Mikayla ButlerHonestly would only recommend this school for Mrs. Olga, I graduated from the Electrolysis program a few months ago and can 100% say I’ve never felt more prepared to take the state board/ treat clients/ go on interviews..…thanks to Mrs. Olga. Ive never had a teacher take so much personal interest in making sure her students are well prepared for the real world and can confidently explain laser and electrolysis! Even after going through esthetic school somewhere else, I learned so much that helps me out today through her. Her teaching style is different but it works and her years of experience and countless successful students are proof!
Kay KI have previously left a review but have more good things to say! I graduated at the beginning of 2022. I was lucky enough to have Olga as my teacher during the fall semester. Since graduating I have performed laser services as well as worked as a medical assistant alongside a doctor. I’ve now continued on to work with Dermatology providers. I could not have accomplished any of this without Olga! When it came to teaching she went above and beyond. Although the primary learning objective was laser and light she also gave me the knowledge I needed to work on the medical side of aesthetics. I’m so sad to see negative comments being made about her. I could not have accomplished my career goals without her.
Madisyn ThompsonI graduated from the medical aesthetician program back in February and have already written a review but I feel I should write another as I see a few negative reviews about the teachers. I had Ms. B for my skin care class and absolutely fell in love with skin because of her. She is very personable and makes the class fun. Would always be making our class laugh, connecting what we were learning with the outside world, and was always hands on with us which is what made what we were learning easier to understand. She is an amazing teacher. For my electrology class, I had Mrs. Olga, who is also an amazing teacher. She may be alittle blunt and very hard on you sometimes but that is only because she wants you to pass the state board as you are spending lots of money and time to do so. Mrs Olga cares about all of her students and pushes you to be the best you can be. I’m very saddened to see any negative reviews about her or any other teachers. With that said, I couldn’t have chosen a better school to start my career in!
Florida GalMy experience at Beauty & Health Institute (BHI) was terrific and I highly recommend attending if you are interested in getting licensed! I wish I had chosen BHI first before I wasted my time and money attending a newer (and much cheaper) school in Tampa. (More on that below.) I found BHI to be very professional and extremely well run from the initial school tour to orientation to graduation day. Everyone on the staff and administration was friendly, genuinely helpful and always answered my questions in a timely manner. My instructor Ms Cathy is a sweetheart and was extremely passionate about everything related to skincare and I found each class lesson to be very interesting and engaging. She always took time for us and treated everyone equally with great respect and she demonstrated endless patience to help those who were behind and struggling. Happily, I graduated and got my facial specialist certification in December 2022. Regarding the other school I withdrew from, please learn from my mistakes; 1.) I would not attend a school where the owner/administration/instructors are all the same person. You want administrators and instructors separate from the owners (Like BHI) 2.) Choose a school that has been in business for several years. (Like BHI) 3.) Choose a school that is listed by Better Business Bureau and also has a good rating (BHI is A rated on BBB). 4.) Don’t rely solely on Google reviews! The owner of the school I originally attended was extremely intimidating and known to get mediocre or bad reviews taken down and get former students to only write glowing reviews. (Any business with exclusively 5 star reviews and not one lesser review is a red flag.) Speak directly with other former students to get their candid input. 5.) Only choose a school where you can tour while classes are in session like BHI does. You want to view the instructor's personality and teaching style, even if only for a few moments. Good luck in your endeavors! And a huge thanks to Ms Cathy and everyone at Beauty Health Institute for a wonderful experience!
Sharon DeeI rarely post reviews but this time it is totally necessary! After retiring from the Corporate rat race and the hustle of business for many years I relocated to Tampa, Florida. I then decided to pick a new path that would allow me to help others as well as myself by selecting a new profession in a peaceful environment. My new path lead me to beauty school! I researched all of the top rated schools in the Tampa area for weeks and then I set appointments to tour the top picks.
Beauty & Health Institute stood out from all of the other beauty schools like a bright shiny object! And they have made even more outstanding additions to enhance the "student experience" there since I began and completed the program.
Although, I did experience some challenges along the way, the Administration staff did an amazing job at listening to my concerns as well as assisting me in overcoming my obstacles to successfully complete the program.
I was blessed and grateful to be able to complete the Facial/Skin Care Specialist program under the Leadership and instruction of Ms. Brittany. Ms. Brittany is one of the most professional, personable, knowledgeable, informative and kind individuals that I have ever encountered in the beauty industry. With Ms. Brittany's help and guidance, I completed the Facial/Skin Care Specialist program with ease and absolutely no stress at all! Thank you so much Ms. Brittany, for all of the motivation, inspiration and encouragement that you provided to me to complete the program, YOU ROCK!!!!!
If I could give Beauty & Health Institute more than "5" stars I would as they are well above and beyond a "5"-Star Rating! And if you make the wise decision to attend Beauty & Health Institute then consider yourself extremely blessed and highly favored if you have the opportunity to experience Ms. Brittany's class, she is indeed a "top-notch" educator! #TrueStory
Kamelya KizarI just graduated from beauty and health institute and had such a wonderful experience that I was actually sad to go! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mrs.Olga. I feel truly lucky to have crossed paths with such a knowledgeable and kind woman. She put 100% into teaching her students and genuinely cared about us. She always made an effort to keep the class interesting and teach with high energy! She also spent extra time with students who were struggling and made sure no one got left behind. These are all qualities that are hard to come across nowadays. Overall great experience! Administrative staff were always very kind and professional as well.

I was extremely nervous to find a school I was going to be comfortable at. I did SO much research on all the schools in the area and let me tell you, the minute I walked in the door for my school tour I knew this was the place for me. If you are in the same boat, stop right now and schedule your tour. I graduate this week and I am so sad to be leaving. I knew little to nothing about skin coming in and I feel so prepared and ready for my next journey. You will get all the knowledge and education you need here!! It’s mainly hands on learning which was my favorite part of school. Everyone who works here is so professional and friendly as well. You won’t find a better staff anywhere else. You are always welcomed with such a warm friendly smile every morning from Gianna. Jesmen is always walking around with a smile and happy to help you with anything you need! Ms B and Ms Cathy (skincare instructors) are THE most amazing instructors you will never get!! I can’t say enough great things about this place. I can’t wait to continue my education in the future. KennedyI attended BHI for facial/skincare and electrolysis. My teacher was Ms. Bianca Marrero and I cannot say enough amazing things about this woman! She truly cares for her students, is beyond educated about everything to do with skin care/working world, and is ALWAYS available to help you out. I graduated a couple of years ago and I STILL text her with any questions I might have. She is truly one of a kind and I would recommend anyone to her! She will make your experience worth while.
Zenahyda ReissMy best experience with Beauty and Health Institute was my instructor, Ms. Bianca Marrero. She not only brought k knowledge into the classroom, but also her priceless experience in the field. She ensured that we not only had the technical head-knowledge but also lots of hands-on practice. She ensured that we looked at ingredients rather than brands or what a product said it was for. I find that Ms. Bianca Marrero went above and beyond to mentor us. Thanks to her we came out of the program as confident Estheticians, knowing everything we need to know, and having enough hands-on experience to succeed in the field. I came out of her class with full confidence to open up my own business. It has been two years since then and I have implemented everything she thought us (never skipping anything). The results: I have only had happy clients who keep coming back to me and refer me to their friends and family. I thank Ms. Bianca for my success, despite of becoming a new business owner right at the onset of COVID. I highly recommend her to anyone who signs up to the esthetics program at BHI. Mo DocMy wife is a student at this wonderful institute. She has had nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. I wanted to see for my self, so I booked a Microdermabrasion facial. I had the pleasure of meeting the teacher Cathy, who was very insightful and knowledgeable. I had one of the most relaxing days in my life. I would highly recommend to visit. The director Sunny is very nice and informative. 5 star !

Jayne HarknessI love the school itself when it comes to the atmosphere and the attentiveness of the office administration. I’ve learned a lot here thanks to Ms. B & i am grateful for the time I’ve spent here. However, my experience here with my current instructor has been a nightmare to say the least. Her name is Nirene & she has a serious power struggle within herself and has singled me out as a student and has said nasty things to me, tried to send me home, sabotage my grades on multiple occasions.. and has made it her point to make every conversation with me an argument. I am ECSTATIC that tomorrow is my last day and that i won’t have to deal with her anymore.

... Dont' get ripped off go here it is priced right and fair so it is affordable. The teacher is lovely... Much better than getting ripped off by the scammers that charge $300 to $350 for the same thing so they line their pockets....
We are beating into the ground as electrologists with limits and fees. There needs to be a break and this is one of them.. Use here for all your live hour at a price it should be and not so costly.. I can't afford all these large costs. The most affordable CEU hours for electrologists in Florida and here... The teacher is wonderful..
Dawn DSWI'd thought about laser hair removal for years. But apprehension prevented me from proceeding. Fears of scaring, ineffective results, and inappropriate candidacy prevented me from moving forward with the venture. In June 2014, I went to HBI for a mani-pedi with Natalia...which was AWESOME. Even after THREE weeks, my gel polish remained intact with NO chipping, no fading. The only way one could tell it was an "old" manicure was from the ~3mm nail bed growth and polish "grow-out." Needless to say, Natalia is my nail tech for LIFE!! The private room ambiance and Natalia's personalized attention is truly a "SPA" experience:)
Once there at HBI, I learned about the differing techniques for laser hair removal on AA skin tones. Jackie R. took the time to show me the laser device at HBI and explained that YAG is best for dark hair / dark pigmented skin. Jackie was open and transparent enough to show me her own underarm and bikini area...wow! Impressive. Clear skin, no hair growth, no scaring or hyperpigmentation after 3 years. Jackie assured me that I was a fine candidate and that ingrown and hyperpigmentation would certainly improve with laser treatment.
I scheduled an appointment for laser hair removal for the following week, with treatment areas being underarms and...wait for it...BRAZILIAN...aagghhhh!! The beginning of the session was a little uncomfortable at first...but you get used to it. And...the Brazilian was not bad at all!! All areas took approximately 35 minutes to complete....NICE!! I can HONESTLY SAY that even after that first treatment, I saw a noticeable difference in my skin, especially underarms. It is now 3 weeks later and I am soooo impressed. My shaves are smoother now and the shaving results last longer. If this is the result of just ONE treatment...I am sooo loving it!!
So, you need to get repeat treatments every 8 weeks for approximately one year...but well worth it!! Results can be seen almost immediately - and skin tone and texture have improved for me dramatically. I can only imagine how ecstatic I will be one year from now with beautiful even colored chocolate skin tones and...NO HAIR...bye-bye shaving & waxing:)
