Reviews of La Renaissance Patisserie Francaise
Mr V
I lived in big cities around the world for a long time, and after moving to the 'burbs I was pleasantly surprised to find that La Renaissance Patisserie was the French bakery that I wished for all along. Excellent croissants, baguettes, etc. Is every item the perfect? Of course not. But I love their commitment to going for great. They have very high standards. And the staff is usually very nice.
Realistically, though, this is Scarsdale, and there are some reviewers who just want to hate, so I'd take some of the nasty-gram negative reviews with a grain of salt. More than once, I've seen a high-maintenance customer badger the staff, and never be satisfied regardless of how much the staff tries to accommodate.
For me, I'm thankful for having such a great bakery in the place where I live.

Honestly one of the best Bakery’s I’ve ever experienced, they were even open on a MONDAY lol. My favorite part is anything chocolate, it’s incredible rich, not too sweet and soft! Also enjoyed the almond toasted croissants! Chefs Kiss ! Enjoy :)

Very good baguette, but they’re never ready in the morning! They are always “in the oven”, even well after they’ve opened! The place should be bursting with baguettes when the doors open. This would never fly in Paris.

Best croissant in town. the owner is serious but she cares about the products she sells. We buy every weekend and it never disappointed.

Went there for the first time yesterday. I don’t know what people are talking about when they say that the staff is rude and short with customers. The woman behind the counter was extremely nice in helping me. On top of that, the pastries were absolutely fantastic! I will definitely be back!

Beautiful woman behind the counter is always welcoming when I enter and she always smiles and speaks. She knows I love her palmiers and crème brûlée.
As you’re waiting, you can sit and have a cup of delicious aroma filled coffee and she smiles and converses with you. If you’ve never visited, you don’t know what a real palmier is. I’d travel 200 miles just stop and pick of 5 of her palmiers.

Renaissance offers an alternative to the heavily iced and sometimes overly sweet baked goods in the area. They offer classic desserts in their traditional form. Relying more on unique flavor combinations than icing. Highly recommend.
Their signature cake, with its rich creme and almond crust, is an absolute must try.

I rediscovered this delicious bakery recently and now I am addicted! It's the only place I can find a brioche that tastes the way they are supposed to. They also make great croissants and gorgeous cakes, pies, and yummy quiches. Yesterday, we tried a chocolate cake for a chocolate lover's birthday - it was fabulous: light, beautiful, delicious,... a huge success! The cookies look really good as well, but I haven't tried those yet. This bakery is the best around, if searching for a taste of France- wether it be a little snack or a lovely cake, this is the place to go.

I recently bought a variety of delicious pastries and cookies. This is without a doubt the BEST bakery in Westchester county. The place is dangerously fattening and worth every calorie. Service is good and the desserts are fresh. I did not like the lukewarm decaf coffee, but it was late in the day for that.

Exquisite. Experience nothing but the best in baking and pastry right here in the Scarsdale village. This is likely the finest bakery in Westchester, if not the state. They've been around for many years and have a steady stream of customers. The kids love it. The cookies, the cupcakes, the pastries, the cakes, roles, the birthday cakes, the wedding cakes, the any occasion cakes are all done here in an exquisite manner. You pay a premium, but well worth it. Time to experience the best in sweets, so visit La Renaissance soon. There is nothing like it, anywhere! Superb!!

Ok, so when you want French pastry, this is the best there is!
I bought a creme boule torte for my fiancé's birthday and she LOVED it.
We have been going here for DECADES and it always is terrific. Mouth watering and delicious treats and cakes!

Love their butter cookies an the ones with almonds, and apple turnovers. The apple cinnamon muffins there are the best muffins I've ever had. They have a wonderful, crispy shell and a soft center. A little pricey, but the best bakery in town.

La Renaissance Patisserie has wonderful desserts and delicious cakes that can make any celebration a truly memorable event. They also bake wonderful raisin and plain challahs on Fridays. They are famous for their fruit tarts which are truly exquisite.

I love their macaroons. They remind me of real French macaroons made of almond paste and egg whites... as opposed to the American macaroons made of coconuts and chocolate that look nothing like the French macaroons. Of course, I enjoy both kinds. But where else can I get French macaroons... especially when I don't have the type of oven to make them? There are few places indeed. Of course, I enjoy most other things here, too.

Croissants are delicious and their “Renaissance “ cake is just mind blowing (its crunchiness makes it hard to cut unless frozen!)

The signature "La Renaissance" cake -- in fact, a dacquoise -- is sublime. Haven't tried the other items, but everything about this small, not inexpensive, but very fine bakery screams "authentic French bakery."

Great shop. My favorite raspberry and chocolate ganache are delicious. The cookies and rugelach are a treat.
