The shop is nice. My haircut was not great. A patch of long hair was left on the back of my scalp and my fade is super uneven. Not worth the money I paid.

Andreus was delightful!! I love how my hair turned out. He was incredibly thorough and explained every step to me before starting and during the cut. He was so nice and easy to talk to. The salon itself was super cute and tidy. I loved the queer motifs all over the salon! Street parking was shockingly easy for a Sunday afternoon.

I’ve been rollin with a blunt bob for the past two years and inevitably it grows out in a couple months and rather than planning ahead I scramble to find an available appointment in nearby salons. In the past at a Rudy’s in Phinney Ridge I’ve received a bob cut that was fine but not great, but I thought I’d give this Rudy’s a chance. So glad I did! Andreus D. took such good care of me and was probably the most attentive and communicative barber/stylist I’ve had to date! He would explain everything he was doing before doing it and check in with me from beginning to end. My bob was even (unlike other salons), the right length, and in line with what I communicated that I wanted. Also the past two haircuts I’ve had with him I’ve been able to schedule <1 week in advance which is super convenient. Thanks Andreus!

Just got a pixie cut from Andreus at the Capitol Hill (Pine) location. The other reviewers are right; Andreus was willing to look at pics and talk me through the specifics of what I wanted, and gave me multiple opportunities to check in and give feedback. He made me feel totally comfortable and gave me a great cut! I've been out of Seattle for the last three years, so the price bump was a bit of a shock when I booked ($39- if I recall correctly a short cut used to run more like $25) but I'm not sure how many places there are to get a solid cut for significantly cheaper in the city (I don't drive, so bus-able is important to me).

After growing out my hair for two years, I decided to get it cut with some layering and shaping. I went to another salon about two months before, and to my dismay they left me with uneven layers. I booked a long cut at Rudy's with the hope that they could fix it up for me. Andreus was wonderful! Within 20 minutes he fixed my uneven layers and even changed my appointment type from a long cut to a short cut (my hair is right on the line between the two so I was unsure which one to pick initially). A week later and my hair has never looked better! If I had to complain about one thing, it would be that the music in the shop on this particular day was really loud. Andreus and I had to almost yell in order to be able to hear one another despite the fact that he was standing right behind me. Overall I had a wonderful experience :)

On a sunny day, we suddenly wanted to chop off our hair. Most places were booked solid for a month. We checked Rudy's website and found available appointments. It was so convenient. My husband loved his haircut. He had a specific haircut in mind and it looked exactly like it after the cut. I had long hair, so I was skeptical about shortening it. However, I really didn't have to worry the haircut was perfect.

ALL THE STARS FOR GABRIEL AND TEAM HERE! I came here in need of a cut before starting a new job after a few months of struggling after escaping my a DV situation. As an autistic adult, it can sometimes be very terrifying to receive a haircut, and I’ve had plenty of bad experiences as a kid that left me cutting my own hair for years. I’ve been wanting to grow out my hair long for a minute, but have always dealt with the damage of hair dye and bleach after never knowing exactly what to do with my hair. GABRIEL —— was a star. It was scary going shorter and wanting to hold on to that dead hair to preserve length, but I know Gabriel did my hair RIGHT. he set me on the path for growing my hair out finally in life for the first time and getting the eventual punky long mullet of my dreams while giving me the fresh pixie summer vibes I was going for as well. I will definitely be back to see them, and I can’t wait to be in a place where I can repay it forward and help someone out like I was. Thank you to Justin and all of Youthcare for what they do, thank you Gabriel and all of Rudy’s on Pine for being so kind, welcoming, and accepting of an autistic adult who struggles greatly with PTSD and public interaction. I walk out of there feeling full-blast sexy every time. Even though Rudy's is prolific, this Pine store is special and very well established. Zaylee cuts my long hair with consistent quality and their front desk manager went the extra mile to help me feel relaxed. Even though $47 can be a lot of money for me as a student, it feels well worth it.

Edit: After seeing my review, Rudy's on Capitol Hill offered me a free consultation and apologized for the unfortunate experience. They were cordial and polite. I believe it's safe to say that this was hopefully a one-time bad haircut, and I do plan to come back to Rudy's on Pine. I am happy with how they handled the situation, thank you Rudy's. . . . I have been to Rudy's on Capitol Hill several times and have had, in general, good experiences there. This time however I went in for a routine clean-up right before an important event, and came out with one of the worst haircuts I have ever received. My stylist did not listen to what I was looking for, and cut my long hair and bangs unrecognizably short and so quickly I didn't have time to say anything. I feel upset about my hair, and ignored by my stylist. I am surprised by the result after years of good service from Rudy's, and am wary about going back.

Had my haircut Tuesday 5/18/2021, believe by Ian. Stylist was nice enough, BUT, my cut was much shorter than I wanted. I told him to trim my bangs but not much. My wife gave me the “what the hell happened look?” I even supplied a pic on my phone of the cut I wanted. Do barbers listen?

Best haircut experiences I've had in my life. Personally, what I want out of a haircut is an affordable, non-gendered pricing structure (as someone who has always had extremely short hair I dislike getting charged twice as much for a "woman's" cut), drop-in convenience, and stylists who strike the perfect balance between giving you friendly advice and honoring your own preferences for your haircut. Rudy's checks off all 3 for me.

This was my barber when I was living in Seattle. Pros: Really convenient online scheduling system. Great location Cons: Hit or miss depending on who you get. And even though they have the online scheduling system, there's no profile picture for each stylist so I couldn't remember the name of the person who did my hair well (I have a weird hair texture). They also always charged me the price of a short cut despite doing only the work of a clipper cut which annoyed me. I also had a really bad experience where I came in a half an hour before they were to close with no appointments (they say walk-ins welcome) because I finally decided to have my head shaved when my hair started falling out from chemotherapy. The woman who I ended up having acted so annoyed because I said "I have sort of a complicated situation" trying to be delicate and also still feeling very embarrassed about my hair falling out. If this is convenient to you and you don't mind the price, it's a fine place. Otherwise, I prefer Raven just down the street.

Got my hair cut with Rae and she did a fantastic job. Asian hair is difficult to cut and my head is funny shaped, and I've been to many stylists who haven't been able to quite get it right. Rae, however, did an excellent job with my fade and kept me entertained with funny, interesting conversation throughout. I have gone back to Rae whenever I need a haircut and recommend you do the same. Great service, great style, great haircut.

Lisa is a god of cutting hair. It's hard to rate a salon as a whole - so I'd much rather like to recommend my hair artist Lisa. She's pretty much the best thing that's ever happened to my hair - especially if you have very fine hair. She's great at listening to what you want - or if you'd like she's really good at recommending what would actually look better on you. Real easy and fun to talk to. I can understand why many people would not want to go to Rudy's as it carries the hipster-Great Clips reputation, but if you can find a great hair artist at any of their locations there's no reason to hate on it. You can't make appointments more than an hour in advance. Either you call in and get your name down on the list, or you can just walk in and put your name down for whoever is next.

My stylist Michelle did an amazing job and we had a great conversation about the homeless situation and Amazon taxes in Seattle. I'm so happy Rudy's is back!! And the return of Allejandro makes it even better. I have long hair that hadn't seen a trim since October, and during lockdown I'd been trimming my own bangs. He got me back into my luscious locks and looking good in no time, even without the blowout (all part of the covid protocols). Covid protocols for check in were easy, the receptionist Gabriel meets you outside, asks a few basic questions pertaining to health, takes your temp, explains the cashless process. Then you continue to wait outside until your stylist is ready. Plus online booking is so easy! Top notch service.

I was so happy with my blow-out and style I received from Kaylie at the Capitol Hill Rudy's! I was really nervous about an event I was heading to, and she made me feel like a extra pretty confident version of myself. I have a unique cut and dye job, but she handled it like an expert. It was reasonably priced too! I called ahead to put my name on the list, which made my wait only about 10 minutes, and I was in and out in about an hour. 10/10 would blow again!

I can't say much for the customer service staffers here, but I can speak to the quality of every cut I've received from Ian. He knows what he's doing and he's the only stylist I haven't had to direct. I just sit down, tell him to "fix it" and invariably he does so. He's got skills...i recommend Rudy's because I recommend Ian. Simple as that.

I went here 4 times, I thought that the place was amazing until I found a better place like Great Clips. The last time I went into Rudys was on the weekend and I was not free to get out of Seattle so I needed a haircut but though Rudy is a hippy and trendy place for youths to go. I think that the hairstylist are not very experienced in cutting proper clean&neat looking hair. I was expecting just a clean&neat hair makeover. Other than that, the staffs are really polite and cheerful. The products are amazing especially the hawaiian scented medium hold pomade is my favorite!!

Go see Rae at the Ballard location. Brilliant fashion designer who will take your ideas and bring them to life.. And if those ideas are horrible, she'll make them great. Even if you don't choose her, I've spent 8 years in Seattle and the Rudy's Ballard location has always served me well. Even before I discovered Rae a year and a half ago, I've always come to this location. That's with experience of other Rudy's shops as well as much (read stupidly) higher end shops. Great shop with great people. You'll fall in love with Rudy's. I can't see myself changing, even if my favorite stylist walked away.

The cuts are solid and ridiculously affordable given going rates for women's haircuts (they do great men's cuts too). And you can walk in without an appointment and wait for a stylist. Need a quick haircut while walking home- this is a place to go. It usually gets pretty busy during the weekday nights but if you call ahead and get in line before it fills up. The stylists do a great job with direction, there in the game of numbers so make sure that you know what you want.
