I enjoyed my appointment with Stella so much I booked an upcoming appointment with her in the future. This is something I have never done before. She is an excellent stylist.

**update: I scheduled a haircut at 5:30pm online. It was super easy. 10/10 would recommend** They cut hair well. Better than great clips but not a salon. Most of the stylist know what they are doing and out of the 30 plus time I've been here I've only had one bad cut and I got a $5 coupon for my next visit. Only complaint is you can't schedule hair cuts after 5 at night.

Got my haircut here yesterday, and I got nothing but compliments for the staff. Hannah was awesome and so kind, she also gave me, without a doubt, the best haircut I have ever had. They also had some sweet deals on hair product too that I got as well. To anyone wanting to get their haircut go here! Also try to be as accurate as possible with what kind of cut you want, whether it be just a trim, a midlength cut, or a shave. They have lots of clients and are very busy, so being concise with the cut you want helps them with planning their schedule out and helps you get the exact look you want. Overall I had a great experience there, and will definitely be going back to Hannah again

Traveled out of town from another state for a business conference. I needed to get a fade haircut, after reading reviews decided to go with Floyd’s 99 Barbershop. I had the best experience coming to this barber shop, the environment was chill, the team is friendly, and the haircut, the hair cut was 11/10 fantastic! Amber took her time cutting my hair, gave me the most relaxing shampoo and after cut head massage. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. They didn’t even ask me to leave a review, they where just that good.

Great barbershop. Receptionists and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The guy that does my hair, Chris, is awesome. He always does a great job and at this point I'm almost afraid to go to someone else. It's usually busy but you're able to call ahead and schedule up to a week in advance.

We are doing a shaved design next time and I am thrilled! Atmosphere is very punk rock, walls are decorated with album covers, music is great. All the people seem exceptionally nice.

Still the best value in town, and often the best customer service. I've had cuts with numerous amazing and friendly stylists here, including Erica, Kat, and many more. They are very flexible and accommodate my picky styling requests; they are social when I feel like talking, and quiet when I feel like relaxing. Nice place & location. Receptionist was very friendly. However, the barber didn’t speak other than asking me what I wanted to get done & just started going straight into my cut that she ended up taking off more than what I had wanted. Also added a wash and shampoo which I didn’t know I wouldn’t get to receive. Otherwise, decent place.

I had been looking for a long time for a hair place which was less expensive then a salon but could provide trendier cuts then a great clips (for the money great clips is excellent). The first thing I asked for was a “peaky blinders” haircut and my stylist knew exactly what I wanted and wanted to know which character’s hair I was most going for (Cherry G. is now my regular stylist and she is great!). Love it here and it is a great balance of style at a good price.

Decided to check it out because I was desperately in need of a hair cut and beard trim before a corporate meeting this week. Nicolle S made sure everything was absolutely perfect and to my liking, provided tips on hair care until my next visit, and even took care of my unsightly unibrow so I'm 100% on my game for this meeting! And since it was my first time here I was pampered a little extra with a free shampoo/scalp massage while relaxing with a hot towel on my face. After everything was said and done she finished it off with beard oil. 100% worth every penny and I think I just found my go-to stylist in the metro. Loved it!

So let me start by saying my mom was the only one I would let cut my hair for my 29 years on this Earth. My ma has been doing hair for 30+ years however we no longer live in the same state so I reasonably had to outsource. Caitlin is the first person I trusted to cut my hair .... I kind of had a high bar to reach. She definitely exceeded my expectation. The reason I tried this place is because my wife gets her hair done here. We have two completely different hair styles and type. I actually know a few people that get their hair done here and I have never seen a bad style come out of the place. I like to read reviews that other people have posted and I had to laugh at the great clips guy haha. Anyways. My line is straight my shave is clean and my top is textured. I grew up in a hair salon. I know what to expect the prices are amazing for what you get. I will gladly set an appointment to get what I want.... I find humor in people complaining about wait times then being pissed when they feel rushed. Happy to wait for a good outcome happy to set an appointment so I can express what I want. The staff is friendly and they do a great job. This is hands down the only place I will get my hair cut while I live in this state. Highly recommend.

Great spot for getting your hair cut & styled. These people know what they're doing. Top notch cuts, modern styles, and a friendly staff. The atmosphere is unique and fun. Music is usually pretty on point as well - no Top 40s or bland mall music. Sarah is my preferred stylist - she's friendly, fun to talk with, and gets my hair perfect every time. I definitely recommend this spot for your next cut. The prices are very fair and there is a good variety of services to choose from whether it be shampoos, cuts, or beard trims, they've got it covered.

If I had to say say something wrong with this place id say parking isn't the best but, its worth the find for a great hair cut.

Very accommodating! I came in 30 minutes before closing as a last minute walk-in. They were more than happy to take care of me. I recieved a fantastic hot towel head shave and beard cut. My barber, I believe his name was Maleek, stayed after closing just to make sure my service was professional and complete. The prices may be a bit high, but totally worth it. I will definitely be coming back.

Outstanding! We make sure to stop here every time we visit Minnesota right before we go back to whatever state we're living in. It's hard to leave a trusted shop every 2 years and find a new one over and over again. Few places have a quality shops like this. Whatever you're looking for, you can trust Floyd's to take care of you 😉 Their atmosphere is just my type, but may not be for everyone (as I've seen many special folks complain on here about bit that's ok). Amazing stylists and customer service, helpful advice, honest opinions, considerate, always makes sure you're sure, open to suggestions, pride in their work, and I could go on. I had Sarah today who was very sweet and really brought me out of my little introverted shell. So, with all that being said, thanks again!

Gen gave me an awesome clipper cut. For the 1st time in a decade I don't look like I just registered for Bible camp. Prices are super reasonable and product line seem dam good although I don't have much experience in that department. If you need a new look I recommend you give them a shot.

I got my first haircut here a couple years ago. I used to just buzz my own for a while but as I started to grow it out I got more particular about how my hair was cut. After failing to get in at a couple non-chain shops I decided to give Floyd's a try. I was so pleased with the results (and the compliments I received) that I haven't bothered to look for another place to go. I even moved away from the area but still make the trek to get my hair cut here. Ask for Vince and you won't be disappointed.

You’ll either love of it be lukewarm towards Floyd’s. If you’re a young white man looking to get a “really good” haircut for the first time, this place is excellent. But as a guy with 4b hair looking for a fade, I’ve had mixed results. If you’re a man of color, you can probably find cheaper service with better results elsewhere.

Great place. Been coming here for over a year. All the stylists know what they're doing. Great vibe inside. Good music and always have sports on too. The hot towel, straight edge on the back of your neck and shoulder massage put this place over the top. They periodically have 2 for 1 sales on the styling 'pucks'. Highly recommend.

I have gotten my hair cut here for about 2 years now never making an appointment and from just about all the hair stylists and have only once felt like I received a hair cut I didn't like. Hit or miss depending on which barber/stylist you have. And wait times can be a little crazy at times...But like that you can now book reservations a week in advance, that wasnt always the case. I have had the worst cut and the best cut at this place. And Ive lived in different metropolitan cities and frequented many barber shops.. Id put this location at the middle of my top ten.

I've been getting my hair cut at this Floyd's for about two years now, and I really like it. At about $23 plus tip, it's priced somewhere between cheap places like Sportclips/Great Clips and more expensive psuedo-chic salons. For me this is the right mix of quality and value. While my haircuts are pretty simple and straight-forward, my stylist always seems pretty informed about styles and trends, and is still receptive to doing exactly what I want. She's really great at offering helpful insight when I'm not really sure if I can pull off the style I think I want, but not being overbearing with her opinion. I've never had a bad experience, but like I said, my needs are relatively basic. The free straight razor neck shave after each cut is also a unique touch. I'll note that I've only had appointments with Colleen, so your mileage may vary with others.

Caitlin B. is awesome. I wear my hair in what's considered a men's style, and I've had to argue with stylists at more traditional salons because they didn't want to cut my hair short enough. At Floyd's I didn't get the judgmental, "Are you SURE you want it that short?" Caitlin knew exactly what I wanted and she got it right the first time, and every time since. And when I ask her opinion on a hair style, she actually gives me an opinion, not the typical noncommittal "Oh I don't know, it's really up to you..." And instead of making awkward small talk with a stylist who has nothing in common with me, I get to talk about things I'm actually interested in, like video games and comic books. I like that Floyd's actually has some personality, unlike the cookie-cutter salons that cater to Minnesota soccer moms. It's such a relief to have found a salon I actually enjoy going to. Thanks, Caitlin! I always make an appointment. Honestly, I recommend making an appointment at ANY salon, rather than a random walk-in. Develop a relationship with a regular stylist -- you'll get much better results.

I've been to Floyd's three times to get my hair cut and have always had a good experience. The first time Justin cut my hair, the second time Belle, and Courtni the last time. I often go at least a month too long without a cut because I don't like the uncertainty and fear of putting my hair at the mercy of another person. I don't think I can use that excuse anymore. Courtni was very kind and sympathetic to my aversion to fragrances, gave a great cut, and displayed a high level of conversational agility.

I won't be going anywhere else for haircuts anytime soon. This place has a truly unique atmosphere and a friendly staff. Free straight-razor neck shave and quick shoulder massage following the cut is a plus. Four stars for the long (understandable, but often much longer than they say it will be) wait times. Floyd's is an experience unlike any salon or barbershop that I have visited. The walls are decoupaged in old and new music posters and the atmosphere is fun and inviting, yet has a sense of time-honored sophistication. Everyone has their own unique style and look, and it made me feel right at home. It's a classy joint to say the least. Laura was the one to experience the curly mess on my head and she knew exactly what to do, even before I told her what I really wanted. She was efficient and friendly and I enjoyed the experience very much. It was the first time that I have been truly relaxed and was able to just let someone new cut my hair. I'm very very very particular about who does my cut, and Laura was not only professional and knowledgable, but she gave me the best cut I have ever received, anywhere. And I have lived all over the US. A thank you to her and the staff for giving me a wonderful first impression of Floyd's 99 Barbershop in Uptown. I will definitely be making Floyd's my regular barbershop. On a side-note: The place had a sweet vintage feel to it and also felt like an old pub. I think serving a drink of two to patrons would make the experience even more well-rounded. Just sayin'!

Please decide whether you are a walk-in barber or by appointment only as the 2+ hour wait times are unacceptable.

Great barbershop. Its expensive but all the hair stylist know what they are doing. Im the type of guy who doesn't care what the barber does as long as it looks good. My stylist said "ok lets have fun" and did an awesome job. Dont skimp on your hairdo, a $5 haircut looks like a $5 haircut.... a $50 haircut looks like a $50 haircut.... go in a try a few stylist till you find the right one... then schedule your appointments with them. The walk in wait can be long.... call and make an appointment for sure. Again... dont skimp on your hair, people gotta look at it and it shows you actually care somewhat about your appearance. Highly recommend if your new to town or had a bad haircut somewhere else... finding a good barbershop can be hard, this is a good start.

I have received excellent results over multiple visits in past 16 months at Floyd’s 99 in Uptown. The atmosphere at Floyd’s is edgy, urban, current. Half-hour appointments ensure a top-shelf customer experience. I chose Floyd’s Uptown when looking for a barber shop or salon to update my look a little over a year ago. Prices are slightly higher than other salons and barbershops. And that is okay. You’ll get the difference in attention and the doo you walk out with. Men with beards, I’ve received very good beard trims every time I’ve added a beard trim to my list of services requested during my visit. Employees are listed as barbers or stylists. I much prefer to have my beard trimmed by a barber as they are more highly trained and experienced in tending to beards. My last visit was with Darry for a cut and beard trim. Darry, like all the other Floyd’s crew is a great conversationalist. It seems the positive vibe in the shop flows throughout everyone. Take a few minutes on the way in or the way out to check out their line of Reuzel Hair and Beard products from the Netherlands. They offer things I’ve not seen anywhere else such as a beard mousse and a sea salt spray that works incredibly well as a volumizer and will produce a totally kick-ss pompadour. Be sure to schedule yourself a few days in advance to ensure the best experience. They remain fully booked most days.

The haircuts here are amazing, the price is appropriate for the haircut, but the wait is crazy long. You can call ahead to get your name on the wait list, but that has mixed results. You can't call and ask for time slot alone - you must know the barber you want and the time slot you want.

Truly, the stylists at Floyd's are great and the prices are reasonable. But there is one thing that disappoints me almost every time I get a haircut, and that's actually getting to the chair. I don't mind being on hold for 15 minutes, only to be told that it is only a 30 minute wait. It is the fact that each time I go in, no matter if I called in or not, I and others around me are forgotten in the lobby. The attention span of some at the front desk paired with an archaic system is the perfect storm to continuously receive $10 off coupons from the apologetic staff. My advice. Call in at 10 a.m. with a 1-hour window of when you think you'll be there. Check in at the front desk. Persistently remind them that you're actually still there.

I usually get my hair cuts at fantastic Sams for around $15, until now those have been just fine. But today I wanted to try something a bit riskier, so I got a cut here hoping for the best since the reviews are already pretty good. I called ahead to make an appointment but still waited ~10mins. I asked for a pompadour since that seems to be pretty trendy at the time of me writing this. I was not disappointed with the results at all my friend. Cut was $23, the first time you come in here they give you a nice head massage with conditioner (I believe that's what they used), then I tipped another $5. For under $30 I don't think you can go wrong. I cant be certain but I believe the girl who did my cut's name was Ericka but I'm not certain, she was very polite and wasn't shy to insert her own input when a I asked for help on deciding what to do with my hair. Over all I think that this place has a great vibe going for it and from what I believe $28(including $5 tip) isn't to shabby. Great place, would recommend., I will be coming back" I dont beleive they have their own parking lot so be prepared to pay feed the meter(thats my one complaint).

Tamiya! She was the most amazing stylist and so aptly rose to the occasion. We came in, three haircuts needed, husband and twin two-year-olds. Tamiya cut husband’s hair then twins, one at a time. Husband looks hot. Kids look like little men - so cute! - and she was so patient when they got a little squirmy here and there. For what could have been a disaster we were met with patience and flexibility. It made this milestone a happy and peaceful one! Thank you Tamiya and Floyd’s 99!
