James is one of the best barbers ever, he takes his time and very precise and detailed with the style of the cut. James also does wonderful work with with shaping my head up with the razor for a clean cut. The way he stykes my beard with it is very professional. He also twisted my dreads for me. Sam is the new girl. She did my hair amazing! She is versed in all styles. Don't judge a book by its cover!!! This girl can cut!!! Her versatility is amazing. Super chill down to earth and understanding of how people would want thier hair done. Every haircut is not the same. And she delivers the best quality haircut and razor work I have ever had. I think this place has some of the most talented barbers and grooming experts in the city. Whether you're looking for a fresh shape up or a close shave, these guys (and gals) know how to keep you looking your best. They even sell a small selection of grooming products, especially for the aspiring or expert level beardsmiths (get the Lure Zone Beard Oil). They're not your typical stuffy grooming lounge, where you can only get in by appointment. You can schedule a time or just drop in and someone will take care of you.

5 stars no doubt ! Sam did a perfect job on my haircut I’ve went to 2 places here in DC and although there haircuts where good they were definitely not perfect like the one I got today from sam . She is patient and takes her time to listen how you want your haircut like a great barber should . She really try’s to give you the best cut she can and It definitely shows ! I almost never complain, or put a negative review. But their haircut is really bad.. It looks so awkward and embarassing..someone on the street literally shouted "nice pineapple, bro." as soon as I walked out (which was 5 mins ago). Not only that, it is very unevenly cut. The guy that cut my hair already had another appointment lined up, so he rushed me real bad. Feels like a waste of 40 bucks and 40 minutes. The three stars are for the hard work that guy seems to be putting in - there was a customer right before me, and right after me, so the guy had been standing for 3 hours straight.

My son got married Saturday. My son and I, along with his father in law, and his two best men went to Signature Cuts and Shaves to get a pre-wedding shave. It was a great experience. The people at Signature treated us very well and we had 3 people doing the shaves for us. Great shaves and great experience. Absolutely recommend it for pre-wedding shaves and will stop by for another shave when back in DC.

HIGHLY recommend this place!! Gerric cut my hair and did a great job, very good attention to detail. He was also very welcoming and is the type of barber that won’t let you get out of his chair until you feel like it’s perfect.

The people there were really friendly and welcoming. But niceties aside, the cost of haircut is too high for the quality. My haircut wasn't bad, but it was okay. Definitely not a $60 cut. I would not recommend this place especially if you have long hair and want to keep it long. I ended up with shorter hair than I had asked for.

I called last minute and said this for a wedding and wanted to treat my groomsmen to a cut and shave. She not only accommodated my last-minutes request, but when we arrived, she provided champagne! More importantly, I had a diverse cast of men and the barbers were more than capable of handling it. I've been to lots of barber shops and there aren't enough places that really know how to make short hair look great. It's not about an even cut. It's about paying attention to the head you're working with. That said, this place will give you an amazing cut in a relaxed, friendly, classic barber shop atmosphere. I totally suggest Gerric as your barber but regardless, you won't be disappointed. Oh, and be nice to Ms June at the front door and she'll give you an unforgettable smile!

I went to Signature Cuts and Shaves twice now. Both times the experience was average. The first time the barber was late arriving to the appointment. The second time I booked an appointment with the owner owner and head barber Julian but when I got there they said I had to use Lee another barber. Overall, he did an average job he kinda rushed through the service.

I went to Signature Cuts on March 18th, 2021 and they did me very well. From the moment you walk in and are greeted by a very nice lady with a smile that you can see through her mask to the end of your cut. This LGBT friendly black owned barbershop is one that I definately recommend! Although it is a bit on the pricey side for non-city folks it is well worth every penny and keeps the old school barbershop feel before Sports Clips and Great Clips became major chains. This barbershop really reminded me of getting my haircut back home and where the most inspiration in my life started. I 15/10 recommend this barbershop especially for their 15% Military discount. The nice lady at the register is fairly enthusiastic when it comes to giving military personnel their 15% off. Are you LGBT? Are you military? Stop by Signature Cuts and get your haircut today!

My barber Jon is one of the best barbers to ever cut my hair and left me feeling like a million bucks. Even got checked out by a cute girl on the way home. Julian did a cut and beard trim on me.The result was amazing. He trimmed my beard perfect. The haircut, just as great! The shop has a good feeling to it, nice and relaxed. I've been receiving a signature look from Julian for a year now, since they opened in 2016. Julian never fails, and gives me an excellent and consistent cut every single time . I get the executive cut every two weeks which includes a wash/shampoo, facial, trim, plus styling which is all worth it. This is not your everyday "barbershop", the staff and owner Julian make ALL people feel welcomed so you can be yourself. Several barbers/stylist work here, and I've seen most of them work while I was in the chair, anyone you get, you'll receive quality cuts across the board!

Made and appointment the day before with the owner Julian and the next day I came in and made me feel very welcome when I came in along with the other barbers. Waited a little bit to get started but I didnt mind because Julian gave me a great fade, shaped me up, washed my hair with a hot towel, and styled it up. It's great having a neighborhood barbershop that delivers a super fresh cut at an affordable price. Julian and his team are skilled, personable, and willing to go above and beyond to get exactly what you're looking for. I have some anxiety trying to explain what I want to a barber because I'm not one, but Julian and Andy C (my usual go-to's) always listen and provide honest feedback about what will or won't work for my hairstyle. I do wish they sold a few more products than just American Crew brand, such as Baxter of California and Malin+Goetz. This is a black-owned business in the middle of an increasingly gentrified neighborhood. Support these guys 💯 DC!

Have had three haircuts here now. The place is affordable and the barbers knowledgeable. Is it the absolute best haircut ever? No. but with every other shop in DC charging $45-95 for a men's haircut of the same quality, I go back here.

After having the latest of a recent series of bad experiences with a "hair appointment," Julian saved me from being a hermit for the next 2-3 months. See, before I showed up at the Signature shop I felt uneasy about what I couldn't see had just happened to my head at the other salon. I had thought, maybe it was just my head or just my hair, insecurities a plenty. Alas, it was neither. Clearly I was in need of some life saving class to avoid any further ridicule. I appreciated the sympathy and the kindness of wanting to help a fella out with a bad look and being able to fit me in to the schedule. Definitely will be going back.
