I got combo brows done by Ann and I LOVE my eyebrows so much! I’ve been wanting to get my brows done for a long time. I recently graduated from college and I started working full time a couple of months ago. I did not mind the price because permanent make up is something I would not be frugal about. I only want the best and I’m willing to spend the extra money on. I love that I save so much time in the morning because I don’t have to put as much effort and time into my make up (my brows always took the longest because I wanted them to look perfect)! Now I can just wake up, do my skincare routine, pop on some mascara and some lipstick, and be ready! Ann was amazing to work with! She takes the time to get what you want for your eyebrows. She is very patient and meticulous with her work. I loved that she was very open to feedback when she drew on my brows. Don’t be afraid to be picky and tell her what you want! She wants you to be happy & satisfied with YOUR brows :) The overall process went smoothly. I felt little to no pain. Should you feel pain, you can ask for more numbing cream. I’ve had my initial and just recently my perfecting session. I’ve scheduled for a touch in 6 months and I’m looking forward to it!

I had been curious about doing... something... for my eyebrows for a while. I felt intimidated trying to find someone for microblading, and ultimately delegated the research to a friend and took a leap of faith. I'm here to tell you there's no need - Kim is the person you've been looking for. Kim has been doing my brows for about 2 years now (4 sessions). She is incredibly talented, and beyond that, she's a dream to work with. Kind, patient, accommodating, has excellent taste, everything I want in someone who is responsible for tattooing my face :) Kim and I have been tuning the pigment color (I have light hair) and the shape over every session. She diligently documents her work, so each time, we've been able to collaborate and build off how the last round went. Kim is quick and efficient, but never rushed. You can give feedback as much as you want and tweak the shape, color, etc. The experience has always felt relaxed, and the studio is clean and sanitary. No one can tell my brows aren't my own, which is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. Whenever I mention it to friends, they're shocked and lean in to look closer. The semi-permanent tattoo has held up well over time, and I love my brows.

When drawing my eyebrows in she really listened to what I wanted and took great care to make sure I was happy with the shape before moving forward. She has such a kind and calming presence that it truly was a pleasure to work with her. I would HIGHLY recommend taking the leap and booking with Ann if you’re on the fence about getting your eyebrows done. I absolutely love the shape of my eyebrows and am looking forward to coming in for my “perfecting session.” It’s also important to note that the studio is very clean and a beautiful space. Kim and Ann are fantastic…friendly, highly experienced and professional. They truly care about giving you the best result with which you will be happy. They are very consultative through the process regarding brow color, size and shape. The salon is immaculate and care is taken to maintain strict cleanliness throughout the process. Disposable blades are used and blade handles are covered with single use plastic covers. Detailed aftercare instructions are explained in detail and provided in print. Would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

I went for my first microblading appointment in May with Kim. She was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything along the way. She talked to me about why she would add lines here or there for symmetry or to balance the arch, so when it came time to do it, I felt completely comfortable. They numb the area, so it was painless, just feels like very light scratches. I just went back for my touch-up appointment a few days ago and am happy with the results. Would recommend!

Kim is a true artist. Starting with a blank canvas, she took her time and worked with me to find the perfect shape. After iterating on the shape to my liking, we carefully selected a color that would go well with my skin tone. She then expertly added very natural looking strokes, resulting in a beautiful finish. I am a man over 40. Fortunately, I have not lost any hair on my head. Unfortunately, my eyebrows have started thinning. What is worse, is that each brow is thinning at a different rate, and they are not thinning symmetrically. When considering microblading, it was important to me that my brows look natural. I chose EverTrue Microblading Salon, because they specialize in male brows, as well as blond hair color. My results look very natural, even up close. They do not look overly-manicured or "done," and the color is a perfect match. A benefit I was not expecting is that my fuller brows make me look even younger. I would definitely recommend EverTrue for men, as well as people with fair hair color like mine.

If eyebrow microblading is what you are looking for then I would highly recommend Ann Park at EverTrue on Oak St. She is patient, meticulous and will ensure you are happy with the finished product before you leave. I came in today for my "perfecting" session which is around 6 weeks after your initial session. Ann really took the time to ensure I was leaving with a perfect product. She really went above and beyond for my brows, especially in the places that have no follicles at all. I cannot wait to see the final product in the coming weeks.

Highly recommend Ann at EverTrue Microblading in Chicago! I was nervous going into my consultation; a semi-permanent face tattoo is no joke! Evertrue in Chicago is the best for brows! Kim is who you need to see...I had my brows microbladed in 2017 (not by Kim) -- it was fine, but the studio didn't seem to very hygienic. Plus it hurt more than I anticipated. My hair stylist referred me to KIm, and what a difference a true professional makes. Very little pain and a beautiful, natural brow shape, which saves me so much time in the getting ready. If you've considered it -- DO IT. Game changer!

She walked me through each step, including showing me the sterilized single use materials to perform my brows, which I really appreciated. The salon is exceptionally clean (and following COVID procedures as well). She personalized my experience by doing strokes and shading, as we discussed. Being a teenager in the 90s I totally abused (read: over tweezed) my eyebrows and now being older they just looked awful. I decided to finally do something about them and found Kim Johnson at EverTrue. Kim advised that I do combination brows to get a natural full look. OMG, I could not be happier. My brows are full and look so natural. Kim was kind, explained the process well and did a wonderful job. The only downside is that parking can be tough, but that is expected considering their location. Also, keep in mind that this is a tattoo so it is uncomfortable, but Kim did a great job managing my discomfort.

Josefina walked me through every detail from the consultation to the first session. She was honest about the healing process, even though I had extensively googled images, which I really appreciated. The results were UNREAL. I was seriously shocked with how natural and real the microblading looked. The second session made them even better. I last visited a well known Microblading place years ago and had a bad reaction during the last visit- now they’re faded and uneven. Jackie was able to color correct them and made them a little larger and more proportional - very pleased! Two notes of advice- plan on wearing a baseball hat the week after because your brows will be insanely dark then flake off around day 6 or 7. Don’t panic. Also the cost is a little more expensive here but your second visit they are Microblading the whole brow again whereas other places will just do a few strokes touch up to the initial. Also got eyeliner tattoos and it is amazing! Will do lips when covid is over!

She talked me through every detail of the process, gave me her honest recommendations for the shape/fill that would look best for me, allowed me to make changes after the initial marker lines were made, and answered any questions I had, all which made me feel completely at ease. Her expertise and knowledge allowed me to trust her whole-heartedly! EverTrue salon is also super clean and beautiful, and followed all Covid guidelines (temperature, masks, sanitization, etc.) which made me feel comfortable and worry-free. After over-plucking my brows back in the 90’s (thanks but no thanks to the awful razor thin eyebrow trend and a tweezer-happy 10 year old), they never grew back to their full potential - uneven and sparse. I tried every growth serum out there and with no success I knew microblading was the best solution for me. Not only did Josefina give me the brows of my dreams, but she also gave me time back in my morning routine, money saved from powders/pencils/serums, and most importantly, confidence!! I worked with Josefina and my eyebrows have never looked better! When I came in, my brows were out of wack and she helped shape them perfectly to my face, and the whole process was very straightforward. It's not painful, only slightly uncomfortable but she numbs you and talks you through everything. The healing/peeling process is about a week, and as long as you are careful to not get the brows wet or pick at them, the color should stay and resurface on your skin shortly after everything flakes off. My best friend had recently got her eyebrows microbladed by Josefina at EverTrue and I decided to book an appointment. I’m no stranger to microblading. I first had my eyebrows done in 2016 by another local business. Never having to shade in or shape my brows not only saved me time, but also saved me money in the long run. Since it had been four years since getting the procedure, I was way overdue for a session. Josefina listen to my lengthy list of must haves (natural looking and wispy in the front, but still full. Dark brown, not black. A natural arch). She sketched out the shape so we could discuss before she got to work. After the numbing cream, you don’t feel a thing, BUT you do hear a scraping noise. It didn’t bother me, but you may want to wear headphones if you are sensitive to sound... after josefina completed both brows, I looked at them and provided feedback for any touch ups or areas I thought may need more fullness (btw josefina is great at listening to your wants and also providing a professional opinion). I went back for a touch up weeks later. I could not be happier with the end result! Definitely go to Josefina if you want amazing looking brows :)

I also wanted some YouTube videos. Why do this at all?..... The back story... After plucking all my eyebrows out in the 90's, I have been left with a thin line of actual eyebrow left since then... Ladies, I know you know what I am talking about. I learned about microblading a few years ago - but it seemed very mysterious and confusing...Is it a tattoo? They cut you? Does it hurt?? A coworker of mine recently had hers done, so I made her tell me every last detail - then I made the decision to take the plunge... Initial Visit: The initial visit I was a little scared - but - hey, totally natural. Josefina took me through all the steps and then drew in (with a pen) what the shape of my eyebrow would look like. Not only did she draw, she measured and looked at all the proportions. From there you get to take a look, discuss and make modifications. Once you are settled and happy with the look - it is time for some numbing cream and a 20 minute wait. Then the magic starts. Lay there and think about your new brows while Josefina does her thing. In my opinion it did not hurt, you know what is happening but it is not very, it at all, painful. She is gentle, asks if you are OK - will chit chat with you or not. All up to you. Then what: Your brows will look INTENSE for a day or two. I was a bit freaked out, if I am being honest. I suggest doing this it on a Saturday morning then binging Netflix for the rest of the weekend while you start to heal. Healing takes a week. Over the week your eyebrows will itch a bit and they "peel" (which is what is supposed to happen). By day 4 you may question your decision... but hold on, it gets better with time. Hold out until the 6 week touch up appointment until you make any major judgments. 6 Week Touch Up: By the time I got to my 6 week appointment, I noticed that my brows had faded significantly from the initial visit. I was told by others who have bladed to be patient - the touch up is where it all comes together. At 6 Weeks you talk about any tweaks you want to make - do you want to go darker or stay the same, etc. At my appointment Josefina went back over my entire brow area. Same as last time I took the week to heal and see how they look - and I could not be happier. Bottom line. It is amazing to wake up in the morning with your eyebrows already on : ) I do still fill them in a bit when I do full makeup - but I am no longer self conscious about leaving the house "without my eyebrows on"

In the middle of 2018, I had my first ever Microblades procedure at Ever True. Jackie was the artist. I was pleased and satisfied with the outcome. I returned today, after 2 years. Same procedure same artist. Again, I was happy with the outcome. My happiness faded as I was checking out and was told that the amount due was $750. Unbelievable!! My first visit cost $525 with a discount I paid $468. Not only was I stunned at the balance, I was also shocked that Jackie was very persistent about me leaving a tip today. I found that to be unprofessional. When I didn’t, she said I could bring the tip, in cash on my touch up visit. Are you serious?! I will never leave a tip after paying $750, nor will I bring one for my touch up. I assumed the price would be the same as before. Way too expensive. Microblades should never cost that much!

I cannot tell you how happy I am with how my brows turned out! The result is very natural, and the shape and color are perfect. This will be a long but thorough review. I just finished my touch up appointment with Jackie! I am appreciating my results and feel so grateful to have beautiful, natural looking, full brows everyday! Eyebrows really shape and change your face. Even if your great with makeup it can take up so much time and effort to fill them in daily (and if your on the oily spectrum like myself makeup just dissipates through-out the day anyways). Some words of advice I have are to be patient with healing and watch how your sleeping: try to prop yourself up so your not turning your face into your pillow while you sleep until healed. Also the serum and gel they give you is for BOTH sessions... I was not told this and used most of it for my first session. It turned out okay but still just a heads up. Lastly if your coming from far away like us try to leave at least 45 minuets before your GPS's ETA. The traffic gets so heavy over there and finding parking can take awhile (try spot hero app). Even after all is done it is normal to still have to touch up a couple places with makeup... places you'll notice but the general public wouldn't. I would 100% do this again with Jackie and recommend EverTrue/microblading to anyone with sparse brows like myself. Update: On my 3rd year with Jackie at Evertrue!
