They all seem to follow the same basic process. Their primary goal is to receive honest feedback from their clients, in an effort to perfect our experience. I highly recommend Cortiva Institute. I was given the opportunity to meet with the students as an ambassador of Hand & Stone Clarksville. Brandy Barnes was fantastic! She was extremely professional and welcoming. In fact, all the teachers and staff were amazing. The students were attentive and engaged. I’ve been twice, once for a facial and then for arm wax with student Soyala Foster. Each time I’ve had a pleasant experience. Students and staff are very helpful and friendly. The space is clean, professional and high end products are used. Great place to get good services for less price.

Their program is very thorough and up to date. Brandy and Corey, the directors, took me on a tour and showed me the equipment their students are training with. As someone who has been in the spa industry, I was amazed that their programs cover not only the post skin care appointments, such as recommending products, but they have been training their students for modalities that spas have just now been implementing or haven't yet (LED masks for estheticians). The massage program is also very good. Aside from a detailed and thorough education a massage therapist would undergo for the license, they also offer a lot of study preparations for the MBLEX! I love the support that Brandy and Corey give to their students so they find success in school and their future careers.

I’ve been going here for a few months. I don’t anything bad to say because they are there for you. I feel like my instructor is highly educated and she knows exactly what she’s talking about and helpful. The school has a welcoming environment & makes you want to continue your education. From the administrators, teachers, & students I will say it’s a good place to be and learn. They make it easy for you to learn here, they put you where they feel like you will thrive. My tour was very detailed, they told me what to expect also a serious talk to see if you’re ready. They don’t pressure you into signing up if you aren’t sure.

I was licensed less than 3 months after graduation. Ms Holly was my instructor and she's still an instructor today. I found the school to be very helpful from career services all the way up to administration.

The instructors are tops! As a therapist it is nice to have people that can properly guide you in your field and advise you appropriately based on your area of study. Having Sabrina and Jamie for instructors has been amazing! She is definitely knowledgeable. Would not have made it without her.

Hello, I am Nichelle a recent graduate from Cortiva Institute Massage Therapy & Skin Care School. I completed the Esthetics program and it has successfully prepared me for a career in Esthetics. The curriculum in itself was amazing, it covered everything from holistic treatments, chemical peels, electrotherapy and much more. My teachers were Ms Holly and Ms Maria. They both care a lot about their students and are passionate about teaching. Ms Holly and Ms Maria are very different individuals but one in the same when it comes going above and beyond to make sure you are set up for success for your future in esthetics. They do not play games, they guide you through what needs to be done and expect nothing but the best from you. I really enjoyed the community amongst my peers at Cortiva. The other students were very kind and we all helped one another when it was needed, they really helped me get through the program. Staff is always extremely busy, so if you plan to attend this school I would recommend that you keep track of your assignments and everything that pertains to you and take initiative making sure you are where you need to be. The staff member I admire most is Mr Leo, he goes out of his way and remembers the names of all the students and things about them helping to motivate students throughout their program because it is not easy. I am currently a student at the end of my Esthetics program and the advice I can give is If you actually put the effort, show up and do what needs to be done then you will be successful in this program. I had two instructor's Ms. Shyreece & Ms.Cavette who are great at teaching and helped me push through my exams and assignments and actually cared about my grades. The director of admissions, Mr. Leo is compassionate and very helpful with any issues I came across . These individuals made the process of being in this program comfortable and easy.

I called for an appointment and was quickly and easily provide one on the date and time that I requested. Once there, I was warmly greeted and felt welcomed. I had an appointment for a back facial, which I've had in the past. My practitioner arrived and walked me back to the room. She politely asked me questions and we walked and listened attentively. She was very professional and the treatment was absolutely the best I've ever had. She was quiet, as I wanted relaxation. She asked if I was okay, but otherwise was respectful of my wishes to just relax. The massage portion was out of this world - I could have fallen asleep if she had continued a moment more! I would highly recommend Cortiva Institute for facials and massages. I've never had a negative experience here and will continue to go back. I even buy gift certificates for my family and friends for Christmas gifts.

I think your experience at this school will depend on who you get as an instructor. I am not going to point out any particular instructors but they truly make or break the program and how much you learn as you are leaving the program. The staff overall are pretty cool particularly Leo, Helen and Ken. However, if you are a working professional or very used to a professional environment you may find yourself at odds with some of the schools reasoning and decision making skills. Speaking of work professional the school doesn’t particularly cater to working professional that maybe be seeking a career change. Some of the services that they offer that they use to get you in the door are really only convenient for daytime learners. I appreciate the diversity in age of students though it gives you a chance meet an array of people and personalities. Overall if this is your only option you won’t have a terrible time especially if you have a great teacher but if it’s not your only option definitely spend sometime doing your research.

I have been a satisfied customer of Baltimore School of Massage - before it became Cortiva - for years! I have had nothing but pleasant experiences each and every time I have been there. On the few times that my services were less than satisfactory, someone was always willing to make price adjustments for me - in order to ensure that I stayed a happy customer. I even treated a small group of girlfriends to massages and facials there a few years ago - kinda like a "mini - bachelorette party" - and it was the best experience that we ever had! I have been coming so much that Miss Katherine, who worked on staff and at the front desk, knew me by name and phone number!:) I am happy to hear that the reorganization is almost done - and that I can soon resume my regular once a month facial and massage treat to myself. And - could you PLEASE resume the practice of posting a coupon offer in the Baltimore Sun newspaper?? Thanks!!

The Faculty & Staff are Professional. Mr Leo enrolled me & it was a pleasure working with him. Ms Shawkia was my very first instructor & I regret not putting emphasis on learning what she had to teach. Through those moments I allowed myself to overthink & overreact with young ladies who where all learning more about themselves too. Mr Hank, Ms Amy, Ms Jessica, Ms Katherine, & MR FREDDDDDD I want to say a great big thank you for believing in me, even when I shied away from doing so in myself ! Make sure you do not slack or let up, because the second you do you'll be working twice as hard until you finish....

This school is a 2 for 1 in reference to career fields for me. The staff is very friendly and open to assist. However it is easy to miscommunicate information, so please ask questions when something is unclear. The school is structured compared to what I previously experienced. The school has its pros and cons, but if it wasnt for my instructor, I probably would have withdrawn. My instructor, Myeica Butler, is awesome. She is very knowledgeable in the industry. She is organized and always on top of things. I actually followed her from another school. She is an excellent teacher, and does a great job making the information easy to retain. Ms.Myeica goes above and beyond for her students. And she does whatever she can to make sure her students succeed in this industry. Ms.Myeica is the top instructor at Cortiva, no questions asked.

I'm glad I attended Cortiva Institute. Overall, it was a great learning experience for me . As with anything in life, you have to work hard for what you want, so if you are looking to be spoon fed every step of the way, I recommend you revisit your motivations before enrolling. If however, you want a sound platform for learning, accessibility to information and a preparation for the serene environment typical for the wellness field you are looking to enter, then you are in the right place. I remember when Anatomy and physiology finally "clicked" in my head one day during class and I never stopped falling in love with the beauty of the subject and other subjects. The techniques I learned during massage therapy have been etched in my memory and I still utilize techniques I learned from my very first massage class. The instructors are dedicated to what they do, passionate and are always available to explain when you need answers. Everyone is approachable. I personally even had long talks with the campus director, Hank Blakely about the future of the massage and wellness industry and my plans and career in it. I was impressed that he always made time for me and shared with me his perspectives on the industry and encouraged me every step of the way till I graduated and passed my board exams :) I will therefore conclude to say that I enjoyed every bit of my experience with the school and you can too if you come in with a mindset to work very hard, study very hard and practice very hard. 5 stars from me. :)

She is always helpful and you can tell that she genuinely cares about your career goals. Gemini is extremely responsive to my phone calls or emails, and she always greets you with a smile when you walk in her office. With the help of Gemini, I was able to secure a job offer immediately after graduating. It is nice to see someone who works so hard to help their students succeed.

For me the staff and some of my classmates definitely made my experience at Cortiva a great one. At the Baltimore campus instructors like Kelly, Sarah H, Sarah B, Jamie, Ms. Ineta, and Mr. Ed really show how much they care about the students, they’ll go above and beyond for you if you show that you’re trying. Most of the administration do a pretty go job of helping as well. The program is what you make it everywhere you go there will be pros and cons just make sure you ask all of the appropriate questions and everything you want to know before entering the program so there won’t be any surprises.

Great massages mostly, but I've had as many cancelations as actual massages. Today it was canceled 19 minutes before the time (since 5 out of 7 scheduled students didn't show), but other times I find out after I've arrived. Communication from the staff is lacking, since I've showed up to a scheduled appointment in the past, and was told they weren't doing appointments anymore, and so it was first come, first serve; I believe I got a massage after waiting an hour. A month or so later, I came back early to try to get one, and was told that they were doing appointments again, and since I didn't have one, there was no availability for me. Both changes came without any notice, though they have both my email and phone number. When I do actually get a massage, almost all have been great. Unfortunately, that is somewhat negated by lack of accountability for appointments, and the lack of much effort at timely communication.

My experience at Cortiva was interesting to say the least. I learned plenty from the curriculum of course, but I learned even more about life itself from the instructors. Ed, Darla, and Eva specifically in my experience.. I learned so much just from watching them work and listening to them share their passion for not only massage therapy but also for helping others. The instructors were the best example of what a professional, honest, and passionate massage therapist is, and I'm grateful for their excitement and willingness to pass on their gifts and knowledge.

I am getting ready to graduate BSOM (Cortiva), and I'm really happy that I chose this school to attend. All of the staff here are professional and extremely invested in their students, and there was always someone available to help me with any hurdle I was facing in school-or even out of school. I was facing issues in my personal life that were interfering with my school work. The Dean of Students, Amanda Kasden, went above and beyond to ensure that I still had the opportunity to succeed- she even looked up resources to help me both in and out of school. The support she gave me enabled me to keep my focus and graduate, and its something I have seen with other students as well. I also really appreciated the library. It had all of the resources i needed to do all of my assignments. It was quiet, had a huge assortment of books, and so many computers that I never once had to wait for one. When I felt that I could use some help academically I took advantage of the free tutoring that is always available to all students. I would recommend anyone who is considering a career in massage therapy or esthetics to consider BSOM. They have all of the resources you need right on campus, and the staff really cares- not only do they say that they are there to help, but they really stand behind it! If you are willing to put in the work, they will help you succeed!

This school is the best. Instructors are very helpful and are great at sharing knowledge. Mr. Leo and miss patricia are great at informing sharing and showing new students around and enrolling i felt very comfortable and every question answered.

My life has changed because of this school and the staff, namely, Michelle Whitley, who worked diligently to go above and beyond to help me learn and excel above any goal I have ever set for myself. From the first day, they have instilled confidence in me that I would have never reached for. After graduation, I took the MBLex test and failed. I was faced with overwhelming disappointment. My confidence plummeted. I gave up! I felt I would never be able to pass the test. Shana Bousquet called me and encouraged me to come down to the school to see what we could do to help me get back on track. Not only did she take the time to get me hooked up with tutoring, but she pushed me to accept that I could pass the test and knew the material. As I type this review, I am now Licensed and have passed all testing criteria required! I am a LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST! I am proud of where I am and looking forward to where I am going. Wow....I am shocked to see these reviews. I attend the York Campus (quickly approaching 6 month mark) and my experience has been vastly different. I would suggest as a student you will need to emmerse yourself....the class room isn't the only place to learn. Make sure your hands and eyes touch massage daily beyond your classroom experience. Good luck fi ding the correct path. 🤗

Very disappointed. I booked an appt a week and a half prior. When the appt was made I requested a morning appt for a facial and massage but the young lady I spoke with informed me that there were only afternoon appts. After getting here I was told I could not get a massage due to orientation.... Not to mention there's a picture of water in the waiting room but no cups available. The lady at the front desk has no knowledge of Anything pertaining to the facility. Not to mention the guy sitting beside her texting the entire time. VERY DISAPPOINTING AND DON'T KNOW IF I'LL RETURN.
