I got my bridal nails done at this salon and I really enjoyed my experience! I have tried various nail salons in Des Moines, but have not found a place that provides the exact look or quality I am after until I came to this salon! I showed my nail technician a nail design I was hoping to get, and she painted my nails to look exactly like the image! She was also very personal, and took great care to paint the design to look like the image. While the appointment took a bit longer than I expected, I never felt rushed and I was very relaxed the whole time. I will definitely be back!

Had my nails done here the other day because my normal guy was sick, I can't remember her name but she was a total sweetheart and did an amazing job on my nails. She was very gentle the entire time and I felt bad when she hit a spot on my cuticle area that my cat scratched deeply and seen the concern in her face! I had completely forgotten to tell her and just wanted her to know that she did a wonderful job and didn't hurt me. It was my cat! 😅🖤

My boyfriend and I work in a warehouse on our feet for at least 14 hours a day. I’ve been on a search for a good nail salon for awhile. This place had amazing reviews so we gave it a shot. When we first walked in we were greeted right away. And offered a drink. I also loved the look and design of the building. Everyone that was there was super friendly. They all made sure to make us feel comfortable and hold conversations with us. Also talking us though what they were doing and offering advice on keeping up with our feet/ skin. I had some ingrowns that had been bothering me for a long time. Causing me to walk with a little limp after work. They noticed this and took the time to dig them out. So much pressure was relieved. And I was able to walk completely fine after. They even had some extra lotion from my session and let me use the extra on my hands and arms. Not to mention very reasonable pricing. We Will definitely be back next month. Such a great experience. Definitely will be recommending to everyone!

Although just a walk-in from out of town, they accommodated me on a busy Saturday. Had to write review because of wonderful a job they did. With COVID, haven't been able to get nails redone. This is almost nine weeks now. I can't type, but they still look great!

I really can’t speak highly enough of my experience at Art of Nails! I loved getting acrylics done in the Pre-Pandemic Times, but since we’ve been at home for a year I’ve been abstaining. This week, I had made some (100% socially-distant!!) travel plans and wanted to look a little special. Being new to Des Moines, I didn’t have any idea on where to go, and chose Art of Nails mostly on a whim. Last minute scheduling was a breeze, and I was able to get in right away. Alec gave me a perfect, crisp white pedicure, and his father/salon owner Billy gave me the most immaculate French tip manicure I’ve ever seen. It was a lengthy process, which I appreciated - to me, it showed how much he cared about the work (especially since it was around closing time and it would have been easy for him to simply rush me out.) I was nervous about the base color, as most of the images I had seen online seemed too pink to be a true nude on my brown skin, but Billy helped me find an almost exact nude color that I’ll definitely be using again in the future. Together, we worked out the shape and style of manicure that would look best from the inspired pictures I had found on Pinterest and I couldn’t be happier with the finished result. Overall, both gentleman were polite, clean, and incredibly professional, and I loved the cozy vibe of the salon itself. I’ll be back again in the future!

Awesome and nice staff! They're willing to accommodate anything that you want, all you have to do is ask. Extremely friendly, and remember you when you come back. The work that they do is quality. My nails have lasted 3 weeks at one point. I've been to different nail salons, and this is the only one that I will continue to go to from now on. Would definitely recommend this place!

I had a pedicure and a regular manicure. They both were great! My regular nail polish mani has lasted a whole week without chipping, which is impressive. I was offered a beverage when I arrived, and had a nice view of downtown while I had my manicure.

Great atmosphere, great service! I was looking for a place to get my nails done for my wedding and found The Art of Nails online. It's located in an awesome refurbished second-story loft in East Village, giving it a really awesome and comfortable environment. The staff are incredibly friendly and made my experience so enjoyable! My gel manicure and pedicure have lasted a long time and I will definitely be going back.

Staff was lovely. However, I'm not pleased with my full set. No apex was built and they are so thin I'm not confident in their ability to last more than a week. Also not sure about the acrylic they were using. Also he used to much glue and glued the extension to every finger. very uncomfortable and has some residual singing when I got home. No cuticle work was done. no oil, no pushing back. Granted my cuticles are not bad but oil in the least is expected at the end of any manicure. If you are just getting a manicure with polish you will like this place.

After reading such great reviews and seeing the images of all the great nail art, I was thrilled to make an appointment. Staff was friendly but my desired look was never finished. Waited for a design and was sort of forgotten about. I had to get back out to the meter since I had been at Art for more than an hour. Was told by one of the gentlemen that I could go back the next day to get the palm tree design that was missed on my pedicure. It was a nice offer, if I wasn't heading on vacation. Now my toe just looks like a big blue bruise had to come home and re-do the polish.

We called this place about an hour before my entire bachelorette party came in and they accepted all of us without hesitation. They are absolutely amazing the owner is fantastic I have literally nothing bad to say about this nail salon. Highly highly recommend I am going to get my wedding nails done here without question EDIT: I took down the rating because I went in for my wedding nails, I got dips with jewels on 2 fingers. 1 of the jewels fell off in less than 24 hours. So they very nicely said I can come in to get it fixed. Well the lady put the glue all over which made my then matte nail polish shiny in spots. Besides that a few of them are crooked and I had to color is some spots with black sharpie because she filed down everything too much. Basically dont get your nails done here. The pedis are awesome and the owner is very nice, but dont come for nails. I even met a girl outside woolys who got her nails done the same time as me and she also said they messed up her nails.

Billy and Jennifer are the best, very friendly environment and reasonable price. I love my hairy cut/wax by Jennifer. And their daughter (Jessica) gives the best pedi, I’m very ticklish but she has a very soft touch that I don’t feel ticklish.

Was real busy. I have been going to another nail salon but was in the area and walked in for a mani since my gel was starting to come off on a couple of nails. She did a decent job. Didn't seem to care about giving me a good mani and the color wasn't the exact one I chose cause they don't remember the base color. A little unorganized.

Make an appt ahead of time and get in and out in 15 minutes. Clean equipment, great customer service, fair prices, could you ask for more? I get gel nails and they last almost a whole month every time.
