Getting my hair cut and beard trimmed here was an excellent experience! And the end result was perfect. Probably the best cut I’ve had in years. Ana was very professional, friendly and clearly experienced/skilled in her craft. My brother has been getting his hair cut by her for some time now and recommended I visit her at Old Gold after having a negative experience with a different barbershop. I’m very happy I acted upon this recommendation and I will be a returning customer!

I've been going to Old Gold basically since they opened. Jeremy, the owner, has cut my hair for most of those times and always does a great job. He's usually booked up pretty far in advance so I've gone to other barbers there off and on. Recently when Jeremy was going out of town, he encouraged me to try Jess, as she was new at the shop. It's always a bit nervewracking going to a new barber, but from the first time I sat in her chair, Jess has done a fantastic job. So much so, she's my main barber there now. She takes the time to listen to what youre going for and makes it happen. The place has a laidback vibe and all the cuts Ive gotten there have been really good. I'd imagine whoever you go to at OG, you will be happy with your look.

UPDATE: It's 4 years later and I'm still digging this place. It has been very cool to watch it grow to what it is now. It has a very nice vibe with many new, talented, nice people (be nice to them and show up on time!). I recently have been going to Jessi for a buzz and beard trim and I'm always happy with the results (and I'm very picky about who I let trim my beard). I like it here because I can get an awesome hair cut and beard trim for a very fair price. I've always gone to Jeremy and I have always been happy with how it turns out. I never really have to explain to him that to do he just knows. You can schedule appointments online which is really convenient. I like the set up of it too, it's a cool place.

If you’re looking for a barber - LOOK NO FURTHER. Jermey and this place are awesome! Transplant from Chicago who moved here in April. Went to 8 different barbershops before I landed here. Needless to say I haven’t looked back or gone elsewhere. Jermey is great at what he does and is also super friendly. Gives quality cuts and cares about his customers; I always do bald fade with scissor cut on top. Not sure what else you can ask for. Again 10/10 P.S.: Feel free to ask for a shot of bourbon ;).

I absolutely love Old Gold Barbershop. When I first moved to the Denver area I made it a priority to find a good Barbershop that jived with me. All of the barbers are amazing, and the environment is a fun place to be. Everybody is always upbeat and having a good time. Plus, they carry a product line (Detroit) that is absolutely amazing and I haven't seen it anywhere else. I've tried at least 10 different pastes, pomades, gels, etc. and the Detroit brand is far and away my favorite. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere with friendly people and good cuts I can't recommend Old Gold highly enough!

Loved this shop! Jeremy cut my hair and trimmed my beard with such skill and precision. I cant remember when I've had such a great cut. Gold Standard is the standard! I haven't paid someone to trim my beard or cut my hair in over ten years. I was in the neighborhood and stopped in to Gold Standard. I'm so glad I did. It's a delight to be welcomed enthusiastically and to be treated like a customer they want to keep. Now that I know how good it feels to get a trim and a straight shave...It'll be ten days rather than ten years before I visit Gold Standard.

Dakota is my go-to barber, def the best fade! Also, just a good guy - friendly, positive, always great conversations. Definitely someone you’ll want to have a beer or whiskey with - good company. The shop has done a really nice job post-covid to make sure clients and barbers are safe. Also, they are timely, scheduling is easy and cash/Venmo makes it easy for the clients.

There are dozens of options for getting your haircut around Denver. I went through Yelp, Google reviews, and misc articles to aggregate my best choice for a last minute men's haircut. Gold standard didn't have the most reviews, but what they had was consistent quality and barber name recommendations. Haircuts require an awkward level of trust, but knowing a place with barbers that are highly recommended set my mind at peace. Debra listened to my rambles, looked at my terrible pictures, and when I simply accepted her guidance I left with the best haircut of my 30 yrs of life. As I was going to a wedding, I asked for hair prep advice and she shared her wisdom in a very constructive manner. I will likely use this haircut/style as long as I have hair. This is also by far my longest review. Just know you want go wrong here.

I booked online as easy as could be for my first haircut here and it was great. Debra did a great job and good (not awkward) conversation. Close to my house so I can walk or run over. Great Danes were a huge bonus, they just hung out and slept and I got to pet them before and after the haircut. Gold Standard has a great, clean, laid-back atmosphere with chill tunes and a friendly staff. There's also a couple pretty cool little puppers running around the shop that are happy to let you give them some attention.

I get to solve all the world's problems in conversation with Jeremy. I get to relax for a short time with no pressure. And I walk out with a great looking cut feeling confident. What more can you ask for?
