Wonderful first experience! Jendy helped me select a great first mountain bike and the gear I needed. They had a much better selection than the two other shops I looked at recently. He was very knowledgeable and didn't mind answering my beginner questions! No pressure to buy anything extra and helped me pick out the gear that fit me perfectly instead of trying to steer me towards the pricier items. I have a feeling this is only the first of many trips to Midtown Cycling!

Best bike shop I have been to in Kentucky! I currently live over an hour away from Middletown Cycling, and although there are closer shops to me, I always make the drive to Middletown due to their great customer service and large selection of merchandise. I have bought two bikes and countless accessories from Ross and his staff, and they always do a fantastic job of making sure that I am well taken care of. 10/10 would recommend going to Middletown Cycling for all of your cycling needs!

I purchased a new bike here a couple of months ago and I love it. Not only did I get a great deal but all the staff are super nice. I had a issue with my dropper seat post so I took it in this week. I didn't get all the usual accusation type questions associated with repairs / warranty issues you'd expect with most shops. They simply asked what was wrong, checked it out and replaced it while I waited. Normally warranty issues require weeks if not months of back and forth with the manufacturer and time without a bike. These guys take that on themselves so I get to keep riding. This is above and beyond what you might expect and for that, I tip my hat to these guys. Thanks again for raising the bar on customer service.

So let me start by saying...I am a complete amateur when it comes to the world of cycling/mountain biking. I had hit some trails with friends a year or so ago using one of their bikes and had the time of my life and have been wanting to purchase my own ever since. The weather has finally broke so I decided to shop around for a new mountain bike. I walked into the shop and was immediately greeted by a very enthusiastic young woman named Nira. She jumped right up and began helping me look for the bike that not only I wanted but one that would work best for me and my needs. Once we decided on a budget she showed me a few bikes. We settled on the KHS Sixfifty 7200. Nira also helped me find the "must have" gear to get me started and suggest a few equipment upgrades for the bike that would make it even more of a joy to ride. All of which were installed quickly while I checked out merchandise. As someone who researches things down to the nauseating details before I purchase...Middletown Cycling & Fitness/Nira made my purchasing experience pain-free, enjoyable and cost effective. I would highly recommend them for all your cycling needs! I will be back for sure!

Multiple people that work there are amazing but a special thanks to Ross and his expertise to help us with my family's biking adventures. Had bought a giant for my 10 year old, and he couldnt rotate the shifters. Ross had another option as trade, but then looking at what we had, told us, your bike is so much better, lets just upgrade shifters. Appreciate the honesty and integrity of Ross and his team..:)

Went out to Middletown Cycling today to purchase a new set of wheels for my mountain bike. Ended up getting a much nicer set of wheels and tires than I thought possible in my price range. The owner, Ross was very accommodating and the entire experience was pretty damn awesome. The new wheels and tires are a great upgrade for my bike. I would definitely recommend checking them out if you are in the market for a new bike or some new parts. They seem to have ton of stuff in stock and a great selection of bikes.

We ordered my daughter with cerebral palsy a special bike that she would be able to ride, and didn’t realize it didn’t come standard with the type of special pedals that she needs. I had an idea to run it over to Middletown Cycling to see if they had any ideas. Not only did they figure out the right custom pedals in a flash, but they installed them, adjusted the seat and handlebars- and then refused to charge us. I hope they know how much it means to my daughter that she can ride a bike with her big brother. This is why supporting small businesses is so important.

I went in with a bike I bought from someone online. I knew absolutely nothing about bikes and needed to change both tire tubes. John greeted me and immediately stopped to help me, showed me step-by-step what I needed to do, and explained each step. He then checked my brakes and tightened them because he noticed they were not working properly. I was so thankful for his time and willingness to teach me. It's a few years since original post. These folks still are #1 Great people! Super service! Where to go! The BEST customer service in town! Factory closeouts NEW at very significant discounts; (example) able to buy new last years factory unsold model for about half price. We bought a $1500 bike for $800. Great selection and accessories too. If they dont have it they offered to find & order it. Anytime we're there they're busy with customers and the other shop across the street has an empty parking lot. So many customers cant be wrong. :)

First time customer. Came in with a routine repair request on a bike I purchased elsewhere. Ross and his staff treated me like I was their best customer. I was greeted in the parking lot as I was going into the shop with my bike. I felt welcome from the moment I arrived. They fixed my bike while I waited and charged me only $10. These guys were super helpful. Just went in to get some air valves for my wife’s new bike and asked if they could have a look at it(make sure she did a good job assembling it). They jumped on it! We were able to get the bike tuned up and some added accessories for a very fair price. Ross was incredibly helpful and the entire staff was super nice. I do like this shop. Lots of options, and they won't try to push you into a $5K bike if it isn't what suits you best. Ross and the rest of the crew there are really helpful for the occasional tune up as well. I've been across the street, but since Giant now makes all the bikes for Trek, why spend an extra $300-500 for an equivalent product from Trek? Go here, get a Giant, and know that they will be there to support the purchase.

Today I had the absolute pleasure of working with Angel O. at Middletown Cycling (MTC). I have a KHS road Flite 780 road bike that I purchased in 2018 that I love. My kiddos are finally at the age that we can bike ride together and I was in search of a hybrid bike for more casual rides with them around the neighborhood and local parks. Angel's customer service was 10/10 hands down. She helped me to find the perfect hybrid and even had a basket installed on the front for me. I took my five year old son with me and let him try out a couple of bikes too since he just started riding without training wheels. Angel was patient with him and even ran beside him while he was riding in the cold weather. Don't waste your time with target and walmart for bike purchases. Run to Middletown Cycling for incredible customer service, quality bikes and prices!!

Just purchased by giant trance from there. Ross was very knowledgeable and easy to work with they even set up my suspension and did a safety check before I took my bike home I highly recommend this Shop to anybody who is looking for a new bike. I went back to have my bike looked over and have some wheels installed on my Trance. they had the parts I needed in stock and were very knowledgeable in advising me on what I would need for further upgrades. Also they got my bike in and out of the service dept surprisingly fast. They continue to impress me with each visit. These guys (and girls) are easy to work with - we bought my wife's bike there about a year ago and I've had my Road and tri-bikes serviced there. God must've had me walk in this place, cuz I went in looking for a hybrid, and Ross just "happened" to have a recently traded 2-year-old Giant road bike in great condition and extra-large (I'm 6'4). Ross and the team are fantastic. He does not try to make all his money off of one customer. He knows that giving you a better deal helps him get repeat customers. I would have never dreamed I spent this much money in cycling, but I am the proud owner now of a 2019 Giant Defy Advanced Pro along with a Wahoo Kickr and he beat everyone else's price. I even needed a slight repair on a tire which they fixed at a minimal cost. Go see them...you won't be disappointed!

In response to the recent few 1 star reviews. From a repeat customer and frequent visitor, my experiences juxtapose the 1 star reviews that are bogus, and are slander on a business. I have never experienced anything remotely of aforementioned negative reviews. Not too often do businesses have 60+ 5 star google reviews, so obviously this business has their customer service, ethics, and business model working well. Do yourself a favor and check this shop out, you will not be disappointed and you will also be asking yourself how someone could write a negative review. Ross and his team are extremely knowledgeable and will take the time to answer all your question's. They are a hard-working and great group of guys and gals who truly and sincerely care about your experience. For the numerous of bikes I have purchased here, I only consider Middleton Cycling & Fitness. Had a basic bike setup done by Alex. The comfort level of my new bike went way up! I can ride further and more comfortably. He answered many questions I had about cycling(and I didn't even buy the bike there as I'd not yet discovered them). He also talked me out of buying a seat that day and riding things a bit to see what I wanted. He was more concerned with my riding than their sales. I did end up purchasing a seat and bought it with pleasure from these guys. I can't say enough good about this place!! We live in Bardstown so I really didnt want to drive all over Louisville or E-town looking at bikes and hearing everyones opinion. I wanted a good bike, good people and good service. So I looked online and realized I wanted a Giant bike. So I called all the shops and the place where the person was the friendliest and knew the most was this shop. Walked in and it was a perfect fit. If you want a bike shop where people are happy and know what they are doing I would highly suggest giving them a serious look. Its nice to know they care about fitting you into a bike and then care also in keeping it running right for the long haul. When you buy a bike you also want to know you can be happy with the support down the road.

Middletown Cycling is the epitome of selling culture done right. So many bike stores focus on profits and they forget that their selling culture is what drives profit, not shoving product down your throat. I’m an introvert and Nira immediately picked up on that and practically sprinted to the correct bike on the rack that I didn’t know I wanted (hint: the bike is on my trainer now). Both her and Ross worked with me on price, even if it meant they may not make a whole lot in profit on the bike I traded or the bike I came home with. Why? Because they know that a small amount of profit now means more business in the long-run. If I could give more stars, I would!

I am a analyst with a sales background so I went to three different places to purchase a bike. I led them to believe I knew nothing about bikes and was just starting off. This was not true I have ridden for a long time plus I do all my homework before I buy anything. The only place that did not mislead me in anyway was Middletown. They went by what kind of riding I wanted to do and my size. That is what is important! Not only did I ride off with a great deal but was compelled to write this review. Customer service and honesty is a dying era and would like to thank you for maintaining your integrity!

My background is 20 years of mountain biking, including working part time at the old St. Matthews Schwinn. I have been to nearly every bike shop in town and discovered Middletown Cycling last fall. The folks there were (are) extremely friendly and helpful and their product line is high quality. I ended up deciding to upgrade from my old down hill bike to new Giant hard tail. Unfortunately, earlier this spring I had a really bad wreck and destroyed my new bike. This was a once in a life time type crash that I was lucky to walk away from. I took the trashed bike back to Middletown Cycling. I told them that I understood the wreck was my fault, but asked them if there was anything they could do to help me out. They were extremely helpful and walked me through Giant's crash replacement program. Along the way I decided too upgrade some parts. Ross, Rich and their staff were very patient and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. I am extremely happy with the way they took care of me after something that was my fault. Middletown Cycling will be my bike shop of choice from now on. (For full disclosure, Giant's crash replacement program is not free, but it is better than just losing your bike. I just don't want anybody to think they can get a new bike just by crashing their old one.)

Simply put, the owners are normal guys who are in the shop most every day. They don't simply throw the msrp on the newest shipment off the truck, they constantly hunt for deals so that they can put anybody who comes into their shop on a high quality product. God, I know how contrived that sounds, but I am a x4 customer who is sitting on two bikes worth thousands more than what I paid. Any time I have a problem, I bring in the bike and a wrench is on it IMMEDIATELY. prices for Labour are fair and the staff will transparently work the manufacturer warranty for you instead of you having to plead your case. Took my Schwinn from Walmart here after a couple years of hard riding and neglect. Don't know much about bikes, just like to ride them and brought it here to have it inspected because there were a few issues. They looked it over and told me there actually wasn't that much wrong with it. Tuned it up, replaced a few things, and got it back to me much sooner than expected. I came here to buy a bike for my daughter on her 7th birthday, first trip I was alone and bought a bike that was too small, second trip I brought her with me and they we were very nice about the exchange (we didn't ride the first one outside at all, still new) They took their time with her as she shuffled around the options and answered her questions. I have no doubt she got the right bike based on our usage and while the price is obviously higher than a walmart\academy bike the performance and quality is just wow. I really like this place and will be back for future purchases... Been looking for some bike stem spacers. They showed me towards the bike repair area and helped me with some from their spare parts area that were not in the inventory. They sold me the ones they found, and it was actually cheaper from what I saw from ebay. It's exactly what I expect from a legit "local bike shop", instead of that from those bike shop chains.

I initially went in a few weeks back because they were listed on the web as a Cygolite dealer. They matched a price I had found online, without me even asking for any discount. I have since purchased a helmet from them, as well as taking a bike in for a tune-up. Lots of folks were getting help but it did seem like everybody knew everybody else and me and my son are just beginning to think about getting into bike. So I guess I will go to another shop and see if I get the same treatment there or if it is just this store.

During the winter I was looking for a kids road bike. Middletown C&F helped me sort out the difference between 24-inch and 650c wheel for my daughter. Once we had settled on 24-inch wheel, the shop ordered the bike so my daughter could do a test ride. We wound up buying the bike and have had nothing but excellent service ever since. I arrived at the shop at 730pm after calling to see if they possibly could replace the tube in my husbands tire to his manual wheelchair. I got out of the car to Nira holding the door open, greeting me with a smile. Nira was so helpful and even informed me that those type of tires should be filled with air every 2 days, which we were never told when we received his wheelchair. I didn't catch the guys name who repaired the tire, but he was quick and polite. I told Nira I would definitely be back if I needed anything else. She even sold me a tire pump with no pressure. Something that was definitely needed. I so appreicate her kindness and professionalism. I will be back and recommend them to anyone with bicycle or even tire repair needs!

Staff was really amazing. They helped with all the questions I had, and even shared some knowledge I had no clue about. After spending some times with the guys there I put my foot down and decided enough is enough, it's time to step my game up. Time for a grown up bike I thought to myself, and started the process with a few goals in mind. The guys there started by helping through the process. 1 what type of riding do I like : little road and little trail. 2 sizing me up: their adjustable rig was designed to help me get the best fit. 3 oddly enough one of the guys asked " what are your goals for riding": now I stopped and thought for a second, but begrudgingly enough I said "to lose weight and get in shape, maybe have some fun riding". (I'm a pretty hefty guy) 4 after talking and joking a bit while walking around the store we started towards the bikes. After feeling out a few one of the guys made an amazing suggestion "wanna try riding them". "Yes" first word out of my mouth. Now about 30minutes in to this process I new they new a lot I didn't, because the bike I was looking at I was definitely not ready for. While I was rolling around the lot, the boss man rolls out my future bike. I say this because after seeing me riding for a bit he new what I was looking for. Pulling back to the front door on a beautiful road bike, he said give this a try. All it took was one lap around the lot, and I was hooked. 5 accessories: helmet, bottlecage & bottle, pump, spare tire, and a pretty snazzy multi tool. 6 check out: plane and simple with a twist he said if and I mean if you ever need some advice, wanna know some good areas to ride just stop by we'll be here. This is a wordy if not long explanation of why I enjoyed my experience at Middletown, but just know they do their best to get you or keep you out there riding safe and having fun. Oh, and on a side note after getting out there riding I've lost a bit of weight thanks to some advice the guys there gave me.
