Sydney at Elephant in the Room did a really great job. It was the best haircut experience I’ve ever had. Everyone there was very professional and kind and they keep it very clean. It’s a very comfortable environment and I look forward to coming back. Sydney was very easy to talk to and definitely knew her stuff so it was very easy to trust her. I’ve been trying to find a good place to get my haircut for a while and this is definitely the place to go! Pricing is great for anyone who wants a high quality experience. You won’t want to go anywhere else after you try this place.

Carrie was amazing. Probably the best haircut experience I've had. I didn't have a lot of direction to give and with my thinning hairline she made magic. Definitely recommend trying this place. The membership seems like a good deal if you need haircuts frequently. Now I just have to get my Wife to buy me a gift pack. 5 stars!

Having just moved to the OKC area from out of state I was in need of a new place to get my hair cut. I found this place through Google and thought the $1 first visit promo was worth the shot. I ended up with Tia who did a great job explaining the process and also was a nice conversationalist. The haircut came out great and I enjoyed the hand wax situation, that was completely new to me. I opted to signup for a package and will return in a few weeks. I like the option as well for the free touch ups and if I need to, I’ll drop in for one of those. Appreciated the beverage for the road as well.

1 November 2018 - My first visit. Sydney was my Stylist, and she was amazing! This is the best haircut I've had in a long time! Great environment, good music, and super friendly staff (thanks Danny). FYI Emergency Services, Military, and Veterans get 50% off membership!!! UPDATE (10 April 2019) EITR is the best! I went in for my regular haircut... to find out they had a drawing for their members for a 55 inch TV... Guess who won... THIS GUY!!! Thanx guys!!! Really appreciate the good vibes this place generates.

My brother-in-law referred me to EITR, telling me how I could get an awesome deluxe haircut for $1 (for my first visit). Since the haircut was so affordable, I sprung for the $20 beard trim as well. Gina did an amazing job. She was friendly and seemed knowledgeable about cutting hair. The brunette that was at the front desk when I walked in was very friendly as well, offering me a soda or water as soon as I walked in. Gina offered me drinks as well. All the gals working there seemed happy to be there. The shop was nice and provided good vibes. I visited the Nichols Hills location. Highly recommended. I will be back!

I have always just gotten my cut done at a quick, cheap place to get it out of the way. Never again! They made the haircut a treat that I will actually look forward to next time. Sierra was incredibly friendly and did a fantastic job. I had to get gas on my way home and a complete stranger stopped and told me I was looking sharp with the fresh cut. Anyway, I would suggest elephant in the room to anyone looking for a haircut. Truly knocked it out of the park.

Really good haircut and beard trim. Gina did an excellent job and was very thorough. The services provided were 5 star but the pre-appointment communication regarding the pricing leaves a bit to be desired. I definitely cannot complain about the $1 haircut but I wasn't informed about the beard trim being extra before the service was completed. It was worth every penny, I just wasn't expecting it and I probably should have asked beforehand when setting up my appointment what the total costs would be. In short, I will absolutely be signing up for a membership and look forward to many more great haircuts in the future!

I agree they have good stylists but I personally feel it’s too expensive when it comes to regular styling. Also the membership and charges terms are so weird and complex that their in-house staff also gets confused on what to do! Overall a good experience but not pocket friendly. PS: $1 hair cut is a trap after that you’re must to join their membership and have to go cut your hair next time with the expensive charges!

I guess google only lets you do one review, so here is my updated review: I've had Tia, Sierra, and Kendra all cut my hair and do a fantastic job of it. They all take great notes on your style so the next time you come in they'll remember your cut. The paraffin hand wax was surprisingly nice the first time, so I get it every time as part of my membership add-ons. The discounted membership for military and first responders is awesome, but membership is still well worth it even for the full price! Sadly I'm moving in a week or so, so this was my last time in, but I'll recommend this place to anyone! 6 out of 5 stars!

Best overall experience I’ve had getting a haircut. I’ve visited multiple salons, shops, and individual barbers, and Elephant in the Room just brings more to the table. Their competitive membership pricing makes planning for my haircut cost systematic and cheaper than before. The haircuts are top quality with precision, customization, and attention to detail given throughout the cut. Jamie is particularly excellent at making sure you get the cut you want, whether it was the same as last time or something new. My favorite part, though, are the extra services. Hand wax dips, essential oil scalp message, facial scrubs, messaging shampoo, straight razor nape cuts - they do it all. And with tons of extra perks for members, there’s really no beating this place.

I came across the $1 deal and thought I would give it a shot and I'm glad I did. As soon as I walked in the front staff was very courteous and asked if I wanted something to drink. After checking in it didn't take long for my stylist Tia to come up front to get me. To start she ask for my coat and hung it up then she took me over to sit down for my haircut. Tia was very nice and was easy to talk to and she listened to all of my questions about trying something new for the style. After my cut I put my hands into a some sort of a wax dip and they came out really smooth. I loved the washing, hot towel, and scalp massage she gave me as well. Would definitely recommend trying out this place. Hands down best shop I have been to and you get a lot for the price you pay. I will definitely be back next month for another haircut with Tia.

I would just like to start off by saying I am not one to do Google reviews unless the experience was bad! And with that being said this Google review will be different. The experience I had at this place was very good! My stylist Tia was amazing and so is the staff at the front counter! I loved my experience there and like other Google reviews they did not keep repeating and hounding me about memberships. I am going to sign up for the deluxe membership because it will be well worth the money spent! The only thing bad that I have to say about the place is that I didn't notice it until I was driving home that my haircut was uneven. Now I understand this was the first haircut and it was only a buck but when I go in for the price that I'm going to pay for the deluxe membership I'm going to expect it to be an even fade on both sides. But other than that my experience now is what I expect my experience to be in the upcoming visits that I plan on coming back to have and that would be excellent.

First timers gets a great experience for a very low price of $1 but that gets donated back to the community! Overall would definitely recommend coming here and try it out! I scheduled an appointment earlier in the week and was sent a text the day of the appointment that I would have to be rescheduled. I thought my first visit wasn’t going to go well if that’s how we started. Fortunately I was only rescheduled to a half hour later and my experience while at the shop was great. This place is great!! Amazing staff, great products, and an awesome setup for the store. Tia cut my hair, and did a wonderful job. I was very indecisive, I wanted to cut my hair short for the summer, but my wife just wanted me to get a trim and keep the length. Tia talked it out with me, and we decided to go in the middle. I really appreciate her patience with me, as I’m told i can be frustrating :D They are more pricey than your average in and out hair cut, but in my book, you get what you pay for. Also, with their membership you get good discounts and free clean ups, which makes you get more for your dollar out of your hair cut. Lastly, it may be a “guys” hair cut place, but its not one of those sleazy cheap gimmick guys places that is more about low tops and low prices vs high class and high quality. Good job with the business model, keep up the good work!!!

My stylist, Tia was awesome and very personable. It was a nice experience and great to find a place that caters to men. My only criticism is that they are heavy on trying to sell memberships and do it repeatedly throughout the process which takes away from the overall experience in my opinion. I would suggest more of a soft sell approach when it comes to your services and products. The prices aren't unreasonable but it would be more appealing without membership fees.

This place is awesome and I gotta say, Elephant In The Room makes sure you have a Great Experience no matter what. Very impressed by this place! I didn't know or even understand they actually log what you like for a hair cut so you get it every single time, done the same. So far I have been to both locations in OKC and both did an amazing Job. Kendra is awesome! She can cut my hair anytime and I can tell you I'm a freak when it comes to new people doing my hair, I'm the kind of guy who likes the same person to cut my hair, every time.....but it really doesn't matter at Elephant in the Room. You can get a complete Deluxe Service for only a dollar with no commitment to sign up, but if you sign up you get unlimited clean ups and a monthly hair cut to keep you looking sharp. As some one who just moved here from LA, I can tell you Elephant in the Room is a breath of fresh air. They sit you down, pour you a drink...and then they don't just cut your hair...they pamper a man how he's supposed to be. I can't see how anyone wouldn't love coming to this place.

Thankfully I was able to be one of the first people to experience the new Oklahoma City store.This store is special because it is their first franchise store, and the new owners are great people. Best barber I've ever seen. Sydney took the time to do a consultation and make sure she was going to do a cut I was happy with. She explained all the details of the cut and style and was informative about product options without doing the hard sell at the end that a lot of places do. They take notes about your cut so that you can visit and get what you want more easily, and their membership options are actually valuable instead of a gimmick like most places. 5 stars isn't enough for the stylist or the business.

Had a great first visit here. It’s by far one of the best spots for a men’s haircut in OKC. The staff superb! They were all friendly, hospitable, kind, and professional. I stumbled upon EITR on google and the whole $1 for first time guests thing was crazy so I had to check it out. I called and they got me set up for when I got off work. Best haircut of my life. I went to this location because a couple coworkers came in looking fresh after going here and they said first haircut is $1. This place is legit. They listen to what you want, they know how to make your ideas look good, and the eucalyptus and tea tree oil used in the deluxe pack is really refreshing. Sara got it right as well as anyone since my last barber retired. The price after the first time is worth it as well. A proper haircut is always cheaper than trying to fix what the chain places do.

I had my first haircut here with Caytlin and it was great. They were ready for me when I arrived, Caytlin asked me what I wanted and did exaclty toy what I asked. I imagine it’s difficult to cut a persons hair for the first time, but she was a pro. My first cut was $1, amazing. They gave me the “pitch” about the monthly membership before I left, which I’m glad they did. They did not make me feel obligated in any way and were very professional about their delivery. I run a business myself and I know how uncomfortable it can be to sell your services. The prices for the haircuts are very competitive and I couldn’t have been happier about the service. Along with the monthly membership, you get unlimited cleanups throughout the month. I may not come back more than once a month but knowing that I can is a great benefit. I’m looking forward to making this my regular spot and recommending it to all my friends.

Clean and friendly staff and a few different subscriptions options. I personally hate the subscription and would rather pay per visit instead of automatically per month but its cheaper to just be a subscriber. Other than that it's nice.

Seriously, if you’re out there looking up reviews to see if that $1 haircut is legit, it is, and you need to book one with Tia right now. Some may not dig the “subscription” or membership model, but I really enjoy it. I pay up front at the start of the month, and the only thing I have to worry about is showing up and getting my cut. Also, gotta chime in that they really aren’t pushy with the membership. I didn’t know what to expect at my first cut, and was prepared to get hounded to sign up, nope, just a simple explanation of the benefits and the different options, and one seriously chill haircut. 10/10

I had the best experience ever. I would recommend this to anyone. Worth every penny but only cost me $1 for my first hair cut. Sydney washed and conditioned my hair. Gave my face some sort of special scrub. Put a crazy wax stuff on my hands that peeled of painlessly and left them smoother than a mans hand should be. She used a straight razor, a trimmer and something else I don’t know how to explain on my face. She trimmed my eyebrow. She also braided my hair into some kind of awesome Viking thing. Almosts forgot! Of course she cut my hair. Which included part of a fade and some other stuff I’ll never understand. Did I mention they give you free coffee and sodas?!?! 10 out of 10 from the guy who hates hair cuts and everything that comes with them.

Great experience. It's not a gimick like sport clips or other places that advertise toward men for grooming. It's fairly pricey compared to others but they have wonderful staff and a ton of options for your personal grooming care. The monthly subscription gives a discount on the haircuts/beard trims and free touch ups during the month if you need them. would highly recommended trying them out since the first haircut is only a dollar.

Wish I was told at the actual location that an appointment was available 30 min later and not through the customer-service number. Either way, you can’t beat their first-time experience package. So I heard about this place from one of my friends in Tulsa. He told me that there's a place for guys to get your hair and beard trimmed or cut and it's like a man's barber shop. I was like yea I'm sure it's like all the others that are out there, with their sports on the TVs and sports themed chairs and workspaces, but hey who knows I'll check it out. So I called and setup an appointment, which was super easy by the way, and was told that my first haircut is only $1. I get to the place and let me just say if you're a man and love all things rustic, metal, and America then this is the place for you! Complementary drinks when you walk in and experienced stylist that look at you and say this is what you should do. I have to say this was by far the best experience I have ever had at any barber shop/salon. If you're a guy in need of a cut, trim, or shave. Give these guys and gals a call because they are treating us guys like the kings we are! I will definitely be returning soon!

I’ve gone to Elephant in the Room three times so far and each experience has been superb. The atmosphere is very relaxed, unlike some other local salons that have a slight elitist, fashion savvy air about them, but that may also stem from them catering towards men versus female cuts. In any event, it’s an environment that’s comfortable and quickly becomes familiar. The specialists there know their stuff and have helpful recommendations for the stylistically challenged like myself. In fact, all of the staff promote an enjoyable experience, offering refreshments before the appointment, and a handful of addons to enhance the visit. In general, I tend not to talk too much when getting my hair cut (my mouth will always attract falling hairs without fail) and also its a moment to just unplug myself and let my mind wander—the specialists there will cater to whatever conversation, or lack thereof, you want and that’s hard to find at a number of salons. Finally the price, it’s not cheap, and honestly I dont like paying the price I do. But, it’s a premiere experience. Sometimes you go to McDonalds and sometimes a sit-down restaurant. I can go to a smaller barber and get a decent haircut for a fraction of the price, but it’s just to lop off some hair. Here it’s a mood, a moment to relax and spoil myself. I could fall asleep with the scalp massage/hot towel combo I get after my haircut, and that’s one of the things that make the difference. With their membership benefits it makes this affordable without breaking the bank, and really, what’s wrong with pampering yourself every now and then?
