Visiting Portland for the first time coming from California I stumbled upon this shop look super urban and the barber that I met Isaiah was great made me feel like I was back home with my barber I’m very particular on how I want my haircut and he lined me up super clean! Full service and very professional. Even filled me in on couple spots I should check around town super chill dude!

I’ve been coming here consistently for the last year with Anna and have never had anything but good experiences. My hair always looks great and gets lots of compliments. Easy to make an appointment and reschedule. Can’t see myself going anywhere else. I always recommend my friends to this place everyone in the building does a great job and love the inclusive atmosphere.

Went in today for a beard trim and line up and Logan did an amazing job! The place was nice and everyone seemed really friendly, lots of good energy coming from everyone. Can't speak for haircuts 'cause I'm bald but for my fellow bearded folks, I definitely recommend this place / Logan :)

I have found my new haircut person! Called everywhere trying to book a haircut for same day on a Sunday, and was just about to give up, when NWBA said to come down in an hour. I'll very glad I called them. Christine is fabulous! She was able to give me the haircut I wanted (and desperately needed) even though I couldn't really even describe to her what I wanted, as I'm not very hip to haircut lingo. She was clearly very experienced, very talented, awesome to talk to, and it was just the best haircut experience I've had since moving up here a few years ago. I'll most certainly be coming back to NWBA for all of my haircuts from now on. I can't personally vouch for any of the other stylists, as I haven't had them cut my hair, but I did see a lot of really nice haircuts in all of the other chairs as well. But if you get Christine, you should definitely be excited, as you're in very capable hands. I often get anxious about haircuts because I don't like the idea of having to be social with a complete stranger for 40+ minutes, but she made it easy, was very easy to talk to, and just made the experience so easy from start to finish. I huge weight off my shoulders, and a complete hair transportation. Come to Christine at NWBA and you will not be sorry. 💯💯💯

Loved this spot! They offered me a drink right when I walked in and made me feel right at home. The amazing artwork throughout the shop helped. I wasn't expecting a hair wash but they insisted so... of course. It was so relaxing and it was not a bad feeling to have their hands massaging into my scalp. I didn't quite know what I wanted but they gassed me up and made me feel beautiful. They gave me great face framing layers and told me how to to style it and everything. Excited to go back for the good talks and the good style.

Booking is super easy online but Isaiah has always got me in when I needed. They seem to have a well oiled machine where everyone shows up on time and they are there ready to work. Shop is extremely clean, has music or the game. People have a sense of community there and know all the good food places. Isaiah has been cutting and dying my hair for 3 years and always has something fun and interesting to do (I am moderately easy going and just want something different usually) My partner went in yesterday to get a totally different hair cut that before and the person that helped him did a great job and took their time shaping his beard. I would say if you are looking to change up your look and also need beard trimming and maintenance this would be the place for you.

If you've never been to a place outside of Supercuts or a chain haircut place, you are cheating yourself. You have to try out NWBA and have Nate give you a cut. I've never had a issue with his work, but the rest of the team also is amazing

I have been following Cory Lee for years, spanning 5 locations. Now that he owns his own spot it's good to know that I shouldn't have to drive to a new place any time soon. Fun space, conveniently located. The crew is awesome, top to bottom. A great place to get a hair cut, I always get all taken care of. Definitely worth checking out.

I’ve been going to Brielle since I’ve moved here which was almost a year ago. She has always got me in last minute no matter the day or time. (I need to get my schedule figured out). She has MAD skills for all styles and brows. I always let her do whatever she wants because I know I’ll leave looking fresh AF. I get so many compliments from the hairstyles she gives me along with the line work and fades/Style. I 100% would recommend getting your hair done by Brielle as her customer service is top notch. She is very personable, sweet and kind hearted. Brielle is quick and efficient and has Mad skills. Brielle is the one who even did my wedding burst cut/color/ and line work. I have originally very dark Mexican/Asian brown hair and Brielle was able to bring it to the color that I wanted first time. (Very. Very. Whitish blonde.). If you are reading this to find yourself a barber 100% go to Brielle, her insta is (Steezbybreez) you can see how much talent she holds.

This place is awesome! I get my hair cut from Chris and not only is he talented as a barber but he’s also a super chill genuine guy. The venue itself is nice and well kept also! I’ve been able to talk to other workers there as well the past few times I’ve gone and everyone was so friendly. I always recommend this place to everyone I know as they don’t dissapoint.

Recently went in for my first cut at this place and had an overwhelmingly positive experience. The shop is nice but not overdone, the staff was friendly, and it’s centrally located. I’m fairly particular about my hair and have been to several barber shops in the area- Throne, Cloak and Dagger, and Modern Man (before closure) and I can confidently say that Nate Easton, now with Northwest Barbers Association, is one of the best around. Would highly recommend.

Was turned away at a (very) nearby barber who didn't expect walk-ups. At first I was annoyed, but turned out to be glad that happened. Nate and the staff at NBA welcomed me in immediately. I got great service and of course a great hair cut. Will definitely return.

I go to Chris every time for my haircuts. Portland born and raised, I’ve been all over the place before, and Chris Morgan is awesome. Great guy to chat with, down to earth, easy going, and very talented with the way he cuts hair. Be sure to ask him about his special “fade in the back!” Where he makes my haircuts actually look better longer as it grows in. If you’re looking for a new barber, this guy is the real deal.

Great shop, great conversation, and more importantly great people. I’ve been getting my ears lowered by Cory Lee ever since I moved to Portland, coming up on 5 years now. It’s always a struggle to find someone who can cut thick Asian hair, and Cory finally ended that for me. He asks the right questions to get to know you and will work work with you to get one of the freshes cuts you’ll ever had. We’re at the point where I trust him to freely do his thing.

I've been getting my hair cut by Cory for about 6 years at this point, and have followed him from his old shops to this one. Great looking space, solid barbers, and reasonable pricing. Parking can be a little tough, but that's not on these guys. Proud of you Cory!

This is a great shop. It is new and clean. The people are creative and I couldn't imagine anything that they would not be able to do. The do a classic style with touches like shaving the back of the neck. I recommend this shop for family and friends. Parking and traffic can be tough.

It is outstanding that Cory Lee (formerly of Brick & Mortar and & The Modern Man) has found his own piece of the pie. This is a barbershop that cares about one thing only: giving great haircuts. There's no ego here or aspirations to be the next Paul Mitchell or rockstar that just happens to cut hair on the side. It's a cadre of Portland veteran barbers that want to give great service. Their prices are reasonable to where a grown man doesn't question if he's at his wife's high-end salon or a barbershop to get a fade and straight razor shave. You will not be disappointed. However, plan an extra 5 minutes arrival due to the parking around here is trash.
