I shopping from this bakery many- many years ago .They have the best rye bread with and without seeds. Always fresh! I love the lady who so friendly with everyone, all the time! Cheese danish also fabulous, and all other pastries, cakes ,rolls, and bagels! It’s a Jewish bakery they made fresh baked challah.Very pricey but still my favorite bakery in Riverdale!

Gruenebaum’s Bakery in Riverdale has the best Glatt Kosher desserts and exceptional Challah’s. I love stopping there at 7am in route to work on Friday mornings when they are already open for business. They have the best Kichel and other delicious Jewish specialties that can bring tears of joy to your eyes when you get to experience their fresh baked items.

Delicious Kosher bakery and kitchen. Great verity of cakes, good coffee and cookies. Good place to eat fast and healthy. Salads, wraps and good food also are available. The owner is so nice and kind. Safe neighborhood, polite staff located in a shopping center, next to the kosher market. Strongly recommend.

They used to make a good loaf of both seeded and seedless Jewish rye bread. Then, a couple of years ago, they must have changed the recipe. It neither looked nor tasted the same. In fact, if I closed my eyes and took a bite, I doubt I could identify it as rye bread. What a shame. Good rye bread has gone the way of the Kaiser roll.

However, their phone has been down for over a month. That can’t be good for business and it’s very frustrating for loyal customers like me who drive in from Manhattan. I would like to know if they have the baked goods I desire before I drive to Riverdale. Please fix your phone ASAP!

a little pricey but it is a kosher bakery so that is to be expected. I loved the fresh chocolate sticks which are almost a flaky croissant with the chocolate 'filling' they use in the babka. A favorite of my friends are the apple turnovers and the almond horseshoe.

I literally have not had a linser tart since 1991...I picked up a couple of bagels, baileys, black and white, and one raspberry filled, sugar covered linser tart...the O.M.G. moment!...lovely woman waited on me, asked if I wanted Apricot or....Of Course Raspberry....lol...place is wonderful...old school awesome!

Very good bakery in riverdale but i do wish they used real buttercream. Its all parve. Some items are Good though and they do have a cafe in back with good coffee as well. The challah is goid but not as flavorful as the synagogues get.
