I do like the modern nails location. It's clean and the staff are nice. They do accept walk ins and or appointments. The owner is Sunny and May (husband and wife). Sunny paints my nails normally and May just did the pink set on me. They have 4-5 staff working daily to assist with customers. When I come here I normally am their for 2 hours. Below I attached photos of my latest designs. The pink is a shellac color that I got on, August 15th 2022. I have glitter, chrome on my nail right now. The red was from July 24 2022. I spend about $100 for a pedi shellac and mani shellac. At this location you can use your debit or credit card if it's over $100. They do have an ATM I can use to withdraw cash and NO FEES! *The only negative part is recently here, I have to come back within 3 days to have them take off the shellac and repaint it. The polish will lift or chip (Due to them not using enough layers) and one of the owners give me a dirty look. But hey! I didn't paint my nails YOU DID! It's a real inconvenience when it happens constantly.

I absolutely ADORE this place, they always do my nails just the way i want them to and they always turn out STUNNING!! they have such a wide range of powders for acrylic (like my nails), which is something i don’t often see at other places. super sweet staff as well, i’ll always recommend this place to others :)

I absolutely love coming in to see Mae! She knocks it out of the park every time! I am able to wear my nails for 3 to 4 weeks with no chipping, peeling, lifting or snagging on my hair! When you find your place, you go nowhere else !

I had an appointment before my surgery me and my Mom went in, and all the staff were so kind and welcoming. I had the Ice Dancer Pedicure Treatment and can I just say… my feet have never been smoother. It felt amazing!! My Nail Tech who did my Acrylic Fill was SO sweet, smiley, and accommodating. They work so hard and perform amazing services (and are so on trend) 😍 10/10 from me!

I have been seeing ombre nails all over and when I was about to get my regular dip nails. I was searching through pictures and asked if they could do ombre and they said "you show us a picture and we can do it!" And it looks exactly like the picture I had! I keep taking pictures of myself holding stuff lol She really cares about the work! Can't wait for my Halloween poison apple nails!

They got us in right away and timed it so my boyfriend and I were done at the same time. They were very meticulous in painting and shaping my nails. The massage was great and relaxing. Playing HGTV is always a plus and my boyfriend enjoyed his mani/pedi as well! Service was great and they responded to all of our requests! Will definitely go back☺️

I have been coming here for over 3 years now, both by myself and with my Mama Bear. They always have great service and so friendly. They're very clean and they do a superb job with all of the steps of whatever service they are providing. Mae and Sonny are my mom and I favorite here! They always greet with a smile and a really make us feel at home. Hot Tea or coffee and it is such a relaxing atmosphere here. Good place to pause and pamper yourself. My mom and I refuse to go anywhere else. Highly recommend!

I'm from anchorage and wanted to try out a different salon. Called and made an appt with Sonny (the owner). Seen good reviews of someone else who had shellac polish and the "shandy crystal" on their nails. This was my first time coming here. It was clean and they remodel. Last time I came here it was for a doordash drop off. Anyways, appt was ON TIME. Nail tech (seven) didn't speak much English but he did a good job with my toes. Only spent 2 hours here which is normal. Got a basic pedi with shellac and a mani shellac with dip powder (shandy). Pics below. Technican used CLEAN instruments. Oh my goodness!! I love their location, services, and cleanliness! Seriously, if you’re worried about masks and cleanliness, theirs are the best standards I’ve ever seen. Walked in and they are washing and sanitizing and they did an absolutely stunning set of nails on me. Seriously my favorite set yet. And their prices beat Number 1 Nails! And they are far more professional and renovated.

The woman who did my nails gave me exactly what i had asked for, she took her time, and she kept checking in with me to make sure I was happy with what she had done. The place and equipment was clean. Very happy with this place and what they did with my nails.

Walked by with my dog and the door was open. Asked Sunny (who I didn’t know ran the place) if they were accepting walk-ins during this time. He said yes. Told him I would drop my dog off and be back. Went home and read the reviews about this place. I came back at 6pm and met May. I let them know they had great reviews and I even read one to them before we got started. I’ve been out of the nail game for a minute... I showed a few pictures to May and we got to it. I didn’t like the color we chose, I didn’t like the way it was looking, I switched it up....yeah I was that client. But May-she was so sweet and never showed irritation or frustration. She worked with me and told me ‘next time’ do this or say that first. Told me that she wants her clients to LOVE their nails...and I do. I will be going back and making new friends with May and Sunny.

I've been looking for a new nail shop to go to that's closer to home, and I think I may have found it! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, making sure they understood what I wanted. They did a great job on filling my acrylic nails, trimming my cuticles and I also got a wonderful pedicure. All of thr services I had done were very good, and the prices are good too. I will definitely be going back here again!

This was my first visit to modern nails and I got the exfoliation pedicure. Im very happy with the service. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere overall was nice. Will go back again!

Took their time didnt rush and were very personable. They also did not clip my natural nails all the way down. They saved my length and worked with it. They also were very gentle taking off my full set as I'm gonna be starting a labor intensive job and cant have long nails if I wanna avoid getting hurt. And the best part was they took off my moms acrylic tips and applied acrylic directly to her natural nails which she loved. Their really gentle and good at getting ingrown toe nails out. Highly recommended esp if u dont want to go somewhere they just rush u in and out. Not crazy expensive either. Good prices! Thank you May for being a great manicurist!

This is my wife's favorite nail salon in Anchorage, she gets pink and whites here every time and has her feet done every other time. She loves this place.
