I’ve been getting my hair cut by Tim for a long time now and I have to say. He never fails! Always on point and makes sure my cut is to my liking. Constantly checking with me to make sure I’m okay. At this point he remembers my haircut and shows genuine care for his clients. I’m new to the city and finding a new barber was on my top priority, I’m glad I cross paths with Tim. He makes me feel at home. Tim I hope this journey is long, we all hate to switch barbers whenever we find a good one. Cheers!

Andrew did an excellent job! I'll definitely be coming back. It's rare to find a place that truly takes the time to cut and style (for example, the blow dry wasn't an afterthought but took time and care). Finally, the attention to detail made for a great haircut - doing a lot with multiple razors to get just the right shape.

The atmosphere is pleasant, the employees are responsible for their work. I have been going for a couple years now and it has been a great place to find a barber who will remember you and help you figure out what u want to do with your hair. Although the prices greatly increased over the past two years( I think the original price of a haircut was 20$ now it is 32$) It is still affordable. Recently I have been going to Tim( a barber) and he has absolutely changed my hairstyle. 6months ago he recommended I try a skin fade and I absolutely loved it. Then a month ago I came back from school and recommended I try a fade on my sides and keep my hair curly at the top. He recommended a few hair accessories as well. I love this place and I am happy to still see it open :)

Max and his crew at Elegant Barber Shop are hands down the best in the NYC area. Why you ask? Their attention to detail goes way beyond your expectations. I’ve been a customer with them for 5 years since their Park Slope opening. I don’t feel like a customer but family. Plus their prices are affordable (which if you know NYC is rare). Detailed, fast, and excellent price! Working at the nearby hospital makes fee time a rare thing, especially after a long week. Elegant Barber shop somehow manages to give me the best beard trim while still being Lightning Quick! Don’t worry if you see 3 people ahead of you? You’ll be seen in less than 15minutes. I had a few haircuits here, and most were decent. Jane and Vasila were good. But there was one guy who shaved the back of my neck with a razor a little too roughly, leaving some red marks that have yet to fade. I'm hoping that the red marks eventually disappear, but this was a bit of a disappointment in what was otherwise a good relationship. If the red marks at the back of my neck don't disappear, I might adjust this review accordingly.

This is my go to spot for the last few years. Everyone inside is very friendly and professional. The pricing is great for the UES. My barber (Jane) always does a great job. Jane’s service and attention to detail is always amazing. She makes my experience enjoyable and I always feel fresh leaving the shop (she’s also the reason I get a cut once a week). 10/5 stars!

I seen Sandra at Elegant she was absolutely a great barber for my beard trim and haircut. I know this is nyc and it’s expensive and you can’t change the price but if you can make it reasonably maybe you will have better clientele and add a reservations system so it can be easier for you new and more existing customers.

I had a great experience here about 3 weeks ago. I was visiting NYC for a friend's wedding, and needed to find a place that could give me a quality shave. Fortunately I was staying only a couple of blocks from this barber shop. It was fabulous. A woman named Sandra helped me. She was very nice, and I was very impressed with the techniques she used to give me the smoothest shave for my head and beard I think I've ever head. Quite remarkable. It was $25 each I think for both services, but I thought it was worth it for the occasion I needed it for. The entire place was very clean and welcoming as well. If I ever stay in NYC again, I hope I get the chance to come back here.

Elegant Barber Shop is a relatively new shop in the neighborhood that is certainly a level above the competition in the moderate price range. The location is always clean, hospitality is abundant, and everyone seems to go a bit beyond to ensure you have a good experience. (For example, not rushing you, offering complimentary drinks, and ensuring your expectations are met prior to finishing) I have lived on the Upper East/Midtown East for two decades - and seen many shops come and go. This is one to stay. The staff there is extremely skilled - especially Tatiana, who I followed to Elegant after she decided to move on from her previous employer in the neighborhood. This is a full service shop: they do great hot shaves, precise scissor haircuts for more complicated hairstyles, to anything really that a customer could want. Again, the difference between this shop and the others is the space, cleanliness, hospitality, and the skill of the barbers. Tatiana is the best in my opinion, so try to call ahead for an appt with her, but, if she is busy, then I still believe you will be in good hands here.

This place is amazing! My boyfriend comes here every two weeks no matter where we are, 5hours away at university or 45 minutes in brooklyn. It is worth the trip. I found Max 5 years ago just for a beard trim and it took me two years to let him touch my hair (because I had my fancy salon that I was paying $85 for cut and I was with my stylist for 10 years). The service was really good. I got a coupon on Groupon (Yes they do accept one) and so i decided to have a haircut here. The hair stylist was professional and often asked me if she was doing it right or needed more styling. They give a wash as well before starting the haircut. This surprised me as i have never been to a hair salon that gives a nice hair wash and then begins haircut. Definitely recommend this place.

I have struggled finding a good barberahop since I moved to NYC. I found this place few months back and had my haircut 3 times so far by different barbers and THEY WERE ALL AWESOME!! They are all kind, proffesional and most importantly GOOD. The price... I dont want to say it's cheap cuz otherwisr they might increase the price lol. 100% recommended. You might have to wait a bit depending the hour you go, but you hardly will wait longer than 15 minutes since there are always 4 barbers at least working at the same time.

It's a hidden gem, which is located 2 blocks from popular shopping center Bloomingdales. Even though I live in Brooklyn and the commute is not easy, but it's totally worth it. The subway is just a block away. Those folks are very friendly and they do an outstanding job. What else can you ask for? Check'Em out and you won't regret. Highly recommend this barber shop.
