I definitely had a 5-star experience, I’ll just start there. The vibes were lovely, the atmosphere was great, and the barbers were funny - everything you’d want in a shop run by queer women. I went in for an undercut with a simple design. This was my first haircut and as a person with a lot of thick 4C hair I’m always nervous about whether a stylist can actually do what needs to be done. Angelique did what needed to be done. She was patient, understanding, and chill. I had no idea what I needed to ask for, but Angelique had me the whole way and checked in to make sure I was getting what I wanted. I loved the results immediately. A few days later, I’m still getting compliments. I even ran into a stranger at a coffee spot and overheard her mentioning Lady Clippers and that she would get an undercut. I showed off mine, told her how much I paid, highly recommended the shop, and assured her that she would love her experience too. The prices are fair, the experience was fantastic. Do I have small critiques for the cut, sure - but I know the next time I visit it’ll be even better.

Love this barbershop. Friendly, clean, and always good vibes. Been going here even before Lesley had her own shop and now it’s a welcoming space for all type of folks to get fresh cuts. Her other barbers are also friendly and talented. Been referring friends here for years and now there’s a gang of us who go to her shop regularly. Her and her barbers ways make sure you like your cut and goes slow on your first visit. Make an appointment bc they go fast!

lesley gave me a haircut today and i could not be happier!!! i usually just shave my own hair off at home but wanted for a change to get a nice professional cut. i didn't have anything in mind and felt a little anxiety going in because this type of service can come with some awkwardness and judgment as a trans masculine person but from start to finish my experience here was fantastic! lesley helped me figure out what style i wanted and i came away looking so fresh and sharp i felt like a whole new person! extra bonus points that she was respectful about me being deaf and using an interpreter (LOTS of people in that situation only talk to the terp and act as if i am either not there or incapable of making my own decisions!), and that they keep masks on hand for anyone who comes in and needs one -- really made me feel like they were a thoughtfully run shop who cares about their clientele! i been walking with an extra bounce in my step all evening and will DEFINITELY be back!

My hair was at the small of my back when I decided to cut it and Daisy did a fantastic job. We worked with a few ideas I had came with and voila! This barber shop was is amazing! Beautifully decorated, clean and customer service on point! Leslie did such a great job on my hair, I’m taking my mom back to her in a few weeks lol the shop is woman owned. They are booked and busy so schedule your appointment in advance and come through. You will not be disappointed! Heads up: parking in DC is hell. Arrive to the area at least 30 mins in advance in case you need to for some and don’t want to pay for a garage.

Gabby is AMAZING. I have literally never gotten so many compliments on my hair in my life. Even two or three weeks post-haircut, I was getting daily compliments. Why would you EVER look for another barbershop when you have Lady Clipper? The barbers/stylists are amazing! I don’t even have a favorite because they ALL are truly talented. As a fellow small business owner, I appreciate Lesley’s vision, her ability to lead, listen, learn, execute and continue to find joy in cutting hair. I’m only 20 mins from the shop, but next month, my family and I will be moving and I’ll be over 50 mins from the shop and it doesn’t matter. Lady Clipper Barber Shop will be well worth the drive! Woman owned! The staff are friendly, professional, and very skilled in all hair types (yes, curly and 4C hair too). Appointments are easy to book through their website. The shop is very clean with displays of art from local DC artists (the art is also for sale). Masks are required :)

She has always been so professional while keeping a great relationship with her clients. She really cares about her clients and supports them in anyway she can! She holds events for artists, showcases artwork and has networking events at the shop. She brings so much to the community. Don’t get me started with the superstar team she assembled! I did a lot of research before I was blessed to find this shop! “Lady Clipper” Leslie (the owner) gives you an idea of what to expect from the top-of-the-line treatment that you receive from her especially since she makes you feel welcomed even before walking through the door! It gets better after you arrive because you’re greeted with warm smiles & a clean relaxing environment. I was fortunate to have Gabby (nicknamed “Smooth”) as my barber. Her hands were so light with the clippers that it felt like she was barely touching my scalp/hair. Needless to say, I can’t wait until my next appointment!! My 14 yr. old niece who is EXTREMELY tender headed, was in GOOD hands with Ms. Jo. I loved the fact that Ms. Jo took the time to talk to her & ask her what she wanted done with HER hair. Prior to coming to Lady Clipper, she would be in excruciating pain every time someone would attempt to do her hair which caused her & everyone else to have A LOT of angst! I found Lady Clippers on Google because I had just chopped off all of my hair a week prior. My hair wouldn't loc, and it had been thinning for years so I cut it. My appointment was with Gabby. She was so cool. Everyone was very nice and professional. The music and atmosphere was on point. They did not make me feel insecure about my hairline but offered advice on encouraging it to grow. If you are looking for a good cut in a nice atmosphere that is family friendly, please go here. Woman owned and ran. I support this! I'm loving my new look and may even keep it low for a while! You can only book online which can be an inconvenience and you provide your card information up front. So the payment (with the option to tip) is collected before you even get a haircut. My haircut felt rushed and I feel like the quality reflects that. I was really excited to try out this place but I’m definitely disappointed and will likely try another barbershop for my next cut.

In spite of being the kind of person who can find fault in anything, my experience today with Jo were impeccable. I was greeted by both staff members immediately on entry and offered a seat. She was prepared five minutes before my appointment, with a smile and pleasant attitude. After taking into account what I was looking for, I received the first cut in several years that was EXACTLY what I wanted and done with a attention to detail that merited the confidence gained from the results. I was personally welcomed by the owner and while I’m not the most conversational I did enjoy the atmosphere. I wish I could give this spot 6 stars. It’s nice to enter a barbershop where the barbers take COVID-19 seriously. Not only that but their cuts are extremely sharp. I wasn’t really sure what type of haircut I wanted and Lesley walked me through the entire thing, and I left the shop feeling great about my cut ! I’ll come again for sure !

It was my first visit. I arrived a little early because I wasn’t sure how parking would be. Found a spot right away directly across the street. The shop was clean and nicely decorated. I was greeted when I arrived by a barber (I didn’t get her name) when I came in. She was very friendly and told me that Gabby, the barber who was cutting my hair, would be right back. This was no problem as I had arrived about 10 mins early. We chatted for a few minutes. Gabby came back about 5 mins before my scheduled time and took me right away. My hair was in recovery from quarantine…so it was in kind of a mess. :-) Gabby asked me what I wanted done. After I gave what I thought was not too clear of a description, she started on my hair and about 15 mins later she was done! I couldn’t believe it! The cut was exactly what I wanted! I am very picky and can truly say I was so pleased when she finished! Thank you Gabby! I will be back!

I went to Lady Clipper for the first time last week and my oh my do I wish I had found this place sooner! I had gotten a bad haircut at a salon (what was supposed to be a trim of my pixie turned out to be a very masculine, uneven cut), so when I walked in to Lady Clipper I was desperate for a skilled barber to save what was left of my hair. Jo took one look at me and knew exactly what to do. She tamed my stubborn cowlicks and reshaped the cut to make it even and soften the harsh edges. Ladies with short hair: skip the salon BS and go straight to Jo instead!
