I’ve been going to top rank barbers for a bit and I just have to say that nick is one of the best cuts you’ll get in the twin cities. I have two collicks on back of my head and he always cuts my hair perfectly and just the way I want it. He is very professional and is always great for conversation. On top of all of that I have only ever waited once for my haircut and that was because I walked in during nicks lunch break. But I only ended up waiting about 10 minutes. I always leave the shop satisfied so If you need a great haircut from a cool barber I’d recommend you go see nick!

I'm used to going to cheap chains to get my hair cut. I don't know if I can go back to doing that. Nick does really good work and is hilarious. Shop was clean and welcoming. Making an appointment online at the website was a breeze. If you are looking for a great hair cut and beard trim I would highly recommend making an appointment.

Got my hair straight time and time again. Def recommend. Nick knows what he's doing and gives recommendations on what'll look good. That helped a lot cause I didn't know what to ask for or how to describe what I wanted. Before him I was just having my girl do my hair and it was a simple #2 gaurd all over. I now know that I was cutting my hair too short and I look good with a bald fade up to a 6 on top. The conversation is always fun and his new spot is coming together really well. His boxer dog is well behaved and let be real any establishment is better with a dog.

Great haircut and shave. Now the full story. My father has dementia, we were out for lunch on Fathers Day at a nearby restaurant. We happened to walk by Nick's Barber Shop and he had an opening for a hair cut and shave. Nick was extremely patient and extremely good at what he does. My Father came out of Top Rank Barbers looking like a million bucks. Highly recommend this Barber, Nick is fantastic, he has a great personality and does an excellent job.

I saw that this place had a lot of good reviews and it's open on Sundays. It's tough to find a barber with those hours. I lucked out and Nick had a walk-in spot available. As an FYI, use the website and book online. It'll even save you a couple bucks. Nick is legit. Super honest and professional - he fixed me up with a style that works for my hair type. It took awhile to get all cleaned up but that's because it had been a good 6+ months since my last cut and Nick's attention to detail is awesome. In the meantime I kept entertained with some good stories and tv. That's probably a FYI if you expect to just roll in, get buzzed up, and off you go - plan for some time to chill. Nick's goal is to do a cut that's gonna impress the folks around you. I've been to the great clips, etc and I've been to some of the different salons / barbers all around the twin cities and again, the attention to detail here is top notch. Clean shop. Great atmosphere.

Mr. Farrow was as honest as they come and as thorough as they come. He did exactly what I wanted and made sure he did it right with no exceptions. He chatted and we talked all sorts of things which made the experience even better. He is respectful and after seeing the results in my own mirror at home of my haircut, I say that he did much better than any other place including some top barbershop around. The price is perfect for the quality cut you will be given. Mr. Farrow has gained a new customer.

What can I say... I’m new to the area, and was looking for a place to get my hair cut after preciously having it done at great clips, fantastic sam’s, or other barbers from the east Metro. After reading the reviews about this place, I decided to give it a try! My first impression, Nick is a little rough around the edges, but he is a super nice and genuine guy. We talked the entire time, and had great conversations, even though we are very different people. As for the haircut, he did a fantastic job. Nick’s knowledge and attention to detail is phenomenal, and I was really surprised that he would take the time that he did to make sure that I was satisfied with my cut. I’ve been cutting my own hair since about 2000 when I was in the army and got tired of paying $15 to have someone shave my head every week. Found Top Rank Barbers on a web site listing the best barbers in the area. Made an appointment online with Nick and made my way here. Best haircut ever. Nick had a super high attention to detail and walked out feeling lime a new man. Can’t recommend these guys enough. Old school, straight razor lines and great atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed.

Nick has done a perfect job both time I have been. This will be the only place I go. He is very helpful, not just cutting my hair how I like it, but helping me understand the different styles and choices. I always feel great about my choice when done. If you go to a sports clips, great clips, or a salon, STOP. $20 is more than competitive for a person who knows how to cut mens hair, versus other places that learn how to cut women’s hair.

Alex and Nick clearly take pride in their business. These guys know how to cut and have truly set the bar high! I recently moved to Minnesota and was looking for a barber that could do a great cut and fade. Every barber shop I had gone to never seemed to get the cut I was looking for. Some barbers came close but nothing blew me away. After looking around for months I finally decided to give Top Rank Barbers a chance because of their consistently high ratings and reviews. I drive almost an hour (one way) just to get to these guys. I've been coming here for the past few months and have always felt welcomed and treated as a close friend. Alex (my barber) has exceeded my expectations every time I've come in and can tell that he takes pride in what he does. Although I have never been cut by Nick, I have seen his work on others and can tell he does a great job as well. I highly recommend these guys!

I was just trying to find a place to get a haircut and found this place that I live by. Went inside to get a hair cut and I had no clue what I wanted so I trusted him to give me a hair cut. And let me say best hair cut that I have gotten. Played music the whole time which was awesome and was vibing to it the whole time. Great person to talk to as well. I did a Nick's pick where he does what he thinks he looks best. He gave me a perfect fade he didn't miss a hair when cutting my hard part and cowluck. When he trimmed my beard he used a shavette to get a baby smooth skin on my neck lines and he used that same technique for the rest of my lines. He angled my beard and squared it off, so it compliments my face much more now. As long as you give Nick time and communicate what you want (ideally bring a picture of what you want done) your gonna get an amazing haircut that people will notice.

So I was searching on the Web for a place to get my haircut and was looking at reviews both for a new place and the place I had gone to for the past 10 years(which the reviews for that place wasn't that great). Then I came across Top Rank Barbers and was impressed with the reviews. So earlier this week I called them up and set up an appointment a couple hours later I found myself stepping back in time. I grew up in a smaller town and my dad would take me to get my hair cut at the local barber very similar to T R B. Then I got my haircut, wow, I had never gotten a cut before like the one I got. I had the privilege of having Alex cut my hair. He was awesome and gave me a cut that all 3 of my daughters and my wife really liked. Thanks Alex! As we agreed after you were done "a happy wife is a happy life!" I would highly recommend Top Rank Barbers! I'll be back!

Sorry this took me awhile to write this nick. Been super busy but I got you. I travel around the US climbing towers and I decided to give this barbershop a chance since I was starting to not look on point. Nick was cool and asked if I booked online which I did. I didn't wait very long at all before sitting down. ::tip:: if it's late Saturday or Sunday paying in cash is the better route for him because of banks so be prepared:: He kept going on about how the first cut is always the worst and with me being blind without my glasses I was a little scared haha but when he revealed his masterpiece I told him it was in the top 3 of my best cuts for life. That says a lot since I grew up around barbers but his attention to detail is out of this world. I highly recommend this guy and will be seeing him again soon. Thanks man!

I thought it looked pretty good, not the best cut I ever got, but I think it was good enough to give him a second chance. Never been to a barber before so I didn't know what to expect but I picked Nick at Top Rank because people said he wouldn't disappoint.....he didn't disappoint. I basically told him I wasnt sure what I wanted and left up to him and he made me look fresh for sure. He he even asked me about my work so that he made sure my cut was prossesional and well as fresh. I ended up adding a shave and he did a perfect job. I would reccomend the whole package....I already got my pre Christmas cut booked. Good tunes, convo and boxing. Can't beat this place.

Afterwards when I looked in the mirror, I was shocked by how short my hair was and how exposed my face was. I received many compliments and quickly embraced the change. It is an honor to be the 100th review. This guy is superb and the service is unmatched. When I first walked in it was a little awkward that he didnt say much. But he is just a really chill dude and made it feel like home. He does not make you feel pressured in any way. The atmosphere is perfect for my liking. Good background music, sports, and conversations. I did not know exactly what I wanted but I came in with a general idea of what the end result should look like. I wanted my sides short and longer on top. The hair at the top and sides stick out for me and I explained that to him that it is one of the most annoying hair qualities I have. But the second he touched the clippers I was at ease. I was tired of bad barbers and immediately you can tell he knew what he was doing. I like that he takes his time also. His technique of cutting is precise and gentle. He gave me an outstanding cut, perfect ratio from the sides fading into the top of the head. Some barbers when you're finished theres some hairs maybe that are questionable and dont look right. Few days passed and I wouldn't change anything about the cut. Nick is a good mix of professional and personable. You can tell he takes care of his equipment. My hair came out not greasy and sometimes gross like other barbers. Also there were zero stray hairs. Didnt need to wash my hair at all for loose hair. Impressive. He applied some pomade or other product I am not sure but it didn't produce the dreaded greasy result either. I am not usually a fan of product but his is nice and worked well for my hair. For the clean shave it couldn't get better either. I have really sensitive skin so I dont shave often. It gets acne and redness very easy after a shave. His instrument he used for the shave was so delicate and relaxing. He finished it off by what felt like a string pulling my face but I am not sure what it was. Closest shave I've ever had. Few days passed, no acne, soft as a baby butt, no irritation whatsoever. He recommended eyebrow work. I was skeptical at first because I naturally have decent eye brows and didnt want it to look feminine. Again, no irritation from his work for this. Eyebrows look way better than I thought they would. Nick is a magnificent all around barber and a fun, genuine guy. He made everything look easy and knew what to do without thinking. I will never go anywhere else as long as I live in mn. What can I say, the guy can cut

The human tending to my hair taught me much about human affairs, especially those involving the courting of women and many women at once. My understanding is that courting women is a difficult skill to acquire and so is the act of juggling. I imagine combining the two skills, juggling many woman at once, takes a truly skilled human. I just moved to Minneapolis from Washington state and I just tried this place and it was great! It would be enough to just get a great haircut, but the atmosphere at Top Rank was equally as good. It is a nice shop with good conversation. I will not be going anywhere else.

I brought my 7 year old son in today. He has blonde awkward hair, straight and wavey on top. Curls on the back and sides. I've taken him to numerous places in the Robbinsdale/Crystal area. Never had seen him with a great cut...fine but not "Wow". Today he got a "Wow" cut at top rank barbers! So cute I cant stop looking at him and he feels fantastic :) Not only did they make his hair look incredible but they incourage him to become president one day, lol.
