Highly recommend! If you qualify to be a member of this credit union, you should definitely check it out. Compared to my friends who have accounts at other banks, I feel like with UHFCU I have access to much better services.

I've been with UHFCU for over 20 years. I find that they tend to have the best rates in town. Their savings/cd rates are usually better than other places, and their low minimums make it easy to start earning interest for those getting started with small funds. The McCully branch also has a free self-serve coin counter machine that deposits directly to your account. Just bring in your jar of coins. No need to sort, count, or roll coins anymore. The machine does it all. Service no matter where you go is generally quick & the staff is friendly & helpful. The McCully branch is nice, bright, clean, & cool with ample free parking in the ground floor garage. If you don't want to go inside, there's an atm with dropbox next to the front entrance facing King St. It's visible from the street, so it feels fairly safe. The Manoa Marketplace branch is located between Subway & Brug Bakery in the shopping center with plenty of free parking. The UH Manoa branch is a service window outside the cafeteria in the Campus Center building 2nd floor. Their focus is the UH community so that's where their branches are centered. If you can't or don't want to go in person, you can also mail your items to deposit, call in, or use their website or mobile app to manage/deposit items to some extent. For convenience, you can also use the fcu shared branch network to access your account from a credit union near you. Overall, UHFCU has great service, rates, & various convenient access methods.

I joined UHFCU at least 20 years ago (sometime early 1990s) and I think it is the best bank I ever known. Staff is very welcoming, friendly, and eager to provide information when needed. All my accounts, even my checking, gives dividends at the end of each month, and they’re all free of charges. I do all my banking online now; with UHFCU providing echecks free of service. However, in the event I get a hard-copy check I need to deposit, I can use their very convenient mobile deposit on my phone. They also have an agreement to use First Hawaiian Bank ATMs free of charge, that are all over the islands (there is another bank too but this one is plenty for me). I can get cashier checks made out free and can use their notary public services also free of charge. I’m very happy with the bank; wouldn’t bank with anybody else!

Always get great service from the staff. The few times that I’ve had to call the customer service line, the support staff have been courteous and knowledgeable and were always able to resolve my problem.

This credit union has not disappointed me one bit. The service is impeccable and the staff is friendly. RJ has helped me with so many things. From assisting me with trying to make things better with another bank to understanding the little details with my accounts. He always remembers me and makes a point to ask how I am doing through all that is going on with this pandemic. He is not the only one that remembers me. After coming in 2 or 3 times the tellers start remembering who I am and I don't even come in everyday or every week. I would recommend this credit union to anyone.

I had a really nice experience while opening my credit card account at UHFCU. Jacyee was really nice and thorough while answering my questions about the credit card. She even called me back after a few weeks to ask if everything was okay and to remind me to pay my balance. It feels like UHFCU really care about their customers.

I’ve used the McCully, UH Manoa, and Manoa Marketplace branches. Personally, I had great experiences every time I went to a branch. The employees were friendly and quickly helped me with whatever I needed. I usually go at less busy hours, so I would be in and out within a few minutes.

I’ve been a member for 40 years. In that time besides having checking, savings, special savings, Christmas club, CDs, home equity line of credit two different times, School loans, car loan, computer loan, and money market account. Recently I had the pleasure of setting up a checking and savings account with my neice an older teenager. And then when she turned 18 they were very helpful turning the account totally over to her so that now she has her own account Good rates good fun wonderful people I like being able to deposit my checks from home. I haven’t had to go into the bank other than to set up an account and to sign papers for the home equity line of credit.

I've been withUHFCU when I first started as a student in the 90's and still with them. Before mobile service, one of the representatives would come on campus and assist with a smile. I loved the calendars which was available around October for each upcoming year but lots of things have change but never the friendliness or great customer service.

I've been with UHFCU for over 3 years now and I've yet to have a negative experience. I love that I can make withdraws at any First Hawaiian Bank ATM (there's one in every 7-11) without incurring any fees. Their staff members are both friendly and professional. Before becoming a member at UHFCU I had an account with Bank of America, and I couldn't be happier with the switch. Big For-Profit banks will never be able to compete with Credit Unions when it comes to reinvesting in its members and offering the lowest interest rates. I plan on staying with UHFCU for many years to come.

Best bank ever (I used to use major mainland bank). UHFCU has all the online services you need and great in-person service. Loan officers are very helpful and quick to respond.

Walked in and was helped immediately to set up a checking and savings account. Within 15 minutes was finished and given a debit card as well on the spot. Conveniently this location has a coin counting machine to make saving money so much easier for everyone in the entire family.
