The Soulard barber shop is a place you rarely see these days - an establishment that provides a fantastic haircut at an unbelievable price ($7.75). I've been more than satisfied every time I go in, and I'm surprised more people don't know about it. I always drove past the shop on a usual weekend excursion to Soulard. Curiosity got the best of me one day, so I decided to go in. Ever since that day four months ago, the Soulard Barber Shop has been my go-to spot for a haircut. John or Pol are always kind and courteous; they take their time to make sure you look good and are confident on your way out. Just recently, I asked John to do a buzz/skin fade (Fezco cut) that I liked from a show I saw, and he came through with a clean cut. Got multiple compliments from friends, and he made me feel confident with my hair and recent balding. More people, especially younger folks like myself, should check this place out. It's these places that make STL special, and I'll continue to frequent this gem.

John did an EXCELLENT job on my hair, after over 6 months without a haircut he nailed it first job. I showed him what I wanted and he DELIVERED. Just moved to the area and this is now my go to barber.

He's a very nice and sweet guy, I was in town for business and called and he was able to accommodate me right away. The shop has a very old style and I loved it. Definitely makes you feel like if you're having a haircut back in the day haha. The price is veryyyy affordable, I was quite surprised to be honest about that. The haircut machine he uses is very powerful, so I guarantee you it's a nice haircut haha. There's plenty of street parking and IMO a very safe area. I highly recommend you to have a haircut here.

Very nice people running this place. Came over from Illinois during the pandemic and they were jolly and welcoming. $7.75 for a haircut as of May 2020. The building is obviously old and the chairs remind me of the barbers I went to as a kid. I think I might be done with the chain shops, these folks did a great job!

I’ve been going here since 2009 and the price has never changed. They always seem to do a decent job. Seeing that I only get my hair cut four times a year (once every season) I’m not to picky about my hair style.

I love coming here and getting my haircut. Each barber takes their time, and it's a great unbeatable price. I rather wait for my hair to get long and come here where I can depend on quality and support a local business. Great Clips blows they always miss pieces which is why I come here.

The place is not fancy, but it's warm, friendly and comfortable. The Soulard Barber Shop is no doubt one of the last of a dying breed. It takes you back to the time when you could get a good haircut for 7.75 Where can you get an outstanding haircut today for 7.75 ?? There is only one place and that's from the guys at the Soulard Barber Shop. If you have never been there, you owe it to your appearance to start !

Seems like every time I tag along on my wife's business trips, I find time to get my haircut. I tell you: if I lived here, this is the only place that'd cut my hair. Can't beat the price, and while the barbers in Boston don't seem to be able to deal the crazy mop I bring them, Soulard Barber Shop has everything tamed and in place.

It's good enough for the price ($7.75 + tip), but it's mostly pretty rough. The inside feels like a classic barbershop that hasn't been updated since those "classic" times. No appointments and no cards, just walk-ins and cash.
