I haven't been here in a long time but so glad I did today. The place is very nicely located just behind Bed Bath and Beyond. My service of face wax only cost 11 dollars so very affordable. It was relaxing and they got me in and done early. The student was so professional and the products used lovely. Nice relaxing music played too. And very happy with my results. Can't wait to go there again get more services. They seem to be doing a bit of remodeling the space but it still was a very pleasant visit. Just excellent customer service and nice place.

I had an amazing experience with Sakeena! She really took the time to listen to what I wanted and gave me feedback on what she thought would look best keeping in mind my request. On my first visit she recommended a treatment to help with postpartum hair loss and recommended products to strengthen my hair as well as a plan for the colored look I ultimately wanted to achieve. On my second visit she gave me an amazing balayage and again recommended products that would help maintain the color and prevent breakage. She not only did a fantastic job on my hair but her kindness and sweet personality made the 5 hours at the salon fly by. I was worried about my hair looking streaky and Sakeena made sure my hair was blended to perfection. She was very knowledgeable through the process and about products and aftercare. I cannot wait for my next appointment with Sakeena!

Highly recommend! I went with a group of friends and received a facial and eyebrow wax from Payden. I have never had a facial before and now this is something I plan to do regularly. It was so relaxing and my skin feels amazing! Payden is very knowledgeable and great at what she does. She educated me on my skin, suggested a routine to best keep it hydrated and answered all the questions I had. Also, my eyebrows look amazing!

I have come here multiple times and had decent experiences which is why I gave 3 stars. My last experience was 1 star. I went for a gel manicure for a 7 day vacation out of the country. The student had no idea what their nail options were and did the manicure wrong, which the teacher specifically stated would pretty much guarantee my nails to peel very quickly. Their color options were minimal and I ended up going with a color I didn't even really want, and they were out of one of the colors I chose. I wanted a matte finish, which they didn't have. I was completely understanding the whole way and was super nice to the student as I completely understand she's a student. I got the manicure on Thursday night, they were closed when I got off work on Friday, and I started my trip out of the country Saturday at 5 am. By Friday night the nails were starting to peel. I couldn't call until a week later as I didn't have phone service out of the country. They wouldn't do anything for me as I didn't call within 48 hours. I physically couldn't due to the circumstances. Its also extremely frustrating because within 5 days of my Gel manicure over half the nails were gone. That is a manicure that should last 2-3 weeks but because I didn't notify them within 48 hours nothing can be done? I completely understand they're students and that mistakes happen during learning but I feel the customer service to fix the situation could have been much better. Edit: The customer service has since been much better, and I really appreciate that.

I am absolutely in love with my hair!! I worked with Amanda A today and she crushed it! I am very picky about new people doing my hair but she was so inviting and took the time to make sure it was perfect. I tried something new and was so nervous about the outcome but she was incredible. Also, the environment there was so friendly and upbeat. They have this amazing deal card for only $10 which offers deals on hair, nails, and spa services for a year. Super affordable prices and they did amazing. I am going back next week for my nails and plan to go back to Amanda every time I need a new look! If you are hesitant about going, DON’T! They’re amazing!

After box coloring my hair my original dark brown for many years, I decided to try to let my new grey/ silver come out. With the awesome help of Lilly Cordes I am almost completely there! Lilly explained the best process to do so that I would never have a time of brassy orange hair showing. I had highlights and low lights added. I have gotten many compliments on it all summer long! With new color and cut every three weeks, I just looked like a summer sun color and now am just about to my pretty silvery grey. Lilly does an awesome job with both her colors and cuts. The instructors always checked on us, the value was wonderful as were the products used. This was certainly the best way to make this transition! Thanks Lilly and the Salon Professional Academy! I "discovered" the Salon Academy in September 2021 on my wife's recommendation, and cannot praise it highly enough. I'm of an age that my head has passed through the hands of many stylists and barbers of widely varying talents and skills, but I have never before gotten such superior care as I have from Fargo's Salon Professional Academy! Students and Staff are adaptable, genuinely and pleasantly accommodating, keenly attentive to their clients wishes and desires, and show a particular willingness to learn and apply the subtle techniques that transform a simple haircut into a virtual work of art; and they share skills AND an admiration of one another's work - something I've rarely seen even in high-end ($$$) salons in Washington, DC, San Francisco, Seattle, Manhattan (NYC), or Denver! The camaraderie is readily apparent and inspiring. And here's what I think is their secret: Salon Academy instructors are hands-on, career professionals who demonstrate patience, insight, a solid confidence in their own knowledge, and communicate clearly with their students AND clients in ways unlike any I've seen elsewhere. In four visits I've learned about styling techniques that, to my recollection, I've never had used on me; and to such stellar effect that when I get up from the chair I feel rested, invigorated, and as "on top of the world" as if I'd had a double espresso and a shot of good Canadian rye! Styling and other treatment prices are almost ridiculously low and even with a 25-30% tip the treatment is still below the cost of a cut at other, local, run-of-the-mill "clip joints." And finally this: Hair styling and barbering are government regulated professions, as I believe they should be. Licensing means practitioners have to meet state health and safety standards, although sometimes those requirements border on silly. To wit: Students at the Salon Academy are prohibited from giving customers shaves, despite being trained in virtually every other beauty and styling technique, so that if a customer asks for a shave he has to go to a local barber shop to get one - a service that virtually no barber offers anymore! As I said: Silly! The Salon Academy on South 15th Street and 44th Ave. SW in Fargo, ND is outstandingly professional, customer focused, and a superb value! I am a student at TSPA for the second time. I attended six years ago for the massage therapy program. I am now currently enrolled in the cosmetology program. I came back to TSPA because I love the professionalism of the owners and instructors. They truly bond with each and everyone one of us students. When there is drama, it is quickly addressed and resolved. The facility goes above and beyond for us, such as special trainings for all programs, guest speakers, JUMP parties to reward those who excel in each program. We also get Christmas parties, spring break fun days, etc. I have zero complaints on being a student here. I couldn’t be happier as a student.

The massage felt amazing and was very much needed. Hot stones were hot but if they could've gotten hotter I would definitely not complain lol. I love the heat on my back. The only complaint I have is that I paid for a 50 minute massage and the massage didn't start until 2:15 and they said the massage was done at 2:50. So that would've been a 35 minute massage.

Went for the first time the other week for a massage, and absolutely loved it. The massage therapist student I had was fantastic, really focused on the areas of my back that hold so much tension. The massage therapy area is in a separate area from the main hustle and bustle of the salon so it’s a very peaceful and calming experience. Would definitely recommend!

I am a current student at TSPA fargo. I am excited for school every single day as I am greeted by my amazing staff, wonderful friends and memorable guests. The educators here are fun, caring, and some of the most inspiring people I have come across. We watch videos, have holiday parties, and we also celebrate EVERY graduate. We even get to take classes, and mingle with the other programs like esthetics, massage, and nails. The environment is so welcoming and encouraging, and I recommend all programs at TSPA!

This is a school, students are LEARNING, so if you can't tolerate a possible mistake, I don't recommend going here. Otherwise, it is a GREAT place and an inexpensive salon! Everyone is so nice, they treat you professionally & kindly. My sister, kids & I have been going here for years. I've gotten a couple of bad cuts (they will try to correct anything you don't like!) & some cuts I have loved, but have never had a problem with the service. Again, it is a SCHOOL, so keep that in mind when you schedule.
