I had a wonderful experience with this nail salon my first time going! The biggest issue I ALWAYS have at other salons is the nail shape/length never matching and then leaving unsatisfied with how they turned out. Liam completed my full set of acrylics in a timely manner and let me know BEFORE starting my nails what I would be looking at as far as pricing. I am impressed and will be returning! The photo on the left shows when my set was first done compared to the second photo after about 3 weeks. The pricing is a little higher here, but I’ve paid more at other salons and wasn’t happy with the end result, so their work is definitely worth the price here!

Good option for nails in Uptown. Usually I’m able to call same day and get an appointment. I like that they give you a little “warranty card” so if something happens within a given amount of time they will fix your nails. I’ve never had an issue but it’s a nice touch.

I am an intense nail biter and am always terrified to go in to a nail salon. This one was different! Lavie did my nails and was 100% non judgmental, kind, thoughtful and did the best job i have ever had done. She took her time and paid attention to detail and did not hesitate when i asked her for shorter, shorter nails. So grateful for Lavei and to have found Mahalo nails. i am never going anywhere else.

So I am brand new to the Minneapolis area and have been looking for a good nail salon believe I have finally found it. I’m rough on my nails because of my job but love having them done and Tracy was able to save 2 nails that had broken roughly and make them match. Great staff, super cool location. Highly recommend!

My maid-of-honor and I got our nails done for my wedding the day before and our nails both turned out amazing! It was fast, the staff was all very nice and helped find the right colors. The price was fitting for the service; I'd go back again!

As a Real Estate Advisor and mother with a tight schedule, I appreciate that Mahalo can always fit me into their schedule. I am not a fancy nail art or acrylic person, but my basic mani/pedi or gels are always done extremely well. Last time I saw Ellie who was caring, a great conversationalist, and efficiently removed my gels and applied a nail strengthening treatment before I returned to my next appointment showing homes.

Every since they started taking appointments there service has went down hill. They pushed my appoiment back right before closing and rushed my nails. I went in for a fill and ended up getting a hole new set that looked like I still need a fill and was charged over 100 for a 40 dollar looking job. Nails where ruff on the edges and not the same shape and didn't last as long. Henry does a awsome job but I never see him there anymore. They started closing up truning off music and lights as if I wasn't there.

This place is the best. They check your temp and confirm you've not been exposed to anyone with Covid upon entering. Some of the best mani/pedis I've had have been here. I doubt I'll go anywhere else. Everyone is super kind and friendly and the owner makes it a point to know his customers. Priced are higher but you pay for what you get!! This was a powder fill in ombre- Ombre' is usually a bit more ($70) and a gel pedi ($50). There's a lot of decent places around but if you want a quality mani then this is your spot. They also specialize in designs, but I typically keep it simple. Can't recommend it enough!!

I've always had a great time at Mahalo. I've been here about four times now and I've always had a great experience. It's a very clean nail spa with very talented service providers. The staff are always very friendly and have been very helpful. The prices are reasonable and I have always been happy with my acrylics (I'm quite particular). Today I got the lava stone pedicure with my mom for my 30th birthday, and it was absolutely delightful. I'll be back soon, and can't wait!

I loved the work they did with my nails. They had three different tech work on them, one for the fill and shape, another who was good at doing a fade and one who knew how to sculpt a design with acrylics. Note: bring cash for tipping as they wont let you add a tip using credit.

I LOVE Mahalo! I go to Lavie and she never disappoints! She's amazing and always down to try any crazy design I want! The rest of the staff is super friendly! I usually get long nails with a lot of stuff so they can be pricey. But they're so worth the quality. She takes her time on the shaping and they've always come out the same shape and size. I don't go anywhere else!

My experience was great. I walked in around 5:30pm thinking that they wouldn’t be able to fit me in because it was a Saturday and that they would be extra busy. Yes, they were busy, but I was still able to get in for manicure. The man who greeted me was very nice and pleasant. I was asked to sit and and pick out a gel color while the next manicurist became available. Ken T was my manicurist and he was nothing short of amazing. He listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. I asked for almond shaped nails, he did it. He also took his time and paid attention to small details. He recommended I get dip powder instead of gel since I am growing my nails out. I am so happy I went with his suggestion. Although the color was not what I expected (the powder in the package looked pink with shimmer, but it turns out it was red with shimmer), I love my nails so much. I can’t wait for my next service with Ken!

The men are very very good at what they do. I'm talking Pinterest and other normalcy unobtainable Instagram photos good. Some Pinterest worthy nails will be a bit pricey since they call nails with multiple designs (I.e. Striped, gems, flowers, gold foil) "custom nails" so they're custom priced. My manicure with custom design and acrylic fill was $75 and SO worth it. None of my gems fell off for an entire month. And they're always so gentle with my hands. When he took old acrylics off to pit new ones on instead of ripping them off like other salons do he soaked them in acetone and it was pain free 100%. This is my go to nail salon from now on and forever.

Tom was amazing! Finding the perfect nail salon was the biggest struggle for me. I was unsatisfied with at least one thing at every nail salon I tried so I thought this salon was probably the same. I came in with a lot of requests knowing that Mahalo might not be able to do certain things. However my nail artist, Tom, never said no or try to make excuses once for any of them to me. He was professional and patient with me. I know that they don't get a lot of request to do 3d nail art (since they are on the pricey side) and they might not be able to practice them on a regular basis to perfect the skills but Tom truly did his best and accommodate for what I asked for. Definitely worth the money and definitely deserves the healthy tip. I'm soooo thankful for Tom and they are, now, the ONLY nail place that I will go to from now on.

Cons-it was a little pricey and the price changed from what I was originally quoted v. what I paid. Had some very, very simple nail art which required the nails to be the same-they weren’t. No hand/arm massage. Masks. No parking. Pros-2 weeks out and my nails still look GREAT (even if the art isn’t even). I really like how they turned out overall.

Usually go here for gel pedicures and they do a standard good job just like any other salon. They follow mask mandates and appear mostly safe regarding the pandemic. This last time I decided to get a fill from a manicure I got from elsewhere and I also needed a new index finger nail. They charged pretty high for the new nail by itself and then completely botched the nail. The rest looked fine. But within a week I noticed they didn’t put the right size nail on and it grew out looking very bad compared to the rest. I’m sure this was just a bad day for the tech but I won’t get another manicure from here.

I love this place like a lot but strongly been avoiding it due to issues had after my last hand set and gel pedicure.. loved this place so much but my toe nails legit aren’t holding well and growing funny with yellow incrusted super sad do amazing work but hot sure how clean this establishment is.. from what I seen my tech used the same tools over and over then wiped off and put back in box. This is hard I love this place. Hope all have a better experience :)

I was so impressed this this salon. I've been looking for one closer to my new apartment, and they gained another customer. I came in on a Sunday. They were relatively busy, but were still able to fit me in, and were very kind about it, but I would still recommend making an appointment. The nail tech was very kind and accommodating to what I asked for and gave me a gorgeous gel manicure in a short amount of time. I was impressed and delighted! The salon was clean and had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I will be recommending this salon to all my friends!

Good if you’re in a rush and need your nails done very quickly. I got an acrylic fill with gel polish, which only took 25-30 minutes. Since the service was so rushed, the technician was a bit rough on my nails and didn’t do the best job with polish and fill. Overall, they don’t look bad, but overpriced for the rushed service.

Very friendly professionals! I called these guys (with no previously scheduled appointment) and they were able to squeeze me and my daughter in for us to have manis done, while we waited for the boys at the barbershop nearby. The shop was very clean and well organized. They were very patient with us when giving options on design and colors. They shared professional tips on how to maintain longer, healthy-looking cuticles as well!

Mahalo Nail Spa is awesome and I will never get my nails done anywhere else! :) Firstly, I would highly recommend making an appointment with either Liam, Henry or Bee. Those three guys are my favorite nail technicians to work with (I am sure the rest of them are all wonderful too), and you will for sure walk out very satisfied if you go to them. Liam has the busiest schedule out of the three, but the wait time is well worth the work he does. Everyone who works there is kind and courteous! They are all about what you want and your needs, and make sure that you are happy with your end result. The receptionist is very nice and always asks if I would like anything to drink or if I want my jacket to be hung up. This place is the best for pedicures also, if you want a nice relaxing massage beforehand, and an awesome new nail color at the end! Would recommend if you are trying to get a full set, manicure or pedicure that is above average. Great price without sacrificing quality!

The technicians there were super welcoming, knowledgeable, skilled, non-judgemental, and I found there to be no language barrier. I enjoyed it so much and it helped IMMENSELY with my nail biting. I continued to go for an entire summer until I was able to completely kick my biting habit!

Overall the salon is nice and I had a good experience. My nails and toes turned out to look amazing, my salon tech showed great attention to detail and how I liked my gel over lays to look. There was a price change in the mist of getting my nails done because I wanted a certain look that kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. But the overall result was worth the extra 20-25$ bucks. I would go here again I just recommend as a consumer the nail tech check with the owner who determines the prices change in services before they quote them to their customer. It can come off kind of sketchy to customer all of a sudden there’s an extra X amount of dollars on my bill after receiving one quote. I would also recommend for the owner to not walk behind the techs looking over their shoulder at the work being done.People go to the salon to relax not have multiple people overlooking their relaxation time , plus it appears unprofessional. Have confidence that your employees are delivering your best quality in nails.Once again I did have a pretty good experience and will most likely make this my new nail salon. Thanks Mahalo

Went here to get a gel manicure at 5:30pm. I felt extremely rushed from the moment I walked in. The place was packed and I was ordered around as if they had no interest in my experience but to get me out of there in time for the next appointment. I sat down and the manicurist didnt say a word to me except to direct me to pick my color and got right down to business. My nails look great, price is reasonable, ($35 for a basic gel manicure) but one of my cuticles is still bloody and hurts the next day. Don’t go here if you are expecting a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere and make sure to make an appointment ahead of time.

My favorite nail salon in Minneapolis. Make an appointment ahead of time, they’re usually very busy and if you want to ensure you’ll have a chance to get taken care of, call ahead. (Especially in the summer and fall, I’ve found its a hot spot for people getting wedding nails done and they typically fill up fast) I’ve been going here for over a year for the dip manicures. They always do a great job, and are surprisingly speedy and decently priced. Best part about it, they have a parking lot behind the building, a rarity in the city. If you’re looking for a new salon in the cities/uptown areas, I’d recommend this place above others in the area!

I am impressed every time I go to Mahalo! I get the dipped powder and it lasts longer than any other nail salon I have been to. They also have a great warranty policy if it chips or breaks (no questions asked) within 10 days of the service. I highly recommend, especially if you are looking for dipping powder. It is expensive, but I continue to be impressed - they have instituted a new policy where it is getting more expensive for add-on's (like nail shape) so you just need to be aware/just ask!

This salon is clean, nicely decorated, and spacious. I walked in without an appointment and was told that it would be a bit of a wait. The receptionist actually gave me a time to return and when I did I was seated immediately. There are SO many colors to choose from! Bee did a great job on my gel manicure - it’s still holding up 2 weeks later.

Went here with a friend for the first time. We were really excited because we finally found a nice place that does nail art and designs. The staff was friendly, there is a good aesthetic there that is better than the other nail salons I’ve tried in the cities. They had tons of options for nail colors and gel powders. I got a gel set for my nails and it was a flat price of $70 which I thought was over priced at first, but the quality of the nail tech, they did exactly what I requested (ombré) with the shape and everything and it’s now been a month and a half and my nails are still in tact and looking fresh. I still get compliments on the daily about them. The only negative of the place is that, the workers were chatting and they insulted my friend and called her a dog, not knowing she could understand them. That affected the tips. We all know this happens but it was still pretty upsetting to experience it first hand.

I went to a nail salon down the street yesterday and was very unhappy with how my nails turned out. From the shape, to the service and color they were just awful. Needless to say, I didn't plan on going back. i stopped by this nail salon after being referred there from a business down the street. I am SO glad I did! Neil fixed up my nails and gave me excellent service. He was very kind and made them look beautiful. 10/10 would recommend, definitely making this place my go to from now on. edit: 4 of my nails had the paint chipped off less thn a day later

Mahalo Nail Spa was a great place to make nail appointments before my wedding. Their staff was so accommodating, taking such care with my grandmother, mother, sister-in-law, and me. The manager checked in frequently to be sure my bridal nails were exactly how I wanted them. Liam, the nail artist, did a beautiful glitter ombre with powder - I am still getting compliments 2 weeks later!

Trendy and clean salon, friendly staff who do an amazing job! The atmosphere in this place is just one thing that sets it apart. The air isn’t overpowered by traditional chemical smells found in many salons. The music is tasteful, light pop that hums softly in the background but doesn’t dominate. I had a pedicure from Haley, who did an excellent job and paid attention to each individual nail. She took care with every step of the pedicure. I highly recommend this place!

Overall, I had a great experience with my manicure here. They did a great job with their attention to detail - they were able to take off my dip nails pain free and the gel polish they replaced it with is holding up. The only complaint I have is when I got my pedicure done, the lady scrubbing my feet was hurting me and I said ow but she kept going and did both feet quickly. The massage on my legs did not last long and didnt feel so good. My friend who was with me shared the sentiment and she had a different person. We were there for a girls relaxation retreat but they rushed through hers and were almost done with her pedicure by the time I arrived about 5 minutes behind her. They did a great job painting my toes though but it stinks because I ended up paying about $92 for gel on my toes, fake nail removal and gel on my nails. I would come back to get my nails done but i would be wary to try another pedicure.

This place is great!!! My gel polishes never last an entire week when I have them done at other places...here, they last forever. I need to have a new one because my nails have grown out so much, not because it's lifting or peeling. Staff is great, salon is super clean. Highly recommended.

I've read other reviews but my own experience with this place has been nothing but great. I've been coming almost since they opened every few weeks or so. Sometimes there's a small wait even with an appt but honestly there's so many color options to peruse through I don't usually mind. I've always had great service and loved my nails. They always are super appreciate and accommodating. I've recommended friends and they've also liked it. An all around good place to go.

I liked the salon, it’s spacious and clean. I went there because of all the great reviews, but I did not have a great experience. My gel polish is chipped on two nails - not even sure how that’s possible, and it’s uneven on a couple. I’ve had gel polish done before and this has never been an issue. I’m unhappy with my results. I gave 3 stars because there seemed to be other staff that were better than others, I was just unlucky.

There are several nail technicians here that I've had work on my nails and the quality is sub par. They often miss painting the edges of my nails and don't like trying new nail designs. I get my real nails painted, sometimes with gel polish, and they are always very pushy with the powder/dip they offer. I've had a friend have this done to her nails and she's been dissatisfied with it since it's so difficult to take off and essentially ruins your real nails. I'm looking forward to trying other nail salons in the Uptown area.

i discovered Mahalo after pandemic restrictions got lifted for nail places. they are very nice & took every health saftey precaution to help stop the spread of covid-19. i'm a guy who gets pedicures so i just look to get my nails short & clean, nothing special. they did that with me very well versus another place or two that weren't as good so I can compare. very thorough service.

I think the service is good. However, I’ve never been in a nail salon where so many customers thought it was socially acceptable to talk loudly on the phone while everyone is trying to relax. No signs discouraging it, so I’m under the impression that this behavior is tolerated by management. If you’re in need of a quick mani/pedi and you want to talk on the phone loudly, this place is perfect. If you’re hoping for peace and relaxing vibe, I’d keep walking.

I came in because I like liquid gels nais and the website said they offer this service. The lady that did them was really nice and took the time to explain the prices, thank you. She glued tips on but there are spaces between my nail and the tip on some of my nails. This can cause bacteria to get between and cause problems. Also there was no primer or base coat put onto nails before adding liquid gel. They are pretty short, hoping the stay on. She did a good job filing afterwards, so the nails arent bumby.

This place is the best! Every time I get gels done here they last at least 2 whole weeks. No peeling or anything. They also make sure to get the paint nice and close to the cuticle so grow out isn't that bad. Definitely recommend!

Wa;ked in at 5:00pm on Sunday (they close at 6pm) and asked for a full set of acrylic. I was greeted cheerfully and work began on my nails within 10min of me getting there, despite about 4 other women already having work done in the salon. My nail technician was friendly and very supportive. Normally, when you ask a nail technician if they would recommend a pointed shape or a round shape on your nails, they say "whatever you want" but he gave honest input - I went with pointed! At the end, my nails look amazing. Like my hands look like an Instagram photo! I accidentally touched a nail before it was dry, and it smudged. The lady who fixed it was so thorough and very NOT annoyed at all! She was so kind. Highly recommend this place!

I'm so sad to be moving and have to find a new salon after Mahalo. Super sweet staff, clean, classy, comfortable salon with reasonable prices. Went there once or twice a month for a year and always had a great experience. If you are in Uptown, this is your place. (Also, I recommend the pearl pedicure!) PS. If you want to go after 5:30pm, it might be best to make an appt, otherwise you'll probably have to wait or come back.

This place is fabulous!!! Literally top 5 best nail place I've been too in the country! This place combines an extremely clean environment with a top notch complete spa mail services. Would be 5, but they have NO signs of their pricing and they’re a little more expensive than I would like to spend. I got a fill with gel polish and it was $50. I had to ask the receptionist for a list of their prices, which he had to dig for....?? I looked and for me to get a full set of nails, would be around $70+. Just basic coffin shaped acrylic with gel coat, and yeah a little length. For that much I would expect designs and fancy stuff. Honestly the work was stellar though, my nails look fabulous, very clean. If you’re looking to spend some money, this is definitely the place.

Just went here for the first time today, and I am in love! Tran Nguyen was amazing, and I will definitely go back to her. Not only did she do a fabulous job, she was unbelievably kind too. Only one other time have I had a nail technician engage me in conversation, and Tran did so comfortably. Thanks Tran, see you in a couple of weeks! :)

Love this place! Techs are so sweet and service is always great! They are always up to date on polish trends too. I have never had to wait long on a walk-in, but obviously make an appointment if you have a time limit.

Make an appointment ahead of time if you’re in a hurry. I’m always happy about the outcome and has a good atmosphere. Dip powder is highly recommended! Great about asking if you’re happy with your set so speak up if you’re not.
