Jackie gave me the best haircut of my life. Right away she noticed everyone else had been doing it wrong and then people kept doing it that way. She fixed it and now I don’t use product because it just falls perfectly. I will book Jackie at Shorty’s every time now.

I stumbled upon this location when searching for a new barbershop on Instagram. I went down the rabbit hole and found that most (or all) of the barbers have Social media to see their work! The location is very nice, clean and "hip" I recommend parking in the structure literally across from their shop. Booking my appointment was super easy and convenient on their online booking system. You can choose the service along with any barber (if you have a preference) I booked with Gio based on the cuts I saw on his Instagram. He did a fantastic job cleaning up my mop and I really appreciated that he asked questions along the way instead of some barbers who just ask what you want and then hack away. He made sure to deliver quality. I will 100% be going back to Gio from now on.

Everyone here is great and it’s a very inclusive salon. I’m a queer woman and I love getting my haircut here. Plus, they don’t charge you insane prices like salons aimed towards women only. And in my experience, I’ve gotten better cuts and colors here than any salon aimed towards women I’ve tried in LA (and I’ve tried many). I go to Court! He’s my favorite and always a joy to be around. I’ll be going to Shorty’s as long as they’re open! Pics are from either day of or day after getting cuts and colors. Court always give me exactly what I ask for!

I came for a short haircut, and my stylist was very personable and helped me achieve a great look. The environment was fun, I enjoyed the collage on the wall. I wasn't seen until roughly 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment, but it wasn't a bad experience. Make sure to bring cash or a debit card to tip!

I have had the same person cutting my hair for the past 15 years. Times changed and I discovered Jackie at Shorty's Barbershop on Fairfax. I was a bit apprehensive because my guy knew every detail about my haircut, but after working with Jackie, my apprehension turned into happiness. She was awesome, attentive and easy to work with. Guys with beards in LA , listen up …. Jackie is THE BEST. I have been in LA for 5 years and never found that “one” who could do my beard right, until Jackie. She has an amazing sense of shape and proportions. I wanted a more square shape to my beard with out being “too carved.” It’s exactly what I wanted. She does the most amazing fades and my beard looks better than it ever has. She’s great to talk to , efficient, and super talented. If you give her a try you won’t go anywhere else.

I have been a proud client of Shorty’s for years. Michelle and Ivan are impeccable at their jobs and they’re never too stressed or occupied to answer the phone with congeniality and courtesy. Their app is also a well designed piece of technology that can get you booked without more than 5 clicks. But the reason I keep my loyalty in check is due to Brandon. He’s the consummate professional, whose penchant for detail is admirable. He strikes a great balance between conversing about his life and yours and also ensuring that you’re in and out of his chair for your sake and that of his next client. This new flock of post Covid reopening appears to be very talented and united in the mission of delivery extraordinary haircuts for the demanding clientele that can be West Hollywood.

Very good barber shop. I made a same-day appointment for a hair and beard appointment. Firstly, the cost is quite competitive. As far as the haircut goes, he didn't ask for a number, but I told him an idea, and he went with it, (he uses scissors, which is more precise). I was, and am very happy with the haircut results. I recommend, telling want, not just a number (if you even have one), but a concept, or the result ideal, and they'll figure out how to get it done. For the beard, (i have a long one of over 4 imches), it was my 1st time going to a barber to trim / shape it. I told him I wanted it to look nice, and i that trust his judgement to perfect it based on my face-shape etc, (he told me his thoughts, but i reiterated afterwards that the main idea is that we do whatever he thinks is best). But, regardless, i am very happy with the results, amd beard looks really neat. I definitely plan to return every 4 to 5 weeks. Really cool folks here.

I haven't been to Shorty's for probably 11 years, only because I moved away then came back. Today I called and they recommended Anthony. OMG Anthony is awesome!! I showed him some pictures of haircuts I liked but he took the time to explain why those would not work for my hair texture, he still gave me a great cut anyhow. Anthony made me feel so comfortable and I really had a great time talking with him... If I could give Anthony 10 stars I would!!!

It's not the cheapest, but I got a great haircut and it was done in a jiffy, just like I like it! I complained about the higher price for women (unfair!) and since I have short hair, I was allowed to get a man's cut. Super happy with it! Would definitely do it again!

I've been going to Shorty's for what must be 25 years now... even before they moved to their current location. (they used to be located a couple of blocks further north on Fairfax). I know with this barber shop that no matter who I get assigned to me to cut my hair I'm going to get a good haircut. I believe their price for the standard haircut has gone up recently. It's more than I like to pay, but it's certainly comparable or less expensive than the majority of other trendy or more recently opened hair cutting salons and barber shops in the area.

I have been coming here for maybe 6 years. I make an appointment with my preferred stylist, Dee, whom I adore both as a person and for my wonderful haircuts -- so my review is, of course, about a highly individualized experience. But I have gotten haircuts from many of the the stylists and have never been disappointed. The vibe is very informal and neighborhood, but once I am in the chair I feel like I am in some high-end joint in Beverly Hills, instead of on Fairfax Avenue. A friend recommended this place to me those 6 years ago, and I am so glad he did!

I passed this shop few times and it looked cool from outside. When I needed urgent haircut before my interview, I called them midday and was able to get in within 15 min. Julie was great, attentive and educational about both my hair and products I can use. And shampooing after haircut...feel like a baby again! Anytime I'm in West Hollywood and need haircut, I'm back at Shorty's!

I went here for the 1st time & got my haircut by Chris! He's awesome at designs! I have a Mohawk with shaved sides & he took his time (about an hour) to create a unique/clean design & I received nothing but compliments for weeks on his masterpiece! Love this shop! The atmosphere is awesome as well. Everyone is very nice, upbeat & bubbly. Sorry to all of the people who commented & said they had negative experiences. Try it out for yourself is all I can say.

Usually I get a great cut here. Every once in a while, you'll get someone who doesn't jive with your style. Though I've usually been really pleased with most of the people here. I highly recommend Dee. She always gets it right and is full of great conversation. I've always left more than pleased with her cuts and I get complements on her work all of the time.

I have been going here for years. The best! Love Pita, Rick, Cesar, etc. it’s also super cool and hip. Good vibe. I use a few of their products as well. Putty and the peppermint shampoo. Both the haircut and products are inexpensive. They always have done me right! Five stars.

I used to go to Shorty's and I was lured away to another place because of a discount and a friend's recommendation. For a while it was ok, but then twice in a row I got the worst haircuts I've ever had. So I came back to Shorty's. And now three of four times in a row with all different stylists (I think it costs extra to choose a specific stylist and I'm poor enough that I can be lured with discounts), I've walked away with cuts that I love! The staff is friendly and the vibe is inclusive. Love em!

I've been here a few times and I really love it. I go to a guy named Rick, who is amazing. I read in a few reviews that some barbers spent about 10 minutes, but Rick always takes longer, which I like. He really takes his time to make sure everything is perfect. $27 for a haircut that is better than some professional salons that I have been to and spent way more is really hard to beat. Save yourself a headache and go see Rick!

Very Friendly staff and the hairstylists are up on the newest trends in hair to the classic mullet with rat tail. Just don't ask for that. They also have high standards to products the sell. And I wanted to give a shout-out to the service that one barber there in particular provides. ANTHONY takes whatever directions you offer in terms of the cut and he executes those directions terrifically and efficiently. And he takes cues as well in terms of engaging in conversation or not.
