She was patient with me and very knowledgeable. Recently I needed to change my start date and worked with Jay. I visit Aveda monthly for hair services. The students are friendly and always do a great job. The instructors seem like they care about the students and guide them when necessary. Even though the services are very affordable the attention to detail is not compromised.

Perfect for the price you pay. I asked for long layers, face framing, and to add some texture to my long and straight hair. For $15, the haircut was awesome. I was in there for an hour and a half, but I have no complaints since I got the exact haircut I wanted.

Ive had two of my first appointments this past week at this location. One for my lashes and one for a hair cut/treatment. I will definitely be coming back! Madison who performed my lash fill was professional, personable, and informative when it came to the process of lash extensions and their care- and I loved the results! I had my hair cut by Lizette as well as a conditioning treatment, and I loved my experience. She was so bubbly and welcoming, as well as focused and precise at what she was doing. My hair turned out great, and she did a great job educating me on home care of how to reach my personal hair goals. The instructor presence was a great experience to watch, as you can tell they are passionate about their craft, teaching, and the client's needs. They did a great job of coaching the student as needed, giving constructive feedback, as well as giving praise that the student deserved for a job well done. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting quality service while allowing students to learn from their service.

I've gotten my hair cut and colored here many times. Every time it has been a good experience. The students are careful and ask a lot of questions about what you want, and the instructors are helpful with making sure the students know just what to do. The only con is that it typically takes a lot more time, but that's because the students are still learning and have to get things approved by the instructors, so make sure you budget in enough time in your day. Overall a great value and a great experience.

I come here mostly for waxing. I have eyebrows like Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street so I need help and the students have done a great job and the price helps. They are doing an excellent job at keeping people safe during covid with the phone check ins. Thank you to the front desk for helping me when I got confused with the check outs! I did get a very nice facial as a Valentines Day gift to myself and about a year ago i got a great massage that helped me immensely with the neck and arm pain I sometimes struggle with - I felt great for a long time. I did get my hair cut and colored for a couple of years before a friend gave me a recommendation somewhere else. The students that did my hair for the most part were good with one exception and I didn’t ask for her the next time. People who complain need to keep in mind that they are students. They need the feedback and if they are not receptive to your feedback ask for someone else. I know going into any appointment that this may not be like a super spa appointment so I think don’t be a “Karen” if you expect perfection. The students are learning and training. They are doing us a favor for us as well by offering services for a great price so keep that in mind. I have been coming to the school off and on for about 12 years and plan to keep coming back. Thank you for the services I have gotten!!!!

I am an employee at IBW & I scheduled a root retouch thinking I would be coming in for a simple appointment, when in reality I found out my hair needed a color melt. I talked to the student about my previous experiences with my professional stylist and how I've never achieved the color I was hoping for. The student and instructor clearly knew what needed to be done and what formulas to use. I felt very confident in their knowledge and abilities. and was very appreciative of how dedicated they were to fix my hair and do it the correct way!! I can honestly say that my hair turned out better than it ever has before, for a fraction of the price.

I was anxious to get my hair cut for the first time in a while but my anxiety was relieved the moment I walked in. The establishment was clean and beautiful and everyone was wearing masks properly. I received a temperature check and a warm towel smelling of lavender while I waited a whole 30 seconds for my student. Niyesha (I probably didn't spell her name correctly- sorry!) was knowledgeable about curly hair and asked me my preferences on how I wanted my hair to look. Her instructor was attentive but not pushy- just making sure the student's technique and cut was correct and that I was happy. Niyesha washed, cut, and styled my hair curly so I could see what my hair would look like and showed me how she used the diffuser to bring out my natural curls. Felt like a pro salon cut but at half of the price. I can't wait to come back! Note: You can leave some money for the student's styling school fund which means they pay less when it comes time to pay off school. From my understanding it's what the school does instead of a typical tip.

I came to get my hair done after probably 6-7 years of not doing anything to it other than trim once every few years(I know I know SO bad-just so busy!) Katherine (student) and Shari (instructor) knew exactly what to do to fix me up! Absolutely love my hair. My initial experience here was incredibly disappointing there was a miscommunication with the student who was doing my hair and when I expressed my concerns she became highly defensive and generally unprofessional. Her instructor did assist in correcting the problem but when I left I realized I was still very unhappy with my hair, as it was very choppy and uneven and very unlike what I felt I had clearly requested. That said I made another appointment the next day for a corrective cut and the stylist Brooke who worked with me on that visit was phenomenal! She maintained a clear line of communication with me throughout my appointment and clearly understood my concerns as well as what I wanted out of the appointment. She did a fantastic job of blending my hair and helping to cover up some of the roughness from the initial cut and assisted me in how to style it properly.

The IBW is terrific. Last night I had my hair color corrected and cut - the student (Liz) was great, and her instructor (Catherine) was present all along the way. They spent the time with me discussing what I liked/didn't like about my hair, what my goals were and which products I was using. With their expertise, I now have fabulous hair - and the color only cost $70 for highlights and my roots. It took longer than a salon, but they really spent much more time with me than any hair dresser ever has by asking me lots of questions. ***** - top notch!

I love my teachers and classmates but I’m so unhappy with the program itself. Not only am I paying over $10,000 for a 6 month program but apparently I’m also paying to take out garbage two days a week, morning and evening. You would think with all the money we’re paying they could afford a custodian. Also the program is so rushed. I feel like I haven’t had enough time to properly learn something. We once had two days to learn the material before we were tested on it. So much so that I haven’t even finished the courses and I’m already burnt out. It’s also so unorganized. We also only get one day a week to actually get practice. Oh also the education fund is a joke too. One of the guest educators seems like he’s been on heavy drugs since he was in his 20’s or something.also they’re pretty pushy about making sure that you try and sell things. I get it most places ask you to try and sell things, but I’m going to be a massage therapist. I use oil, lotion, and maybe an aroma. I honestly can’t wait to graduate and get my actual education from a job. They also don’t even provide parking for their students.they give you a code that’s good for $1 off of surrounding surface lot.

I live in Boston, but I come here for anything to do with my hair. Yes, it might take 3 hours for a color and trim, but they are students. Did you do anything fast when you were learning the process? This is also why you get the services at amazing prices. I always walk out with a salon quality result, and that's why I keep coming back. This last time I did a Locks of Love cut. That's right, 10" off my head. Olivia kept checking in with her instructor (whom I LOVE) to make sure it was done just right. I appreciate that she took the challenge head on and saw it as an amazing learning opportunity. In the end, I have a style that my coworkers rave about, and it would have cost me at least twice as much in Boston.

I've never been disappointed here. Sure, some of the hair styling has taken a long time... but it's a school; that's to be expected. I have had phenomenal students work on my hair, both coloring and cutting, and the instructors are knowledgeable and offer great advice. I've never had a haircut that I've been disappointed in. Recently I went in for my first facial there and was blown away with the awesome service. Very professional. Highly recommend.

I just went there to get a haircut and I thought it was wonderful. I don't know if any place that you can get that service for that price. You are getting it done by a student but the instructors are always around to help out. Plan for it to take a while because the students are learning but they are friendly and professional so conversations will be easy. I will be back! I had Sasha as my hair dresser and Claire was her instructor and both are great to work with.

I used to go to the Aveda Institute in Denver. I love to support the students! Give them a chance to do fun things with color on long hair. Practice bold colors and techniques. I moved March first before quarantine to Wisconsin. Today was my first time here at the Aveda Institute of Wellness and beauty and it was a great experience. The educator, Amelia I believe, was amazing. She led and guided perfectly. Picked the picture. Guided Cathleen and they knew exactly what I wanted. Jenna helped with dying. Then Ruby with blow drying since I had a reservation to make. Cathleen did a great technique if dryer and curling my hair while I faced away so I had a drastic reveal. I loved it! Picture perfect like pinterest! I'll be going back again! Highly recommend! Five star! Love my Aveda Balayage with the blonde and copper added! Love

I just wanna say i felt very ready and prepared for my future as a massage therapist, I’m only a month in and i have had repeats, mentions from other spas that share a guest i helped, and so many more positive reviews, it really makes me feel like I’m in the right place and have had the best helping hands! A huge thank you to our instructors is definitely deserving. The program as a whole could have been a better experience, and maybe a little less focus on the product sales. But i definitely miss my instructors and can only say positive things about them!

I went to school here for the massage therapy program, graduating back in November 2017. This school is unlike any other college or technical school I've ever been to! IBW's massage program does a GREAT job getting its students prepared for career placement. I had a job secured at a high-end spa 2 months before I finished the program (massage therapy full-time program is 5 1/2 months.) I decided to open my own private massage therapy practice and my instructors from IBW have been there helping me every step of the way even though I graduated 9 months ago! There were monthly meetings where they would inform all the students of what was going on in the school where we would sometimes get FREE Aveda products! I would give this school ten stars if I could. The class sizes are small, so you become a pretty tight-knit group. And how awesome is it get massaged every single week as part of your education?? Great place. Great instructors. And if you're not looking to go to school, but rather get massaged by a student for super cheap, you're in good hands.

The students are very friendly and mostly proficient, I have always been happy with the quality of my service here, but beware, even haircuts here will take about 3 times as long as anywhere else. I once went in for a 'quick' cut and it took 3 hours (my usual stylist does it in 20 min). A cut and color has taken in the past around 6 hours (my usual stylist does it in about 2.5). The prices are agreeable and the services and atmosphere meets the quality you would expect from and Aveda salon, but just make sure you haven't scheduled anything after your appointment!

I went to get my eyebrows waxed today and had a great experience. This was my first time getting a service done at the school instead of at Neroli and I personally felt that the student, Maddie, did a much better job than the last time I got my eyebrows waxed at Neroli. Not only was she extremely personable and outgoing, she took her time and talked me through everything she was doing as well as asking for my preferences on everything. The best part is the service was only $8 and I am incredibly pleased and have found a reliable place to get my eyebrows done.

Results vary depending on the student. I've had an excellent facial from a student who, it turned out, was one day from graduation. Today, I had a terrible facial from a student who should not have been allowed to work on clients: REPEATEDLY dropping cold lotions on my skin without warming them in her hands first, not putting a towel on my hair until 10 minutes into the process, being way too gentle -- she seemed more interested in moving the lotion around rather than sloughing off dead skin and increasing circulation. She just didn't get it. What is the school teaching them?

I've been going here for cuts and colors for 5 years now and would never go anywhere else. It's cheap and I've never been less than happy with their services. You might end up waiting a bit for an instructor, but I've found that the student usually uses that time to give you hand/neck massages or give you a mini makeover with their seasonal color pallets.

I was a student at Aveda IBW in the Massage Therapy Full Time Program. The education I received there was excellent and I felt well prepared to take my boards. The instructors work with every type of a person's learning ability (audio/visual, verbal, kinesthetic, etc.), allowing nobody to fall behind. The program is very difficult, but it is well worth the learning experience and outcomes. The instructors and your classmates become your biggest cheerleaders to do well. Small class sizes are also well appreciated for that one on one intervention, as needed.

I've attempted to contact this location to schedule services. I called on April 7 and received a message to schedule on the app or hold for a rep. I held and after a few minutes the call was disconnected. I went to the app. Had to create a new account and was only able to schedule a basic pedicure not a spa pedicure which I thought I was scheduling myself for. When I checked out I brought this to the self members attention and just received a sorry idk something is wrong with the app.

I researched several schools for Yoga teacher training, and decided on IBW. I can't imagine a better experience! Classes were small so there was a lot of personal attention. The instructor, Shayne Broadwell, is dedicated to yoga and exemplifies the principles in how she lives her life. Some of the special pricing cannot be beat but I don't really feel like it is a great bargain especially because you have to spend SOOO much time there. Groupon deals are comparable pricing and you save time. Here you do not have to tip -even though they ask you to when you check out because the $ doesn't go top the girls it goes to the school.
