I arrived at the shop to find Larry setting up for the day as two well behaved small people with him who I assume were his kids around 10-12 yrs old puttered around in an opposite corner of the room. Soon Larry asked me to the chair and I requested a simple bald guy haircut and beard trim. He completely disregarded my instructions and instead put some actual work and artistry into his work and made my beard look darn good instead of just ok. He didn’t have much hair to work with on my cut but he made it look good too. Then he had the nerve to charge me a ridiculously reasonable amount for all his fine work. I’m very pleased with my visit and should I need a real haircut again I’ll not hesitate to go back to him for another cut.

I'm front out of town, new to Phoenix since this week. I'm a caucasian male with thick hair. Many barbers do not understand that when I say that I want my hair thinned out, I mean really thinned out; otherwise I'll be back in less than two weeks, frustrated. Being Labor Day Monday, Romana Barber Shop was the first place that I found to be open. Based on the website and pictures, it seemed to cater toward African American and Hispanic styles. The fades seemed good though, which was a plus. I called and spoke with Larry over the phone; he said he had me covered. I asked again in person, he gave me the same response. Man was he right. I was so impressed with his attention to detail. The fade was on point, and he thoroughly took the time to thin out on top, which many don't do or simply get lazy, I don't know. In addition, he's just a solid dude. He is multicultural in his approach, and will have anyone looking fresh who invests their time and money, no matter the style. Came here on Saturday evening, I was out running errands for and event and totally forgot about that I still needed a haircut and it was late. Most barbershop were already closing or closed. But I saw on Google that Romana was open till 6pm which is awesome. As soon as I walked in I felt comfortable, the couches are a great idea to feel relaxed while waiting for your turn. Larry (barber/owner) is a great barber but most importantly and great person. The reggaeton music playing and the great vibes makes time here so much fun. Anyways Larry cut my hair amazingly it's hard for me to find a barber that cuts my hair how I imagine it to look, definitely found my new barbershop! 😁 I give it 4 stars for the reason that there's always room for improvement in all aspects of life. 👍

Last Saturday (I think it was) I was at Starbucks an didnt feel like driving to N phx to get lined up so was just gonna wait to get lined up. I looked over saw a barbershop an figured I'd check it out. Walked in an was greeted by Larry who hooked me up and made me look gd again (lol) . It was a great expierence an he has great skills. Honestly was one of the best places i gone to, i was looking for a new barber shop becuase everyone kept messing up my hair and i cut my hair today with larry (a great guy) and he didnt mess it up at all. It is a smaller shop which I prefer. Larger shops can be chaotic and I don't want to deal with that. At the moment the shop has 2 barbers, very talented guys. Either one will give you a sharp cut! Prices are currently $17 and up for mens cuts.
