Went in not feeling confident about my hair and Marc fixed that real quick. Great atmosphere for a barber shop. Witnessed a customer come in nearly an hour after his appointment and the barber was kind enough, and luckily available, to accommodate him. Great locally owned business.

Unbelievable experience. Kyle was professional, fun to talk to and gave an amazing haircut. For my first time in and first professional cut since the pandemic started I couldnt have chosen better, all safety guidelines were followed and walked out of there extremely happy with the result. Best barber shop I have ever been to. You feel like their #1 customer every time you go. I've lived in NYC, Chicago and now Philly and this beats any other barbershop I've sat down in. I know some people get particular about which barber cuts their hair. I sit in the first open chair because it doesn't matter who is cutting your hair in there, you're going to walk out with a great haircut. Not to mention the atmosphere...feels like an actual barbershop and not just some place you get a haircut. Great conversation and very friendly people. Go, you won't regret it.

Pros: The staff are funny and welcoming. They've been doing this a while and you can tell. It was affordable, which is good. Cons: The barber I got botched my part of my hair (I have a side fade with a topknot) and only shaved up the the part on one side. Not just that, but I'm gender no conforming and the customers gave me a lot of dirty looks. Thankfully, none from the staff. I probably won't come back here, but I don't think that my experience should be everyone's. If you're a dude looking for a simple, inexpensive haircut, this is a good place.

You go to any barbershop for two reasons: 1. Get your hair cut, a shave, or the beard trimmed up 2. The ambiance and conversation To have a good barber experience you need both of these and Sulimay's has it all. You leave there looking great and anxious for your next visit. Joe did a great wife-approved job on my beard and is a pleasure to talk to. Go on a Saturday and it will be busy but the wait is pleasant and not long. The clientele is varied young and old, so whomever you are you will fit in just fine at Sulimay's.

Can't go wrong, with either Joe, Mark or Kyle and on occasion Billy will be there cutting when he's not putting out fires. Great cut everytime along with good conversation, a nice comfortable old school barber shop that makes you feel like you've been going for years regardless of if it's your first time through the doors or not.

A great, comfortable barbershop where the barbers remember your name and finish each haircut with a straight razor for a clean neckline. I typically walk-in at a time when I'm not in a rush and can relax—although I've never spent more than an hour there. I've been going to Sulimay's for about a year and have no plans to try any other barber.

This is a great place to go for a cut and a piece of old fashion neighborhood community. I drive up from Atlantic city for their cuts and feel like an old friend. With regards to feeling welcomed, I am a gay married man with an 8 year old and we feel completely welcomed and part of the family. Awesome place.

Marc's gentle, soft hands will do something wonderful to your spirit. His work is top-notch and his way with words will leave you in a blissful, relaxed trance. This is my favorite and only barbershop I go to in the city. Get there early as it tends to get crowded towards the end of the day but be courteous and don't walk in 5 minutes before they close. There's whisky for the boys and a candy dish for the youngsters. Go. You'll be glad you did.

Joe is a staple of the Fishtown Community and his shop is the perfect extension of him. Friendly, courteous, upbeat and full of life, Joe has been Fishtown’s Barber for so many years and to many of us he’s been much more. He’s our friend. Even if you walk into his shop for the first time, you feel that friendship, and it continues to stay with you long after you leave and go about your day. Imagine having that kind of experience from a guy you only see once a month at best and every time you walk into that shop it’s like you’ve been there everyday in between. The conversation picks back up like it never ended. Sure it’s a great shop, a great neighborhood and a great product. But for me, and many other Fishtown residents, it’s more about Joe Sulimay and the amazing friend he is to all of us.

The best haircut experience I've had ever! I went to this place after reading all the reviews. Very laid back family run place with the most friendliest people! Joe Sulimay was my barber for the day. He striked up a conversation and he made me feel so at ease. Also his job, very, very professional. On learning that I'm an IT engineer, he asked me for a help with his Apple account if I didn't mind. I helped him with that in between the haircut. I sat there with my hair half cut, his iPhone on one hand and his MacBook on my lap. It was quite a scene! I helped him sort his issue and then we continued to finish my haircut, the reason I was there. I ended up with the best haircut I've had in years and once it was done, Mr.Sulimay wouldn't take any money from me! It was a really kind gesture from his part.
