I went to a different salon a month ago and they did not do a good job. I came to DC Nail Spa to get a fill-in and they look so much better. The design was exactly what I asked for. I enjoyed the pedicure, but I wish they did more scrubbing/callus removal. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. Nicole did my pedicure and Vivian did my manicure. Both did a great job.

This nail salon is the BEST I’ve experienced in 11 years in DC. I go to Thao, and she knows every shape and design I want before I can even explain it. She takes her time, making sure every finger matches. She’s incredibly kind and patient. And they’re very good at pricing!

Eva is amazing (and everyone else who has done my nails actually)! I’ve been going to this salon for 5+ months and it’s great quality every time. There is really great attention paid to every step of the process. I tried a few salons when I moved to DC in 2021. My nails last 3+ weeks here EVERY TIME (dip powder) compared to other salons where my nails were chipping or worse—breaking off completely. Their nail polish selection is endless. The salon is very clean. Their staff is friendly. There’s incentives for discounts (paying in cash, birthdays, points for visits, etc). Overall a great experience! Try them.

Wendy was quick! Got a simple gel mani, she did great, her work was very neat and she shaped my nails beautifully. Only thing was I did get a small cut from the filer but she was quick to clean it up and was very careful after.

I always have a great experience at DC NAIL SPA. The woman who did my nails this latest time tested the color I picked before doing it and I ended up switching, so I appreciated that. Very clean establishment and they always fit me in even though I never have an appointment. A tad more expensive than Mimosa Salons but I think it’s worth paying more to come here. My gel mani/pedis have always lasted longer.

Great nail salon in the Dupont Circle area. I generally make an appointment although the few times I've walked in they've had space for me. However, it does tend to get pretty busy on Fridays and on the weekend so it's best to make an appointment. The staff here are all very professional and friendly and they take Covid precautions pretty seriously (temperature checks, hand washing upon arrival, sign in sheets, plexiglass, etc). Thankfully they still require masks. I've gotten manicures, pedicures, and a gel manicure here. The only reason I docked a star off is because I've noticed that sometimes they don't do the exact shape I want when shaping the nails, although that's a problem at many nails salons. Often I'll just shape the nails myself at home and tell them to just clean up the cuticles and polish which makes things easier. The prices are reasonable for the area. They give you a discount if you pay in cash and there's an ATM in the store. This has become my go-to nail place and I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a consistent and reliable nail salon service.

Really enjoyed my time doing my nails here with Vivian. I did dip powder with short extensions for an almond shaped nail. I have pretty short nails but she was good with my hands and nail beds. If you pay in cash they’ll reduce the services by 5%. Will be returning here. Color was 109.

I love coming here for dip powder nails. Total with tip is about $50. The service is great and workers are very nice. I give this place a 4 stars because my nails never come out perfect. First the demo color always looks a little different when applied to my nails. I usually ask for round shape and it sometimes comes out a little misshapen or off center. The issue is never too bad for others to notice which is why I keep on coming back. I’d say it’s only truly work it if you go Mon-Wed when you get $2 off and pay in cash where you get 5% off as well. I have to add that during the summer the location is exceptionally busy and you should make an appointment in advance, during the other seasons I walk in and am usually seated. I would NOT recommend having Tee. I did not like his work and when the color did not come out as the sample showed he was not cooperative and the customer was definitely treated not right.

I have been coming here for about a year. Lynn is the absolute best for dipping powder in the area. I went to many other salons before finding her. My manicures last for 3-4 weeks. I usually end up removing them before they have chipped just because my nails get too long! The pictures I posted are after 4 weeks! I have seen other manicurists at this salon and they are all great- Nikki and Thai especially. Pedicures are excellent as well. On occasion, I have had to wait for my appointment but never more than 15 minutes and they are always very nice and accommodating with a drink while I wait. I have never felt rushed. Everyone takes their time here. Call ahead to make an appointment! It gets busy.

Absolutely adore this place. Been coming for months now. I always get a dip powder manicure with nail art. It’s reasonably priced, fast, high quality and precise, and the manicure can last me a month without any chips or peeling. Moreover, the staff are absolutely delightful. Cannot say enough good things about this place.

My go-to spot! Very professional and clean - feels a bit like a spa but without the high-end spa prices. I do a lot of dip nails here and have been impressed w them vs other nail places I go to where the dip looks super chunky and uneven. I have been super pleased the last few times I went.

Every time I visit DC Nail Spa, I’m welcomed with excellent service. This is definitely my favorite nail salon in DC. The nail artists here are very talented and friendly, and they can do a variety of designs. They also work fast and efficiently so there aren’t long waits. They do take walk ins, but I’ve found it easier to book appointments, which are simple to book by phone.

I was pleasantly surprised by the space and service the salon offered. It is nice and clean. The nail stylists are polite and courteous, and the nail stations have built-in fans on the sides! Probably not a big deal to most, but as a person like myself, who has seen many nail salons in their lifetime, it is to me. The little things matter. Although, my manicure wasn't the best I've had, there is room for improvement. I would definitely come back for a visit.

I’ve tried a number of the salons in the neighborhood and have only come back to this one. My gel manicures last the full two weeks and beyond. The manicures look great and the technicians are professional, attentive and generally really nice. Just avoid going during busy times or you will probably wait a bit even with an appointment.

This place is fantastic! I made a last minute appointment because my weekend suddenly became booked and they were able to accommodate me same day with no issues. I got a gel pedicure by TG who was as sweet as can be! So nice, thoughtful, and attentive, she was an absolute delight. I then got a fill in with gel polish by Vee who was amazing. The full set I had on was done at another salon and they made my nails and shape too thick for my liking and she fixed it like a magician. I showed her an inspo photo and she made my nails almost identical! I am so grateful that they were able to squeeze me in last minute AND that they did a fantastic job. Definitely recommend!

This gel manicure is $28 (went on Monday). If you pay cash then it's 5% off (they have atm inside and it is a dollar fee for withdrawal). If you want French gel mani it's $7 more and if you want mate top coat it's $5 more. Let's see how long will it last!

This was the best experience I’ve had in dc for nails (I moved here in 2021). The nail tech that I had did an amazing job and was super skilled and quick. I showed her a picture of what I had in mind, she took one look and perfectly replicated it on my nails. Even the person next to me commented that she loved my nails! Visiting from out of town and other positive reviews led me to DC nail spa. They did not disappoint! I was able to get in on short notice, even though they had plenty of business coming in throughout the weekday. I got a great gel pedicure and showed Ms. Pure a picture of what I wanted for my hands. She nailed it! She helped me choose the colors, and executed my vision perfectly. They provide a 5% discount if you pay with cash, and they have an ATM on-site. Even without the 5% discount, it was a better and cheaper service than what I've gotten at other places. Highly recommend!

After suffering from bad powder gel experiences, DC nails literally blew me away. I am from New York and just moved to DC. I was determined to find a new nail spot and visited surrounding nail spas only to be left disappointed. Lynn was my manicurist and I could not speak more highly of her! She was clearly very experienced in her craft and had an amazing, warm personality that made me feel right at home. One of my nails broke after I had been trying to grow them out and I was upset about having to cut them down. Lynn told me she could simply add an extension so I could keep my length! It was fast and easy. My nails have NEVER looked better and lasted me over 3 weeks. Last night one of my other nails broke (after 3 weeks of an amazing mani) and I know exactly who I will be going to to fix this!!! Not only is Lynn so experienced and talented, but the environment is so clean and open. Other salons in this area are cramped and unwelcoming. The receptionist is a doll and offers you a drink of your choosing. I don’t mind paying more or waiting longer if it’s to be serviced by this salon. Thank you DC Nails!!!!!

2017: My favorite nail place in all of DMV. Every nail tech is awesome and very professional. I get dip powder nails and they always look bomb. Love this place. Comfortable, clean, and free beverages. Edit: Two years later, I’m still coming here exclusively. If you make an appointment you can minimize your wait time. Trust me you need to. It’s packed there always and for good reason. Every artist does very well. My nails (and pedi) can last me up to a month with dip powder. I’ve been to a lot of places over 7 years and no one beats this team.

Today was my first time visiting this place, it’s close to work and I heard good reviews so I was really looking forward to my visit. I got a gel manicure and everything was good except for the actual application of the polish, it felt so rushed. There are bubbles in the polish and you can see the brush strokes, it doesn’t look smooth at all. Will probably not come back.

I have been going to DC nail spa for about two years to get their dipping powder. I don’t particularly care for the pedicures but the nails are always amazing no matter who does them. The facility is clean and doesn’t smell of fumes, and it definitely feels like a first class experience every time.

Helen at DC Nail Spa (formerly R&R Nail Salon) has been doing my wax and nails for almost 8 years now. She is excellent and her waxing is quick, fast, and clean. I'm always happy with the results. Prior, I have tried other places in DC and waxing was like torture. Once I found Helen, I have been loyal ever since. She is also excellent at mani pedi. Today she did my gel mani pedi, and I love it. Note that R&R Nail Salon changed management around 2016/2017 and the shop's name was changed to DC Nail Spa and had undergone renovations. The shop interior looks updated with all new equipment, new manicure-pedicure stations, more pedicure stations on the second level, etc. Most of the R&R staff stayed on (including Helen) and I saw several new staff. They have a new POS system now, more services, more staff. So it is all good. I will continue to see Helen. She is the best.

DC Nail Spa is the new Highest Standard place in DuPont/Kalorama!! I have lived in this neighborhood for more than 20 years, and was never a fan of the Mimosa factory, where there is little ventilation, fees creep up and in fact a diamond ring removed for a manicure went missing years ago. Since then I have loved the former R & R nail salon across the street, where the staff are all excellent, there is a beautiful picture window on either side, lots of fresh air. When I saw it closed I really worried!! Lo and behold it has changed ownership and reopened as D.C. Nail Spa and is better than EVER!! They have retained many of their excellent technicians, but the new state of art massage chairs, array of complementary beverages and freshened up beautiful design put D.C. NAil Spa in the very top in its category, I dare say in any neighborhood in DC! If you are a regular elsewhere, give this place a try, you will return here again and again.

It felt more intimate. The place is very organized and clean which you don't find atlot of in salons if you do unfortunately there overpriced and do not deliver quality nail service. Vy and Nikki took care of us. I'm very particular when it comes to my nails Vy did great job especially on my medi. I can't wait to get them done again when my nails grow back. They take your temperature, you sign a form confirming you’ve not had COVID symptoms, everyone is masked and there are plastic separators. I had booked an appointment with Niki and I was the only client there which I was pleased about. Niki did the best job ever on my nails and I’m so grateful that she takes the time to do the shape I like! I brought both ladies pictures of nail designs during two different appointments and both ladies were able to excute them flawlessly and at a great price using dip powder. nail tips and gel polish. My natural nails are growing and healthy thanks to the dip powder underneath my tips. I always recommend this salon when friends ask for a clean salon with amazing service and talented nail techs. I will definitely be back to my regular appointments now that vaccines are available and the spread is slowing down in DC. Their Covid guidelines are very safe. Customers are asked to wash their hands before and during the appointment, take their temperature and social distance from other customers and nail techs. Dividers are placed between the customers and the mail techs and masks are mandated while in the salon. I felt very comfortable and safe when I visited. Thank you for the care!

Most customers did wear masks. There were a 1/2 dozen in salon, close quarters, w-out a mask. Thru pandemic DCSpa had been very good about mandating masks. Maybe they did not get the Mayor’s memo in regards to the reinstatement of the mask mandate. If you are a person who values masks and takes this pandemic seriously I’d beware. If you do want to risk it ask for Julia she’s awesome. And bring ca$h for the 5% off. I’m disappointed in Mgnt and won’t be back until friends can tell me Mgnt takes the virus seriously again. I imagine the Holidays and the rush for services have clouded their judgement.
