I really wanted to love my manicure and gel nails but unfortunately 4 of my gel nails have already chipped and peeled off despite me getting them done just yesterday. :( I know it is a school but I was hoping for gel to at least last one week. That being said, everyone was very kind and friendly so 5 stars for that!

I had cut my hair myself and screwed it up pretty good but Vanessa is amazing! She is thorough in every detail. She brought my hair by to life with a deep conditioning treatment. And she gave me the cutest cut. I receive compliments everywhere I go! Thank you, Vanessa!

Messia was my stylist and she was amazing. I came in for a shampoo, conditioner, trim, and blow dry. She recommended some great products for me as well as my niece. And she gave me some great tips to keep my natural 4C hair healthy. The trim was absolutely perfect. I'm sad that she'll be graduating next month. She has a really bright future ahead of her.

Mrs. Morgan is Amazing with her skills and talent. Today I came in as a Demo and all of her students watched from beginning until the end. Mrs. Morgan explained steps and tips as she danced around the crown of my head. That’s what it seemed like she is just so flawless. Very professional and to the point. The service that was provided was as if so was in a five star salon not a school! I should have taken a photo once done. But I got distracted because she wanted to make sure she wrapped my hair . Went in to get a blunt cut with face framing pieces and was unexpectedly very satisfied with my service. Cissa G. cut my hair and she was GREAT and very personable - made sure to double check with me as she was cutting and asked if I had shampoo preferences. The only thing I’d advise is to plan to stay there longer than you would for a regular haircut because they’re students so it might not be as quick.

I've updated this rating and review to reflect both of my visits. At my first visit, I was very satisfied since the student did a great job with my coils, trying a new style with care and grace. The next time, I booked an appointment with the same person. I decided to get a style which required heat for my natural hair. Unfortunately, gentle treatment of my natural hair with appropriate heat use could be improved upon.

I loved my experience and would totally go back! Andrea and one of her instructors, Ms. Lourenco, did a balayage and haircut for me. It took several hours and they were so patient and sweet. It also turned out so well and all for an amazing price, even after tip. So many people compliment my hair every time they see me and it is all thanks to their hard work. Everyone should visit before the location closes in June!

I made an appointment for a stylist who was not able to make it to the appointment. Tenisha to the rescue! I wanted a twist updo for natural hair. She did a superb job. She gave me what I asked for and she was very caring and attentive. Quality plus affordable prices. Can't beat that.

I went into Empire to get a wash and blow-dry, and I was paired with a lovely stylist named Ezra. She introduced herself and asked what I wanted to get done. She explained all the steps to what she was going to do and what she was going to use. She asked if I had any products in my hair. I explained to her I did, and I just recently took my braids out.. She made me feel welcomed and comfortable. We had great conversations throughout the process. She definitely understood the assignment. Thank you, Ezra, for styling me.. ALWAYS excellent service!! Never had a bad experience here & they are ALWAYS pleasant. You get the exact same service as a salon only at cost ! So if you're getting say your hair dyed then you only pay for the dye. I got a full foil & paid $65. at a salon it would have been close to $200. I have long hair so it cost more for product. The 4 hrs it took her to do it then blow dry & style it doesn't cost extra!! Unlike salons the charge you for EVERYTHING!! I've been going here for yrs & NEVER EVER NOT ONLY have I had a bad experience & THEY DON'T HAVE THE SNOOTY ATTITUDE EITHER 😉

Great experience here! Booking was easy and it’s located in a very convenient location. Emily gave me a trim and it was fabulous. She was very friendly and gave advice on products and best hair practices. Also told me what she was doing as she cut. My hair feels a lot a lighter and looks great. Highly recommend empire beauty school to anyone looking for hair services- I haven’t tried the nail or skin services but they offer those too.

Please help out these students! They work so hard and need to get a certain amount of clients to be able to graduate. Every time I’ve been here I’ve been happy with the service :)

I got to have Lilly cut my hair and they were absolutely amazing. I had the best service I’ve ever had and absolutely love the way I feel. They made sure I was comfortable the entire time and I’m so glad I got to have them cut my hair. Also 10/10 recommend getting to chit chat with them, it’s so much fun!

I went to Empire for a keratin treatment. I was scheduled with Ezra. Ezra gave me a consultation and listened to everything I said about what was going on with my hair. She explained all the steps as she proceeded. She was gentle yet effective with the way she washed my hair and detangled. I wasn't planning on cutting my hair, but after her reasoning for the cut, I was comfortable to proceed. My hair came out beautiful. Ezra made the long process enjoyable with lots of conversation and laughs. She has a great spirit and passion for hair!

I have been coming to Empire for 6 years and Tiffany Diaz is my favorite by far. Very professional and attentive, and enthusiastic. Best blow dry ever! We had great conversations! Tiffany made me try all of your offers and I came back for spa facial, pedicure and manicure for the first time in 6 years. And all of it was top notch.That's how great she was. I am soooooo thankful that Boston’s Empire Beauty Salon is finally open again!!! I have not had a decent keratin treatment since it closed due to the pandemic! I have hair again today thanks to the wonderful and talented hands of student Shayla, and the always expert instruction from her amazing instructor Mrs Morgan! This place is the best kept secret around. My hair always looks and feels gorgeous after a visit to this salon. Because students are learning, it may take slightly longer, but you are insured under the eagle eyes and very competent hands of instructors, that students produce perfect results as they learn. I have really missed this place!! I highly recommend you give it a try!!

I had a wash/blowout/silk press/trim appointment with Aida C today. I have 4C hair and this was one of the best salon experiences I've ever had. She was gentle with my natural hair and also gave me a lot of tips on how to care for my hair at home as I'm trying to grow it out. The teachers and other students were very friendly and professional as well. Such a relaxing environment. I have never been more happy with a trim and would highly reccomend booking with Aida C. I came in knowing I wanted to get braids but with 0 vision or reference pics (bad client) and Jessica was SO PATIENT and HELPFUL in talking through what kind of design I wanted for my desired "look". She thoroughly washed my hair, checked in frequently, braided quickly but not too tight and offered a lovely balance of conversation while also letting me relax/chill. This was my first time to Empire and I will definitely be back! The stylist I worked with, Tashayla was amazing! I went for a haircut and eyebrow wax and was so impressed with how professional all the student stylists were (especially considering the majority of their education happened during COVID lockdowns). Tashayla’s scalp massage during the shampoo was one of the best I’ve ever had, I nearly fell asleep in the chair! The educator salon manager, Mrs. Morgan was just the right level of attentive and available to assist the stylists when needed. I felt well cared for and love my new look!

This time Ashely Arellano did my haircut and she did an excellent job! Added to that she was super sweet and attentive to my needs. Rasanjah Bradford and her instructors did a great job with my hair. I showed them a photo of the haircut that I had in mind and they took care of the rest. Before starting they did an assessment of my hair and made sure I wasn't allergic to any products. Then, Rasanjahy did my haircut and hair style with guidance of her instructors. They all were very kind, , and attentive to my needs at all times. I have been going there off and on for over a decade. No matter the Students they have always been professional, understanding and fun people. I have gotten due jobs, Multiservice treatments as well as getting my daughters hair braided. The Teaching staff is attentive to both the students and the clients. I had a long and arduous hair job that took hours and these people were fabulous every step of the way. Fully explaining why certain things were needed and never once did I feel out of the loop or ignored. Just be sure to respect them regardless of them being students or not. They aren’t getting paid for taking such excellent care of your hair so TIP THEM! THEY DESERVE IT! Lizmary R.O. I brought my 5 year old daughter to empire beauty school today for a treatment and braids, she had Maria Gomes as her stylist. Maria was the definition of Professional. She made my daughter feel comfortable and safe with her to do her hair. She described Maria as “pretty great!!!” When I asked her afterwards about her experience. I had a WONDERFUL perm experience with hairstylist Daniela Bernard! I’ve gone to multiple different beauty schools under different companies and have seen many hairdressers struggle with putting in rods and the overall process of a perm. But, Daniel was SO detail oriented, kind, and made sure every last strand of hair was perfectly in its place. There were hairs some even I thought were impossible but she did them! Good job Empire, I hope everyone at the school follows Daniel’s fantastic example!

I got a great haircut for only $11! I don't mind going to schools at all (everyone has to learn sometime!), and Empire was great. Francesca was professional and took her time to make sure my cut was right. The instructors were courteous and encouraging of the student (I have been other places where instructors are nice to customers and horrible to students). Beauty schools do take a bit longer than standard salons because the students need to make sure they are doing everything right, so I'm not sure what all the comments on here are about them being 'too slow'. I would rather them take their time and do a great job, like they did!

Front desk staff was awesome. They were friendly and honest. It took a bit longer than at a normal salon (I got a longer bob with layers), but the stylist was very precise. The product she used on my hair was so amazing I bought it. Very reasonable price for shampoo, cut, dry and product. I will definitely go back.

Empire is a great place to get started with a career in the beauty industry. The school prides itself on diversity and puts emphasis on professionalism. Students are held accountable to a high level of performance. The staff is knowledgeable, understanding and most importantly, it is very clear that they love what they do. The program works in developing skills in as many facets of cosmetology as possible. Students are given resources for employment while in school and the staff really make themselves available, even after graduating. It’s an investment I am really happy that I made, I only regret not doing it sooner.

I hadn't such a great experience here! I hadn't had my hair cut in two years before coming, and my stylist Yleida put new life into my hair! She did exactly what I asked, gave me a trim (didn't cut off extra like so many other places end up doing) and gave me a gorgeous blow dry. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming, and they write down the products they used on you so if you liked it you can go out and buy it yourself! I am going back next week for a deep conditioning treatment. 5/5 for Empire Beauty School and Yleida Silva!

I never wanted to leave once it came closer to time for me to graduate. I loved my experience here, and learned so much from my Pre-salon Educator Ms. Laurenco and Salon Level Educator Ms. Neely. They’re both very intelligent with all courses and explained them all very well in their own ways. If you’re looking for diverse learning, this school is all for you! Hair, Makeup, Nails, Skincare!! I mean.... you get what you pay for. The students were really nice and I ended up getting a decent hair cut, especially considering the price. Main con is you can’t make an appointment in advance if you don’t know one of the students and if you are a walk-in you can expect to wait about an hour to be seen. Also, my haircut took forever (1.5 hours to get my hair washed and trimmed). If you’ve got the time to kill then it’s worth it.

I attended Empire Beauty Boston 2017-2018. I was a part time student doing the night program Monday to Thursday 530-10pm, I loved that I had this option for school as a full time mother of 2 this worked best for me. While there I was able to secure a job at a Salon in Brookline where I started as an assistant and have been a stylist there for almost 3 years now. My time at Empire is something I cherish to this day. They taught me the fundamentals I needed to pass my state board exam and practical, they allowed my creativity to bloom, and when I was stuck they pushed me to be more creative. My night time teacher was Mr. Legge, that man is the most wonderful teacher I have ever had. He knew his stuff front and back, was able to keep us intrigued and wanting more and pushed us to but give up if we couldn’t get something. Overall the school is a great place to get the education you need to pass your state boards, get liscense and start your career as a hairdresser!

Mrs Morgan and her apprentice was so patient and professional. I feel listened to and their services were very efficient. My only wish is that the school will bring back GOLDWELL products. i had a trim here. the student was awesome. very smart and well educated. my haircut looked like a major improvement. my intention is to return in 3 or 4 weeks to hone in on style. i want to compare blow dry versus airdry. i want to change my hairstyle only slightly. i want to ask more questions about hair coloring and perms. i want to discuss style with my stylist. i like discussions about my stylists future plans following graduation from the program.

At first i thought it was gonna be hard but it just a matter of time that you learn that everywhere you go at first it’s scary but then it become your real home! I went through a lot of process a lot of different teachers but it was all for good reason!
