Nickie’s has done it again. I keep trying to go other places closer to me but the service and quality is never as good as Vickie’s. I had a horrible manicure experience somewhere else and I was able to go to Vickie’s straight afterwards and they redid the whole manicure exactly how I wanted it. Their attention to detail and customer service is better than any nail salon I’ve been to. Thanks for saving my nails yet again!

The lady who did my nails (I think her name was chou) was really nice and took really good care of me. I have a really bad nail biting habit and decides to get nail extensions and she recommended getting the dip nails instead of acrylic as she said it would be healthier for my nails so I went with what she recommended. It only cost about $60 excluding tip and it's been about a week since I did my nails and they're holding up very well and haven't fallen off or anything. Wish I had a picture to show my nails before but it's definitely given me some confidence to finally have a set of nice nails! Thank you so much! I'll definitely be returning once they grow out 🥰 Update: nails are still going strong after 3 weeks :) (see the second pic) I reshaped them as I prefer a more square shape but they still look great! One of them came off on my other hand but that's mainly my fault so I just reglued it on.

So glad I found this salon, my previous salon closed and I’ve jumped around for a few months trying to find a new regular spot until I found Vickie’s. I’ve gotten my mani & pedis here a few times now and am so happy with their service every time. Hannah P rocks my no chip mani & pedi. This is such an amazing place. My friend and I have been looking for a nail salon that could do nail art for at least 3 months. Not only did this place do the exact art that we wanted, they also did it fast!! Amy did my nails and helped me choose the colors and even recommended that I do a different nail shape (other than what was in the reference photo that I provided) to really enhance the design--I'm glad that I did because I like my nails more than the nails in the picture that I gave her! They are also super nice and welcoming!! The first photo is of my nails. The second photo is the reference photo.

Highly, highly recommend this place. I was visiting out of town and made an appointment here. I showed up right on time for my appointment and they sat me immediately. I feel like a lot of nail salons will keep you waiting 30-45 minutes past your appointment time. That was not the case here. Danny did my nails and he did an excellent job. I didn’t get the name of the lady who did my pedicure, but she was excellent as well. The front desk gal was so sweet and bubbly. It was a great experience all around. Will definitely go back if I find myself back in Chicago again.

Came to get a pedicure, I wanted to treat myself so I got the organic spa pedicure. I had a great time, we called to ask if we could be accepted as a walk in and they took us right away. “Little Hannah” did my pedicure (they have a tall and a little lol), and it was amazing. They always make sure you’re liking the work as they move forward. The hot stone massage was great. Everyone was so polite and professional. I got a regular French and it’s honestly the best I’ve ever had.

Decent place, but a lot of the techs are not very good at nail shaping or nail art, so I’d only recommend it for the most basic of manicures. I walked out today with nails of different lengths/shapes. I would recommend this place for a pedicure. Also, their prices seem to keep changing so expect $60+ for an acrylic fill + gel polish.

I’ve been going here for years and I love the service, the staff snd the prices. It’s clean, friendly and they give great manicures and pedicures. Over the years, I’ve used several different nail techs. They are all good. I even brought my 7 year-old daughter. They have 2 mini pedi chairs for kids. They were very engaging and sweet to my daughter. She loved this place too.

The BEST!!! I have been getting my nails done for years and have been to several salons ... but two years ago when I was recommended to this salon by a friend I finally found the best and I haven’t left them since! There is no one better. The service is amazing and relaxing. The whole staff is super friendly and treats you like family. Their new salon is absolutely beautiful, clean, and huge!! Also, the location is perfect and there is plenty of parking right out front. I recommend all my friends. You won’t leave disappointed and my nails are always perfect!! :)

Best place I've ever been to. I have honestly never been super happy with any manicure I've ever had, but yesterday I went somewhere else and had the worst manicure I had ever had. Today I went to Vickies after reading reviews and asked if they could fix my manicure. I had acrylics on and they were unable to redo them completely as to not damage my nails, but they spent the time and care to grind them down to make them look more natural and helped reshape them. Christine spent time to meticulously make my nails perfect and actually checked with me to make sure they were to my liking. I also had a pedicure which was good and the owner/manager came out greeted me and talked with me for a bit, which was a nice touch that showed me that he really cares about how his customers feel and not just that his establishment makes money. The actual place itself is spacious, clean, and nice. The people working there seem like they actually enjoy being there (as much as anyone can enjoy being at work) and not just like they can't wait for the day to be over. The receptionist was warm and helpful. I can't say a bad thing about this place and I've had plenty bad to say about several other places. This is definitely going to be the only place I will ever go again and I will be recommending it to anyone I know. Keep up the great work and great service, and thank you!

I took my 5-year old daughter into the salon for her first manicure/pedicure experience, and I was blown away by the exceptional treatment given by Lisa during our visit. She was courteous, respectful, and very accommodating throughout our stay. My daughter enjoyed being given options, and treated like a little princess. We appreciated how well Lisa showed great attention-to-detail, and made sure that we were comfortable. My daughter already asked to return, and we definitely plan to make that happen really soon. I went to many nail salons in Chicago in the last 15 years, this is the best nail salon ever. Last week, I found this place on Yelp mentioned about the new management and my friend loves the new owner. I decided to try it and I absolutely loved it!!! My first visit to the salon, immediately met by the owner and quickly reassured that I would be satisfied as I have had difficulty finding a salon that does a great job with my fills. A short wait, but worth it. Phoenix took great care to detail in hearing my concerns and needs. He filled my nails with meticulous detail and not rushed like every salon wanting you out the door quickly for $30!!!. He's extremely professional, and did a excellent job. I'm relieved and grateful that I found a great place near by. Salon very clean, staff friendly and very welcoming!

Vickie’s is my go-to nail salon in the River North neighborhood. You can expect both quality and efficiency from them. While nail quality is always my #1 criteria for a salon, Vickie’s also impresses me by how well managed it is (rare for a nail salon). They manage to their appointments, and assign technicians efficiently. I went in once right before having to catch a flight. I told them this in advance and they were able to get me in and out 15 minutes ahead of schedule. I recommend calling to book an appointment in advance. They are generally always busy, and like I said, they book appointments efficiently so walk-in’s aren’t always accepted.

After looking for a great nail salon for a long time, I finally found this place. My acrylic nails were done perfectly; The technician was a perfectionist! They were done fast but detailed, and I didn't have to wait to be taken in even tho I didn't have an appointment and that they were busy. They didn't offer me water or coffee although they did to the lady next to me, I don't know why. But, the nice attention and nails will make me come back again!

I was a walk-in here on Saturday, visiting the city from Green Bay, WI with my boyfriend. We had just finished brekky and I wanted a shellac manicure randomly (I very rarely get my nails done). They were busy and full, and still took care of me in a timely manner and as if I was one of their regulars. The best I’ve ever been treated in a nail salon. Nails were done perfectly and I loved my nail technician. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

I was in Chicago for a long weekend and badly needed my nails done. I went right when the salon opened at 10 am without an appointment and was greeted by the friendly receptionist. I was immediately seated and given gel colors. There were so many! The technician who did my nails was friendly and did a really good job. I bite my cuticles and he did a good job at cleaning them up. He was very neat and checked after each coat to make sure nothing was smudged. Tbd how they hold up over time, but if I came back or lived in Chicago, I'd come back to Vicki's.

UPDATE - My last few visits here have been disappointing. The nail technicians are rushing through manicures! This makes my nails look bad, I get hurt in the process because they are filing too fast and hard and then I go home with below average nails. For the amount you pay for a manicure I don't want to feel rushed and I want the technician to take their time! BEAUTIFUL! This new location is not only one of the most nicest nail salons I've seen in the city, it's also huge! The management and staff has clearly dedicated a lot of their time and energy to open this new salon and it has truly paid off! I absolutely love the work they do and have always had a great experience. You will definitely be taken care of here and feel right at home!

This is my new go to nail salon. The store has undergone a complete makeover since the new owner took over last fall. Mike (the owner) is always there to greet and chat with the customers. The staff is so attentive and friendly. Summer is my favorite tech but everyone is good (rare in a nail salon). The receptionist is really good with color selections and always offer bottled water or hot tea. This place is also BYOB. Win! I love this place!

Let me just say huge shout out to NICK. I walked in today, first time in this salon to get a no chip. I left with a Dip Powder set! And I love it ! Nick casually asked me if I would consider doing the Dip method and him and I believe the owners name is Michael, shared with me all the benefits, and i was sold. Nick was very patient, gentle and professional with his service. I picked an ombre finish and it turned out better than I expected. The only thing I would say is for the front desk staff to be more welcoming and friendly, the two gals seemed nice but Nick and Michael made my visit pleasant.

Moved to a new neighborhood & looked up a nail salon to try. Saw the great reviews & decided to give it a go- was not disappointed! I’ve been to a couple other salons downtown... this one is run the best. They service clients on time, have plenty of chairs and space for everyone, & provide a nice variety of services. I called in the morning & was able to snag an appt after work for a no-chip mani & spa pedi. Good selection of colors & brands, and appreciated the various levels of manis & pedis (nice for when one wants to indulge vs get something standard). The facility itself has a good ambience & is well ventilated, well-lit, and very clean. Staff is professional & friendly, and I am happy with my nail tech’s service. I don’t tend to get my nails done often since I hadn’t found a salon I loved - looks like I’ve found one now!

This space is amazing!! Such phenomenal customer service. Me and my 3 sisters all came in as walk ins on a Friday afternoon and were serviced immediately. Done within an hour although they were very busy. Everyone LOVED their nails. The owner was so personable and all the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Absolutely the best option for Nails in Chicago!! The staff is so friendly and the new salon is absolutely incredible. Everyone is so good and you always feel like a queen! I love their service and their polish selection is great. You can request a color by name and they always have the new colors. The new location is unbelievable. I was hesitant after reading the review below by Nia, but I think she must have mistaken this salon - Vickie's - with a different salon on the Southside called Vicky's (with a Y). I can tell you that I had a great experience. I walked in and even without an appointment they took me right away. I have had a lot of manicures and fill-ins over the years and I thought they did a fantastic job. I also like the fact they are open late. I will definitely be back.
