Jk guys. fav place. Go here long enough and they'll cut your hair so it looks even better when it grows in a cpl months later depending how long you go between cuts. But you gotta be a regular and stop in every so often so they can see your hair after a week then a month, bring a gift or something ie. old floppy drive so you don't look weird poppin in like you have no friends or something. Can't get an appointment in time try Jude's maybe?

Good cut. Reasonable price. Being able to book an appointment made it doable to get a haircut on a work break. They were spot on with their scheduling. Edit, best cut I've ever had today. Proper fade, great top, high fade as requested. Knew what I was going for despite limited input. Brow looks great. Good neck clean up. Burn transition was great.

Really great service and a cool environment, a modern day version of an old school style barbershop. The guys take their time to make sure that your hair looks exactly how you want it cut. A little pricy for some ($30 for a haircut) but definitely worth it.

5 stars. I walked in and felt comfortable; the shop was clean and bright. Davis was able to squeeze me in, and I'm glad he did. I needed my undercut faded -- he did a fantastic job! We had good conversation, and he talked me through every step. I will be returning again. I would highly recommend.

This place is incredible. I went because my brother recommended it, and said it was well worth the price, and he was right. I got a great haircut, and the atmosphere was really chill. With some barbershops, the vibe is so overpoweringly masculine that, as a trans guy, makes you unsure of how you’ll be treated. The pride flag above the door set me at ease immediately. The guy who did my hair didn’t really say much, but I’m also pretty quiet so that was fine by me. Definitely my new go-to!

Been going to the guys at Foremost since they opened and won’t go anywhere else. I used to travel an hour+ to find a good barber but then I moved back to GR and I was thrilled when foremost opened. Prior to COVID you would have to wait up to 2hrs to get a trim but they’ve adjusted to a scheduling system and I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. Outstanding quality and legit great people. I’ve been returning for YEARS and don’t plan to find another barber anytime soon.

I have tried barbershops all over town, and this is the best by FAR. My only complaint is the wait time, but that is a sign of a good barbershop. They also offer appointments now due to Covid, which takes care of waiting. Good prices, great music, interesting decor, and most importantly, great cuts. They are consistently good, they do not rush you in and out, and they dont rely all on clippers like many others do. Do yourself a favor, skip out on all the other barbershops in GR and give these guys your money. I experimented with places that charged less $, but the extra few bucks is 100% worth it.

Best spot in town for a haircut! These guys saved me from the "horrors" of Great Clips. Unfortunately, my hair was demolished from a local Great Clips and I stopped here to get everything fixed up. All of these guys give an excellent hair cut. I've been going here for almost 3 years now and I have always received the best service and hair cut. TIP: when you get there sign your name on the chalk board. They are CASH ONLY $$. If the shop is busy, sign your name on the board and sit down, or grab some coffee/food nearby (it gets crammed inside when people are sitting & standing around... they will appreciate you signing your name on the board and coming back later). They also have a great assortment of men's hair products for styling!

Absolute best place to get a haircut in GR. I’ve been coming here for three years and haven’t once left disappointed. They are all phenomenal barbers and their shop has a lot of added bonuses like good music, a comfortable atmosphere, and no forced awkward small talk. (They are all nice guys and will hold a conversation if you want, but I know some people who hate the forced small talk at other shops.) $20 is more than most chain places but I have found that these guys are absolutely worth the extra $5-$10. You can’t beat the quality and atmosphere they offer for the price they charge.

This is the first Barbershop I've been to since moving to the area and I'll definitely be returning. Walked in around 4:15 on Tuesday and had no wait. Very clean and professional shop with a great feel. Had a pleasant conversation while getting my haircut and was out in a half hour. Abundance of metered street parking around the corner.

This is the best barbershop in GR! All four barbers do a stand up job. I have been going here for the past two years and haven't had a bad haircut yet. They spend most of the time on the sides and fades, which I like. It does get busy, but it is worth the wait. Make sure to sign the chalk board when you walk in and pay with cash.

I first went there in the fall for a beard trim....was very satisfied and visited again for another. They had my trust. I've had only one hair stylist in almost twenty years, but she doesn't like trimming my beard. Today I needed a trim and a haircut and I thought I would give Foremost a chance. WOW...Andrew was great. I told him what I've done in the past and how I'm thinking of changing it up, but I also told him that I would give him "artistic freedom" to make any changes. The very best beard trim & haircut I've ever had. I'm very pleased and highly recommend the shop.

This cut that I received was done on a much longer male's hair. And the barber took his time, but it seemed like the thousand strokes he made were done effortlessly. This is the only place my husband goes to for a hair cut. The staff is very friendly, they don't mind me sitting there waiting for him to be done. There is always a list of people waiting, but the wait is never very long. W have never had a bad experience. It's a great place for men to go get a nice hair cut that doesnt cost to much, or take to long.

They always make great recommendations and I trust their judgement. Every single one of them are talented. Can't ask for a better cut. Long wait times are the only struggle, but if you are strategic with when you go, you can usually avoid super long waits.

It's a nice place, good atmosphere. I may not have been expressing what I wanted as directly as I could have been but I thought I was. Long wait, plus a lot of time wasted trimming stuff I had already expressed to be completely shaved off. Went in to have my big winter beard trimmed. Told him to get rid of everything under my jaw line cut starters. Just kept trimming and shaping all around. Finally got him to cut off what I wanted after 45 min. And then I didn't have time for him to finish it with a straight razor. Basically my purpose being there. In the end several parts of the thickness of what's left of my beard were uneven. And none of my real major goals were finished. On the bright side he only charged me $10....

These guys do a great job when it comes to hair cuts. I pretty much always get a buzzcut, but I've found it's harder to get it done right in most places. Not so here. I only gave them a 4-star rating, though, due to their straight-razor shaves. On the whole, they get the job done, but when compared to some places I've frequented over the years, the quality of the shaves is good, but not quite 5-star good. Basically, when I do get a shave, I've found it's not that close of a shave as I've had elsewhere. Also, the hot towel prep / cold towel post-shave hasn't been applied long enough or consistently enough (I've had it where it was missed) to prevent razor burn more often than not. I do love going here and the guys are great!

I've been in Grand Rapids for 5 years now and have had great difficulty finding a real men's barber shop that does quality work and performs straight razor service on the back of your neck (like a real barber is trained to do). When I walked into the shop, I signed my name on the board with the chalk and had a seat while I waited for an available chair. They had some good reading material while I waited (I'm a sucker for national geographic), and one thing I couldn't help but notice was the personable attention each barber was giving to their client in both service and good conversation which made me even more confident I was in the right place. Brennan was the first to have a chair available and he did an excellent job fixing the massacre a previous shop which will go unnamed did to my hair. He was personable, friendly, and showed attention to detail including a straight razor shave to the back of the neck. I walked out thoroughly satisfied and will be taking my hair cut business to Foremost from now on. $20 is well worth it to make sure your appearance is sharp and distinguished as it's a reflection on your character, and Foremost is both sharp and distinguished which shows in their service.

Stopped in the other day for a fade and a trim on top. I don't remember the guy that cut my hair but he spent a good amount of time perfecting the sides and making sure the fade was on point. Love these guys. Whenever I'm in SFO I get a cut at a really great barber shop that specializes in guy's cuts, including beards. Have looked and looked around GR for someone who can do as good a job as the SFO place. After many regrettable cuts I have finally found one!! Stop going to Jude's or that new place on 28th and get a cut from a proper barber.

Able to sort me out no problems when I had an incident with another barber who messed up my hairline. The other barber had me looking like Ne-Yo when I walked out of their shop such was the extent my hairline was taken back 😒. All men are created equal... All barbers are not. So whenever I'm in town and I haven't been to my regular barbershop in London this is the place I'll go to in Grand rapids.
