Reviews of Trek Bicycle Las Vegas Rental Center
The staff here is awesome and the location can’t be beat. They had my bike setup to my weight in no time and spent the time to talk me through suggested routes based on my abilities and fitness. I had so much fun I came back the next day and will definitely be back on future trips!! I highly recommend the trek rail ebike if you want to cover a lot of ground, take in all the views, and still have fresh legs for the rest of the day off the bike with family. Super fun!
From beginning to end, the staff at Trek Bicycle Las Vegas were amazing. From my first phone call, Blake (not me, the guy at the store) had clear and useful answers to my questions, and on my two visits, the team was responsive and helpful. They got me set up on the bike, ensuring fit and safety, and gave me great advice on navigation in the Blue Diamond area. Even when they were busy with maintenance or repairs, they still had time for a question or to make a dumb joke. On my return, they were even looking out for my level of hydration. I really appreciate their great service.
I rented both the Top Fuel and Fuel EX. My vote goes to the Top Fuel: it felt faster and more responsive, but maybe I was just riding better on that day.
There are great trails, starting just behind the shop: no huge features or crazy air, but really solid XC, with a few technical climbs. I strongly recommend NOT falling on a yucca or cactus. I tried both, and didn't really enjoy it. Take water, and your Trail Forks or MTB Project app.
These guys are great! I totally spaced on a Saturday morning, brought all my gear, but forgot my helmet and they lent me a helmet - with a drivers' license as collateral, so I didn't have to spend 40 minutes going back home to get my helmet. Thank you!
Fabulous customer service! Great route advice. (listen to them!) we did a day of road bike rentals (family of five) to tour the scenic drive in red rock canyon, then a day of mountain bike rentals to explore the Cottonwood trails. Saw so many Burros and a rattler (a bit out of season, but there it was!) it was so easy to pre-book our bikes, and they set us up with trail repair kits and helmets. Also provided a great recommendation to eat next door at the Cottonwood Station, which was an excellent suggestion. Highly recommend the ease of renting a bike vs trying to pack your own and this location is right on the routes you’d want to ride.
Great experience in all regards. Guys at the shop were great. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Bikes were tidy, well-tuned and ready to roll prior to my online scheduled arrival time. The purpose of my visits was to narrow which model / size Trek I’ll be purchasing, and this answered those questions perfectly. This positive experience also solidified why I’ll be buying a Trek in the first place. Well done. I’ll be back!
Excellent selection of rental bikes, bike suspension was set up proper before I arrived based on my weight which I supplied. We also discussed tire pressure and figured out a happy medium between what I normally run and what is good (and conservative) for desert riding. Only suggestion I would add is to have an option on the drop down menu for pedals of "I will bring my own". I have rented in a few other spots and that was an option on their pedal selections. Overall, really great service - I would definitely rent here again if I am ever in the area and would recommend to others just as it was recommended to me.
The guys were super nice from start to finish. I asked for a front brake bleed and what I received was the best feeling brake I’ve ever had and somehow my bike also got cleaned! Great shop with detail oriented staff. Plus the desert riding out here is awesome!😊 …
The online bike reservation system is very handy, making the actual on-site transaction very quick and painless. Your bike will be already set up for your size/weight, so it's just a matter of signing a document, picking your helmet and complimentary drink, and hitting the trails. Staff is always helpful and friendly, and their Trek Fuel bikes have worked well for us every time. The trails around Blue Diamond provide a variety of challenges, and the scenery is great. The trail head is literally a 2-block ride from the shop. Highly recommended!
As a bike shop owner, i am very picky when it comes to bike rentals.. the bikes were very well tuned and adjusted. Friendly staff and great recommendations for trails right from the shop!
I rented bikes and rode the Cottonwood area trails here maybe 5-6 yrs ago and the biking has only gotten better since then. Trail system is large and well maintained. Great shop, selection of great rentals and friendly knowledgeable staff to help you plan the perfect day out. Located right off the trails and there's even a great little cantina next door for post ride beers and food. Book today, you won't regret it!
These guys are awesome! Very knowledgeable and professional… they can help you with any of your biking wants and needs! Best service I have ever gotten from a bike shop.
I went to Las Vegas for work and of course to ride bike, when ever I could.I decided to rent a bike from McGhie's because of their quality rentals and the trail was so close to the shop. I rented the bike online a head of time. When I arrived at the shop they put on my pedals and the bike was setup and ready to go. The trails were great, the guys in the shop were very knowledgeable about bikes. They had water and Gatorade available at the shop for free. They even said I could have a beer, I'm not sure if they were joking or not, but I was to tired. The only mistake I made was not to ride more and of course take them up on the beer. When I go back to Las Vegas I will rent from McGhie's, I will ride more and drink their beer.
Great service. Friendly staff. Bike was ready when I got there. Great quality bike with no mechanical issues at all. Would highly recommend.
Rented a couple of bikes and the rental process was a breeze! Staff was friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be a returning customer.
Great rental bike selection and awesome guys working there. High end emtb's. Trails are just outside the building
I don't write many reviews, but these guys helped make a highlight of my Vegas trip. I reserved a mountain bike online, they had it tuned and ready to go when I got to the Blue Diamond store early in the morning, and they mapped out a fantastic ride for me. The excellent Cottonwood trails are rideable right from the store. Highly recommended. Bring your bike shorts, jersey, and shoes; they'll take care of everything else.
If you need to rent a mountain bike in Las Vegas...this is the place! The service and the equipment was exceptional! Blake and Tim were very friendly and very knowledgeable about the equipment as well as the trails all around the area. They will custom map out and tailor a ride for you anywhere from beginner friendly to a gnarly downhill ride. The shop is right near the Blue Diamond / Cottonwood Valley trail system and you can literally ride miles and miles of trails. I rented an emtb and covered 30 miles a day riding until the battery ran out and still didn't cover all the trails available right out the door of the shop. They provided a helmet, flat tire repair kit/spare tube and some basic tools and made sure the bike was set up properly for my size and weight. All you need to do is show up and ride. The online reservation form is easy to complete and you can set your weight their so the bike will be set and ready for you when you arrive. A top notch establishment. Before or after your ride go visit the cafe right next door for some good food and drinks. There are nice outdoor restrooms right at the cafe as well.
Highly recommend this place. One of the most memorable experiences of my life. Some local friends suggested renting a bike here because I wasn’t able to bring mine. Wish I could remember the guys name that helped me, super young kid and he was awesome. Made sure I knew where I was going, checked on my safety gear, the bike was amazing (better than what I can afford to buy) and tuned up top notch for some tough terrain.
I have been renting from McGhies outpost for many years. Every time I’m in Vegas I come out here and ride the trails. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have great suggestions for riding and I have never been disappointed in the rental bike or advice. The bikes are perfect for the trails in the area and a good price.
Popped in after losing a set screw on my gear shifter today, Guys were able to find one and installed so I can continue riding while on vacation, and they didn’t even charge me for it. You guys rock. Many thanks.
The employees were really nice. The bikes were vary high quality. We did get 2 flats, one deserved one random in a group of 5 going a bit wild. The views are worth it, and the shop is very helpful prepared our bikes to height and weight before we got there. Would come again.
I come every year, somtimes twice a year for business and always rent a bike since the shop has been McGhies. I can't remember his name but I know at least one of the McGhies guys is still there. All three guys were awesome. They helped me plan out a route and the free post ride beer is nice. While I can't officially "organize" a ride for work events due to insurance I'll see if I can just do a mention for next year to get more guys over to the trails and your shop. I had a Trek Slash and was impressed, I'm on an older Giant Reign. Thanks again, have a nice holiday and see you next year! -Mike
Excellent service. Highly recommend. Bicycles were well tuned. Did not have any issues on the trails.
Great location adjacent to beautiful desert singletrack network. Perfect if you're in Vegas, want to escape the Strip and get a ride in. They have a high quality rental fleet. Reserve ahead and they'll have your bike all ready to go.
Very knowledgeable staff. Helped with my first rental and now I'm even more into mountain biking. Would absolutely visit them again. Great job team.
Rented a bike from them while in Las Vegas. Great service and great advice for the best trails to ride. The people in the shop were helpful and kind !
Top quality Trek Domane with SRAM etap. The service was great and after a small issue, they put on new tires to ensure I had a great ride while in Las Vegas
Hands down best customer service for a bike shop! I rode my first trail today, and from the moment I first called till the actual ride, Blake took care of everything we needed! He wasn't annoyed by our questions, and took the time to explain the trail (even provided a map with the trail highlighted) the functions of the bike, safety etc.
I mean bikes were outside ready to go the minute we arrived!
To sum it up: McGhies made me feel like a customer and not a dollar symbol, and didn't treat me any less (profile me) because of bald head and tattoos. I can't say the same for two other Bike shops! P.S I wish they had another program besides financing to purchase a bike (like layaway) but in a few more months I shouldn't have a problem getting financed. Thanks again! Blake.
Great place to rent a bike for a trip through the Cottonwood Valley trails. Very helpful staff, good selection of MTBs.
Great staff, had my bike set up for me in advance, talked about my riding level and recommended trails to match that. I was in Vegas for the weekend and decided to go riding for a day by myself. As a woman traveling the trails alone, these guys made me feel welcome, made sure I knew the routes, gave me a printed map, helped me program my Trailforks with their local trails, and were very inclusive to the only female around that day. That isn't always the case for women bikers. Many thanks for the awesome suggestions! I had a blast and was glad to get out of the city for a day!
There are definitely cheaper rental options out there but you get what you pay for. The bike you are renting costs upward of $7k. You get to ride the best product. The convenience of the location of this bike shop is also a big plus. You can ride straight from the bike shop to some world class trail systems. The car parking is in a nice and secure place so you don't have to worry about break ins and there's a nice convenience store right next door to get supplies and snacks. The staff is friendly and very eager to help with info or trail recommendations. I will definitely be back.
Highly recommended. All you have to do is show up ready to ride and they take care of the rest. I had a great weekend of trail riding and they gave me a great bike, full directions to all of the trails, recommended routes, and everything else I needed. And the riding in this area is excellent. All levels of trails and routes and the scenery is spectacular. Well worth the trip. If you're thinking about getting out of Vegas and trying some trail riding, don't hesitate and this is the place to call.
Unbelievable experience! The perfect amount of the thrill and skipped heartbeats!
We rented electric mountain bikes for the day, and the two guy's at the shop gave us great guidance on which trail to use and marked it on a map, trail took us about 2 hours and it's about 9 miles
The bikes were in top condition. Thanks and we'd definitely try this again!
Both the service and equipment were exceptional! Staff went above and beyond. Easily the nicest bikes we've ever ridden. Like, ridiculously awesome. Location is perfect too - on the doorstep of all kinds of trails, and the guys at the shop knew the routes. Can't speak highly enough of our experience!
This place is awesome! I was there for a spontaneous desire for a bike ride through the canyons and didn't know I was a mountain bike fan until I went riding on one of their bikes. Super recommend this place even for 1st timers since I had never been on a mountain bike before and had a great time. The staff was super attentive and made sure to go over the terrain before I went out for my solo expedition-providing paper maps and made me download an app on my phone in case I got lost. They knew my skill level was zero and made sure I knew to go on the easy trails. Met other bikers on the path who were also super friendly and pointed me in the right direction when I was unsure which direction to go. Thanks for a great experience.
Great and easy reservation process. You can't ask for a better staff. First time renter but it will not be my last.
Most importantly, they have a great mascot!!! She's so adorable!!!
Great service. I rented a MTB and realized it was too much for the local trails for my skills. They gladly switched my bike for an e-bike. It made such a difference. My buddies and I had a fantastic day. Looking forward to my road bike rental tomorrow. Thank you!!
The guys at Trek Blue Diamond were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. It made renting here super easy. The bike was great and suspension setup was spot on. I'll be back when I'm in town again
I'm a local, but am waiting on a bike I have ordered. So I rented (online) a Trek Fuel EX 7 from Blake at McGhie's Bike Outpost. The online rental process was smooth and easy. At the shop, Blake gave me a map and directions, and I rode out alone to experience some of the Red Rock trails. It was so much fun! The bike was in great condition (thanks to Blake), and it performed very well. The trails were amazing, and I plan on getting back there as soon as possible. I was riding in 100 degree heat and kind of overdid it, so when I got back Blake let me rehydrate and cool down before I left. In the meantime we chatted about the bike I'm waiting for, and how to maintain it. He's a great host and runs a tidy shop. Some of the tour guides came through while I was there, too. They are knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this place! And the Trek too!
From Philadelphia, decided to rent a bike and mountain bike the Cotton trails which are a quarter mile from the shop. Great service had bike ready went over a map and route.
Outstanding customer service from Blake. I’m new to mountain biking and had some very beginner questions. He took his time to explain bike setup and techniques. Then mapped out a trail that was a blast to ride. Will definitely be returning!
So glad to have these guys in BD. I had an unexpected bike repair need while riding Cottonwood. The guys diagnosed and fixed the problem for me pretty quickly. I think Tim was the mechanic. Great service, great location. Thanks guys.
Excellent staff and equipment. I am old and a complete novice, yet they treated me with respect. Excellent value.
Great ride
Very helpful and friendly. Took the time to map out a ride that fit my needs. Got lost but that is to expected at new locale.
These guys are awesome! Two times I stopped in after 20 mile bike out from Summerlin with my bike in need of service and both times they fixed it super quick, so I could make the ride back. Super friendly and helpful, thanks guys really appreciate it!!
It is a great shop with very good bikes in an excellent location. I enjoyed the 8-hour “all-day” ride opportunity.
The shop did very well at describing the trails.
The bike I rented (Slash 9.7) was a pretty creaky bike (BB or crank bolts?), but otherwise rode very well and was set up very good for my weight. It was a great “show up and ride experience.”
I would have liked to know at the time of booking that my rental slot (1000-1800) was actually six hours instead of eight since the shop closed at 4:00. I found out when I received my reminder email the day before. I would have adjusted my times better if I knew in advance.
Overall, I would (and already have) provided recommendations for this shop based on the friendly staff, available bicycles, and location. Well done.
These guys are not only very cool by the way they service clients and prospective clients, but they're very good at their jobs. I went there for I knew seat post trigger, they noticed a couple other things on the bike. One of the things was a bad tire I would not have made it through the ride. I would not have been able to ride. They changed the tire and the tube for a great price and I was on my way.
One of my first experiences with the shop was after a muddy ride. They had a rack behind there little shop to hang your bike with a huge trash can full of soapy water and a hose. I cleaned my bike before I put it inside my Hummer. It was so cool. After that was when I decided to use him as my bike shop. Not all bike mechanics are created equal. These guys are worry-free.
Being able to rent high quality bikes so reasonably, with an interesting nearby trail network makes this a good way to spend part of a day. Blake and Tim were super helpful. Great way to get in some mtn biking as a visitor.
I called a few days in advance to get some general info. Blake was very helpful. He again set me up with a rental over the phone in less than 5 min on a Sat. Bike was sitting outside ready for me when I showed up. Jeff got me all set up once I was there and gave detailed instructions and tips on the best route for me. You can tell they love bikes and love sharing the amazing trails out their back door with everyone. Why would you rent in town then load a bike up. Park at the shop and ride straight from there. Cool little shop and restaurant right next door. Will definitely rent from these guys again!
The best of Vegas. I love this place. I've rented from McGhie's Outpost 7 - 8 times over the last 10 years. The process is simple, the staff are easygoing and helpful, the bikes are in great shape. Riding in the Cottonwood Valley is awesome.
We just visited last week, bikes were outside and ready to go when we arrived, the mini-fridge had waters and Gatorade for us, the trail head is right down the street, Rubber Ducky and Mustang Trail were calling.
I can't wait for the next time I visit McGhie's Outpost.
I've rented from McGhies's in Blue Diamond several times. While some people come to Vegas for the shows and the night life, I have made it a point to bike the area near Blue Diamond during my last few visits.
If biking during the Summer, be sure to hydrate the day before and plan to be there at opening time.
The staff provides good suggestions about how to navigate the trails but you're best off using Trailforks for navigation.
My friend and I rented mountain bikes to go out for the day. The staff were very helpful and provided great trails with a map to follow for a fun loop given the criteria we asked for! Great service and had the bikes ready for us to go right away with everything being dialed in! No problems with the bike and the ride was great!
While in Vegas for a trade show in January 2017, I rented a demo bike here. I really appreciated that the shop opened early (7 a.m.) so that I could get in a good ride and be back in Vegas before noon. The shop has a very mom-and-pop feel and the guy running it is super laid back, but don't let the modest appearance of the place fool you -- they carry very decent demo bikes which are well-maintained. I watched the mechanic helping another customer with a tubeless issue and it was evident that he knew his stuff. Incidentally, this was my first ride at Blue Diamond. Starting at the shop, I rode a little over 20 miles in a broad loop. I highly recommend getting down to the trails south of Route 160. On that segment, I rode up Badger Pass and then further up 3-Mile Smile to the start of Dead Horse Loop, before coming all the way back down 3-Mile Smile. That was the best part of the ride, especially if you have the trail to yourself on the way back down, as I did. Next time I will add in Dead Horse. Great ride!
I rented a MTB and it was a great experience! Easy pick up and drop off. The bike was setup in a great way, and the people at the shop gave me suggestions on the local trails, including a very useful map with suggested trails highlighted.
My husband and I made reservations online, which made it so easy, we walked in told them who we were and off we went. The folks at the shop were super helpful, giving us suggestions based on our typical riding. We had a blast and the weather was amazing! When we returned we were offered a cold beer and purchased some great gear! If you are an MTBer this is the place to visit. Be sure to ask them about the rubber ducky trail.
What an amazing experience! From Wisconsin for a conference. Bobby came to our hotel, on time, clean truck, and gave us the “low down” as we drove from our hotel on the strip out to Blue Diamond. By the time we got there, our bikes were all set up, water and snacks ready and we hit the trails. He was able to assess our skill levels quickly and gave us lots of choices of trails to work through. The views were amazing, the trails were challenging (per our request) and his instructions were super helpful. Can’t say enough about our experience! Thanks Bobby!!!
1st time mountain biking this past weekend. Quick and easy process to rent. Blake was awesome, answered all our questions, and got us on the trail quickly. Would definitely return! Thank you, Blake!
It was easy to select and book a rental on your website, and Blake was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I got set up on a brand new Trek Fuel EX rental, which was perfect for the local Blue Diamond trails. The shocks, seat height and tire pressure were perfect so I was able to hit the trails immediately. I only had time for a small ride, so I will definitely plan another ride to explore more of the trails and rent from McGhie's next time I am in Las Vegas. I'll have to leave time to grab food at the recommended restaurant next door.
Had a great experience renting a bike here. Rented a current model Trek Fuel EX and it was in perfect condition. Service was excellent. Nearby trails were awesome!
Great experience with great employees! Bikes were already tune to our weight and height as we arrived for our rental. Be aware to eat good and hydrate before riding the diamond trail loop which takes approx 2 to 3 hour loop.
Phenomenal people at this shop! Just driving through and stopped to ride mountain bikes. We met Bobby, one of the employees at the shop and a trail guide, out on the trails. We ended up doing the rest of our ride with him. Super enthusiastic about showing people the great trails behind the shop. Highly recommend. Small outpost of their main shop in Vegas, but the people, inventory, and service do not disappoint.
Blake at the shop hooked us up with some super fun bikes. We showed up last minute without reservations and he made something happen for us. They typically want you to call ahead to reserve , fyi. Helpful for local trail info too. The local trails are awesome .
I was visiting this weekend from Reno and enjoying the fantastic trails around blue diamond.Unfortunately, I suffered a series of mechanical issues and thought my day was done. I came in to the bike shop and despite it being a busy day, the shop fix my bike for me immediately and I was on my way. Great service, friendly, and good prices. What is not to like?
I live in Utah but just started work in Las Vegas so it was my first time to the area. Even though my bike is old, I'm older and a rank beginner they were very helpful, informative, friendly and supportive. I've been to other shops where I was treated like an outsider. Fine, they lose my business. McGhie'is is 25 miles out of my way but I'll be back, not just to ride but for service, accessories and a new ride when the time comes. Believe the other 5 star reviews here. These guys are great.
Rented high quality mountain bike at a reasonable price here to go riding on trails that start right outside the shop. There are so many trails to choose from and the staff at McGhie's were very helpful in recommending the best trails to suit our level and wishes. Trails are interlinked and you can ride for hours in the spectacular rocky desert. Will come here again.
Rented 4 bikes from them over the weekend, bikes were in good shape, and the guys that work there were pretty cool too. Got great directions for the trail since it was our first time riding blue diamond. They also accommodated due to poor weather, we originally had booked Saturday and they moved the rental to Sunday no problem. If you're in the area check out these trails and check out McGhie's.
I called and reserved great bikes for my son and I...we arrived and they were tuned up and ready to go. Jeff described a great route and showed us tips on a map. We had a fantastic ride on Landmine Loop. Great service and thanks!
Really enjoyed myself today with the help of staff. I like to bike pretty often, but I'm not too into it. The staff outlined a great course and provided a map of the trails. They set up the bike for my weight and height. Helmet and gloves are included. Great way to spend $47, take in the scenery, get plenty of exercise, and a bit of a thrill if you push it. Would come back.
The guys in the shop were just awesome. I was in town for work and tagged on an extra day for some riding. Excellent trail recommendations - 3 mile smile (coming back) and the return for the Landmine loop clockwise are fast and exhilarating. After the ride, I was offered a beer and a couple of hot dogs and great conversation in the shop. This is service!
Had a wonderful ride from this great shop. I’m a novice and they set me up and helped find a great trail to ride. Awesome and friendly service. Would recommend to anyone coming out to Vegas that they make the short trip out here to rent a bike for an unforgettable ride. I definitely plan to come back.
Great rental experience! Blake was very helpful with getting the bikes ready for us, provided us with a trail map and hilighted a intermediate trail that we followed. It was 12 miles in total. Next time we are out visiting we will be renting from here again.
Pro tip: call ahead and he will have the bikes ready for you when you arrive!
Great people, great bikes, great trails, great time getting out of the city and exploring Red Rock Canyon.
Always a good time at the Outpost!!! So many trails and the people of BD are so friendly. Even if you don't MTB they have a cute little park, market and place to eat!! You will need to refuel after a day out riding!!
Booking a reservation online was effortless with many bikes to choose from. The bikes were top notch and had no issues. Definitely the way a bike shop should be. I will be renting from McGhies next time I am in town! Cheers!
Blake fixed my dropper post on a moments notice. Allowed me to ride the rest of the day safely. Really appreciate his help and he's a super nice guy. Please don't trash the parking areas and please respect the trails and residents of this great little community.
What a great place. They were so curtuous. Our party was two adults and two kids ages 15 and 12. Definitely beginners to mountain biking. The equipment was superb. The trail was challenging and fun and our guide, Bobby, was really patient with our youngest. A total blast and a great way to explore red rock. Thanks!!!!
Great staff. Great bikes. Great trails.
They rent really high quality bikes and are very friendly. I had a carbon Trex bike with a dropper post that was super useful. The dog is a cutie too. Excellent trail knowledge by the staff and a good base point for a loop. We did a 15 mile trail along late night, super fun!
Showed up without a reservation and were able to take care of our group with no issues (they really would like you to reserve in advance though). Bikes were in good shape. Trails are right out the back door and were a ton of fun. We went out in the middle of the day in early October and the temps were just fine.
Great location, good service and very nice bikes
Cannot say enough good about McGhie's. I come to Vegas for work at least once a week. On a whim I decided to rent a bike during some down time. The rental booking was easy. They were super friendly when I got there. The bike was in good shape which is rare for a rental and it was perfectly set up per my specifications. I'll definitely be back.
Rent your next awesome ride from Blake at the Blue Diamond location.
You can order ahead on-line so Blake has your bike ready to go when you get there.
Even though you dont have to but it makes quick and easy when you go to pickup you ride.
Highly recommend for any one and the trails are very nice with different types of rides.
McGhie's was a diamond in the rough. Just yards from some great single track - Blake was great and made us feel like locals helped down load the trail maps to ensure we were not over our heads - my wife and i will definitely go back when in Vegas! HIGHLY RECOMMEND - on and the food next door was great treat at the end of the ride! - Trey & Kristin H.
Amazing place! I highly recommend stopping in Blue Diamond and McGhie’s Outlost. My friend and I drove from California to ride the Red Rock loop. When we arrived, I realized I forgot my helmet in the hotel. There was a massive traffic jam and getting back to the hotel to pick up the helmet would have been a nightmare. We checked in the visitor’s center and they recommended going to McGhie’s in Blue Diamon, which is only 7 miles away.
What a great place! They saved the day by allowing me to barrow a helmet! Do yourself a favor and skip the traffic at Red Rock. Head straight to McGhie’s, check out their gear, park the vehicle and ride from there. It adds some miles and the road and ride are fantastic.
When you get back, you HAVE to check out the cafe directly behind McGhie’s. FANTASTIC food, good prices, and nice atmosphere (including outdoor seating with fireplace).
This just became a regular stop for my on my Vegas trips.
Great guys, great bikes to rent. Buddy had a mechanical issue that was result of hitting rock and I fully prepared him to have to shell out some money. They felt bad for him as he had to walk in two miles. We were so pleased we came back the next day and rented again!
If your in Vegas and you want a great experience renting MTB bikes you need to check Mcghies Outpost out. I have been renting bikes from them for the last 7 years. Always great experience. Very convenient and close to a great trail system write out of the parking lot. Highly recommended.
Best deal in Vegas. If you're in town only for a short time, rent bike from them and ride the Cottonwood trail next to Red Rock canyon. People at Mcghies are simply the best. All you need are your gears no need to bring helmets the have them there. Hop on and ride the trails. You can do 50+ miles if you want for one day.
Was at Las Vegas for a competition and decided to take an extra day to go riding. I found the trails close by here using MTB project app and stop in here to have my brakes looked at and talk about the trials. Super friendly and helpful. Good prices. Had I known they rented bikes for such a good price I probably would have left mine at home. Will be stopping here next time I head to Vegas for sure.
Rented a bike here for a great day on singletrack. Fantastic trails, I was worried the trails getting in and out of town would be a little boring, but it was all really fun. I did almost 40km of singletrack and there was still plenty I didn't cover. Staff were really friendly. I got a Trek Fuel Ex 7 29er (perfect bike) and brought my own pedals. They even kept my post-ride beer cold for me in their fridge :)
As a first time rider, the staff was very helpful and friendly in introducing me to the bicycle and it’s features as well as very helpful tips to ensure I had a great experience.
Did a 16 mile loop up 159 and back down "Flow Job". Definitely get the emtn bikes so you still have energy to walk the strip. Super helpful and laid back staff had the bikes tuned to our weight when we showed up.
I really appreciate the wealth of information and experience of Chris Tuma at the Blue Diamond Bike Outpost. Great service, great bike mechanic. I was in town for 4 days and rented and rode all 4 days, gotta love it. Thanks Chris, best start to the season ever.
While riding the Blue Diamond trails, I broke my seat post. Fortunately we were close to McGhies Outpost so did not have to ride far with no seat. Thought I would be waiting around while my husband went to get our truck which was at the Late Night parking lot. Chris was super with helping us get the bottom of the broken post out and then to our surprise he pulled out a loaner seat post to get me back to the truck and into their Vegas store for a replacement! Never experienced such great and friendly service!
These guys are great. I was on a business trip from the UK, and had a day to spare, so thought I'd rent an MTB. I'm a roadie, but have some basic MTB knowledge. The guys went through the bikes they have, and were very helpful. I opted for a full suss with massive 27.5×3.0 tyres and it was awesome. I could ride over stuff I never could with my 26inch X-country NRS. They lent me some full finger gloves as it was way colder than I was expecting. They set the bike up for me, and gave guidance about the trails. The trails are easy/intermediate (perfect for me) but very beautiful scenery and a great workout. Next time I'm in Vegas with some time to kill I'll do this again.
I was in Vegas for a long weekend last fall, drove down from Salt Lake City. I didn't intend to visit Mcghies, but when I got to Blue Diamond, I realized that I had lost the skewer to my front wheel when I took it off to put my bike in my car. Mcghies doesn't rent bikes with the type of shocks I have, so it was unlikely they'd have the part. But the owner went out of his way to rummage through random parts he had in the back and found one for my bike! He gave it to me and refused to accept any money. He then proceeded to give me a full overview of the local trail system, which I appreciated since I was from out of town. That's the kind of customer service that makes people come back to a place: doing something to truly help the client and enhance their experience, even if it doesn't mean making an immediate profit.
if you're a local, lucky you. if you're visiting las vegas and want to let the dry desert air mitigate your clothing's rich cigarette musk, blue diamond is the place to do it. miles of accessible trails right out the door. it's apparent that the fleet is well maintained and the staff is knowledgeable. no beater bikes, even the cheapest full suspension rig is pretty sufficient, but why not treat yourself. let the staff know you're skill level and they'll recommend an appropriate route and give you a poorly photocopied trail map. 100 per cent chance i'll be back to explore what i couldn't that afternoon. also the complimentary gatorade was a small gesture that made a big difference. shredding makes for a thirst that only colored sugar water can quench. GO HERE /RIDE BIKES !!!
Bike Outpost is the perfect stop for anyone on a Vegas Vacation that wants to get a real Old Nevada experience.... just 20 minutes off the strip, take in the Desert landscape on one of these exceptionally maintained bikes.... Chris Tuma (Store Manager/Mechanic/Barista/Nature lover/life enthusiast) is an amazing ambassador to the Cotton Wood Canyon trail system and is able to put riders on high end bikes. Highly recommend this shop and trail system to everyone!!!
This is a great bike shop - it is right at trailhead. The bikes are good and the staff is great. Blake was super helpful, had our bikes ready when we arrived, and knew the trails well.
After driving nearly an hour to mountain bike at Blue Diamond, I unloaded my bike and came to the sickening realization that I'd forgotten my pack with some essential gear. Fortunately McGhies Bike Outpost was open, and Blake saved the day by setting me up with a rental helmet and gloves. He was also knowledgeable of the trail I wanted to ride and provided helpful pointers. If you have any trouble with your bike or gear while riding at Blue Diamond you can count on McGhies Outpost to come to the rescue.
*The Bike Outpost* (Legendary)
Unrivaled Location. Great service and merchandise available to save or improve your ride.
The have a DOG in store!
Friendly and knowledgable bike technicians and guides.

Knowledgeable and friendly technicians. High quality bikes in great condition. Clean facility and equipment. Reasonable prices.
I've rented bikes from McGhees several times over the last few years and always have a great experience. The staff is helpful and friendly, the bikes are well-maintained and they always have my bike set up and ready when I arrive.
Easy rental process, great quality bike at a great price. Prime location at the start of the trailhead means we did not have to worry about transporting the rentals anywhere.
Super accommodating. Staff were friendly and got a lot of work done fast. Quality bikes at super fair- if not actually just very inexpensive to rent. Highly recommended.
Can't say enough great things about the service here. Even though they were in the middle of hosting a road race the staff took their time to draw us a trail map and make sure we had everything we needed before setting out. Definitely worth the drive from the strip!
Possibly the nicest bike shop for mountain bikers in the West Vegas area. Blake took care of our dropper post. some rim tape issues and adjusted the shifter in the blink of an eye. Knowledgable and quick, and just the most chill space around. Ride Blue Diamond, pet the doggie and see Mcghies’ hospitality.
I've rented from these guys twice and been super impressed both times. So friendly and knowledgable and they don't nickel and dime you on every little thing. Great value, great local knowledge, and they treat you like a fellow human. And the trails out at Blue Diamond are unparalleled. Go hit the viagra trail! So fun!!!
Excellent bicycle, and friendly staff that got everything ready in short time for a great day. The suggestion to download the app with map of the trails was excellent. I wish they had given better recommendations on how much water to carry.
Best service ever. Reserve online so hour bike is ready when arrive. Blake is quick and helpful. I highly recommend this shop. Oh... I forgot... the trails are a blast 🚲 …
Blake is the bike mechanic. My son crash his Trek Full Stache at Cotton wood trail and bend the derauiller. We walk back to the shop. We thought it needs to be replaced. But Blake fixed it in less than 10 mins. Its awesome to watch him work on the bike bacause his hand is so fast that you wont be able to noticed what he did to fixed it. But its back on its shape smooth and ready to ride. He also fix a small wooble on the tire too. Thanks a lot Blake. 👍
Blake was fantastic, very informative and friendly! He got our party all set up, gave excellent advice/recommendations, and had us laughing throughout. Excellent value for the price.
Highly recommend these guys for your rental needs while in vegas.
The hospitality from Jeff and Blake was awesome. They did a great job matching the reccomeded trails with our goals and experience. Next time I am in the area I will definitely be renting from this outpost again.

Fantastic. Hooked me up with a sweet ride, and a detailed map. Had a blast. Hint: if you ride out here, be in good shape, I live at lower elevations so some of those climbs were much tougher than expected.
