After moving to STL from NYC I struggled to find a place that really does razor and fade cuts very well. I found Dapper Gents online and had my first appointment with Michael. Wow, this place is amazing. The shop was clean, and upscale. Michael was great and attentive and the service is just outstanding. I have found my new permanent hair cut place!

No joke this place is expensive, but worth every penny. I had a bad beard trim and didn't want anyone else to mess it up. I was told to give Dapper Gents a shot at fixing it and I'm glad I did. Mike not only fixed the problem but made a long term plan to achieve what I want my beard to be. It's about an hour drive from my house and they stay booked but I'll be returning with out a doubt. If someone butcher your hair or beard you need to get on the calendar asap.

My name is Shane and I live downtown, and I have been going to this place and having my hair cut by Carrie now for two years. As long as I live in St. Louis, there will not be any other place I go for a haircut. I haven't had one time, that I can remember, where people haven't complimented me on my hair after Carrie cut it. This place goes above and beyond. I often have to reschedule my appointments because of work meetings and they do everything they can to accommodate me and my schedule. I've never had a bad haircut and everyone at the place is so friendly. Definitely go and check this place out, everyone that works there is great.

I‘m very particular about who takes care of my teeth, who my PCP is, who does my laundry, who does my monthly massage, and who cuts my hair. So when I moved here from Des Moines 3 1/2 years ago I was leaving behind all these people who I trusted with these aspects of my life. It took some research and a few try outs before I found Carrie at Dapper Gents but when I did I knew she was my barber for the long run. I love the masculine vibe of the shop and they carry some great men‘s product lines. The sop is always clean and they did a great job of following COVID protocols. I absolutely hated having to miss my haircuts during the period when these shops could not be open. Carrie is a perfect barber for me. She takes notes, makes sure she remembers how you like things done, and always puts me in a good, relaxed mood. I look forward to my appointments. They aren‘t easy to get for good reason. Carrie has a loyal following so consider yourself fortunate to get her. I don‘t know the other stylists except for Christie who has also been at Dapper Gents for as long as I‘ve been going. She also has a loyal following as I see there guys in her chair frequently. Best shop for men in St. Louis.

I went in yesterday for the 1st time & was really impressed. The experience alone was enough to bring me back, but Michael did an AMAZING job! I’ve never had a better quality haircut. Super clean line work, fade is spot on, & despite having extremely thick hair which most have struggled to work with in the past, he knew exactly what to do and I couldn’t be happier. Will never go to anyone else! Highly recommend this place.

I have been coming to Dapper Gents for two years for my beard trim and hot shave. Dapper Gents is customer centric and staffed with consummate professionals that take their craft very seriously. Carrie, Tara and Christy are fantastic! I also bring my nine year old son here for his haircuts. Electric trimmers bother him and Dapper Gents provide him with a scissor cut that he loves.

This place was a great addition to upscale men's grooming in the St. Louis area but had some issues in the beginning. After a couple years after giving up on them because of said issues. Fast forward to a year ago and I was in serious need if a cut for a job interview and they were available. I was happy with the service, thoughtful experience, the staff, and the final cut. Over this past year the quality of the service and cuts continues to improve. Twice now I've gone to them for cuts prior to job interviews and both times I got hired. My get a cut before I play the lottery.

The good: Just had my haircut here for the first time. Always a bit nerve-wracking when trying a new barber. Tara was awesome. She listened to what I wanted and gave great suggestions. I needed them since the last barber I had at a different shop took my fade too high. That side of my head needs to grow out a bit more. Tara was vocal about the corrections she was making and I felt very comfortable. Will definitely come back. The bad: There are two entrances you can try walking into. If you are on the street and go to the right (western door I think), that's the back way. Go to the left. Call when you arrive. Read the sign on the door with their number. The door is locked and they'll let you in. It was actually comical to watch how many guys just pulled on the door because they didn't check the sign and were confused.

I was greeted by Carrie and taken to her station. After a brief look around I felt relaxed and liked the decor of the establishment. Carrie and I discussed how I wanted my hair cut. I mentioned what I usually get and concerns from other haircuts (not here). She listened and made a few suggestions and got to work.... Carrie did a phenomenal job. I enjoyed the fact that I didn't have questions running through my head like "that's not what we discussed" or "so you're not sure what to do so you're just gonna wing it". My hair blends perfectly with any lines, clumps or patches that are longer or shorter than the rest. Overall, Carrie is very professional and shows concern to reach an end result the client is happy with. I need to STL since February and I ask myself, "why didn't I go her sooner?" UPDATE.....you're not going to like this.. Well, I when back to see Carrie to get my hair back in shape. First, I'm still liking the decor and then"feel" of the shop. Second, I like that Carrie followed up on how I liked my haircut and how it worked out for me. We went over some minor tweaks and she got to work. So after she finished cutting and trimming got is washed (best part, I could fall asleep. LOL), then back to the chair for adding product and styling. Here's the part you're not gonna like... So, after she finish she had me look it over in the mirror. I couldn't believe it, another Awesome haircut! I know, you're asking yourself, so what am I not going to like? Well, you're not liking that you haven't been to Dapper Gents to see Carrie to get your haircut. ;-)

Not overpriced but definitely more upscale than similarly advertised "men's fine grooming" in the area. I'll definitely be back for another visit.

I start this review by saying that it is pretty expensive for a haircut and shave. However, the experience is nice and the atmosphere lends itself to that of nostalgia. They have a nice area to chill and the best selection of complementary drinks. I can't knock them a star for the price because the experience and cut make up for it.

For years I searched around the STL area to find someone who: (a) could cut my hair the way I like and (b) someone I enjoyed going to. As someone who has thinning hair, I am pretty particular about it. My search ended a couple of years ago when I found Brooke at Dapper Gents. Brooke has been my go to for a long time now and I cannot recommend her highly enough for hair and beards. I recommend her without any hesitation. Go and thank me later.

This place has been one of my great go to’s while in stl. Although I travel a lot, I will always make sure to get my haircuts here as opposed to out of town, no matter how long I have to wait. The level of service is unmatched, even when compared to higher end salons in bigger cities. The attention to detail, not only in your haircuts, but also in the atmosphere of the store, is what truly sets it apart. They will make sure you’re getting exactly what you wanted, the cut is genuinely perfect, and will make you feel welcome and never rushed. I have not necessarily had the best experience every visit, but they take action to make sure their services and staff are equivalent to the quality and standard they aim to withhold. I will continue to recommend them and praise them for their commitment to quality and exceptional service.

Been going here for about 3 years now and this place is awesome! They are always nice and respectful, a free drinks are a nice touch. This has to be one of the cleanest places on washington ave! They always sweep and stuff when they are done.

I was recommended Dapper Gents by a buddy that had just gone there recently. I called them and easily made an appointment for the next day with Brooke. when it came to doing something with my beard I was having a hard time articulating what I wanted, but Brooke knew exactly what would look good with my beard. I put my faith and beard in her hands, laid back with a hot towel and a short time later I looked in the mirror, and couldn't be happier with the results! Go see to Dapper Gents, and if she's available make an appointment with Brooke, you WON'T be disappointed! I'll be back for sure!!

Holy shizzle! A haircut after covid is a tall order. When i scheduled my appointment i did not know what to expect. I waited outside and was called upon like I was a PM meeting the queen. They scanned my forehead and turned me loose inside. About 40 minutes later, i looked like a real person again. Kate cut my hair and she was pleasant to talk to. Not too chatty. There were a bunch of cool things around to look at - blazers, wallets, a map of Florence - five stars.

Had an appointment today with Brooke, it was probably the best hair cut experience iv ever had im generally a very nervous person and i was a bit confused upon walking in but i was friendly and promptly directed twords the front desk where everything was explained and taken care of. I waited looking like I had spent a year on a deserted islanf, only a few minutes and was taken back to get my hair and beard done what is normally an awkward unpleasant experience was made comfortable and personable and an all around great experience by a talented artist I would recommend this place to anyone who asked I am proud to say I no longer look like a deserted island dweller, I am extremely greatful and I will be making another appointment.

Awesome place. Finally have my beard looking like I want. After going to several other barbers in STL I finally found one that took their time and did it like I asked. They do not rush on services. Highly recommend. On a side note, some great menswear and accessories to shop for while there. Will definitely be back. And it's next to a cigar bar. My new go-to.

This is a great place. Since they have been open I have not shaved my own face 1 time. They do an excellent job and make you feel very comfortable the entire time. Overrated yet decent service. Certainly not worthy of the pretentious web front face. Good choice if one wants a cut near work; but if you have the patience and freedom to pick an appointment a week away might as well make the effort and have a proper stylist or establishment meet your needs. Who shines their own shoes at establishments of similar standing? Seems better geared for gentlemen sporting facial hair that needs to be well coiffed. For the neck/shoulder massage and snap + textured Caesar one can do better. Price is right or slightly over for the haircut by itself. The clothing and hair styling products are generously marked up distractions.

I have been going here for my haircuts since they opened. Make sure to make an appointment ahead of time, they are almost always booked. Once you do get the appointment, the staff has been, without fail, professional and considerate. I have a lot of hair that is extremely unruly, and they have done an excellent job with it every time.

I walked in here on a normal Tuesday morning. I don’t remember what happened to me after that but when I walked out I had a full tuxedo, top hat and monocle, my name changed to Reginald And my hair was slicker than the BP oil spill. My shoes were as shiny as the cosmos and I aparently own a company now. I also apparently own 3,000 stock in the oil refinery business now all after just one trip. Walking into dapper gents is a curious place I don’t know what they did but I’m feeling extremely dapper.
