We couldn’t have had a better first haircut experience for our little dudes! Cole and Simone are some the most welcoming and patient people around and on top of that they are clearly highly skilled barbers that provide a top notch service. We are so thankful we found this business while up visiting from Seward and will happily make the drive up for haircuts. We look forward to seeing them in the future and giving them our continued business.

First and foremost, the setup and atmosphere of the shop are incredible. Cole is charismatic and engaging. I could tell he wanted to give his customers the best experience he could, I was impressed. As I sat in the chair with Gabriel, the whole shop was engaged in conversation: joking, razzing, and conversing, mostly about upcoming football games. I loved it. I wasn’t 100% satisfied with my haircut, which is why I gave 4 stars. There was a misunderstanding on what I wanted done with my cut. I’m picky and have been spoiled by having the same barber for 10 years previously. I’ll take some blame, I should’ve brought a picture in for example instead of just explaining what I wanted and hoping for the best. It’s obvious Gabriel is skilled with clippers and a straight blade, we just weren’t on the same page as far what I wanted and what he was going to do. It’s a nice cut, just not exactly what I wanted. With all that being said, I’d still recommend them and will be back for another cut in the future.

I was very nervous about trying something new with my hair because I've never done it before but, Cole made sure I was comfortable and explained what he was doing throughout the hair cut. Needed to find a new barber shop in town. Settled on trying the man spa. Old school barber shop feel in a modern shop. Great conversation. From checking in and the receptionist taking my coat and offering beverages to the excellent cut and beard trim I highly reccomend this shop to any gentlemen in town looming for a classy spot and great service.

I went to Manspa awhile back and haven't been to any other place in town. The owner and Gabrielle both cut hair amazing! It truly is a welcoming business and they listen to what your needs are when they cut your hair! I highly recommend going here at least once in your lifetime!

First of all, my heroes. Secondly love the more community or pub like environment. This isn't rhe assembly line where you read old mags while you wait. Cole wants to know your name and get it right so you feel you belong and had been here all along. Simone is more than happy to take the time to explain why things were done and how particular product will help. Notice i didn't say extra time, the environment is all about that right service. You're right where you're supposed to be. Obviously they're both socially skilled and can keep a conversation running or let you sit while they let the snips do the talking. If you haven't been here, you probably need to do it. If you have been here, you know why they come up any time someone talks about getting hairs cut. Having asked about getting hairs cut, this was the first place mentioned, and from the sounds of it was leagues ahead anywhere else in town. Google agrees.

To get a haircut on time, you need to have a reservation. I attempted a walk in for my son. I was originally told it probably won’t be for a few hours since they are pretty booked. But I told them only my son needed a haircut. They said they can squeeze him in since it’s just a kids haircut. My son has never had a better haircut. He loves it and he bragged that his friends are going to be jealous of his haircut. We’ll comeback here again soon.

I got a very nice haircut at Man Spa several months back. Cole was my barber and he’s a master of his craft. He’s friendly, personable, attentive, charismatic, and speaks with substance. He’s a man who cares about his brand and it shows. Man Spa reminds me of barbershops at country clubs where barbers are gentlemanly insofar as being notably well-spoken, impressively courteous, and making you look and feel like a million bucks. Prices for haircuts at Man Spa are very reasonable, which I find surprising, considering the outstanding value. I paid around $40 for what easily looked and felt like an $80 or $100 haircut. Definitely one of the nicest cuts I’ve ever had if not the nicest. If you appreciate an exceptional barber who does masterful work, I recommend you visit Man Spa. I don’t write many online reviews, but Man Spa is a 5-star establishment; since such places are virtually nonexistent in this town, I think writing this review is more of a responsibility than a kind gesture. I’m absolutely going back. Anyway, give Man Spa a try. Friendly environment and swanky vibe. You’ll thank me later. Au revoir!

I had my own reservations as change is always difficult. The last place I received my haircut, clearly butchered my hair and I had been going there numerous times. Not only could I feel it, but you could see it. Just like everyone else, I thoroughly read the reviews and their website. Do your research and your own due diligence. Clearly everything is laid out as far as what services are being offered and the price, which not all places provide on their website. The process of scheduling appears easy; however, I did run into a glitch with their online booking service. I ended up calling the next business day to confirm and secure my appointment. I was able to schedule that morning. The place of business is CLEAN and BRIGHT, which I feel allows the barber/stylist to visually see your hair. The other places I’ve been too have been dark and gloomy, which resulted in a lighter fade on one side and darker on the other. I went in for a fade and eye brow sculpting. I’ve never cut or trimmed my eye brows until that appointment. The people there are professional and understand the clients wants/needs. I provided Cole with a screen shot of what I was looking for in a haircut and the rest is history! I am happy with my haircut and the service Cole provided. I have already scheduled my follow up, so you know I am going back. Like I had mentioned, you get what you pay for. I feel my haircut and eye brow sculpting was worth the price I paid. I would HIGHLY recommend Man Spa to anyone who wants a great haircut. Yes, we all have options and remember, you get what you pay for. Thank you Cole for my haircut.

Brian M is way off base. Man Spa is nothing but professional at all times. I come here to get my hair cut and Cole and Simone are completely professional, and thorough in their cuts. If you ask for a beard trim, they will give you a beard trim. I have never had an issue with their haircuts. In fact I have received haircuts at other places around town, and Man Spa is the one that I now call home. I enjoy the atmosphere and the superb job they do. I would recommend them to everyone.

I scheduled an appointment and put myself on the wait list and I woke up this morning with a confirmation email for an appointment today at 1. So I get there at 1 and only to find out that they were suppose to be closed today doing family business and there was just a glitch in there automated system. Instead of turning me away they gave me my haircut anyways, if that’s not putting your customers first and caring about your customers, then I don’t know what is. Not to mention the haircuts either Cole or Simone give are fire. I would highly recommend getting your haircut there, it is a very welcoming homey feeling business, and the conversations are endless.

NOT your standard Alaskan barber shop that over charges and under serves. The pride in ownership is pretty obvious with this place. Cole is an awesome barber and has built a great retreat. Ive got some pretty high standards when it comes to paying for a haircut and Cole has always delivered. Besides the haircut, beard trim and straight shave they were able to fit me in for a massage! Take a long lunch break and go relax at the Man Spa, you (and whoever has to look at you) won’t be disappointed! (Yes, I’m a paying customer)

First, I have not been to a barber in over 20 years. When you are bald, there really is no point. :-). I have been watching these youtube videos of guys getting haircuts and shaves before going bed to help relax. So I got my first hot towel shave. I found the man spa on google. Great service and professional. Cole did the shave. He is a genuinely good man, husband and father. I was first person of the day and enjoyed seeing his interaction with his family. It's the kind of place I want to do business with. The shave was great! Honestly, it wasn't until after I drove off and realized how good my face felt. It felt clean and I told my wife how good my skin felt. I don't think I have ever had my skin feel good. That's a first. I am not into, for lack of a better word, luxury things. In my 52 years of life I have had one body massage and one foot massage. I didn't think much of it. The hot towel shave - this was great! I'd really like to do this again and will look at making this a tradition when I take time off work. 5 stars folks.

Went here for my post-COVID haircut; Cole did a fantastic job, could not be happier with his expertise, and his persistence in fighting through my overgrown mop of hair was nothing short of admirable. His detailing of my beard was also expertly done; I generally do not trust my beard to barbers, but I will absolutely be scheduling my next appointment here to get the works once again.

I’ve been to see Man Spa twice so far and both times I’ve walked out extremely satisfied. Cole, the owner, is very friendly and welcoming. When you first walk in, he kindly greets you and offers water or coffee to enjoy while you wait, then strikes up a conversation. The pool table is a nice touch as well to keep your wait interesting. Cole does a very good job paying attention to detail when cutting/styling. My first time in there, I described a general idea of the look I was going for and told him to use his best judgement. He knocked it out of the park and I will be going back from here on out. I highly recommend Man Spa to any gentleman that is looking for a clean professional cut and barbershop experience.

My regular stylist was on vacation so I found Man Spa on Google and Yelp. I'm glad I did. They have a clean, stylish space on Northern Lights. ESPN on TV (no Fox News thank goodness). This is family operated business, that works extremely hard to earn their 5 star customer rating. Personally I have the type hair that is very difficult to cut. I also want a more retro look from the 80's which is not a contemporary request from modern barbers and stylists.I have been searching for a new barber since my last one changed careers two years ago. Simone cut my hair and arguably gave me the best haircut of my life. I will return and I completely support this business, if you have stick straight super thick hair and want to look like a professional this is the place.

Went by this fine establishment today after booking an appointment using the website. Very read to navigate they the website, very friendly staff, very good barber. I had a shave and cleanup on my head and really enjoyed my experience. Some solid oldies were playing in the background and great smells filled the sit as I kicked back and got my cut. Will be going back for sure. Update: 4/30/2018 I've been back twice since my last review and I'm happy as the first time I went. The music is great, the vibe is really chill and the place smells great. I love the quality of the hair products used and the consistency of the good cuts. I'll be back again for sure.

I’ve always been the great clips or discount haircut type of guy. I went to Cole at Man Spa at recommendation from some friends. I was blown away. His friendliness, the qualify of the hair cut, plus he threw in a hot towel shave for me, because he thought it fit my hearty Alaska beard. He didn’t even charge me for the hot towel beard work. He’s a consummate professional, and as long as he’s in business, he will be cutting my hair. I’ve been back a couple of times now, and every time is the same level of service. You can’t ask for more. You’re stupid if you don’t go see Cole.

Super upset I’m just now finding this place as I’m about to leave AK. I’ve been going to various other shops during my time in AK and Man Spa hands down beats all of them in every way possible. Cleanliness, check. Hospitality, check. Great haircuts, CHECK! I tend to be uncomfortable in a barber shop due to lack of customer service (super loud music to extent speakers all distorted, barbers taking “smoke breaks” or texting, making phone calls mid cut, telling people to wait cause they have an appointment in 45 minutes and just general customer disrespect) Man Spa? Nope! Was welcomed as I walked in, treated like a person who’s been coming there for years, and I didn’t sit in chair for 2 hours. Ohh, and to mention.... BEST cut I’ve ever gotten! I didn’t realize until I got back home and looked at it, thank you Simone! Man Spa is awesome and I will definitely be going there again prior to leaving AK next month and I can wait.

I found this place after ak fades screwed up my hair horribly. Cole is the man he saved it and earned me as a customer for life. He knows how to take care of his clients and has a family friendly environment. Normally I cuss like a sailor but in his shop I keep it clean. After being on this earth for 33 years, this is the first time I’ve even had anyone comment on how good my hair looked. At least twice a week I have someone ask me where I get my hair done.
