American nails is literally the best salon around. I started getting my nails done here in april and I came with busted weak nub nails that I constantly picked at. Thang and everyone here never judged me and took care of my nails and cuticles. Over time I’ve been able to grow my natural nails out and now they’re super strong. Thang is game for any design and puts such good time and care into your nails. I have recommended all my friends here and will continue to only get my nails done here!!!

This is the only place I go for my nails in the area. The owner is a highly skilled nail tech who has hand painted some amazing images onto my nails. He has also assisted me with keeping my natural nails healthy. I recommend this place to anyone looking for wonderfully skilled and friendly service.

Had my nails done this morning with hard gel. Looking at them at home I realize they are not done closely to my cuticle. They look as if I already have grow out. I’ve been coming for awhile and I tip well. All I’m looking for is an attractive, natural looking nail that will look nice and last for two weeks.

This is the absolute best nail place I have ever been to! I had my nails done at a different nail salon 3 days before my wedding and they turned out terrible. I contacted Thang (because of all of the excellent reviews) and he was able to fit me in last minute and complete redo my manicure. If you're in the Asheville area and need to get your nails done, I cannot recommend American Nails enough! I've been exclusively coming here for nail services since I moved to the area about a year ago, and they are fantastic. Thang, the owner, is incredibly talented if you want intricate nail designs, and his attention to detail with everything really elevates the experience. Sometimes (most times!) I show up with no idea what I want to have done, and he always comes through with great ideas that end up looking amazing - see my attached pic for his latest creation, which honestly doesn't do it justice. (Sidenote - these are my real nails! I haven't chipped or broken a single once since coming to this salon) It's clear that he's really passionate about what he does, and as a business owner, he goes above and beyond for his clients. I've also been serviced by pretty much every other member of the staff for manicures and pedicures, and everyone is professional and really good at what they do. It's clear that the meticulousness that comes from the top is instilled in the rest of the team. The sense of camaraderie and friendly atmosphere makes nail appointments a pleasant experience; I'm there frequently enough that I feel like I truly know the staff. The convenient online booking system not only makes booking appointments super easy, it also ensures that when you have an appointment, it starts on time. AND the prices are more than reasonable for what you get. There's a reason they can be booked out weeks advance, so I definitely recommend getting on their schedule sooner rather than later!

Had a little bit of confusion when getting my nails done here. My original nail technician didn’t understand I was going for the Hailey Bieber nails. And I ended up with very silver chrome styled nails. However, a different technician was able to fix the issue and redo them! He made sure I had the perfect nails for my wedding.

I’ve been going to American Nails for over a year now and they really are the best. Their salon is always clean and tidy. They use the sanitary basin bags for pedicures and autoclaves plus surgical disinfectants for cleaning their tools. Their staff is super friendly and caring. They keep up with the latest trends, techniques, and products like chrome and cat eye polishes. And the best part, they take appointments and actually keep them on time (unlike other nail salons that will take appointments and then let walk-ins go ahead of you). I’ve never had to wait when I’ve booked an appointment. And most importantly, they actually care about your nails and use only the best products. Thang made a point to work with me and repair my nails after they were badly damaged by Avante Beauty Lounge. Now my nails are much stronger and healthier. Highly recommend!

Really nice place ☺️ they had us wash our hands upon entry, and I appreciate their thorough dedication to cleanliness. The place was spotless. The technicians were so sweet and friendly, and the massage chairs were great! And thank you to the technicians for getting my mother in and out on schedule, without feeling rushed. I have been looking for a nail salon in Asheville that would give me a similar experience/quality of my previous salon that I went to before relocating and American Nails AVL surpassed any expectations I had. They worked me in as a walk-in within 5 minutes and were so kind. I had a male nail tech (I didn’t get his name unfortunately) and in all the years I’ve been getting my nails done, nobody has been as meticulous as he was. I get acrylic overlay on my natural nails with gel polish on top and the set I left with today is truly the best looking set I’ve had in years, maybe ever. He was such a perfectionist and my nails are absolutely wonderful. I had a wonderful experience and this salon has earned a new loyal client!

The salon was clean and well lit. I didn't have an appointment so I chose to wait. The wait time was short. The staff was friendly. I went for a gel manicure, to have old nails removed and new ones put on. The tech was extremely rough and nicked or cut five of my cuticles. The polish didn't go down one side of my finger and I didn't notice it until I got home. I was slightly surprised that one person worked on two people at a time leaving one working on the othe r and then returning. So I spent some time waiting which I thought was weird.

Had a gel manicure gift certificate from here for Christmas. So I decided to use it and have a pedicure also. They decided to do both on the pedicure chair. I'm Tall. I looked like a chicken in a pan. The woman doing my nails didn't even try. Did even push back my cuticles. The ladies working on me didn’t make me feel welcome. In fact, they made me anything but.

I loved my nails but was charged $20 for a soak off and $5 for a special shape when the shape was my natural nail, no extensions and just getting gel. Just something to keep in mind before coming here, im from NY and they dont even charge that much. I came in with 3 people for an appointment and the owners were so kind. The environment is clean and this place is busy so highly recommend an appointment after considering the above.

***UPDATE*** The owner Thang called me and apologized and offered to re-do my nails and they came out ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I'll be coming back for sure! Great conversation and great nails! I'm obsessed! ***** I really wanted to love this place because of all the reviews but unfortunately that was not the case. I went to get the gel with extensions with an almond shape and a design. When I showed the design to a few of the employees they told me to wait for Tran to see if he can do it. I showed him the design and he explained to me that it would be $5 per finger and if I really wanted to spend that much. I told him money wasn't a problem as long as he can do what I wanted. He seemed annoyed that I still wanted the nails, but proceeded to do them. Unfortunately the nails were all a different shape and some were chunky and some were not painted well and it was just overall frustrating. As well as the base of my nail being super red and painful. I got 4 of my nails with a design and it did not look like the pictures I showed him. It wasn't worth the $70 before tip (which I always tip 20%+ regardless). I'm sure if you get a regular manicure they do a great job. I just wouldn't recommend this place for designs or gel extensions.

This is the only nail salon I will ever go to in Asheville. The owners make you feel so at home and comfortable. I wasn't able to come in for a couple months but they remembered me and what I like when did come in again for an appointment. They treat every customer like family. I am diagnosed OCD and I always find imperfections or symmetry issues at other nail salon, but my nails are always PERFECT here. They have so many unique colors amd designs. I had the color changing polish and it is so much fun! Everytime I look at my nails they look different and cool. This is the only nail salon in Asheville I will ever recommend!

My nail tech was Lynn and she was just wonderful. She is super soft spoken, but funny and kind. She's got a gentle touch, is meticulous with the polish, and gives a solid hand massage. She took my swamp monster paw from COVID-DIY to something recembling a human hand. I'm very pleased with my first experience here. The payment experience is cool, easy to tap the screen with your fresh nails and they offer a printed, text, or emailed receipt. It's strongly recommended that you book in advance. They're too popular to walk-in. Bonus: Today I learned gel isn't the cool thing anymore and all the cool kids use the powder dip stuff. Trying that next time!

I was excited to try them due to the high ratings of the reviews online but I was slightly disappointed. If you're going to charge more than most places for a basic type of pedicure, then you should at least do the same stuff you get everywhere else, if not more, as the price is higher! I've never received a pedicure without a base coat applied before & most places put moisturizer on your legs & feet after a scrub but neither was done here. Probably won't use them again & definitely don't know how they won "best of" in Mountain Express a few times.

Had a really great experience here! The owner, Thang, was really knowledgable and impressive. He kept everything running smoothly, paying attention to everyone’s needs, answering the phone, and providing INCREDIBLE work on nails. Also FYI - it seems like they’re having recurrent issues with scheduling two people at once through their website. I hope they can get that fixed, but make sure to book 2 separate appointments on the website if you’re bringing 2 people (it won’t just work to add 2 manicures to 1 appointment). It wasn’t an issue for me as I was alone, but it happened with 2 separate parties while I was there!

I scheduled an appointment online to get a gel polish change for my toes, and didn’t realize I pressed the wrong thing until I arrived. They were very accommodating despite my mistake and provided the service I meant to select. However, I told the man who performed my pedicure that I’m pretty ticklish and to please go easy if possible to avoid any twitching on my end, which he did not do. The coats of polish were also applied unevenly, you can feel where the polish was applied too thick in one area and too little in the other, my toenails look patchy, and he was clearly in a rush. Thang and Shevelle run such a beautiful and genuine business! I came here to get my nails done for my wedding! I got a regular pedicure and a dip extension manicure! When I 1st went to America Nails AVL my nails were in bad shape. They were thin and sensitive after the last salon jackhammered them. I called American Nails AVL, and spoke with Thang. I explained my situation, and he assured me the America Nails AVL crew could help. When I went in the 1st time I was helped by Lynn and WOW! She spent an hr and a half on my nails. I love this place for the super friendly folks, neighborhood vibe. I’ve had great pedicures here and they do really nice work with gel. I got my first SNS dip powder manicure here, and I will say that it went on much thicker than I had asked for, lasted about two weeks before starting to get cracks, and was totally shot by three weeks. Photos are of all the damage at three weeks. Granted, I’m pretty rough on my hands, so I have no idea how well my new SNS job will last (from another place in town, which was $15 cheaper). We’ll see how it all stacks up. Edited to add: my SNS from another place has now lasted 2.5 weeks of heavy use with zero cracks/chips. Compared to this one, American Nails just didn’t hold up, at least with SNS.

I recently moved to Asheville from Brooklyn, NY and was so worried about finding a nail salon that I liked. I'm very picky about the shape of my nails and although gel manicures are supposed to last 2 weeks, I've struggled finding salons that gave me gel manicures that actually lasted that long. I came into the salon 2 days before Christmas. I love the online appointment booking system. It's so easy to use. I think my nail tech's name was Danny if my memory is correct. He was friendly, did a great job on shaping my nails and my gel manicure looked great for more than 2 weeks. I'm on day 16 and only one nail decided "it was time" and started peeling up. I also met the owners of the salon during my appointment and they were both very friendly and inviting. I'll definitely be making this my go-to nail salon in Asheville!

I took my daughter here so we could both get pedicures. They were more friendly than any other place I have been in a while. Very engaging in conversation and did a wonderful job. I opted to get my daughter a manicure too which cane with a shoulder massage! The pedicures had the best leg massages I've ever had and the gentleman used a timer to ensure each leg was equal. I'll be back as a loyal customer.

I could not reccomed american nails more!! I always go to phillip and he doesn such an amazing job, he is very dilligent and never rushes, I always leave the store feeling happy. The store has a very welcoming and clean feeling enviornment. They have so many polish,gel and dip choices and phillip is always willing to do some sort of cool design for me. They are kind of on the pricer side but it is 100% worth the extra dollars to be taken such good care of.
