I walked in and asked for a beard trim.They were booked up but Katie insisted on taking me in anyway. She was so sweet and polite. Very knowledgeable of how to take care of a beard AND the customer. Very nice atmosphere. Very clean. And caters especially to men! I will be back soon! AND I will be referring Frank's to all my bearded buddies!

The whole team at Frank’s Gentlemen’s Salon goes above and beyond to ensure the highest quality and continuously exceeds expectations. I’ve gotten by hair cut by almost everyone in the shop and I’m very picky about my haircuts. The attention to detail is extremely appreciated! Steph, the receptionist is one of the friendliest people I’ve met and even remembers which beer I prefer while waiting for my appointment. Ari, who regularly cuts my hair, is so involved with her clients that she even remembers my two dogs names. Can’t thank the staff at Frank’s enough for keeping me looking my best!

Best barber experience in Columbia! I say "experience" because I walk in and they know my drink order (bourbon rocks, included in price), wait in the man cave with the other gentlemen, get a cut/scalp massage/shampoo, followed by a style/neck and shoulders massage. The attention to detail and level of service is incredible. Most (if not only) relaxing part of my month. Now my 2 year old son has started joining me for his cuts!

Frank’s is a whole experience. You come in, grab a drink and relax in the lounge. After your haircut, you get a wash and condition, with a neck and shoulder massage. Bekah is incredibly friendly and always does an amazing job. Cannot recommend more.

The hairdressers are so knowledgeable. I went in tempted to cut off my shoulder-length hair because it had become so flat. I told my hairdresser the problems I was having with my hair and what I wanted to get out of my appointment, and her AND the owner (also a hairdresser) explained to me their vision, made sure it was okay, and then meticulously cut my hair with the highest attention to detail. As the hairdresser was explaining what she was doing I could tell she is an expert in her field, and I felt so happy I didn't impulsively cut my hair short. I ended up with a great cut that restored the missing volume and motion back into my hair, and then the hairdressers even taught me how to put it into a bun and French braid it for waves. I was given individualized attention that went above and beyond a haircut. I know I will return.

Frank's was certainly a pleasant experience. The Ladies/Staff running the place (at least, when I was in attendance) were very welcoming & kind-hearted. Please consider that they had gently tolerated me sliding it into the shop hours late for a scheduled appointment. Though I'm sure they wouldn't endorse my tardiness, at the time, they appeared to take it in stride. The physical appearance inside the shop was professional & warm. While my haircut was well done, their services are a bit pricey. I suppose the high cost affords the complimentary refreshments, waiting 'Lounge,' etc. - none of which I took advantage of. Most likely, I'll be returning.

My son, 12, and myself have been going to Bekah for about 6 months now. She has always done a wonderful job on my sons hair. Cutting exactly like the images I would show her. She is able to cleanly change the shape of my beard when asked, maintain length while cleaning up, and has a great personality while working and conversing. Today I went in for a totally different look. She was able to transform my full beard in to Friendly Mutton Chops which fit my face and changed my over all look. You could tell she was having fun getting to do something different. If you’re looking to have a child’s hair cut, beard trim, or total overhaul of your look I would recommend Bekah at Frank’s Gentleman Salon in Columbia. Already scheduled my follow up in August.

This review will be in 2 parts, one for Frank's as a whole and one for my primary Master Stylist. (If you're a "TooLongDidNotReadPerson," Franks is fantastic - Bekah C. is 5/5) I've been coming to Franks for years; I'm in law enforcement and have to get a haircut every 1-2 week(s). So I've been present through multiple turn-overs, pre and post-covid19 (IE: scheduling conflicts, short staffing, people being sick) and been passed around to numerous stylists/barbers there. I can honestly say the staff is always friendly, welcoming, and professional; small talk is encouraged, and the persistence with "Do you need a drink?" is not lacking. One of the most impressive and enjoyable parts of this place is they know you by name when you walk in and ask about the family and how you are doing on the way to the mancave. They are a very personable group of folks. I've had multiple styles (probably 7, well, 3 hairstyles and 4 variations of one, now?) Every stylist/barber has been knowledgeable and able and not afraid to ask someone else in the shop if they have a different way of doing something they aren't accustomed to. I also have yet to have someone who couldn't fill in for my regular barber and walk out happy about it. Looking through the reviews, I've seen some names that have come and gone through the years; some float between multiple Frank's locations, so I'm just going to list all of them. Pre-Management Change: Brooke S., Zoe T. Post Management Change: Mandy, Mike, and now Bekah C. is my "goto." (Bekah C.) She's very professional, meticulous with straight lines, attention to detail with stray hairs, and has a wide variety of interests for small talk to make it an enjoyable 30-45min experience. So why the 5/5 Review... (Because Google doesn't allow 4.9/5) 1. They have a new(er) policy that if you have to cancel/reschedule, you have to do it within 24hrs; having a new baby is sometimes hard, and honestly, I hate talking on the phone. I preferred it prior to 2022 when I could do it on the app. I understand that as a shop, it locks people in, allows them to see who is coming, and makes it easier to plan. However, as a consumer who talks to people every day for a living, sometimes, when I am off, I like using an app. haha

I’m updating my review from several years ago. I’ve always loved Frank’s, in fact it’s the only place I get my hair cut. Every time they would let me know that you can stop by for a touch up in between cuts for free, and it seemed like a nice feature (especially since the cuts are quite expensive for men). Today I finally decided to take them up on the offer for the first time since I’m leaving for a trip and was told that it’s in fact 20 dollars. While I still like the haircuts and stylists, this has left something of a bad taste in my mouth. I may have to investigate other barbershops.

I had a general men’s haircut by Kassie, and it was top-notch! The salon itself is really nice. When you walk in, they are friendly and you have a choice of something to drink while you wait, if you want. You are taken to a comfortable waiting area, and then your barber comes to get you. The staff are excellent - Kassie did a great job, and the post-cut shampoo, hot face towel, and scalp massage are really relaxing. Overall the appointment took about 35 minutes. Highly recommend. I’ll be going back for my next cut.

This was my first time getting my hair cut at someplace this nice and let me tell you, it was worth it. Throughout the entire process you're treated like you're the most important person in the building. The beer selection was great. Plenty of craft beer selections. Brooke cut my hair and did a fantastic job explaining everything she was doing. Not to mention she had to decrypt my vague, poorly explained, lack of explanation on how I wanted my hair cut. They sell a bunch of products as well which they use throughout the cut but I never felt like I was being pushed into buying anything. I'd say it was worth the money and I'll definitely be back.

This IS the shop to get your haircut. I have used them for the past several years and have never walked away with a "bad haircut." Their barbers are "Master Barbers" and their work always proves their talents. Call in advance or book online as there is usually a wait if you have a favorite barber. If you do have to wait for your appointment, you can bask in the luxury of their timelessly classic "Man Cave" and watch TV or read while enjoying a drink of your choice. I highly recommend Frank's Gentlemen's Salon as it is refreshingly unique while consistently responsive and professional.

I used to refuse to pay more than $10 for a haircut. I also used to look uneven and disheveled in less than 2 weeks. Then a few years ago I gave in and came to Frank's. Now I can stop in for a complimentary touch-up a few weeks after my cut, guaranteeing that I won't need a haircut for up to 6 weeks--actually saving me money. They always have excellent service and hospitable staff. There is a comfortable lounge to sit and sip a complimentary beer or liquor in while you wait. High-quality haircuts are the main draw but you can also get a straight-razor shave, manicure, pedicure, massage, and more. I don't want to get my hair cut anywhere else now.

I just had my hair cut by Phillip after not having a hair cut for a year. I showed him a picture for reference, and be cut it perfectly. Don't be swayed by the price of the cut, because it's totally worth it. Hands down the best cut that I have had in probably 10 years. I will definitely be going back.

Best barber experience in town. You can get a great haircut while you enjoy an adult beverage. Staff is amazing! Ask for Phillip or Haley. I'm sure the entire staff is great. Karen greats you with a smile and treats you like part of the family. Walk-ins welcome and you can even get a touch up between cuts.

Very clean and friendly place. You are greeted and then taken to a small "man-cave" waiting area. Two complimentary drinks with your appointment; I went in the am, so coffee, but they have beers and whisky as well. Miranda was great, wonderful haircut and service. Haircut included: cut, wash/condition, final trim w/razor, style. Reasonable prices for what you are getting. I would highly recommend!

Was really impressed with the level of service provided. Most salons I have personally visited cater only to women with fancy coffees and drinks, but was pleasantly surprised to see that a place exists that pampers even the most stoic of men. On our first visit, we were met with a smile, a cold beverages and a nice comfortable seat in the "man cave" complete with flat screen TV, chess board and a plethora of books and man cave theme decor. As a women, I was even made comfortable. Already booked for our second visit this Saturday.

I highly recommend Frank's in Columbia SC. After experiencing Atlanta fine barbering for 20+ years coming to SC made it a challenge to find someone good - mission accomplished with Frank's. I have had two regular haircuts and one touch-up (free by the way) and they are truly wonderful experiences. Attractive female barbers that know what they are doing along with a great man-cave you use while waiting (along with two complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks) make it a pleasure.

I've never been to Franks, but I did see an advertisement for it on mediacaddy in Clearwater, FL. I am amazed at the media outreach 1000 miles away. I am planning a trek to Franks because of their superb social media profile. Kudos to thinking outside the box!
