First visit was great. I will return. This place rocks! Brightly lit, great staff, bustling atmosphere. This was my first visit to a barber in two years, as I decided to grow my hair out a few years back. I wasn't looking for anything dramatic, just needed to clean up the split ends. However, my goatee had gotten way out of hand, and I was looking like I just rode the rails for a month. Shelby was my barber. She has a great vibe, very friendly, and a very talented barber. I laid back and enjoyed the hot towel on my eyes as Shelby gave my head mop a nice, pro trim, and busted my hobo beard back down to respectability. Less than 30 minutes later, I was ready again for my adoring fans ;) Thanks, Shelby and Blue Star for the great service. I'm very happy to find a new barber shop. Five Stars, will return.

I just wanted a dad hair cut. What I got was an exceptional cut. The place was clean the folks were professional And I walked out very happy. Very good value

Not from Columbus but needed a hair cut and beard trim while in town. Let me tell you the price for the service was worth it. Javier cut my hair exactly how I asked and was hilarious then got my beard trimmed by the manager she did hands down the best job I’ve ever had done on my beard. Great atmosphere clean and professional. Highly recommend this place!

Mariel did a wonderful job with my hair today. I’ve been a customer at blue star for quite some time, five years or so, and have drifted from person to person, never getting an unsatisfactory cut, so I suppose I should not have been surprised by my service today, but I was. She and I spent a while in consultation prior to my cut because I’d been growing my hair out to have it cut a specific way. I wanted a loose messy slick back. A difficult cut with an aggressive fade. And I wanted it to look professional as well. She listened to everything that I wanted, smiled, and told me it would look good. And it did.

Blue Star provides a great cut in a clean and open environment. Lots of “classic” barbershop features and services, brought up to be more modern and upscale. The Grandview location is in a part of town that’s building out with plenty of off-street parking. My son and I got our cuts by Missy G., our favorite stylist who we followed here. We’re glad that she joined such a great establishment, and she always delivers perfect cuts! Special review note for 2020: Everything and everyone was nicely spread out at Blue Star, with safe practices throughout.

Overall an alright experience and hair cut; but I specifically stated I needed somebody experienced with ethnic hair (I’m Puerto Rican) all stylists stated they are experienced and will have no problem with the cut. Well she did have a problem, she didn’t like how thick my hair is and she rushed so she could get me out. It looked fine to the naked eye but there were definitely mistakes and parts where she wouldn’t cut in all different directions (what you have to do with my hair) she was not very experienced with ethnic hair as was stated.

I Got my hair cut by Amanda. I like a skin-tight fade on the sides, that is kept skin-tight (a zero) pretty high up, and then a disconnected longer (4"+) top. It's basically perfect; theres not really anything else to call it. I'm pretty scrutinous, but it is a completely smooth and even transition, all the way around, 100%.

I go here for my stylist, Justine. If you decide: “I’m going to try this place out, and I hope I get a good stylist.” Skip the chaos of stress and guesswork, just request Justine. She already knows more about your hair than you do. Just tell her to make you look good, and done. She even gives high fives (various pandemics and conditions permitting) Give the place a shot, compliment the deer, and ask for Justine. Easy.

I used to go to Great Clips due to convenience and price - but after three bad haircuts, I looked to make a change and I couldn't be happier then finding Blue Star. Here's some things I love about this barbershop: ACTUAL HAIRSTYLISTS Every haircut I've had is perfect. They don't rush me out the door but are also quick to give me a quality cut. AFFORDABLE A top notch, quality haircut for $23 actually a steal. I mentioned I used to go to Great Clips due to price - well I was young and naive because I'd get a bad haircut every other time. The peace of mind that I'm getting a great haircut for a solid price, is why I give the 5 stars. THE EXTRAS At the end of the haircut they will massage your shoulders with a machine for a few minutes but the best part is the warm shaving cream they use to clean up the back of your neck and around the ears. Gives you the old-time barbershop feel - even though you're in a modern, clean business. *Highly recommended

They offer a few extra amenities above and beyond the typical barbershop like straight razor neck shave and head massage. This said, the real appeal is I've been getting excellent haircuts here. Are you an old school traditional dude who likes whiskey, cigars, or the smell of grilled meat? If the answer is yes then you need to head on down to BlueStar and see Megan or Xavier for a good old-fashioned straight razor shave. This old school experience is absolutely worth it. Both barbers are phenomenal at what they do and amazing with their clients. So don't waste another minute get over to BlueStar it Grandview for Javier or BlueStar at Polaris for Megan and treat yourself to an old school straight razor shave
