Reviews of B&C Hair Style
May become my go-to for haircuts: great hair styles at an affordable price. Have gone only once, but stylist - shout-out to Tony! - immediately understood my style without having to specify it too much (showed a picture of a previous haircut I wanted to replicate and it was indeed replicated pretty accurately). Plus, neighborhood entails for a nice walk.
Friendly and affordable place to get a cut! Walk in appointments are not too bad since they move fairly quickly. They take card and Venmo so easy to pay. Run by some very nice Asian ladies and they get the job done. Also ends with a nice hot towel. For about $27 you can’t get much better in this part of DC.
This place offers excellent hair cuts. I have been going here for a year now and I love it. The staff are super friendly and they do things quickly which I really appreciate. I really don't understand why anyone would have a negative review of this place. I have never had a bad experience here. I highly recommend it for mens haircuts.
Great haircut and conversation from Curtis! Very efficient operation too, walked in and out in under 30 min! Great prices for the area too.
I have had the honor of having Loan cut my hair for the past three years - she always knows the right trim length for both my beard and my hair. She is a true professional who is always up to speed on how DC fellas should cut their hair.
The best barbershop around Adams Morgan/Dupont. Skilled cutters, reasonable prices.
I've been using Rut for about 8 years now, aroud 23 times a year. Yes, 200+ haircuts and she's worth every dollar. Basically, she's wonderful; attentive, punctual, clean, listens to/gives advice, and I'm better for it. She's also human and will always politely correct a mistake if she makes one.
She also lets me correct the occasional person who requested a millimeter of hair cut off and is astonished it amounts to nothing, (I've been in the seat next to them many times) 🙄, some people's kids.
Everyone else is good too, they all have their niche, just take time to find your person.
The barbers are competent, polite, quick, and to the point. My only critique is that their tipping system is a bit odd; you have to tip via Venmo instead of adding a tip directly to the bill. Despite the oddity, I look forward to employing their services again.
Great barbershop for the price. The service is almost always lightning fast, it's unusual to have to even sit down to wait. All the stylists are courteous and professional, and while they recently raised their prices, a simple men's cut is still just $22. Sometimes they go a little shorter than I asked for, and it usually takes a week or so to grow into a new cut, but for $22 it's a great value.
Curtis is expert. He was perceptive about my hair and it's needs. My hair was too long, but that didn't stop him from carving out a good looking hair cut. The shop has a great atmosphere. Clean, but comfortable. Maybe it was the warm towel and free cold water.
I walked out satisfied and I usually don't walk out of barber shops so. Loan is fantastic.
Probably the best barbershop in the Adams Morgan and DuPont area from my experience. The quality of the stylists varies but the renal level is good and if you find the right person the quality can be excellent and only ~$27 (including tip). They also do a hot towel and can style hair too if desired. Gets crowded after 5:00 and towards closing time so be prepared. Bonus is that (unlike many barbers who only take cash) you can pay with Venmo. They also charge extra for using a credit card and don’t accept tip on your card!
I moved to DC a couple of years ago and was looking for a hairstylist since then. Finally, found the perfect one—Tony is amazing! He easily understood and customized the hairstyle as it suits me the best!
After a frustrating search for somewhere reasonably priced with good service, I finally found B&C. The waiting area is a little small with room for 6 people to sit. They had 4 staff working though so it moved quickly.
I was very pleased with the cut. The price was great at $20. The hot towel was a nice finish.
For some reason they can't accept tip via credit card. So bring a few dollars to tip in cash.
Hair cuts are not bad. Affordable. However, the staff has no clue as to who is there/which barbers work which days. Very annoying when I go out of my way to see a specific barber and they aren't at the shop. This has happened multiple times. I also asked for a shave but got a $11 beard trim instead. Which left my skin very irritated. If that happens again or if I am once again lied to about which barbers are working I will take my business elsewhere.
Great place and my go-to spot for haircuts since moving to DC over the summer. Can't beat the cut for $22, quick service and first come first serve. Had many different people cut my hair at B&C and each one was very good. Wouldn't go anywhere else in DC!
I've gotten a few haircuts in DC, and when it comes to this place, my only regret is not coming here earlier!
You can't get a better cut for 20 dollars. Wonderful people, no matter who cuts your hair, but my favorite is Tony. He knocks it out of the park every time and definitely makes the experience better.
I'll be back!
I’ve been going here for two years. Good price and good haircut. Their credit/debit card machine works 50% of the time which means if you aren’t carrying $30 in cash on you there is a good chance you’ll wait in line for nothing. In the end this has proven to not be worth the hassle.
This is a very good place to get a haircut. A haircut and a hot towel cost $23. BEWARE, tips are only in cash, but you could pay for the haircut with a card. I never had to wait in line at the place, the place is always clean, and they have free water bottles.
I love this place. Haircuts in DC can be stupid expensive. Not here. Cuts are under 30 dollars. That includes the hot towel face massage (which is awesome). You walk in, and you walk out in under 30 minutes. If you want a decent barber, check this place out.
Been looking for a place since I moved here this summer, hearing from everyone how terrible haircuts in DC tend to be. I was looking for a nice fade on the sides with w bit taken off on the top. Brought a few pictures as well. Rut was amazing-- she cut my hair exactly as I described, even cutting it a bit shorter after i changed my mind halfway through. She made great conversation and was very cool to hang out with. I will definitely be coming back to this little shop. Thanks B&C!
Great if you have a simple cut to do; well worth the price, especially with the massage included.
However, for scissor cuts, I have twice had my directions ignored and wound up with much shorter hair than desired.
Walk in only but usually a short wait. I'm always happy with my clean cut, but you have to know and ask for what you want. This isn't a place to go to ask for or try out a new style. I like that they end with a hot towel on your face/neck. No shampoo service though. Can pay by credit but tip is cash only.
No fuss, low-key, good hair cut, delightful barber (Loan!). I'd seen the warm towel mentioned several times, which struck me as odd, yet despite that it caught me off guard and despite the simplicity of it -- or perhaps because of it? -- it's totally worth mentioning. I didn't even get laughed at for requesting a Dr. Who haircut (11th, naturally)! A functionally perfect experience.
Popular barber shop for an inexpensive haircut in DC. A haircut is $22. I have been getting my hair cut here for a few years and have always been pleased with my haircut, hot towel, and most times they even give me a quick neck massage.
I thought this was the very least i could do for B&C Hair Style. I found this place online at the beginning of this past summer, and for $20 a haircut, i figured why not try it? it is a fraction of the cost of the more fancy barber shops around D.C. About 8 months and maybe 6 haircuts later from B&C I can say confidently that I will NEVER go anywhere else to get my hair cut. Their attention to detail is incredible, they do exactly what you ask of them, and the hot eucalyptus towl to finish it off is amazing.
I will say that knowing what you want makes all the difference to getting a good hair cut - tell them what you want and they will do it. For years my haircuts were hit or miss because i wouldn't be specific enough with the barber about what i wanted and let them decide. Once i learned what i like, it was very easy to get a good haircut - and for 20$ and incredibly friendly and dedicated service, B&C is my forever go to now in Washington D.C.
Quick, consistent, and pleasant service every month for the last 6. Had my hair cut by a few different people and it’s great every time. Love the hot towel at the end. Bring cash for tips!
I’ve been going to Rut @ B&C for the last 3+ years. She’s absolutely amazing, extremely detail oriented, and all around an affordable and efficient option for a men’s cut. Highly recommend Rut or any of her staff at B&C.
Rut was wonderful. I came in as a walk-in and she did her best with what little information I gave her. Will definitely come again.
I have been coming here for five years, Tony, Rut and Liam are my go-to’s. All of the staff is friendly, professional and great at their cuts. In and out within 15 minutes usually, it’s worth waiting for your normal person.
Inexpensive and consistent barber shop. While customers can use credit cards to pay for the haircut ($22), cash is needed for tips. I would highly recommend Tina.
Barbershops are probably one of the harder businesses to run during COVID-19, and I'm continually impressed with B&C's ability to provide great service in a safe way. Ask for Tony!
Great prices and the hot towel is a nice addition. There was a lack of detail in the haircut, but for a quick and cheap cut, I can't complain.
Love this place! Loan is so friendly and the price is right for the quality and consistency of the cut.
Affordable pricing for the neighborhood and give decent quality cuts. Have been there a few times over the last two years and have had mixed experiences
I’ve been going here here for a couple of years and I have never had a bad haircut. I see Ruth who does an excellent job. The hot towel at the end is always a nice touch.
I refuse to pay over $20 for a haircut and this place delivers a good haircut for a fair price, at least in DC. At my hometown, I would cry for another over $10. No fancy stylist trying to change your hair and you get nice warm towel at the end.
My last hair cut here was with Fany. I showed her a picture of the hair style I wanted and she nailed it! After my hair cut she gave me a 10 minute head massage and 10 minute back massage! It was amazing!!! Fany is off Sun and Mondays.
1st time visiting! I called and was able to get an appointment the same day. They are following Covid measures very well with proper distancing between stations, checking temps, etc. Will probably be back!
They do a nice job for modest fee. Efficient with your time too. Appreciate the extra care they take to protect against coronavirus also. Highly recommended.
Fast and relatively inexpensive. Friendly competent stylists. The hot towel and quick shoulder massage at the end is amazing. Be forewarned: tips must be in cash.
Ask for Ruth. Been getting my hair cut here for years. Excellent service at an unbeatable price for the area.
This place is great. Rut is a master at fades. My haircut is important to me and I always leave happy. Very accommodating also. Excellent service.
Good cheap haircuts for the area. You will be happy, they do a good job and is unbeatable given the price.
Talented hair stylists at an affordable price. Also very convenient location and very flexible on appointments.
Some good, some bad. Fairly affordable and rarely more than a 5 minute wait. Hot towel at the end is a nice treat. Ask for Tony.. he'll do your hair up right!
I've been many times. They are friendly and do a nice job. Even when I'm not sure I've communicated what I want they manage to do it well. Best price in the area, and a hot towel to boot!
$22 for an attentive men's cut, hot towel. Clean and crisp environment. Don't have to wait long to be attended, and it's not crazy like Diego's in Dupont.
Not the best haircut I've ever received, but it's quick, the folks are nice, and it's super cheap at $20! Come when it opens and ditch the lines.
Classic barbershop. Quick cut (with appointment), convenient location, good prices, and they accept Venmo as a payment option!
Tony, Rut and Chris are wonderful stylists with beautiful spirits that always make me feel welcome. I love them!
I'm going monthly now. Chris knows how to cut curly men's hair. 👍🏻👍🏻 10 outta 10 recommend …
Cheap haircuts in a town of very expensive haircuts. As long as you're clear about what you want, they can deliver. You never need an appointment.
Great, cheap ($22) haircut with a warm towel at the end. No frills no fuss. It can get busy so best to go early.
Well priced. Butchered my hair cut a bit. Wouldn't come back but I'm sure they do a fine job 99% of the time. I think I was a bit unlucky
My hair is tough to cut. Thick, always a mess, and spikes up if not treated just right. These folks cut my hair right every time. Remember to bring cash for tips.
I love this place - staff is always friendly and they do an excellent job! Love the hot towel - great finishing touch!
Line was going out of the door, but they had a lot of barbers working, so the wait wasn't as long as I thought it would be. Great attention to detail with the cut I wanted; would definitely return.
Had a great first experience with Tony. Quick, professional, good haircut. Definitely coming back.
Best men’s haircut in DC ... been coming here since they first opened. Great attention to detail and that hot towel is an amazing touch.
Not much of an ambiance, but the service and my cut were great. Chris took his time and gave me a great cut.
Best value for money. Quick haircut, high quality. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes but it's worth it.
Fantastic staff. No reservations just walk in but they do good, quick work so the wait is usually not long. Only take tips in cash or venmo.
This is my place to get a haircut. There service is great, the haircut always to my liking, and the price is one of the best in town.
My go to barber. Everyone there is great at cutting hair and the price is right.
No man should ever pay $50-100 for a haircut, this place gives good haircuts for men and is $20. They accept credit cards but Bring a couple extra bucks cash for tip.
Been many times, Lee gives a great haircut every time. Highly recommended for a great cut at a great price.
Love this place. Affordable hair cut. Very friendly staff. Tony is the best.
Walk right in and get a really good cut at a very good price. Hot towel at the end was a nice touch. Bring Venmo or cash.
Great haircut. And also fair price. Should be more of this in dc but there isn’t. Highly recommend
Great neighborhood place for haircuts. Highly recommend Ruth...she's the best but the others are good too.
All staff very nice. Very reasonable prices for haircuts.
Old school barber shop. Friendly team, fast good service, and if you are looking for no frills budget haircut, you just found the right place
Great and fast barber shop. First come, first serve. $22 flat rate. Can't beat that anywhere.
Excellent place. Gives a very good, no nonsense haircut. And they practice good COVID protocol.
Friendly service and cut my hair how I wnated and was quick too but not rushing. Hair looks great
Perfect place for an affordable haircut for my young son.

Great local barber! I've been going since they opened, and always great friendly service!
The folks who work here are really nice and provide a great cut for a stellar price. Haven't thought of going elsewhere since they opened about a year ago...
Simple, quick, good price and nice people!
Short waits and skilled barbers and price that's very reasonable for our area.
Awesome, affordable, quality practice with a hot towel service. Very pleasant staff.
Been coming here for a year now. Haven’t had a bad haircut yet, really can’t recommend this place enough
Great cut for a great price. Very friendly staff. 10/10 would recommend.

Very good for the price. I don't like the hot towel in the end but ok.

Excellent!
Loved it!!!
Professional and good prices!
Usually a good haircut. You can get taken first come, first served; but once you find the barber that you like, just wait for that person to be available.
Ask for Tony - he’s the man. Been coming here since 2017 and he’s always done a fantastic job taking care of me.
