Philip has been my barber for 3 years and he’s the best at his craft. Every haircut has been great. I go every 3 weeks and each time consistently exceeds expectations. Guys, treat yourself to the best barbershop experience at GQ.

This place is AWESOME!! I usually go to great clips but I never had a good haircut in my life. I gave this salon a shot because my friend told me about it and she recommended Miranda. This woman just made me rethink life, I asked for a mullet and that was probably the best mullet she gave someone, also very friendly and explains everything before she cuts your hair. I would recommend her too!!!

I’ve been coming to GQ for quite some time now and I’ve had several barbers who have all done quality work. However, my favorite is Miranda. She gives me the best haircut, shave, facial, and head wash/massage. Her skin fade is top notch and she knows just how to deal with my receding hairline. I can’t say enough about how good I feel when I leave this place. I know some people scoff at the price, but the quality experience you get from Miranda and the staff is better than anywhere I have ever been. It’s worth it to me to look my best and the best is what you get here. Do yourself and your lady a favor and treat yourself to the Executive. It’s worth every penny! The owner Dom is a good dude and always remembers the regulars. Best barbershop in Columbia hands down.

Went in looking like I had a mushroom head for hair and came out looking like a baddie. Miranda understood the assignment and fixed the screw-ups from the previous barber and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. The atmosphere was great, the shop was clean, and the people were friendly. I have been using this barbershop for awhile now. Usually Dominic handles my cut but everyone at this establishment is very skilled at what they do. The atmosphere is awesome as well. If you are wanting a change or have a hard time finding a place who will leave you completely satisfied then give this place a try, you will not regret it.

I got a wash and cut from Phillip D. for my long hair. Laid back, good conversation, and he provided suggestions for hair health and styling. Amazing! By far one of the best barbershops I have been to. I travel a lot and been to numerous shops around the world and I can tell you this is one of the best. The atmosphere is very cool and the staff are super friendly. I was unhappy with a haircut and came here to get it fixed. Kasie is amazing!!highly highly recommend!! She is by far the best barber I have been to. I am a very quiet/shy person but she is really down to earth and makes you feel comfortable. Easy to talk to and listens. Upon moving to SC in 2019, I visited a few barber shops around Columbia and a friend recommended making an appointment with Miranda at GQ. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! What a fantastic experience I had at this place. I walked in and wondered if I could ever afford the place. To walk in to find a pool table and being offered alcohol. I wasn't sure what to think. Very awesome experience just walking into the building. Julian was the barber and he did a fantastic job helping me by giving me some pointers as I have recently started to try and grow a beard. Every other time I had been to a barbershop or salon and everyone is rushing me out of the door to get to the next person. The price was so affordable that it didn't feel right not giving him a tip. Like I said this wasn't an ordinary haircut, this was an experience and a really good one. Please, go see these people so that your life is much easier for you. It is very affordable and easy to book an appointment online. I am new to the area so I had to park to the side where free parking is available(At all costs to avoid parallel parking). But I'm telling you, you're crazy if you don't come here. I'll definitely come back.

First time coming here today and I walked in and was immediately offered a complimentary drink with my appointment. The atmosphere is modern but classy and very clean! Everyone was incredibly professional and friendly. Phillip gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten and also styled it in a way i didn’t know how and he went into detail about how I can get that look on my own at home! I would’ve felt bad leaving anything less than a $10 tip because the overall experience was great and I genuinely felt like some kind of VIP. Oh they also seem like they are in a place with nowhere to park but they have a small parking garage connected to the side of the building as well as lots of public parking with tons of space all within a block or 2 from shop.

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best haircut I have ever had. The staff at GQ was warm and welcoming. Phillip Dodd (the hunk with the tattoos) got me looking right! I came into GQ looking like Tom Hanks in Castaway. When I left I was immediately mistaken for Brad Pitt. I've been going to GQ Barbershop for about a year and a half. In that time, I've had cuts from Dom, Miranda, and Hayley. I'm very particular about who my barber is, and all three of these people have been exceptional! They take time to understand what you want, and make sure you are happy as they cut. He's 12 and is not a fan of getting his haircut, but after his first cut with Miranda, he all of a sudden enjoys getting a haircut! lol There's not another barbershop in Columbia that comes close to the quality and service that GQ provides!

I’m always looking for a next level experience and in men’s haircuts. The folks at this place do a great job, but…… 1. If they had a combined package rate, I’d use all of their services. Instead of paying $35 for just a hair cut, or $25 for just a shave; why not offer a flat $50 or $60 rate where you get the works/literally all services? Folks would be more likely to choose the higher rate and everyone wins. 2. The next evolution would be to offer pedicures and massages here; however they don’t have much square footage left. Maybe just consider adding 1 pedicure person.

Love the aesthetic of this place! Website was easy to research and book. All the staff have comprehensive Instagram profiles where it’s easy to see their work. Dominic and Miranda were both very friendly and fun to talk to, and Miranda gave a great cut! This is the first time in YEARS (across multiple cities and states) a barber has actually produced the haircut I asked for with such accuracy! I have straight blonde hair, which is notoriously difficult to cut and style properly, and Miranda did both very well. I can definitely say I have found my new favorite place in town!

I walked into this barbershop as a mere mortal. Pilfering through the world, with no sense of style or direction. But when I saw Dom throwing down the sauce on the previous client, I knew my days of mediocre fades were numbered. I sat down and enjoyed post modern layout of the barbershop, it’s like Hugh Hefner meets the Jetsons. I felt like a superhero putting on his cape as I was prepped for surgery. Then out of nowhere with ninja-like precision, Dom starts spreading the proverbial butter all over my dome. The layers of the fade slowly cascaded into the creamy consistency of that trademark sauce. You may think “this sounds provocative,” oh it is. You will walk out of that place as a sexual icon. The ladies will line up for miles just to butter their popcorn with your sauce. I would highly recommend this barbershop and have personally been experiencing Dom, aka Mr. Buttersworth laying down the tightest of fades for over 4 years.

This place is awesome, I got to Columbia a little over a year ago and was searching for a place to relax and get a haircut. Thank God I found Gentleman’s Quarters! 10 out of 10 I would recommend Miranda if your looking for a professional experience, a FIRE haircut every time, and just someone to talk about life with! Me being in the military, I wish I could pack this barbershop up and carry it with me everywhere I get stationed!

Awesome cut and awesome environment. Josh was great. Super personable and really took his time on details (which is why you spend more on a cut from a place like this). I've had my hair cut at tons of places all around Columbia because I'm super picky and don't have a work schedule that allows me to book appointments months in advance. I just havent found a place that has the availability I'm looking for but also has the skill to meet my picky expectations. GQ had good availability and the barbers are super skilled and really know what they're doing. Plan on staying at this barbershop.

I struggled for a long time finding somewhere that I trust and I can honestly say that GQ is that place. I found it a few years ago have used most barbers there with zero disappointments! I generally see Phillip and I leave perfect every time! Not only is this the only place I trust with my hair, I will not allow anyone else to mess with my beard. Everyone there absolutely kills it! You pay for it, but you get every cent of what you pay for here from the service at the door to the haircut you leave with.
