Jason was knowledgeable and very helpful in advising what parts I needed for the upcoming winter. It was also very helpful of the staff to install the additional parts that I had. I would've been happy to pay extra for the time and service, but I was told it would be covered. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped me compare models prior to my purchase. I feel very confident in my decision/purchase. I'm very happy they offer a 90 day tune up as well!

Staff were very helpful. They helped me come to a decision about which bike to get very quickly and set me up with the accessories I wanted. However, I was told the safety check would be complete in 24 hours and it ended being 2 days before I was able to pick up my new bike. I was a bit disappointed I had to wait, but overall the experience of getting a new bike here was positive.

Every time I came into the store I was greeted immediately by a friendly individual. Sebastian and a taller woman were the two that helped me throughout the whole process. Initially, I had only come in to be sized for the allez base, but Sebastian provided me with a lot of great information about the Diverge which seemed to better fit my needs. I was really struggling with the price difference between the two models (I’m cheap), but Sebastian provided really great information and I was easily persuaded to go with the Diverge. I know this bike is going to fit my needs best and it will be with me for many years.

The sales experience was great, but I was disappointed by the job done setting up my bike. I purchased a Specialized Turbo Vado SL5. Upon delivery, the firmware was not up to date, the front handlebars were not properly aligned and the lever for the bell wasn’t properly aligned (I have to reach across the bell to ring it).

Kind of disappointed. I bought a bike from here and paid close to 1.5k including accessories. They didn't even help with putting in the front/back light, or show me how to use the bike lock. The bike started making squeaky noises in less than 3 weeks. Had to go back to the store to get it checked out. I was told I would be contacted the following day, but nobody called. I feel like they just want you to pay and get the heck out. I'll see how things go and edit the review if needed.
I called them the next day, was told they haven't yet fixed it and would need to change some parts. However, I got the bike back and the squeaky noise was gone.

We got nice help to choose the bike and accessories for my young child. At pick-up, the staff person who checked me out did not even check to see if the bike seat was adjusted to the right height. I had to ask someone else to help with that, since it was not a quick release. Then while I was struggling to get the bike in my vehicle right outside the shop, two different staff walked right by and did not even offer to help. I was disappointed to be ignored like that after spending so much money. I have had more courteous support from staff at other shops.

Huge shout-out to Noah in the service department. He helped coach me through a noisy crank that wouldn't come apart. I bought the tools from Erik's and when it wouldn't budge for me I brought it in. I think it took more than both Noah and I expected (he had to cut the crank out of the bike), but he persisted and got it squared away. Appreciate the patience through a tough project and quick turnaround!

I like supporting smaller bike shops that aren't chains, though a few years ago I bought a bike here.
The hubs were having trouble staying tight when I was taking off my wheels to switch tires ect.
The manager Matt quickly had my wheels REBUILT with a nicer hub than I had to begin with (all city track hubs) for free.
My bike has served me well to this day, about 5 years after.

We went into Eriks bike shop about a week ago, and Caitlin helped us. She was outstanding! Truly knowledgeable, upbeat, patient, and taught me so much! She is obviously passionate about the sport with great amount of personal experience in biking which she was open to share. She really took the time to get me fitted with the perfect bike for me; guiding me towards quality, keeping my price, but something that would be great for my biking goals. It rides like a dream! Nick, Kit & Max were very helpful and took the time to talk me through my wants and needs regarding not only the bike, but accessories as well. I don’t live near this store as there are other Erik’s significantly closer to me, but I will make the drive just for the staff.

My review is long overdue. Erik’s Uptown customer service is second to none. They remember me by name, stand behind their work, and don’t empty my wallet when I have service work completed. The manager Kyle (aka Ryan from The Office) runs a good shop and understands the importance of returning customers and it shows with the staff who are just as great. If you have not stopped in the shop, I recommend you give them a look. You won’t regret the decision.

Can't stress enough how a staff with integrity and knowledge can really turn around a customer's experience. Two defective tire tubes purchased from Eriks had me coming back to the store, twice, in frustration. What I thought was going to be a slog turned into an easy, quick investigation by the store tech Duncan and manager Ben. Both were very quick in resolving this issue by replacing the tubes bought at no additional charge. Can't thank them enough. Will be back for additional merchandise in the future.

I bought my first cross bike from this location and the entire experience was excellent!! Amazing customer service and the staff – particularly, Morgan, was very knowledgeable. I’m new to the sport and had a ton of questions. I must have spent 6 hours over 3 days with Morgan and she was very patient and informative. She worked with me to find the perfect bike, made sure I was totally comfortable with it and I didn’t feel at all pressured to move forward with the sale. Even when I thought I decided on a bike, she said, “I think that one would be a bit heavy” and recommended a lighter – and less expensive one as an alternative (which happened to be the one that I bought)! I will continue to shop with them and would recommend them to anyone. Keep up the great work!

I couldn’t get my daughters training wheels on- i went to four stores and everyone either couldn’t or was too busy. her bike is her birthday gift and when we got to erik’s they were the first competent and confident people all day- they said 24hrs, i got my text in 2, they found a way to get her on her bike same day. but even more- my kid has a spoiler attachment he reattached it and i bought handle tassels, so 2 hrs later we come back and my baby is on top her bike- training wheels, spoiler and tassels. yup i love those guys

The team at Erik's is extremely helpful and doing a great job of managing their customers needs during the pandemic. The online ordering and in-store pickup process is easy and you don't have to spend long at the store unless there is a long line. If your order is taking a long time to fill, it's likely because the manufacturers are struggling to make and ship products, so you won't find better service at another bike shop.
Note: Be sure to bring a mask until the pandemic is over!

The service staff, especially Service Manager Matt, have been extraordinarily friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - not condescending. Broke down 20 min after johnny rock bikes of bloomington replaced a chain. Went there because of distance. The owner of that shop gave me grief, and told me it was going to take weeks to get the parts. I laughed and said, " thats why i go to erics. They give you an estimate of time, and if there is something wrong that they did( this is never the case) they would fix it."
So.. i told him, " im all about supporting local shops, but this is why i go to erics any way. No hassel, quality work. Maybe i should just take it to them." He brought my bike out in pieces and told me good luck.
Within 40 min my ride was in uptown erics, with a 5 day estimate. Not weeks, days.
Some tell me erics is more expensive, somewhat true, but the professionalism and the stress you DONT get from them after walking 6 miles with a crushed derailleur is well worth it. Always quality work, always back riding in less time than other shops. If you want to be back crushing your rides and jumping that log that took you out in days instead of a, " weeks" excuse, go to erics. Or youll be like me telling yourself" shouldve just came here in the first place dude"

A gentleman helped me and I wish I remembered his name because he was fabulous, amazing customer service and so helpful. He looked over my bike, adjusted my handlebars, leveled my seat, tightened my brakes, greased my bike chain and helped me figure out what size seat to purchase when I was ready.
