Called in for a 'hot towel straight razor shave'. I arrived a little early so had a beer in their on-site bar. After a while John called me for my Shave, I advised I was a first-timer, so he explained every detail during the shave. I loved every minute, John was polite, helpful and very good. Afterwards my skin felt so smooth, I don't remember the last time my skin felt this good.

The shoppe is great, but a Master Barber like Tanner makes it an experience. I’ve been a client of his for a few years now, and I’ve seen some other barbers come and go. Though Tanner is a staple! You’ll want to pre book your appointment however. A few years ago you could just walk in and see this guy, though now the word is out! He’s just about booked solid most days! You might have to wait a day or two to see him but he’s worth the wait. Ya can’t rush quality. PS: Get there a little early and enjoy a free beer and the company of the shoppe dog Jazzie!

I love this place! I moved here from San Diego in 2019 and could not seem to find the perfect barbershop or barber until I found the Shave Cave. There I had the opportunity to meet Britt. Britt is an amazing barber with a high attention to detail. not to mention she is a former Marine :-). Max is the owner and he runs a tight ship with the latest software technology for scheduling and a very attentive staff. I highly recommend this place and especially Britt!

Aside from being one of the best fade specialists in St Pete, Tanner makes the shop that much better with his personality & offers great conversation. After moving from NYC, it was tough for me to trust a "go-to" barber. I've been to the Machine Shop, Man Cave, etc & I can definitely say Shave Cave is hands down the best for consistency and fostering a welcoming, chill atmosphere, which everyone looks forward to when getting a haircut. First time here and I love this place. Larissa was an amazing hostess she came right up when i walked in and asked if I wanted something to drink. I ended up getting a beer on tap. While I was waiting for a haircut I got a massage from Colleen and she knows what she is doing. I am coming back for her later this week. This is the best barber shop by far in St. Pete. I know since I tried about six before I became loyal to Shave Cave. The place is top and there seems to be zero turnover since everyone has been there for the 18 months Ive been going. Tommy is superb and is the best barber I have has in a long time. Have been coming to see Kristen every couple of weeks for a beard trim since growing it out a few years ago. My wife loves it, other women love it…hell, I think dudes are into it too. I didn’t think it was possible to become better looking, but Kristen is like MJ in his prime when it comes to male grooming. The shop is always immaculate, plays good music, and the staff is eager to serve you a beverage of choice when you arrive. I couldn’t recommend this place more!!

Booked an appointment with Britt online the day before, arrived and was greeted and offered a drink; the overall vibe is awesome and I immediately fell in love with this place. I've been going to the Shave Cave for haircuts for several months now. You can book your appointment online and it's usually pretty easy to get in. The stylists are friendly and I've had several of them cut my hair., but Tanner is always my first choice. They do a professional job and give you a true barber shop experience. Parking can be a bit tricky but they will validate you parking in the garage. Like many of the newer places, they will also offer you a beer while you are waiting.

What a classy joint. This is the only barber shop I’ve been to in three years of St. Pete living, and I’ve never had a reason to go anywhere else. I can book my cuts online. The staff is pleasant. They offer a free drink every time I walk through the door (draft beer included). My barber (Kristin, she’s awesome) is always on time, looking sharp, and does good work. Recently, The Shave Cave added a spa section that does pedicures, massage, eucalyptus steam sessions, and more. Man I got the freshest cut here and a beer! The service was steller, they accommodated me last minute via a call when someone missed their appointment. Although I wish I got a shampoo & proper shave for the price $45, I'm still very satisfied and have to keep to a 5-star rating for the following reasons. The barber (I think it was Anthony/Andrew, can't remember) was very attentive and delivered on a fantastic cut that was done majority by scissors off the top 👏 he listened to my requests and delivered a stellar fade. The experience overall was very pleasant. Great ambience in the shop and you may even get to say hello to the friendly pit. The beer is icing on the cake. Give this place a go!

Great atmosphere, great people! The friendliest barber shop i have ever been to. Also, Casey Dale gave the best haircut and shave that I have ever had. Made an appointment with Casey because I wanted a parted hair style and the website said that is one of his specialties. Scheduled a haircut and beard trim, best haircut I can remember. Entire experience was great from check in until check out...not sure what people are talking about in the few bad reviews, they were on time and $45 was a drop in the hat to look and feel good about your hairstyle. You get what you pay for, great attention to the smallest details, this man had more tools than most Barbershop's do as a whole... Will definitely be back to have Casey tighten me up on the regular! Being new to St. Pete, I was looking for a go to haircut spot. After doing a Yelp and Google search, I found The Shave Cave. It seemed to be similar to my old barber shop in Atlanta. I was wrong. It's way better! Their booking process is smooth. You can call them to book an appointment or do it online, and they'll text you after booking you and as your appointment gets closer. Parking is validated, and you park in a garage. Everybody at The Shave Cave is fantastic and personable. I've carried on great conversations about St. Pete with Julia, the receptionist, and Caleb, my barber that I've had in both of my visits here. I left there with a smile on my face both times. They have an awesome selection of beers that you can drink while getting your haircut. I've had a delicious IPA and coffee stout in the 2 times that I've been here. The beer selection alone is a good reason to go to The Shave Cave. This is my haircut spot. I'm a fan of it.

I have been coming to this place for about 3 years now, and refuse to go anywhere else. I have to say, Scotty, my barber, is AMAZING!!! Him and the rest of the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended barber to go to. Edit: Since Max (the owner), decided to bring in massages, I decided to give it a shot. I have had issues with my spine, neck, hips and knees for over 15 years. And it got to the point where I was in pain all of the time. Lost a ton of motion in my hips and couldn't even put pants on without it being painful for me. After seeing Christine the first time, she was able to begin breaking down scar tissue from over 25 years ago and help in ways I never thought imaginable without going through surgery. She has saved me and is HIGHLY recommended. Her knowledge and experience with the human body is something you'll never find anywhere else. I began coming twice a month and canceling with other massage therapists since they couldn't do what she has.

Jazmin with the pedicure made my feet feel coated in clouds and 5 years younger. Christine was amazing - every step of the facial was explained and felt great! Felt like I looked a decade younger after the experience. I look forward to booking another appointment next month along with a massage. Very cool shop in a cool location. However, Barbers station was not cleaned up. Sat me in a chair full of hair that I ended up wiping off prior to sitting. Cape was also covered in hair. As a barber I tend to focus heavily on the cleanliness of my shop for each client so these things stand out big time to me. Haircut turned out decent. All in all I’d come back to the shop but I would likely try a different service provider.

They took extreme measures to protect the customers during the virus making sure everything was clean, filling out a forum, most of the time I hate them, to make sure we are not sick, making the employees wear masks, checking the temperature, and the best part is installing the filters. This is an excellent place for a hair cut. I've gotten cuts from multiple people on their team and all have turned out well. They sell some nice products too that are worth checking out. Overall, I come back for the great hair cuts, great location, and free local beer. Yes, they will offer you beer and food while waiting for a haircut. The shop dog (bulldog) has a playful "attitude problem", which kinda adds to the charm of the place.

We made an appointment with Scott for my boyfriend's haircut, and we could never seem to find someone that gets all the small details just right and we've always had a hard time explainging them to barbers. Miley, who answered my call, was also really great at recommending me the perfect barber for his hair type. Thankfully we didn't have to say much and Scott did an amazing job at cleaning up the sides, cutting his hair, styling it, and all so quickly (I think we left in less than 30 minutes?)! The place itself is so so nice, offering free drinks (water, coffee, soda, or one beer/wine), a nice comfy waiting area with chargers and tvs, and pacman/street fighter arcade games (Free!). They also have validated parked right next door, to it's immediate left. You could also tell that they keep everything clean, which is extremely important, especially during the pandemic. It's definitely worth it, my boyfriend left so happy with his haircut and loved the experience! Definitely will be going back 😍

After a year or so of scoffing at the idea of an expensive haircut, and getting subpar to downright terrible haircuts every 3 weeks, I finally bit the bullet and visited The Shave Cave. And OMG! it is amazing. The barbers at The Shave Cave are straight up artists when it comes to working with hair, be it on top of your head or on your face. The quality of the beard trim is what has me a customer for life. The haircuts are perfect as well. No such thing as bad or average. TL;DR: Amazing barbers. Worth every penny. Fantastic ambiance. I was intimidated before entering The Shave Cave. Having never been professional enough for a clean shave... and not quite hip enough for a beard sculpt... I've lived precariously in the middle of mediocre beard. After a self diagnosed early-mid-life-crisis trip to Portland, I decided that a beard was for me. (While in Portland...) From setting the appointment online (What a fantastic website), to finding the location (great directions online), to entering the shop (I was greeted my name on my first visit)... the first time jitters went way down. The shop was very clean and professional, and logistically I wasn't confused as to where to go or having to awkwardly 'check in' with the front desk by walking through the service floor (man I hate when that happens). Aje did a wonderful job talking to me about what I wanted and I felt confident in her ability. I honestly felt I overexplained what I wanted... (Next time i'm just going to say "Make me look awesome"). The conversation in the shop was friendly, warm, welcoming, not forced, and inclusive. As an massive introvert I found myself wanting to join in (a rarity). Aje finished the service with a recommendation of a product (I would expect an up-sell), but didn't awkwardly walk me to the product, or push the product on me, or make me hold the product in a shady-carsalesman tactic to get me to buy it. What a breath of fresh air that was. Max behind the counter was pleasant with a smile. I felt valued as a customer before I paid for any services and made pleasant conversation. The passion that he has for The Shave Cave is contagious... ...keep my drink cold, i'll see you guys in two weeks.
