When you have a barber that you trust fully, He/She will be your best friend. Before I met Luis, I was back and forth with so many others, trying new barbers, and no one was able to cut my hair the way I like it. And it's simple. Just a mid bald fade, little off the top, tighten up the sides. Luis took me in 7 years ago. I've never looked back since. He is attentive to detail, professional, he listens to your desired needs, and he takes his time. My basic cut that would take someone 20-25 minutes, Luis takes 45 minutes on average. Making sure that every strand of hair is accounted for. I cant say enough good things about him. Long hair, short hair, hot towel shaves, shears, this guy does is all! Make sure you book with him at least a week in advance, I am certain he will be the last barber you'll ever book with.

I've been here a number of times over the years and have ALWAYS gotten really good haircuts. The best haircuts in my life have come from here. Each time, I don't pick a style, just ask the barber to do their thing. Last couple of times a dude named Ricardo (I believe), hooked me up big time. Must visit!

I usually have a really hard time explaining how I want my hair cut and usually leave frustrated then having to grow my hair out again to try another shop or barber. But luckily I was booked with Luis and he really took the time to listen and used SO many visual aids to make sure both of us were on the same page before he started cutting. I walked out with exactly what I needed and he even showed me how I could style my hair as it’s still growing out. I’ve been to this shop before but never had this much attention to detail until I sat in Luis’ chair. Also the cut was just a good time with chill convo and some good laughs. I’m definitely coming back and willing to following him to whatever barbershop he goes to next.

My barber danilo apparently move to New York . Excellent work .. Now that he's gone I got a hair cut with his partner, After I show a photo of Danilo's work. He couldn't get it correctly. Not even close.. Disappointed ofcourse. I end up going to another barber shop to fix the issue.. Pay $55 to get my hair cut wrong. Good thing hair grows back.. I'm i going back?? No ofcourse not.. If dani comes back.. I'll be there.. no questions ask....

They do accept debit cards but it ran it as a ATM transaction so my bank charged my a fee for a non bank ATM transaction. I won't be returning because of that.

Been coming here for a while, Marty aka Martin is a grade A+ barber. This guy really takes his time and does quality work. Relatable and I look forward to coming down to the shop as he makes me feel like family just an overall cool dude. Other barbers there are great too, but Martin IMO gives the best hair cut I have ever had and I will be a lifetime customer forever!! I recommend this shop they don’t hustle you on pricing either and everything is on the up & up. Thanks again Martin!! And thanks again for always making your schedule flexible. Highly, highly recommend!!

I recently went to Bolt Barbers while I was visiting LA for a wedding, and I'm now somewhat tempted to fly to LA just for a haircut! Gio was phenomenal all the way around — great attention to detail for (especially given I had an event that night), perfect vision for how to cut my hair specifically (how the cut would fit the shape of my head, dealing w/ my cowlicks, how the cut would fall that night, and how it would grow out). Without exaggeration, it's the best haircut I've ever had. I immediately went home and took photos so I can show my barber here in SF what to do next time. Thanks Gio!

I live in NorCal, but was in LA on business. I realized I needed a haircut before my meeting the next day. I walked-in and there was a barber available. He had an appointment coming in, but he said he only had time to trim my sides but he'd make it fly AF. I was in the chair and done in 25 minutess with a clean fade, straight part, and my impossible cowlick tamed. I had a beer while he gave me a cut and he told some cool stories about Chicago. The greeter was cool and knowledgeable about the products and what would be best for my hair. Highly recommend if you're in DLTA.

Have been coming here before the pandemic and decided to come during only to see a barber not following safety guidelines, this was the second time coming here to find him still not wearing a mask. He even sneezed and coughed while I was there, I was very concerned for my safety.

Still digging my haircut I got. I have had trouble finding a place that can cut my hair because of my crazy schedule, I found these guys - the only ones open after 10PM on a weeknight and was able to stop by. Prices were solid and I was happy I could make it before I flew out the next day. Again only place open and best place I have had my haircut in a long time. Highly recommend them. It is better to call ahead and get an appointment FYI.

Truly an experience. How can you beat getting a haircut in a retro barbershop, while having draft beer in hand. Daniel did a fantastic job while we were here. Treated us like we were the only two in the whole place. Great cut, great service.

Was in LA for work and forgot to pack my shaving kit. The barber took her time and made sure all the lines of my beard were defined and there were no stray hairs anywhere. It took like an hour but I had the best shave I’ve ever gotten.

Honestly I came in as a “walk in” client and I was treated fairly and respectfully. My barber David, supercool looking old aged man COMPLETELY fixed my hair since I had cut it myself before. He actually surprised me with a style ontop that has me satisfied and wanting the same style again. All my hair request were done and was given a free water. The environment is an old school rockabilly setting with monkey decorations and awesome hair products at the counter! Overall this place is a friendly and clean space with VERY skilled cutters like David! Thanks for reading.

Drove from all the way from Santa Barbara to get a haircut, Vitaly was the person who cut my hair and I have to say what a perfect job he did, I will drive all over again from Santa Barbara just to get a haircut with him again. He nailed my haircut perfectly, better than any barber who’s cut my hair in Santa Barbara. He was really friendly and a nice person to talk to while getting a haircut, I can’t say thank you enough for the great transformation he gave me, I felt like a whole new person after he styled my hair once the haircut was over. Im not going to lie I'm super biased when it comes to getting my hair cut mostly because I'm so used to going to my same guy over and over. Dropped in one night after a Nike shoot (wrap time was 8:30pm so that was a plus and got cut right away) so points for that. My barber was super cool did the normal talking and everything, but for some reason the idea of my cut( simple comb over with a 2 on the sides blended) didn't come trough and left me kinda jacked for my buddies bachelor party in Vegas, however dude Killed it on my beard clean up game. Looked super clean. As I was leaving I got the price and it was around $55 after tip. So that dropped some points for me. Overall 3 outta 5

I have been coming in for the last seven years. My last visit was disappointing. The barber did not do as i had asked (take about an inch off my shaggy hair and tidy it up... not too short), instead going nuts with the electric razor and giving me a buzz cut suitable for a Marine. Nothinng against those in the armed services, but this is not what i asked for. Why didn't I intervene as it was happening? Well, the barber had turned my seat so that i could not see myself reflected in the mirror before the damage was done, and it was done incredibly quickly. For a pricey haircut, it was over in about 10 minutes. One nice thing was the vibrating shoulder massage, which calmed me down from the shock when i saw all my hair gone with a "high and tight" cut i didnt asm for. I dont think i will be back again. The quality has declined over the years.

We used Bolt Barbers as luggage storage through Vertoe. Everyone at the shop was so helpful and kind. We had issues getting an uber, and they gave us water bottles and beer while we waited! We will definitely be back, next time for a haircut!

If you are looking for a clean, in style, haircut in DTLA, Bolt is your best option. I moved downtown about a year ago and had my hair cut by sports clips for years. Tried Floyds, but there are too many weirdos working at the DTLA location.. Never really knew how good a haircut can be until I went to Bolt. They actually care about how your hair looks and make sure your happy with it. I have had a few peeps cut my hair at Bolt and none I would give below an 8 out of 10. I even get a straight razor on my part and neckline. Looks so clean compared to what I have been getting the last 26 years. The place is in a dope location across from Crocker and DNO. So if you feel like showing off the new cut, grab a drink on the street. I recommend Austin. He's dope and looks for the details so your walking away lookin fresh. The place is clean and if your thirsty ask for something to drink. You'll like your options. Don't be a fool and try somewhere else. Bolt is the biz.
