Hands down the BEST tanning salon in NJ! You can’t beat the prices, staff, and beds/services. Staff is not only VERY friendly, but EXTREMELY knowledgeable and always willing to help with your tanning needs/wants. Ample state of the art tanning rooms that are always clean and ready to use. A huge shoutout to Laura & Erica for being so extremely helpful and for their amazing customer service- they are the best! Thank you Laura and Erica & the rest of the staff at City Tropics for helping me achieve my summer glow all year around!!

Probably the best and safest tanning to go to as a first time. Clean and super friendly. Anthony (owner) knows what he's doing. Went there as a first week free, and ending up wanting more of how good and natural it is. Known Anthony from the doctors office and told me to check it out. Hands will go again. Summer 2023 definitely is this place.

OMG-- I love this new lotion. I used to use the Black Dahlia but new lotion is amazing super cute salon on Centre street in Nutley staff is really nice and they have a great variety of beds. I am definitely coming here for years to come.

I’ve been to lots of tanning places but this is by far the best. It’s clean, there’s never a long wait, the prices are good, all the girls are super nice, & they actually maintain the beds. I’ve worked for a few salons in the area and the most they do is rotate the bulbs not replace them with new ones like they do here. If you’re looking for a good tanning place, this is it.

Great first start. The lady explained everything and was so sweet in the front and answered all of my questions considering I have never done this and I am very fair skinned. I just needed more time to put the lotion on and the tanning bed already started for my allotted time. They suggested I only do 7 minutes the first time.. I'm going again tomorrow... Have to start building up.. Tomorrow I'll put photos :) Day 2. So I could not help but to give it a PERFECT ☀☀☀☀☀ suns for tanning, lol. The staff I can't say enough, everyone I meet that works there is awesome. And since my life revolves around accessing others and providing the best customer service, I think everyone should come here and try it once because you'll fall in love. With obviously this pandemic at hand what's great is from the minute you enter you have hand sanitizer that smells great and doesn't dry you up, Wipes, they take your temperature and what is a godsend for me.. Get this last appointment 9:15pm!! All you late night workers- now you have a new home! I do see a bit more color today.. But got my full 10 minutes today and just trust the process. Again if you are as FAIR as me- you have to have several visits and maintain. A must GO!

Of all of my experiences with tanning beds and salons, the professionalism, cleanliness and overall service of City Tropics Tanning never ceases to surprise me. After visiting this salon, I never stepped foot in another. The bulbs are always their brightest, and their staff is on another level of sweetness, awesomeness and help. They know the beds down to the T, so you know exactly what you’re getting and your results will come out even better than the staff may have explained. The owner and his wife are the most welcoming of persons, and make sure you are always satisfied. They have tons of student deals for people in school, and of course, your first tan is FREE! Drop everything and come here!

Went here for my first spray tan on 5/15/21, the girls working couldn’t have been better! They explained everything in detail and even gave me great tips for the after care of my spray tan. Love the color of my tan, it’s a nice glow, not orange at all!

I’ve been to many tanning salons in the area, planet sun, sun of a beach, beach bum, however none of them compare to city tropics. The overall atmosphere and customer service is always outstanding. Employees Vanessa and Gia have been very helpful in assisting me with my tanning goals by recommending certain beds/packages. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!

Yesterday was my first time using the tanning facility at City Tropics! I was super excited as I had only been before for facials from Renee which are always amazing! But this time I was going for a spray tan, that Laurie recommended. I'm naturally tan and always worried that i May look orange. I did the dark option for spray tan and I am definitely not orange!! I'm so happy!! It came out beautiful and just added a bronzed look to my already tan skin. The girls at the desk were super helpful and even gave me a tank top which was a nice touch!! I will definitely be back! Thanks again!!

The first time I walked into City Tropics Nutley location I was very happy. Every area of the salon was cleaned, the staff was great and the beds were amazing! I got the best tan and I used both the beds and stand up. The only thing missing was palm trees and sand...lol. I also tanned at the North Arlington location which again, was ever bit of what Nutley was. I would so recommend this tanning salon to anyone who is looking for a great tan, nice staff and cleanliness and good value.

I went here for the first time today and I had a very good impression from the first Minute I walked in, I was hesitating a little bit considering I used to go to Sun of the beach tans and after what was happening and knowing I was probably filmed I was kind of the second guessing of going to another place, but I gave this place a try and the girl Laurie was very very nice, the place was very clean, and the beds are big and wonderful!! So this is going to be my new place to go tanning and I think I will be very happy here. 😊

I tan intermittently in the winter time. This place has a great deal going on: your first tanning in a bed is free at any level. The girl at the front was super nice, gave me advise of what level I needed, and threw in a free pre-tanning lotion. It def gave off strong GTL vibes (jersey shore appropriately playing on the tv in the background XD). The place was VERY clean and neat. Again, everything was totally free. They of course offered if I wanted to purchase a package for future visits but I declined only because I was just visiting the area. I overall had a great experience with my free tan. Unfortunately I had to cancel my Christmas trip to Florida with due to covid and although it is not the same, I did feel a mood boost like I had spent a day in the sun. I left feeling GREAT. Thanks city tropics!

Sooooo friendly. The staff is amazing. The beds are the best in the area by far. They have different beds such as the bronzing bed which I use when I’m super pale and I don’t burn! It’s sorcery. I will continue going and highly recommend.
