Had a great experience here! Hip clean shop with very friendly barbers. Luis was very professional and gave an excellent traditional beard trim with hot towel treatment. I will be going back for a haircut soon!

My beard got out of hand so I went in for a trim. Luis cleaned me up and has me looking sharp. Nice atmosphere and friendly people. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a new barber for the last six months. The days of getting a decent cut at less expensive brand businesses are rare if any. I saw Ceejay on a You Tube Video which got me interested. This business already had great reviews so I saw this as a Sign from Heaven to check it out. The shop has an old skool vibe and the waiting area is comfortable. If you’re bored you can people watch out the large street facing window. Parking is free but you have to let them know so they can open the gate to the back parking lot. I was there for my appt. at 6 pm. After speaking to Ceejay about my thinning hair issue. I asked him for a cut that would make me look decent. He did way better than that! He started the cut and the shop has a nice peaceful easy to talk atmosphere. By the time he was done I put my glasses back on to see the results and was amazed. I was asking him, “Whose head is this?” When I looked in the mirror. It didn’t look like me. I was happy. Not only finding a great place but also a great barber. This was my Xmas Present to me. Definitely a returning customer. Appts are booked on their website. I waited almost two weeks for this slot. Definitely worth the wait.

I've been looking for a place like this for 5 years and finally my wish has come true. Ever since I left NY I've been dying to find a good barber, one that's good with the scissors and the razor. Hard to find that combo on the island, everyone wants to pound out 12 dollar buzz cuts in 15 mins. If you care about your haircut and don't mind taking the time for a good cut then definitely make an appointment and go down to Golden Hawaii. My barber was Mark and I couldn't be more happy. He took the time to let me show him a few pics , and listened to what I had in mind since it was my first time there. Mark doesn't rush, and his attention to detail is exactly what I like. The atmosphere there is great, the shop is spotless and you really just couldn't ask for much more. Now this definitely isn't the cheapest spot but I'm ok with paying for a quality product. It's cash only so don't forget to stop at the ATM ahead of time. See you guys soon

Great spot for a haircut. Easy online reservations. Cash only. There is parking in the back, it’s easy to miss since it’s a very narrow entrance. the spots are real narrow but it works.

The staff was well equipped to cut my 3yo son's hair even though they aren't a kids salon. They were great at calming his nerves and introducing their equipment to him before they started cutting. Service was quick and efficient. Saw quite a few kids come here for cuts. Will be back!

Lou, so much I can say of this well rounded man, from a hair cut, a great conversation starter and a Navy Man. There is so much more I can say but if I did you may not stop in and meet him and the barbers, Great Guys! Ladies, stop in and get a trim I did.

Best barber shop on the island. Friendliest barbers and most considerate haircuts you could ask for. The haircut itself is some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ve gone to barbershops for the past ten years when the ‘trend’ started but in all honesty it’s so much more then just getting an excellent haircut, it’s the personal attention to detail. Ben is a true craftsman and I wouldn’t trust my follicle’s fate with anyone else. Book online ahead of time because it is so popular. Cash only for services. Parking is free and convenient.

It's a refreshing concept and cool atmosphere inside. I appreciate the neatness of it and the comraderie that takes place. I have been there twice and have not been let down at all with the haircuts I've gotten. I get offered drinks as well. The last place where I got my haircut did not receive me well. The person who cut my hair made no conversation and didn't even say say thank you or come again. I recommend this place to all the guys that want to experience a barber shop for guys with a classy-retro atmosphere where you'll be treated quite well and be satisfied by a cool cut and beard trim. I moved to Honolulu last year from Canada, and was intrigued by this place when I was looking for my first haircut here. I ended up booking with Ben, and have been back many times since then, including just the other day. I don't know how to "talk hair" really, but I tell him what I think I want and it always turns out great! Oh and in case anyone's afraid to get their hair cut these days -- as someone who's really finicky about staying safe through all this, I can say their COVID protocols are top notch. They really go above and beyond!

This review is long overdue; a year at most, lol. Moving into town, hubby needed a new barbershop to get his haircuts at. First time there, he walked in to inquire about an appointment. My grandson just wants to be cool with the dudes. He rocked a faux-hawk all summer. Still wants a Mohawk! HG is the best!! Very clean and always on time.

Would have been five stars but the place seems to be changing, there's a new crew there but the old barbers were good. Maybe the new guys will be ok just seems like a lot of changes recently. They also recently upped prices since their competitors did as well, it disappointing reason you'd expect a local barbershop to be a bit cheaper than someplace like premier or mojos which both have prime locations. They communicated it via email but ive had a sour taste since then and slowly have been looking for an alternative. No loyalty programs either which is disappointing when you're dropping $50 for a haircut after tip. They have their own hair products which were pretty good and I've used for over a year. Since I'm switching shops I'll likely be switching product too. Parking is ok as they have a lot in the back and the street stalls are sometimes open
