Reviews of Extreme Ski & Bike
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I have always felt welcome and never pressured. They always have what I need when I stop in. No need to order from an online seller when your local shop has it. I was only looking for a tool but was amazed at the number of bikes they had in stock coming out of the pandemic.
My son is new to skiing and we visited to look at purchasing ski equipment. Everyone was very helpful and they educated us on what to look forward. We would highly recommend them. Great experience and good prices.
Great prices, the sales team was very knowledgeable helped guide my ski choice. This is a nice local family run shop with great service.
Did I mention they have a friendly shop dog!
The owner was very nice and helpful. He was mindful of finding me the best deal and directed me to the skis that were on sale. We will definitely do business there again.
Extreme ski and bike has taken great care of all my cycling, snowboarding and cross country ski equipment for years. Highly recommend this mom and pop shop.
The customer service is amazing! The employees are knowledgable, listen to your needs and recommend the best option for you and your family.
It’s nice to not go to a big box store.
You get service here.
We bought a pair of Atomic slalom racing skis at Extreme Ski & Bike. They were a previous year's model and the store didn't have the bindings in stock so the price was marked way down. John helped us track down the correct bindings online and installed them at no cost. They were ready for us the next day. John was very knowledgeable and helpful. Great customer service.
Terrific people and great service! They fixed a tire for me on the spot for a very reasonable price. I brought a friend in to buy a mountain bike a week ago and that was also a really good experience. Athena the lovely border collie is also a sweetheart and very entertaining. Highly recommended.
Extreme Ski & Bike is my go-to place for bike repairs and questions. Family-owned, they treat each customer well and offer quality services for cheaper prices than most mainstream cycling centers. Overall, very happy to call this place home when in need!
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Has helped my kids transition from their first bike 15 years ago to their current bikes. Spot on recommendations every time. My daughter had a bad fall on her bike and they got it back to like new condition for us in two days. Most recently helped me move myself in to an electric bike so I can keep up with the kids.
Extreme Ski and Bike is a very knowledgeable and caring bike shop and has been my go to Trek retailer for my 8+ years of cycling. Service is done to exceed quality expectations and sales staff really cares about meeting your cycling needs! Family-owned and community driven.
Best bike store in southeast Wisconsin. Service is great and the mechanics are solid. I drive almost an hour to get there and there are 4 bike stores in my home town. I now have 3 Treks (road, mountain and Fatbike). I love them all and feel good about supporting a Wisconsin based company.
Great experience. I ordered a new bike from them and they took a long time to properly fit my bike to me. I did not feel rushed. All follow up service has been speedy and appropriately priced. They have a wide variety of inventory and clothing.
Have driven by there often. Figured it was some bike dealer just making it
Needed inner tube stopped in
Shop very busy. Employees very friendly and helpful.
Real nice bike store.
We bought 3 Trek bikes recently. The staff was very helpful in explaining the differences in bikes, sizing, options, and features. Never did I feel like I was being pressured, which I like. We will be back soon!
Willing to help me out in a pinch, but ultimately didn't really help.
This shop is conveniently located on the Oak leaf trail so if you've got an issue on a ride it's an easy place to stop. I had a wheel rub issue during a ride and needing a couple tweaks. The young man helping me was very friendly and did what he could but after an hour and $22 I wasn't a whole lot better off. What's more, when I left I hit my rear brake and almost ran into something because they neglected to reconnect it after their work. I fixed it myself and got home.
4 stars for helpfulness and attitude.
2 stars for competency.
Great place for bike service and to buy bikes!
I took my GF's trek bike in three times to a well known competitor in the milwaukee area for a very noticeable brake squeal. Each time they gave me new brake pads and resurfaced the wheel that's just about it. The problem literally came back as soon as I got home in all instances and in one instance it happened as soon as I received the bike back (literally in front of the guy). I have also been to two separate locations of this competitor and received the same smug attitude.
After the second time this occurred I did some self diagnosis by swapping the front wheel of the bike with that of a bike that had an identical front wheel. the problem was transferred to the other bike which said to me that the problem is the wheel itself. I tried to explain this to the competitor but again was given a very smug "we know what we are doing" attitude and was treated as if I was a pest.
At my wit's end I finally called trek support and described my issue and also requested that the maintenance be done at this location because IMO it couldn't get much worse. After a rather short and promising discussion with Kagen from Trek support I was told to take it to Extreme Ski and Bike and that he would personally call the owner and explain the issue. (BTW thank you Kagen, you're the first person who actually listened to me!)
A couple days later I took it in and met Cary who I believe is the owner of "Extreme ski and bike" She is very easy to talk to and she took the time to listen to me. I explained my issue to her and instead of just ripping the bike apart she genuinely wanted to find out what was causing it. She asked if she could try some things and since it was winter I had no problem with her keeping the bike for a while to diagnose the issue.
She gave me a call later that week and said that she thought she solved it and gave me a very detailed explaination as to what it was but also said that If I still wanted the wheel replaced that I could do that as well and it was up to me.
I had no problem accepting it since it appeared the problem was resolved. I received the bike back and upon taking it home it did it again, but the difference is that I gave her a call afterword and experienced no resistance and was asked to bring it back in so we could go through with the wheel replacement. This time they were able to reproduce the noise and determined that it was indeed the wheel itself that was somehow squeaking. What I liked be about this though was that she continued to try and find out what the cause was even through the wheel was going to be replaced. I like this about people because it shows a genuine curiosity and it shows that they care a great deal about their customers. I also like the fact that she actually explained what she thought was causing it unlike the competitor.
I am extremely satisfied with the level of communication from Cary and I appreciate that she did not treat me as if I knew nothing and most of all didn't have the smug attitude that I've run into everywhere else. her business has won me over and I will always bring my bikes to her for maintenance and purchase bikes from her store.
Just purchased a bike from Extreme Ski and Bike today for my wife - her first road bike. We spent almost 3 hours in there and had a great experience. Extremely knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend them!
Great store. Great people. I have bought many bikes and skis from them as well as gear and clothes. I don't live close to the store but it is well worth the drive for me.
I travel 35 miles to do all my bike business here. No better place that I know of.
Excellent service. Always willing to help and answer any questions. I highly recommend this shop for all and any bike or ski needs!
Kind, friendly and knowledgeable staff
My favorite bike shop. Great prices on bikes and service. The staff is polite and helpful. Great location right off interurban trail.
Great family owned business w/ excellent skills & service. I’ve purchase all of our bikes from here, and won’t ever go anywhere else!
4 hours over 3 days of getting information on a snowboard setup, before I finally decided to buy. Awesome service, and very enjoyable experience!
Great assistance, extremely helpful
Bought X-Country skis. Guy named John (one of owners) super helpful and knew his stuff.
Great place but the owner can be a little prickly at times. Just curious why close at 5 when people get off of work? I wanted to check out new skis tonight.
New to biking, Carrie was SO helpful! Thank you for the great experience. Excited to be a bike owner!
Extreme has a great selection of small parts. This store is usually the difference between riding and waiting for a special order.
Knowledgeable, helpful, quality products, good prices. This is where I buy all my bike supplies and maintenance.
I have never had a bad experience here, selection of bikes for sale could be better, it's Trek heavy.
the best sales and service and always personable. ive been a customer since they opened and know of many who have had the best of care
I like to take my bike here to get it tuned up. They do a really good job, my bike feels like new, and it was done quickly.
