Blake and Sam are lifesavers. I cycled up from Milwaukee and was in desperate need for a rear rim to get back. I stopped in just before closing and was taken care of immediately. They fixed my bike so fast that I still had enough time to grab a bear down the street before riding back home. Cheers to Blake and Sam 🍻 🚴‍♂️

We were very impressed with Sam Wolf's knowledge, expertise, friendliness, and willingness to go above and beyond when introducing us to the various electric bikes offered at Trailside Recreation. He thoroughly answered all of our questions and listened to our feedback after test riding several models. Having some lower back issues in the past, Sam made some adjustments to the seat and handlebars for my wife to accommodate these issues. She is now the proud owner of the Gazelle Ultimate C380 and absolutely LOVES it! If needed in the future we are totally confident that Sam will service it in a timely manner. Sam fit me in at 6:20 pm when they close at 7 to fix my daughter's flat tire. He was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Took him maybe 10 minutes and I will definitely be back and recommend to friends and family!

Sam has been working on all of my bikes for several years now. He is one of the best bicycle mechanics you will find anywhere. He and Blake are extremely knowledgeable about the different styles of bikes and their respective components. They can pair you up to exactly the right bike for you and your riding style, which means they listen to you and will not try to dazzle you with their brilliance. They are bicyclists who understand.

Blake and Sam first fixed my upright recumbent bike - it is like new! Then we rented two e-bikes and had a great time. My wife is not a rider and was reticent. Blake assured her and instructed us both with riding/starting/stopping tips. Friendly and informative. They are building inventory, but the service is great and they know bike technology. Very reasonable prices and I hope they have success being located right off the Interurban Trail!

I brought two bikes in here, my son's needed a tune up and mine I wanted to know if upgrading my bike would be cost effective to try and make it ride faster and be more comfortable. I have an old mtn bike. Blake helped me bring my bikes into the shop and got one set up on the bike rack near counter for checking out. We talked about what I thought I wanted done to the bikes and he proceeded to diagnose both bikes pointing out items that should be worked on or replaced. He was very knowledgeable and attentive to the needs of my bikes. Blake showed a real passion for wanting to help and make my experience at Trailside Recreation one that would bring me back when I needed my bike looked at. Very good service, thank you.

On my way from Upper Michigan to Raleigh & had trouble with my e-bike lock which rendered the bike useless if not fixed. Called Trailside on the way down, they fit me in & repaired it quickly & efficiently!! Couldn’t ask for anything more! There were two bike GURUs at this place, both working hard on some bicycles. One even had a set of whiskers befitting of a true guru. They were both refurbishing bicycles, but were quite happy to answer all of my questions.

Needed a early spring tube-up on my Domane 6.9. I’ve been looking for a good wrench on the west side of Mequon. There was an excellent article in the News Graphic on Sam and Trailside and I heard great things. I received outstanding service, at a fair price. Sam also identified a couple of issues that I wasn’t aware of and fixed them without gouging me. I think the the most impressive thing was when I went to pick up the bike, Sam remembered my name and was pulling my bike out before I entered the shop! The sky is the future for Sam! I’ll be back!

Fantastic place to rent from if you are trying to get in some training miles while visiting the Mequon area. I'm not an incredibly serious cyclist, but I do try to train consistently. My wife and I were headed to Wisconsin for a week and I didn't want to miss a week of training, so I called around to figure out where I could rent a serviceable road bike. Sam at Trailside Recreation was the most helpful person I spoke with. He told me that he could set up one of their bikes (a Roll A1) with drop handle bars and SPD-SL pedals for me. I took him up on the offer and went on two 40+ mile rides during that week. And the bike was awesome! It rode absolutely beautifully; like riding brand new bike (which is a credit to their maintenance skills). Sure, it wasn't a Tarmac SL7, but it felt reasonably fast and responsive and made it really fun to explore the surrounding area while keeping my training up. Throughout the whole experience, Sam and his team were responsive, kind, and seemed to genuinely care about my visit to Mequon. And the rates were super affordable. I really can't recommend them enough. If you are looking to rent a bike to keep your training, you should definitely give them a call.

Took in an e-bike in need of some repairs and adjustments. Sam was so knowledgeable, shared with us exactly what he was doing, and had the bike repaired in a matter of hours. The bike has never run better, including when it was brand new. Very reasonable with his prices, and an extremely nice guy!

Stopped by to check out the new bike shop the day it opened and had a pleasant chat with Sam, the owner. I decided to bring in a bike I had recently purchased online and assembled myself to let him check it over. He made a few adjustments that were beyond my level of expertise and was very helpful and patient as he answered a ton of my questions. He also gave me a discounted price because my bike "tune-up" was relatively minor. Seems to have a value-added service orientation and a customer-centric mindset. Just what the world needs more of.

Excellent place to rent e bikes. Very helpful staff. My parents and brother were in town and we were able to rent the same day. We had a great time. The e bikes were in new condition and came with a charger, map and pannier. Easy to use and with excellent range. Highly recommend!

In June we rented e-bikes from here and had the most wonderful experience. We were visiting from San Diego where we own pedal assist bikes and wanted to join my sister and brother in law for a nice ride along the train tracks to Cedarburg and surroundings. Blake helped us so much. He was knowledgeable. He cared. He made sure we were fitted properly and even had us do a little test drive around the parking lot to make sure it was perfect for us. The quality of the Gazelles were excellent. It made for a great day.

Great shop and great customer service. Serviced my Gazelle ebike and it looks brand new again! Rent an ebike and take a ride on the Ozaukee Interurban bike trail right next door to the shop. A must stop if you are shopping for an ebike. Perfect 'try before you buy' location.
