It was getting late and found Mathews spot open until midnight it had good ratings. My girl and I decided to check it out. Mathew was finishing up a clean fade on a youngster and didnt have to wait long. Overall the fade came out clean and Mathews stories are genuine. We spent a good hour there because the conversation was dope. Mathew taught me no matter where you come from you can always succeed just dont lose your faith. Will definitely be back.

My Fiancé and I came here to get our undercut cleaned up before our wedding day which was to be two days after the cut. Never been here before or knew anyone who had either, however it was a great decision on our part. We showed up at 930 on a Friday evening and already there were I believe two people ahead of us however it was already helpful on my end that I was able to get my cut with being how late it was, so we decided to wait it out. We work days and we’re extremely busy getting ready for our wedding so the long hours are a big help. Let me just say the experience I had here was like no other. I have had my undercut for about 6 years now so I’ve been to many barbers but this however was not just any barbershop. Matthew himself did my hair and he is an exceptional guy. I need to say it, he is a well rounded guy who will give definitely keep your mind thinking and not to mention share a few laughs with you. I love music and he had the jams playing at all times. It really gave me a movie scene vibe. If you’re looking for a genuine barber experience, this is your place.

I went here to get my hair cut just a few minutes ago since school is bout to start, so it was kind of an emergency. The guys who worked there were very nice and they made me feel welcome while I got my hair cut and not once did I not feel unwelcome or ignored. Paka (the guy who did my haircut) and I had a great conversation together and he made sure that he got my haircut right. The place was very clean and fresh inside. They kept their stations very clean and organized. They work through pretty fast and at the end of the day I was very amazed how they left me looking fresh 👌🏾. Like I said, the guys are awesome 😎 and I suggest going down to this barbershop and start making it your #1 place. It’s honestly amazing that they’re open till midnight—I couldn’t believe it. Thank you guys for being awesome, for making your shop make me feel welcome, and for making my hair cut perfect. 👍🏾

I found the barber to be very friendly, professional, and great at cutting hair. The vibe in the barbershop is great, the music, small building, and cleanliness, everything great. Update: I haven't got a hair cut at any other barbershop since first going here. Just last night Mathew stuck around late last night (Christmas eve) to make sure I had a clean fade for Christmas. He liberally stay until 150 AM Christmas morning for me! I love this shop! I just left Mathew's shop and I just found my regular barber! Not only did he listen to exactly what I was looking for but he didn't rush at all! If you're looking for a 10 minute cut and don't care that they will likely miss something or mess your lines up, go to Great Clips. If you want a barber who views ever customer as the most important person in the world, go see Mathew at his shop. The late hours are super convenient and he truly cares about making his customers happy. Seriously, go try him out! You wont be let down... He wont allow it!

The reviews speak for itself and so does the ratings. It owns up to it's expectations and outcome. Tonight made my first visit and there were 4 people ahead of me and one barber in the shop, however without hesitation Demonti had contacted the owner and in no time Matthew had arrived. Demonti has the steaduest hands I must say coz this kid gives the cleanest fade ive seen by far. As for Matt, he came in very warm and welcoming and outgoing. These duo had done such great service tonight that before their closing time which was at midnite they took care of all their customers with grace and confidence. Definitely Ill be coming back here for my haircuts in the future. Thank you gentlemen for staying up late to provide everyone with great cuts.

I went here about 3 weeks ago. The first thing I need to say here, is that I rarely treat myself to a hot shave and high fade, so I'm fairly picky about who I go to. Since I'd been here a few times before and had an amazing experience, I was looking forward to another one. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. I didn't recognize the guy working, but since my previous experiences were so good...and I was dropped off and didn't want to take a lyft to another Barber shop, I figured I'd give him a guy a try.....I should have taken a lyft to a different Barber shop, LOL. I gave him specific instructions on how I wanted it done, and he followed maybe 20% of it. The fade was uneven and I had small patches of hair that weren't shaved down all the way. The hot shave was brutal. He caught me with the electric shaver 3-4 times on my top lip trying to take some of the hair down before he shaved it with the straight razor. I told him, I didn't like the electric razors on my face at all. Then he changed out the straight razor blade 3 times after cutting my face ( the fairly bad one finally healed up a few days ago) telling me my hair was dulling the blades. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy, and was still bleeding when I left.

Trusting someone new with your hair can be as consequential as trusting someone new with your teeth. I found Matthew’s Barber Shop after searching for a barber open late night hours. With most chains closing early it has been a struggle to get in after work. I came in a stranger hoping for just a basic cut. I left looking lit up, without a doubt a happy and future repeat client... Everything from the thorough cut, to the warm lather straight razor shave and beard trim, down to the fade, was private salon level delivery and quality, but that type of cookie cutter service is attainable for top dollar, unremarkably, but also ubiquitously. What you experience at Matthew’s is more than a hair cut: its the hospitality and primarily the conversation. This is a lost art at the salon these days, especially through a mask... From the first minute of being in the shop, the natural warmth and welcome from Chris and Matthew was genuine and unpretentious. They are masters of their craft, just ask for their insight and recommendations and watch them do work... Matthew has a gift for connecting socially and before you know it an hour or two will have flown by, at which point you are looking and feeling amazing.

All great things take time, so you may want to keep a relaxed schedule when you come in for your haircut, but man, are the results worth it! Matthew apologized to me for my wait, but he said of the young man who was in front of me: "That young man could meet his future wife tomorrow, and he needs an awesome haircut just in case!" An awesome place for a great haircuts. What's even better is that I was able to come here at 11pm on a Friday. Most barber shops are closed by 4 or 5 pm and the working man is forced to take time out of the weekend with his family to get a haircut. Two quick head-ups: 1. Cash only. It's usually ~$20-40, depending on what you need. 2. After eight cuts, you can throw a punch card into a raffle to get free cuts for a year. There isn't a lot of traction on this yet, so take advantage while you can. I have to agree with these other reviews. I'm effeminate, I have adult ADHD, I'm a loner—I feel out of place everywhere. I'm either so engaged people feel overwhelmed, or so disengaged people think I'd rather not be there. Cue Paka (I'm likely butchering the spelling), who rolled on in with food and left it sitting to get me in a chair. I'll admit ahead of time that I'm a bit biased because I actually like men, but... at 21, Paka is one hell of a man. I'm hard to keep a conversation with, but I loved listening to him talk about where he's at in his life, talk a little about my life and more. He's got a lot going for him in life. It's worth dropping in just to meet and chat with a guy like Paka. (I hope I'm remembering the names right.) Matt and Isaac (?) were also distinct characters, interesting and clearly talented at what they do. Isaac was working on one guy for awhile and did a lot of work with a lot of precision you won't find at other barbers. Matt handled at least two or three hair types in the time I was there. These guys are faithful and they've got a strong respect for their own humility. If you're not living under a rock, you know how rare it is to go anywhere that isn't serving alcohol and find people comfortable talking openly about what's held them back, what they want out of life, what they value in other people. They're definitely a community/neighborhood place, as in, they're about the old-fashioned barbershop hangouts. You don't just get your hair did, you get your social fix. That means these guys aren't going to look as fancy as an upscale salon, but you're going to get culture you'll never find at a TONI&GUY. As for what they do, the five star reviews say it all. Again, these guys can handle really any hair type, from thick and messy to work with to whatever dollar store weave God blessed the top of my head with. My face still looks off, but my hair actually looks great now. The next time I'm acting thirsty, my hair will look really nice. So, that's a good first step for me. Give this place a shot. I'll be going here from now on.
