After my barber retired I was in search for a new barber. I found Garrett’s because my wife frequents the massage studio next door, so I’m in the location often. I scheduled an appointment about a month in advance. I got an email and text notification of the appointment being scheduled and how I would receive confirmation soon. After a couple weeks I didn’t receive confirmation and thought maybe I did something wrong. The confirmation did come though about 1 week before my scheduled appointment, which makes sense. I found the online scheduling very convenient. I chose next available barber and my appointment was scheduled with Danielle. After reading some other reviews about people who walked in and waited only to leave in disappointment, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I walked in and there were two barbers working, each with a client. I must have looked awkward as I stood at the front reading the signs and checking out the area. One of the barbers did ask if I had an appointment and I said yes with Danielle. He said ok, she will be right out and I can take a seat. She was out soon after and my appointment started on time, maybe even a little early. The place was very clean and welcoming. It had a real professional atmosphere. Danielle’s barber chair and work station was also very clean and professional looking. However, my beard was not trimmed to my satisfaction. I blame myself because I didn’t ask for it to be further trimmed, or at all actually. In fact, I gave very little instruction, which is exactly how I prefer it. I only showed Danielle a couple images and told her what I liked and didn’t like, she took care of the rest. I can’t remember how many times I’ve come home after a cut only to find it’s not what I wanted, or liked. Even more times I’ve told myself I just need to let it grow out a little and it will be perfect. Not this time though, after I cleaned up my beard. I have scrutinized my hair after Danielle cut it and I can’t find anything wrong with it, or something I dislike. In fact, this is probably one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. I’m thinking I will most likely return to Garrett’s.

Garrett’s is great! I’m neurodivergent and tend to struggle with haircuts. I tend to put them off as long as possible but having Shannon there to cut hair is awesome. She’s clear and communicative and deals with my hair which is something I’ve never learned to do. The rest of the staff is friendly and kind and the decor is cool. If you haven’t been before and you need a quality haircut without breaking the bank, I definitely recommend Garrett’s and Shannon specifically!

Been going to Garrett’s for a few years now and the staff are outstanding. One of the best decisions they made was moving to appointment only, this improved the experience by eliminating wait times and forcing customers to book ahead of time. Will always recommend.

Garrett's Barber Shop is by far the best barbershop I've tried. They have a clean and inviting atmosphere, good music (that isn't too loud or overpowering), reasonable prices, and most importantly a staff of talented and capable barbers. For a while I just went with whichever barber was available, but eventually ended up sticking with Shannon because she gives great haircuts, understands what I mean when I describe what I want, and gives fantastic advice on styling products/techniques without making it feel like a "to-do" list. I highly recommend Garrett's Barber Shop to anyone in the central Connecticut area.

Garret’s came highly recommend by a friend, I chose to get a cut and shave there the day before my wedding. The atmosphere is awesome, great music, and the chairs are super comfortable. Corey did an amazing job, he spent an hour an half on me making sure everything was perfect for my big day! As a first time customer I was blown away by the service of this place. I’ve never looked so good, nor had such a great experience with a barbershop. I will be back for sure!

Best barbershop I've been to in Connecticut. Appt only so no wait times. Staff is courteous, trained, and listen to your wants and needs while making recommendations if asked on cuts, styling, or product. Highly recommend Corey Hoffman if you are looking for a new barber!

This seems like a nice place to get a haircut if you become a regular. I had a single hair cut here and had to come in on one of their non-appointment days, because they were booked up for the next several weeks. I mean, good for them for getting that much business, but it was really convenient for me. I waited for over 45 minutes, though the haircut itself was very nice, and the price seemed reasonable for what you got, but it might be a bit much for your average Joe.

Absolutely love this place! I went on a Tuesday mid-afternoon and was helped with no wait. I was preparing to wait for a while because I heard this place was popular but they were able to take me right away! This is a hip place with style and I love everything from the empty whiskey bottles that they use to dispose of old razors to the mirrors with stickers on the back. This is a place with personality. I love the haircut I got and got my beard trimmed up nicely too (Thanks Shannon!). I feel like this is the type of place that turns people into regulars after their first visit. I will definitely be returning!

Very professional and a great haircut. The ambience is great and all the employees look like they care about what they do. Additionally the model of having one barber constantly doing walk-ins is great, they were fully booked yet I still got a haircut without a long wait. Would recommend, and I'll tell my dad to start coming here since he's been looking for something like this.

My husband has been going to see Corey for a while and has always been so happy with his hair cut and beard trim. 5 stars for that. But this review is really about how Corey took care of my 2 year old son today. For my son's precious 3 haircuts, we went to one of those kid specific hair cut places and my son has always had a meltdown. We figured we'd give Daddy's barber a try. Corey was fantastic. My son was happy throughout the whole haircut and is so proud of it! So, not only does Corey do great haircuts (for all ages) and beard trims, but he handles stubborn, tantrum-prone toddlers with ease! Thank you so much!

Garrett's is an excellent barber shop with a lot of talented people working there! I've been going since I was a kid and had the opportunity to get my hair cut by Garrett himself. My only issue is the price is a little high but you always end up with a great haircut!

The only barber shop I've had an extraordinary experience every time. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality and atmosphere. Garrett and the whole team put a great emphasis on making sure every customer is satisfied and comfortable from the second they walk in the door to when they walk out. If you're looking for a shop that delivers awesome results every single time, this is the one. Check out their hair products too, Founders pomade is the only product I've used that can hold my hair without leaving me looking like a a shiny porcupine.

The only negative reviews of this barbershop are people whining about how hard it is to get in. Really, doesn't that tell you everything you need to know about the quality of their service? Demand is high for a reason. The barbers here know their trade, and the atmosphere is classic and comfortable. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment.

This place is great. Garrett, Elias, and Danielle take pride in their work. I go 20 minutes out of my way to enjoy their services, conversation, decor, music selection, and overall knowledge. A professional shave is a lost art that they've perfected. I always enjoy my visits.

Get a great look and what you need for so much less with a blended casual/gentleman atmosphere to boot. Ive gotten my beard/haircut done at art of shaving a few times before for special occasions. Whole 9 yards treatments but the bill to match. I've gotten two excellent trims/cuts so far with everything I wanted and nothing I didn't for less than 1 trip to AoS. I'm going to Garrett's now.

Referred by my spikey styling cousin, whose hair is always amazing, I figured this place has to be great. I was a walk-in, so I waited my turn and then was called up next by a barber named Jon. He understood what I wanted, suggested some great ideas and went at it like Mr.Scissorhands. was amazing to watch him work and when he was done, I couldn't be happier with the end result. Yesterday I had my second haircut from John at Garrett's. I have never had so many compliments about a haircut as I did about this one. I am in my 60's and so when I'm told I look five years younger, that is saying something. I hesitate to recommend John however as I don't want him getting busier as it will make it harder to get an appointment!
