Been going here off and on for about 15+ years. Talented barbers and friendly atmosphere. They can do all sorts of styles too, especially for the younger kids like my son. This is a very affordable and quality shop, although I do miss the bow ties.

It's hard to find a good, old-school barber shop where they use a straight razor and hot shaving cream. And their vacuum on the clippers actually works, so you don't get hair all over yourself and itch the rest of the day. I enjoy the whole experience here.

It was ok. Haircut was fine but guy didn’t even try to trim the front to even out the cut and make the hairline straight. Now the left side of my bangs are longer than the right side, so I’ll have to do my own cutting at home to correct this.

4 barbers are usually on duty. It's like a trip back in time. All of the barbers are excellent, apparently much better than most regarding shorter cuts, fades, etc. You still get a straight razor trombone there too

Ian does a wonderful job! He enjoys what he does and is fun to chat with also. He takes his time and pays close attention to detail and my hair is always perfect. I go to him for a skin fade or razor fade. The price is very reasonable at $15 when I have been to shops that charge $20. I have never waited, but wouldn’t mind if I needed to.

Last week was my first visit. Lance cut my hair and did a great job. The guy who cut my hair for years retired. I haven’t been happy with the cut I got from the last 3 places but looks like my hair has found a new home. I’ll be back. As a side note, I thought it was cool that Fern Creek Barber Shop has a vacuum system hooked up to prevent hair from falling all over your clothes and on the floor. My favorite barber shop in Louisville. These men are pros. I walked in with no appointment and was seen right away--then they had me in and out in no time and gave me exactly what I wanted for a good price. If you like your hair cut short and can't find someone to do a good fade, flat top, or anything high and tight, these are your guys. Not everyone is good at those kinds of hair cuts, but FCBS will do it right and do it fast with no mistakes. Nice work, guys!

I'm new here, but from what I've seen this is a pretty nice place. The folks here are pretty friendly and it has a clean environment. Over all a good haircut and a very reasonable price. I think I paid 15 bucks but left a 5 dollor tip.. I would recommend!

Don't know the specific barber's name, but he's like a hair cutting robot. You could tell it's all second nature to him now. Super quick, great cut, great price. He listened to what I wanted, didn't cry about having to cut shaggy hair, and got it done with precision. Will be back.

I came to fern creek barber shop and they saw and understood exactly what i was having trouble with and fixed it. Have been going there since. They are cheap for a haircut but do a great job.

$ A landmark of excellence. I have received haircuts from all over the 502 area, but without fail, I ALWAYS end up back here. Conveniently located on Bardstown Rd. In the heart of Fern Creek. The staff varies from the older veterans of the industry, to the up and comers who pay attention to the current styles and how make it happen for you. Every barber there is a true class act. I don't think I have ever gone in there and waited more than 5 or 10 minutes for a chair to come available. What I like the MOST about FCBS is their consistency! I have noticed throughout the course of my years in this meat suit flying through space on this rock, that even the most dedicated and well trained groomsman, can have an "off" cut. And I am sure it happens, but I am yet to walk away from there unsatisfied. Its not just the quality, its also the value. The prices vary depending on the service, but I bet dollars to doughnuts, that its less than one of those chain shops, or one of those gimmicky nitch places. FCBS doesn't need a gimmick. They have got well trained, friendly, knowledgeable staff at affordable prices that consistently provide a solid service. I also want to mention that their clippers have a vacuum on them, so hair isn't draped all over you for the day. And the attention to detail is remarkable. I take my 2 year old son here all of the time. They are quick and neat. They have the clippers that suck up all of the hair, so no mess. They are not really listed as a child's shop, but they do a quick clean job. They put up with his wiggles and make him feel like a little man. We love making the drive.
