Americana is the best barber shop in the southern Maine area hands down. Chris has been cutting my hair for a year now. He’s really the best barber I’ve ever had, everything he does is spot on. My hair is especially hard to fade and blend in but he makes it look easy. He’s passionate about his work and it really shows.

Hands down best barbershop I’ve been to. Chris has been cutting my hair for years now and I have never left with one single thing to complain about. You won’t be disappointed with Jake’s cuts either. Their fades are second to none, and they will make you better looking no matter what style you want. They’re both welcoming, funny, and easy to talk to. Americana is very family friendly, but also a great spot to go to if you enjoy hilarious banter between the barbers and customers. I honestly don’t go anywhere else.

Jessi created the coolest curly mullet/Mohawk on me when she was in barber school! She was the only person I let cut my hair and still the only person I trust with it! I followed her to Americana where she is thriving. She gives a clean bald fade and makes my confidence go through the roof. As a female the Atmosphere at Americana is welcoming and comfortable! 10/10 would recommend Jessi as a barber!

Loved getting my cut by these guys and I’m from Brooklyn so I know a good one when I see one. Shop has an awesome retro feel you don’t really see anywhere. The guys in general but especially Dave are well trained, consummate pros and extremely meticulous. Generally just funny and cool dudes you wanna be talking to when getting your cut done. 10/10 would most def recommend.

My friend referred me to this barber shop in Portland, Americana Shave Co. I went in and they were awesome, all the guys were cool, we shot the bull for a while, laughed and joked, the haircut was phenomenal. They are very meticulous in their work! I highly recommend this spot, it will be my barber shop from now on. Ask for Jake, he is the owner and puts together a great haircut!

Great place and awesome atmosphere to get your hair cut in. When you walk in it's like taking a step back in time. Jake is an awesome barber and takes the time to listen to what you want. I have always had a fantastic hair cut, beard trim, and many laughs while being there. Best barber shop in Portland.... If your looking for a real barbershop this is the place. Great hangout vibe and with excellent barbers who take their craft seriously. I came to this barber shop after getting a TERRIBLE cut from another place right before starting my new job. I called the shop on a Saturday and Jake got me in with Dave to fix it. He was able to fix a terrible cut and make it look like nothing ever happens. Been going ever since.

We visited Jake yesterday to give my 6 year old son a much needed haircut to get ready for school and it looks so good! About an hour after his appointment my son broke his arm and had to go to the hospital. I’m not kidding when I say no less than 10 guys walking by my son in the halls would stop and say “wow, that’s a nice looking haircut!”. I couldn’t believe how many compliments he was getting. Of course I sent them all to Americana Shave Co. It’s probably the best haircut he’s ever had and we will for sure be back!

The shop itself kept me occupied with all the memorbilla while he was getting his hair cut. Really great find in the Old Port.
