Reviews of Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats
Such a variety of vegan desserts. Loved their donuts (although not better than Dottie's donuts in Philadelphia). Texture's great, maybe a bit better flavoring. Tasted great, but the strawberry and cream didn't taste like strawberry. I also tried the triple chocolate, maybe it could use a glaze, but I'm really not complaining.
Next time I'll try the vanilla glaze and any other new flavors they might have.
I LOVED their fudge brownie! Not too fudge-y, not too cake-y.
Perfect chocolate chip cookies!
Excellent cinnamon buns too.
We also bought their cookie mix we'll bake at home.
I will definitely go back when I'm in D.C.
Only in a city like DC would a place like this ever get less than 5 stars. Some of us don’t get any vegan options at all!
Ordered a bakery shipment from out of state. Super tasty, not crazy expensive and arrived in time for New Year’s Eve. I’ve been ordering from all over the country and this is 1 of only 2 places so far that I’ll order from again. Highly recommend.
Omg!!!! I ordered a vegan gluten-free chocolate cake with vanilla frosting for my birthday and it was AMAZING! I didn't tell my friends what kind of cake it was until after they complimented it. I even bought ice cream to go with it just incase it was dry and we didnt need it! Thank you for my awesome cake and friendly service! Until next time!
I have lived in Columbia heights now for over 10 years and have always seen sticky fingers bakery but have never actually been there. But now since I am a vegan, let me tell you this is the perfect place. The cupcakes are to die for, and so is the rueban with sweet potato fries. My favorite is the sticky buns on my way to college.
Was super excited to visited Sticky Fingers. I fondly recall watching the owner on Cup Cake Wars and pulled for her because of her vegan values. After a year of living in DC, I took my family to the store. My wife was given a piece of the double chocolate cake, and we had to experience the shop for ourselves. Expectations were high for Sticky! When we walked in I initially thought that the neo look was interesting...but after looking around the store it seemed to be randomness that I found difficult to connect with. When I order, the employee seemed to be rushed and somewhat annoyed. The store was not very clean. The products that I bought were tasty, but the entire experience left me wondering...is this the true Sticky Finger experience...? I hope not. I will be giving Sticky another try, but sometime you only get one chance to make a first impression.
I love this place! I come like every year for my birthday because it's vegan dessert heaven 😍 I just wish they still had brunch all the time. Their french toast is my favorite. Donut days are the best - you have to try the tiramisu …
I just love Sticky Fingers Bakery. Their pastries are the best and the staff are always so kind and professional. Shout-out to Precious!
Customer service was absolutely great. I was purchasing some treats for my vegan roommates birthday and they gave great recommendations and he loved it. Definitely will be coming back.
I had the most amazing lunch today. I ordered the vegan chili burger on a bed of spinach with the dill potato salad. For dessert, I had a peanut butter fudge cupcake. My taste buds were dancing from the first bite to the last. The take out service was nice. It's been years since I've been here, but I'll definitely be back. Sorry about the pic, I'd already dug in. 😶
Amazing gem! Award winning cupcakes, delicious coffee options, and somehow even better lunch wraps. The buffalo seitan wrap is a very generous portion and delicious. Try the potato salad as your side!
It was a treat in itself omg I had the matcha tea and an apple cupcake it was Heavenly and everything is vegan which is a plus for me
Gluey pancakes, tough potatoes, and strange flavor to tofu scramble. Service is good, coffee is great, and bakery items are top notch. Just be wary of brunch items, and lack of table space if you plan on eating there.
Fresh Farm farmer's market at the Columbia Heights Civic Plaza
The sweets and treats are worth the trip. I even grabbed a copy of the cookbook so I can learn some of their tricks! A great place to indulge.
This place is legendary for a good reason!
Truly everything is done right since the days Doron was in a small basement and continues now with many sweets and a good selection of savory items too. This is vegan heaven!
Love, love love! I’m severely allergic to milk. So this is really my only option if I want dairy free cupcakes from a bakery. The carrot cake cupcakes, coconut, and red velvet cupcakes are AMAZING!!!!! I know red velvet are around all year. I wish the other two were as well. I’ve been in heaven since picking up my order.
Ermahgerd! The baked goods were so delicious! We will definitely be back for more doughnuts and sticky buns. The brunch food was kinda meh, they may still be new with it though
One of the best bakeries in DC. I could not tell that everything was vegan because it was so delicious!
I've tried various bakeries and sweet shops around DC since I moved here about a year and a half ago. For sweets, this one has impressed me the most. I never buy cookies from a bakery, because it's pretty hard to impress me with a cookie, but I just love the cookies from this place (s'mores cookie is my favorite!). The cupcakes are super tasty, too. I found the vanilla cake a little lackluster, but the red velvet and chocolate were some of the best I've had in a long time. When I want sweets, this place has become my go-to.
We got a custom cake for my son's first birthday. He has an egg allergy. He loved the cake and so did we! Thank you Sticky Fingers!
If it were on food alone this review would be 5 stars. As a vegan in DC I greatly appreciate that this place has excellent baked goods. However, it is now July 2021 and they still are requiring people to order and pay through the online app and there is no in-store payment option. I understand that the pandemic may have been a difficult time but not allowing people to simply walk up and pay (even in cash) is somewhat of a bad business move and they are probably losing business. Because I want to see this place thrive and last, please try to address this! Anyway great cupcakes and happy to increase my rating once this payment issue is addressed.
So glad I walked the hour from where I was staying to stop at Sticky Fingers. I mean, what else is someone supposed to do when you find out there is a place to get vegan challah french toast? Not only was the French toast out of this world, but the savory sides of potatoes and tofu scrambled were also fantastic. I also got a slice of the crumb cake which was the perfect combination of moist and dense. So glad they do national shipping so I'll be able to get my hands on some of their goodies while I'm at home! While I wish I would have been able to walk in and get the experience of picking something from the pastry case, I'm glad that they're still taking the pandemic and the safety of their employees seriously. I will absolutely be back and cannot recommend Sticky Fingers enough!
I got a soy vanilla milkshake. I would give the taste of the shake 3.89 stars. The shake was small as hell and I paid over $6 for it so I’ll give the price a 2.5.
I had a chocolate chip cookie from MOMs organic market right before visiting DC and was so excited to be able to order directly from the store. Online ordering and payment was easy and it was nice to have window pickup. The challah bread and the cupcakes are amazing! The dogs loved their treats too!
We just got an oreo birthday cake for my partner there, and it was AMAZING. Tasted better than any non-vegan cake I've ever had. Their online order and in-store pick-up window were super easy and convenient, too!
All the treats were very good and of course 100% vegan. We got a few cupcakes, cookies, and a shake. They are also dog friendly and the service is definitely quick and nice. However, I feel as though the pricing is a bit ridiculous for the shakes. They are around 7-8 dollars per shake so I was expecting something of decent size, but instead I got a very small (~12oz) shake. It was great and all but I think they need to readjust the portions or the prices. I understand vegan ingredients are often more expensive, but still I don't think the difference is that huge.
The buffalo wrap was so delicious and satisfying. Even a non-vegan myself enjoyed. Also ordered the pistachio rose cookies(which I like because of the tamed sweetness) and Challah french toast.(soft and fluffy)
Processing the order was quick.
You wouldn't automatically know this was was so vegetarian and vegan friendly because of the wide variety of food available. I tried the biscuits and gravy and was thoroughly impressed with both the flavor and texture of both items. It also came with a tofu scramble that was very good. I also got to try their french toast and it was AMAZING, definitely some of the best french toast I've ever had. The place has donuts too which looked.great but I didn't get to try.
The food and drinks (mainly shakes and coffee menu) are delicious, and my entire family enjoyed it (non-vegan)! Baked goods have many wheat free, soy free, and nut free options on top of being 100% vegan. The eating area is small, but colorful and cute. I highly recommend this place! It's on my to-visit list whenever I come to DC :)
Best red velvet and strawberry cheesecake cupcakes ever! (And I’m not vegan) My bf and I come every week. So addicting, and friendly/great service. The cupcakes don’t make you feel gross after you eat them, like normal
Cupcakes usually do which is a plus
Good option for vegan baked goods. My favorite there is a cinnamon roll, but when they were at the old location they made me a batch of spelt scone special order, and they were good.
They have the impossible burger. Need I say more? Yes actually I need to, because their chili and vegan mac and cheese are on point!
Wow wow wow! We love this bakery. Based off the 2 cakes we've purchased we are convinced something magical and/or illegal is in this vegan product! Amazing flavor! The prices are definitely higher than standard bakeries, but you will understand why when you take the first bite. I personally recommend the coconut cake. We're looking forward to trying other flavors in the future.
The staff is kind and always happy to see you. I would say tell your friends, but there's already a 48 hour wait for cakes, so don't tell ANYONE. Shhh...
I just recently visited this divine bakery and couldn't get enough of their amazing treats. The seating has a retro-vibe to it, and the staff were friendly to a new-comer like me. The area the shop was located in is very nice and up-scale, and the place is clean and pretty spacious for still technically being inside the city.
Everything in the shop is completely vegan, so I decided to go all-out and get four different-flavored cupcakes, the ones that I ordered were: one Vanilla, two of the Lavender-Lemon, one Chocolate, one Red Velvet, and one Peanut Butter Chocolate. And man oh man, was I glad that I bought six cupcakes! All of the pastries tasted phenomenal, but my two favorites were the Lavender-Lemon and the Chocolate.
Even if this bakery is on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., the prices are are a steal for the quality of desserts that you get. I'll definitely be coming here again very soon! ~Nicky
This place is amazing! We go there all the time and adore their baked goods! The brunch is fine, definitely better at their sister diner Fare Well. This place is first and foremost a bakery. I highly recommend: the donuts, the crumb cake, the cinnamon rolls, and the cookies. Their cupcakes are their specialty, so obviously those are delicious. Personally, not a huge fan of the whoopie pies. Even the savory food in the to-go fridge like the buffalo seitan wraps are delicious! What a gem to have in the neighborhood!!
Ordered three Perfect Little Gifts for Valentine's Day for my three adult children. They arrived soon after I placed the order and I was told they were delicious. For example, eating one cookie was not enough! Would recommend.
This is my FAVORITE vegan bakery in the DC area hands down. ALWAYS delicious and now serves lunch and breakfast. Yum yum yummy! Affordable, to go orders, bake at home. And now you can order online for pickup. Parking is the trickiest part, good luck with that.
Everything is so delicious. Bought $30 worth of sweets, comforted myself that I would pace myself and have it through the weekend. It was all gone within 36 hours. The peppermint flavors are the perfect holiday treat! Can't wait to go back 😋 …
This place has been recommended to us many times and tonight we finally got there for the first time. The place is small but has a nice menu with several great sounding options. The chili, carrot coconut soup, buffalo seitan and tacos were all VERY good. Excellent flavor and good portion sizes. We brought home several terrific looking desserts but wanted to get this review done before I forgot.
When I became vegan I did not realize how much vegan food and desserts could taste like the old things I used to eat. The cupcakes are out of this world, especially the s'mores cupcake, they taste like really good nonvegan cupcakes (disclaimer: I am used to some of the vegan flavors so I do have bias). The chocolate chip cookie assured me that being vegan can be easy, when the food (dessert) is prepared and actually tastes good, that is. Their desserts were much better than other vegan desserts I tried (they are gourmet cupcakes, so the quality should be better).
P.S. I got these desserts for my birthday and I'll be back hopefully earlier than next year.
Some of the absolute best cupcakes and doughnuts in the city, whether you’re vegan or not. Even though I live in the neighborhood, I avoided this place for a long time, for the simple fact that I’m not vegan. But one day, I had a craving for a bakery cupcake (as opposed to grocery store), so I ordered a couple from this spot. Since then, I’ve often ordered them once a week for several weeks in a row. I find myself craving them. Recently, I managed to order some doughnuts on one of the days they have them. And, as a doughnut fiend, I can say these are some of the best in the city. My stomach loves that I finally gave this bakery a chance (my wallet not so much haha).
Really love this place. Food is fresh and full of flavor. Menu is small, but they have enough options. Options are limited on Uber eats, but in-store experience has so much for you to browse. Tons of vegan snacks like cheez its/candy bars/chips/etc, baked sweets, and made to order dishes. I like how this is bakery style so you can pick out which pastries you want. They even have vegan dog biscuits. The seating is nice and has a vintage diner feel. They don’t use plastic utensils in store which is great and eco-friendly. I will be coming back here!
My family and I drove about an hour and a half to visit Sticky Fingers this past weekend. Everything was good, but the vegan challah bread was the best we’ve ever had. 10/10 would drive again and 10/10 would recommend.
Favorite brunch spot that works well for myself (vegan) and my friends (mostly non-vegan). I usually don't enjoy tofu scrambles, but the one here is amazing and comes as a side with a lot of the dishes. Also highly recommend the loaded sweet potato fries and the french toast. The food is vegan, but by no means healthy. The cupcakes taste great, but leafing through the cookbook I was alarmed to see how much sugar is in them. Fine for a treat every once in a while, but no more then that. Also always get a side of mac and cheese. ALWAYS!
4 stars = 5 stars for taste + 3 stars for healthiness
Good vegan food for even those that are not vegan! Meals and desserts are great. Had the tuna melt and it was delicious. The VLC was a little too crumbly and nutty for my taste though. Overall very good
If you haven't been here you are missing out. This place does vegan desserts like no one else. Even if you aren't vegan this place will rock your world. If you are lucky go on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday to get their amazing donuts. What I love is the food is always consistently good. Also try Doran's other vegan spot called farewell another winner.
One of the best bakeries in the city and THE best vegan bakery in the general area. If you're a vegan I strongly suggest you have brunch here at least once. The pancakes are good, the tofu scramble leaves a little to be desired. The desserts are always on point.
The espresso is terrible though. No effort goes into making the cup, save your money and get it elsewhere (Filter House on 20th NW if you really like your coffee)
Tips: For better vegan biscuits and gravy head over to The Potters House in Adams Morgan.
I am not a vegan nor a vegetarian, but a local recommend this place for their grilled "cheese" sandwich. Probably the best I've had so far, not only does it taste like cheese, it's also filling. Normally I'm still hungry after eating "rabbit" food. Also their eggnog cupcake is delicious....this place will make you think twice about any vegan stereotypes
If you're in DC, you have to stop here. Normally I don't like extra sweet stuff, but my goodness is this place delectable. Back in pre vegan days I only got stuff like creme brulee and 7 layered weird sounding french pastries. I never looked twice at a cupcake or cookie. This place has shown me the potential of cupcakes and classic American sweets which no non-vegan pastry ever did.
Though the prices set me back when I walk in, I realize that's surprisingly around average for a high-quality bakery. Expect to find tons of appealing (all-vegan here, folks) cupcake options, their well-known sticky buns, and a ton of breakfast/brunch/lunch-appropriate fare (though they are open until the evening hours). Hot and "grab-and-go" choices are available for just about all palates. A recent and welcome addition has been the admittedly overpriced boozy milkshakes, but I'm in no position to complain because they're literally the only place in DC to get a nondairy milkshake served with liquor in it, so I'll take the hit.
Love this place!! It’s really cozy, welcoming, and EVERYTHING is vegan...like, everything. It’s awesome. The have sweet treats, snacks, sandwiches, soups, and good music lol. I can’t wait to go back and the price is fair. Usually vegan/whole food places seem expensive but this place wasn’t.
The vegan cupcakes are good and in my mind, what they do well. Although the cupcakes are on the pricey side. $3:00 to 4:00 each! I would get another if in the area.
Food was lackluster but not bad by any means.
Worth a shot.
Nice to find a place that's completely vegan.
I stopped by to grab some brunch while in town.
Food: they have a wide assortment of things to eat ranging from snacks and pastries to full blown platters. I had the tofu scramble with potatoes and it was delicious. I tried their hot cocoa and it wasn't a huge hit (but still good) - I have been on a search for good vegan hot cocoa and haven't come across anyone that's knocking it out of the park. But I digress. The serving size was adequate and I ended the meal with a Oatmeal-Cream Sandwich (I didn't need it but I wanted it!). My brunch (sans cookie) was very filling. They have a wide array of baked goods (Duh they are a bakery after all) that invite you to try so many things.
Environment: The store is laid out in a very inviting manner as you have an outdoor seating area, indoor facing the window and then low tables to choose from. You are also engulfed with a lot of various things that are for sale from food to cookbooks and more. I enjoyed the seating and vibe felt just right. Sticky Fingers is right in Columbia Heights area and near trains, supermarkets and buses. So you will have a wide array of crowds outside and in the surrounding area.
Revisitability (aka will I go back): Hands-down yes. I feel like there are so many things to try.
Value: I felt the price was pretty adequate for an all-vegan bakery and food shop. Things were reasonably priced and I left feeling full from my meal and not empty in my pockets.
Sweets are great. A bit expensive, but great. There's a reason every vegan restaurant in town carries sticky fingers.
But stick with the sweets.
The "food items" don't belong on the menu. Never had anything worth buying from breakfast to lunch.
I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT YOU. OH MY VEGAN. WELL I ORDRR A CSKE FOR MY BIRTHDSY. IM VERY SKEPTICAL IF EATING OTHER PEOOPLE CAKE OR FOOD. IT TOOK ME THIS LONV TO ORDER I ALWAYS bake my own vegan cake . Well I didn't like the icing . It was horrible but the cake itself do moist and soft. I just scrape of the icing. But will try other cakes but not the red velvet. I will recommend this to all my vegan friends. Thank you for making my day special 💕
Sickly sweet. I've had my fair share of desserts here - cookie sandwiches, cupcakes, monkey bread, chocolate chip cookies - every bite is loaded with sugar. Even with sprinkles of salt, the salty chocolate chip cookie was a little too sweet and didn't have the sweet and savory taste that I hoped for.
Among the vibrant cupcakes and rows of baked goods, the only dessert I truly enjoy and often gets overlooked is the hot chocolate. It's quite decadent and rich, but not overpowering with sugar.
Sticky Fingers doesn't quite satisfy my sweet tooth like the way Baked Joint does.
The food was amazing! I didn't try any of their sweets, but their coffee was really good too. Also picked up a convenient bag of vegan marshmallows on the way out as I don't come across them too often.
Five stars for mid-day quiet, friendly staff, and pretty good food. I did not enjoy the tempeh bacon, but they quickly replaced it with no issues. I spent two hours there and was able to finish edits to a book without interruption. It's also a great place to people watch.
I have been frequenting Sticky Fingers for years. I discovered them back when I was fresh out of high school, had just become vegan and I have been eating here ever since. I was looking for a local vegan eatery because back in 2009 and a few years after that, there were not many vegan/vegan-friendly options around, and I happened upon Sticky Fingers and never looked back.
I primarily eat the pastries they have, but they do also offer entrees. My favourite pastry to purchase from here is their original sticky bun!!!! It is sweet, yet not overly, cloyingly sweet. I always order multiple sticky buns at a time. They also have delicious muffins, doughnuts, cupcakes and more!
The atmosphere is quite cute, with a retro feel. The owner of this restaurant, Doron, opened their sister restaurant Fare Well back in 2016 and since then, a lot of the dishes that were served at Sticky Fingers were removed from the menu. However, they still serve a good amount, and their drinks are also delicious. They have a very appetizing cookies n cream shake and a cold chai latte that is absolutely delicious. The downside is that they have downsized their drink sizes, so for the amount of money you pay for a drink, you only get a small amount, which really sucks because years ago, you could get a decent sized drink for the same amount.
Regardless, Sticky Fingers is certainly your go-to for baked goods, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, and my favourite STICKY BUNS!! I highly recommend stopping in the cute, retro restaurant and giving their fare a try. You won't regret it.
Great cupcakes and coffee. At first, I was a little skeptical and thought that vegan ingredients might lead to sacrifices in taste/quality, but I would choose a Sticky Fingers cupcake any day. There's a $5 cash minimum, but there are plenty of great things to pick up if you must use a card. Three cheers to a really warm and hardworking staff as well!
When I became vegan last year, Sticky Fingers was THE place I was dying to go to. I have to say I expected better tasting cupcakes - as they are known for it, like another reviewer said. But they're still good.
I love their sandwiches, particularly the "tuna" one. They have a good chocolate cake, and where else can you find a mac'n'teeze? It's definitely great to have an all-vegan place to go in the DC area.
I think they're a little bit overpriced, but I feel happy to support an establishment which promotes food and beverages without harming any animals.
Unbelievably delicious! Went for the cupcakes which were amazing and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I’ve never had a better grilled cheese sandwich, you’d never know the items were vegan if someone didn’t tell you.
Ehhhhh, I'm not a vegan so I almost feel bad writing a review. A friend and I split an oreo cupcake and a glazed donut which we traded half way through thinking the other had the better treat. Both were pretty pricey and dry, the frosting on the cupcake was markedly dry - I left feeling like I should have just gone to Zombie Donuts instead. But if you're a vegan its worth a trip.
Okay for you because out there thought you would never have a donut again this is the place for you! The Suites at Sticky Fingers are amazing my non-vegan family loves the cake as does my vegan family. The chocolate chip cookies would fool Miss Fields herself. The owner is friendly and the staff is as well great place to stop for a snack a cupcake cookie or donut.
Tried this on a whim - it's good, but as a non-vegan, I'm not sure I would go back for baked goods, butter does make everything better! I was definitely pleasantly suprised for a vegan bakery and can see why this place is recommended. Good amount of seating for those who want to grab a snack when they stop by.
My wife is vegan and loves the cookbook that inspired this place. We were very surprised by how plain it looks inside. For a vegan shop that says they care about the world, they use non biodegradable Togo cups that you would expect at a gas station. It just felt odd.
They really need a numbering system for food because the guy bringing out food would come out, say the menu item and no one would say anything. There was less than a dozen people in the shop.
I got a brownie and it was extremely dry and uninspiring. I don't think we'll be coming back here but we will continue to love the things we make from the cookbook!
Yeah man it's kinda expensive but it's so good. Best bakery in dc. You forreal would not know any of it is vegan. They also sell some of their desserts at MOMs organic market and some locations of Whole Foods.
Their fondant birthday cakes are kinda super dry and disappointing though, but I think that's just because fondant sucks in general. So stick to cupcakes and frosted cakes.
All the sweets are delicious. Chocolate peanut butter gluten free dessert option is one of my favs. Casual spot. Mondays have weird hours or are closed so you may want to check out their hours before you go.
Awesome vegan bakery and restaurant. I wish the place were bigger though - sometimes it's just too crowded and I don't even bother going in. I hope that they open a new location at some point! DC could definitely use more vegan dining options- the Sticky Fingers owners/management should consider a new restaurant with an expanded lunch/dinner menu in addition to their stellar baked goods.
I can't help but like Sticky Fingers. I used to frequent more often, but it is a far trek from home and now I know how to bake my own vegan stuff. The donuts are awesome though, and I really wish they sold them on the weekends when I have more time to make it to the city. Beyond baked goods, the food is not that great. And the prices are high for what you get. I love vegan milkshakes but a tiny one for 8 bucks is kind of insane. But hey, if you can afford it, go for it. Also - service is hit or miss. FYI you can also find Cowvins, brownies, and basic cupcakes in Whole Foods and Mom's throughout the DMV!
This place is a little underwhelming. I used to love their chocolate chip cookies because they were thick and chewy. They've changed the recipe now and it's more of a thin, brittle cookie. I also had their blueberry pancakes for brunch one day, and was a little startled at how small they were for how much I paid. The cinnamon rolls are huge and look pretty good, but I haven't tried them. If you are a fan of their cookies, however, you can buy them at any of the local Whole Foods stores.
First of all, all the non-vegans, listen up. Do NOT let the title vegan scare you. Yes, Sticky Fingers is vegan, but that doesn't take away from how amazing it it. It only adds to it. If you walk in and order one of their baked goods, you'll leave thinking you could actually turn vegan. Sticky Fingers is one of DC's best bakeries and right in the heart of hip Columbia Heights. It's a small shop but they use their space well having a room attached for people to sit and enjoy their food. Not only do they have great cupcakes and other baked good wonders, but they also serve other foods here too. For example, the BEST macaroni and cheese I've had in DC is right here at Sticky Fingers and....it was VEGAN! Amazing!
The cupcakes are sooo good! They are beautifully decorated and come in amazing flavors, they never disappoint. The Cowvin cookies are the best version of a whoopee pie I have ever had. Delicious cookies sandwiching a bunch of creamy frosting filling. Yummy! Plus, it’s hard to go wrong when the baking is done by a 2-time “Cupcake Wars” champion!
I bought my spouse a fancy cake for their birthday and it was soo good. The ordering process was smooth and easy. It was ready when they said it would be. It looked fantastic! The only thing I would have changed is that I got the bigger size! The cake was a huge hit with the vegan and non-vegan birthday celebrators!
I’ve always loved their baked goods. Recently ordered a red velvet cake and it was amazing – all my non-vegan friends agreed.Staff are friendly -But service can be a bit slow And inconsistent at times when ordering from the menu.
I have been to Sticky Fingers many many times and tried many things! Sweets are great! However, I wouldn’t waste your money on the cafe menu items. None taste fresh or like anything special. Sweet potato fries are bland, soggy and flavorless. Wish they would improve on this :(
This place is delicious! Everything is vegan and what we had tasted so wonderful. It’s really refreshing going to someplace where everything is vegan and then having it taste amazing!! The staff was super nice too so all in all it’s my new favorite spot.
5-minute walk from Columbia Heights metro. Cash and card accepted ($5 minimum on card). Great for any age and even non-vegans will love the food & drink. Seating can be tight at peak times but turnover is quick so don't be discouraged if you get there and no tables are open. Don't forget to grab your own silverware from the station near the register (or syrup, or ketchup, or water, etc.). You can park across the street at Giant if you need to pick up a few groceries (i.e. a pack of gum) - there's parking validation at check-out. I can't speak to the regular menu as I'm only there on the weekend, and they only serve from the brunch menu or the case on the weekend. They have several "wheat-free" options including pancakes and a breakfast burrito on the brunch menu, but the kitchen is shared so not great for celiacs. Matcha lattes with coconut milk or the chai are my drink go-to's. From the case, I LOVE the wheat-free silly bonez. I always cut it into slices and have it as an after-work treat during the week. They've got a 'fridge case with the best dill potato salad you've ever tasted, as well as mac 'n cheese and other quick items. There's also a shelf with lots of vegan candy and snacks (unreal m&ms, vegan gummy worms, candy bars, chickpea snacks, etc.). Don't forget to take your dishes to a bin on top of one of the trash cans. Within the big trash can, they have two smaller cans inside - the right is for recyclables only (look for the green sticker)! If you're dining in, ask them to keep the plastic lid for someone else =). I give them four stars only because sometimes the kitchen can move a little slowly.
Delicious! One of the only all plant-based bakeries/eatery in the city (at least for now). I come here often for Little Devils and Silley Bonez - the chocolate is rich and best of all, guilt-free. I've ordered birthday cakes here (the oreo and chocolate) and they're scrumptious. I've dined in once to try their mac & cheese and tomato soup - the place is a bit small, and the kitchen staff can be limited so the wait can be a while. If you want to dine in, I would recommend you go to their sister restaurant, Farewell, on H street. Ms. Doron Petersan is an inspiration and extremely talented - thank you for creating some kick-ass vegan treats in DC!
I tried the alt-tuna melt, the qusadilla, and a cupcake, and everything was delicious. You can tell a lot of care was put into balancing the flavors of the vegan dishes, they aren't simple copies of animal-based meals with different ingredients swapped out.
I'm not vegan but I bought the Carrot cup cakes first at Mom's organic and one day I decided to try the Chocolate love cup cakes.... and OMG these cupcakes are soooooooooooo much better than Georgetown cupcakes!! They are amazing and you can buy them at Mom's organic.... I plan on going to the bakery one day but as long as I can get them I'm happy!
Great vegan treats. Their peanut butter shake is especially delicious.
4 star for the deserts 3 star for the food. the deserts were ok, i guess it depends on what your used to comparing it to. I have the fortune of having great vegan deserts where i live with a couple establishments. That being said their vegan doughnuts were the most similar to how i remember doughnuts being which impressed me. Not all their deserts are equally good. we came for late lunch, the wrap was mediocre at best i never finished it. the potatoes looked like they had been cooked hours ago and came out cold and chewy... so if you go i'd stick with the desert based on my last experience and go elsewhere for quality vegan meal
I only go in for certain vegan desserts. It has a good selection:) some funky flavors which I don't necessarily enjoy but others may! Overall a good spot for a quick bite for vegans.
Recently had their Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Cupcake and it was absolutely amazing. The cake was perfectly sweet and moist while the salted caramel frosting added just the right amount of saltiness. I would definitely go back, again and again and again!
Fun and fresh bakery/café in Columbia Heights. Obviously the baked goods are delicious, and they offer a great variety of vegan options as well! Casual ambience and friendly staff. No Wi-Fi on weekends unfortunately.
Sticky Fingers is a fantastic bakery and cafe that is exclusively vegan. They have cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner - with brunch on weekends. They do custom order and wedding cakes and cupcakes - our wedding cake came from Sticky and it was delicious.
Ordered a nut free birthday cake for my allergic son and it was epic. Super tasty and beautifully presented. Ordering online and pick up were easy too. Thank you!
Ordered buffalo seitan wrap, side of mac and cheese, soup of the day (chili) and then had a milkshake.
Seitan, I think, was supposed to be served warm. However, it was ice cold. Mac and cheese was good - I should have gotten a large bowl of this as my meal. Chili - nothing spectacular. Not much flavor. The milkshake (oreo/ cookies and creme) was nothing special. Small milkshake size for the price. If you want a real milkshake (V), go to hipcityveg.
I just bought Sticky Fingers Fudge Brownies - for the first time - at MOM's in Frederick. I am vegan now and have been trying different vegan baked goods. These brownies are hands down - THE VERY BEST BROWNIES I HAVE EATEN IN MY LIFE... vegan or not. No vegan exaggeration...the very best...ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!
Thank you Sticky Fingers!
The baked goods here are some of the best I've ever had. Hands down. I'm not even vegan, and I'd go here before nearly any other bakery in the city it's that good. Proof that you don't need butter to make crumb-scrumptious cookies and tender cupcakes after all, just some Sticky Fingers magic.
Though ok, it's a small bus-yourself kind of place, and not everyone buses themselves very effectively. But the decor is cute, there are plenty of seats (indoors and outdoors) free wifi... and the best cookies. Really I can't find anything to complain about.
My husband brought home leftovers and they were amazing. The loaded sweet potato fries and mac and cheese were on point, and the chocolate chip cookie was so good, I googled this place to see if it was really vegan.
As an omnivore with a die-hard vegan partner, I'm often on my own when venturing into a bakery for a doughnut or scone (and feeling a bit guiltier because of it). Sticky Fingers offers amazing pastries and some nice brunch options, even though their seating is very limited during busy times during the weekend. Their pastries rotate daily, so check their Facebook page to see what goodies will be in store for you.
The food here is amazing. They bake the best little vegan pastries. And they have a delicious menu too. Not to mention the staff are real nice here.
Deliciously tasty 100% vegan eatery. Mostly desserts, with some savory food items. Shakes, coffee, teas. Some on street parking, nearby garage. Small eating area inside. Clean unisex bathrooms. Courteous helpful personnel.
I have been coming to Sticky Fingers for years and always joke that if someone wants me to do something, bring me Stick Fingers! The year-round menu always has good things, but the seasonal items are some of my favorites- my absolute favorite is the pischatio rose sandwhich cookie offered in the spring. Don't discount the muffins either, they're the best vegan muffins I've had. Also, the TLT and loaded sweet potato fries are so so good. The quinoa salad did have cilantro in it the last time I had it. Parking is a pain, if you're quick the garage across the street offers a 2hr-free validation at the Giant below it. The Giant does have alcohol (DC), and the rest of a typical store. There's a farmers market/stands on Wednesday afternoon just down the block some times of the year, they might also be there Saturday, but the produce is amazing if you can make it.
I would give this place probably 4-5 stars for their bakery for which they are known. However, having went their initially for lunch, I was fairly disappointed. It did not seem like there was anyone in charge or well-trained front of house. They didn’t really have much familiarity with the menu and seemed to indicate that the owner or GM wasn’t taking care of in a timely of the things we brought up (namely the outdated menu listed online). The food was really disappointing to say the least. The Rueben was decent, but neither bore resemblance to a traditional meat Rueben or was sufficiently exciting or tasty as an alternative. The loaded sweet potato fries were really uninspired and not very crispy which is in my opinion what allows chili fries to be enjoyable.
The cupcakes, the sticky buns, the bars we’re all amazing and delicious and having worked in animal based bakery there was nothing left to be desired and that in and of itself is no small achievement.
We love sticky fingers! We ordered a sweetheart cake for our wedding and it was beautiful (and delicious).
I came here just this past Tuesday. It's right off the Columbia Heights metro (yellow line) and it's pretty easy to spot. I order the Mac and"Cheese" with a side of chilli, a chocolate cupcake to go, pecan borbon cream cookie, and a coconut rum latte. As a longtime vegetarian and retired vegan I can tell you that the Mac and "Cheese" is Sensational! I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I also loved the chilli even though it's not as spicy as i prefer. And the pecan cookies are so sweet, buttery and delicious you will be hooked after one bite. I couldn't finish my rum-coffee drink, not sure why I wanted alcohol. The drink was really good very smooth but the rum was too strong for me. I also love that my food was made fresh to order and brought to me. While I was eating a whole flood of people rushed in (around 6pm) so I'd come in before or after this time to avoid a line. I was so happy with my food I got back in line to grab something to go. They even make doughnuts on Tuesdays and I saw that they had a few left in the case. Sadly by the time I got through the line all the doughnuts were gone :/. I ended getting another pecan cookie and a chocolate chip to go. My mom loved the chocolate cupcake also and wants to come here for breakfast some weekend. Anyways I'm hooked I hope to come here at least once a week and try everything on the menu. Thank you Sticky Fingers!
Love their breakfast burrito with the potatoes. All of the sweet treats have tasted delicious to me. It can be hard to find a seat on the weekends during peak brunch hours but it's not impossible.
I'm a big fan of Sticky Fingers. I'm not vegan, but love the fact that their baked goods are pretty much as healthy as it's going to come on the dessert-front. I love the Cowvin cookies, and they don't make me feel uber gross from the frosting after finishing off one. Can't beat that. I've brought their stuff to work functions before and people love it.
When they first open I thought wow this place is amazing. Especially because I have a sweet tooth and at that time decided to become vegan...I am no longer vegan and still love their sweets even better. Their quality is still amazing and tasty
The tuna melt is outrageously good. The sweets are dangerously delicious. The salads are great & filling. The warm food is yummy.. The boozy milkshakes are a must. I pre-ordered award winning cupcakes easily. They have a grab and go refrigerator case for Gouter juices and to-go sandwiches, wraps, quinoa, soup, etc. Vegan snacks & chocolate, coffee... + Thanksgiving saving graces :)
Pricey but delicious vegan treats
Finally a vegan bakery that makes products that are delicious and beautiful. Great bakery for constrained diets (vegan, gluten free, allergies). If they don't know the answer, they'll read ingredients and make 100% sure.
Absolutely loved it! Went on a Saturday morning for brunch and had a wonderful meal! Love the cherry blossom cupcake (a beautiful almond cake with a tart cherry compote and icing like eating silk!)!!
I am NOT a vegan but I like trying different things my fiance was vegan for quit some time we both agree they make really good desserts I have had there vegan cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies there are very tasty the down side there in DC
I gave up dairy about a year ago, and I never thought I would be able to enjoy a Boston cream filled donut again. Sticky fingers has proven me wrong! I had to go up and make sure that it was vegan after I took a bite!
I love this place because food is vegan. Also because of the delicious cupcakes. But I've been waiting for more than 20 minutes for a sandwich.l to go. They could work a bit faster.
Whether you are a vegan or not, Sticky Fingers serves delicious food that takes care of any craving you have. From their grilled "cheese" to the incredible cupcakes, this Columbia Heights restaurant is one of my favorite places in the city!
Sticky Fingers has friendly staff and an amazing vegan brunch on the weekends! Some of my favorites include their breakfast burrito, the pancakes, and the French Toast!
I'm not a vegan but I am a baked-goods snob and Sticky Fingers is one of my favorite bakeries in DC. They have a great variety of sweets and other things... sandwiches and fru fru coffies.
Great vegan food. Obviously it's sweeter and richer than a health food place. The veg breakfast sausage is really good, as well as the donuts.
Awesome vegan breakfast and lunch - and outstanding cupcakes and sweets. I've been there twice now, and am grateful it's walking distance. I'll be back often.
Pretty awesome vegan bakery. Everything I've had hear has been really tasty. If you're looking for vegan baked goods then this is your spot.
Excellent food and service, but I couldn't give it 5 stars because the chairs, floor, and bathrooms were quite filthy. :(
Also loved Fare Well - same company, more extensive menu, much cleaner, also delicious food.
My muffin and tea was great. When I first went the bathroom was filthy. I went back for tea and it had been cleaned. The grill was down too..I'd definitely go back. The service was great.
Great treats and food. Service with a smile. Vegans and non-vegans love this place. The bakery case is always stocked with delicious bakes.
Disclaimer: I am not vegan. Yummy, moist cupcakes. I make the trip here every year for my sister’s birthday and I’m never disappointed.
Convenient location and great staff! I have a lot of allergies and I was very grateful for all the help navigating the menu so I could choose a dish that was good for my diet. The meal was delicious too!
Wonderful!!! I regularly get Classic Vanilla cupcakes or the Cowvin Cookie! 😍😍😍😍 The best part, as if it could get any better after you taste the goods in this shop, is EVERYTHING IS VEGAN!!!!!😍😍😍😍 …
delicious assortments of cupcakes, pastries and cookies! whats even better is their brunch menu! I would recommend their French toast which is made with nutmeg and cinnamon batter :)
I'm not vegan, but I love their chocolate chip cookies with sea salt. Also had slices of many of their cakes. Great stuff.
Amazing sticky buns! Will be back for more!
The sweet items are great and the service is great too but I tried the sausage and French toast and they were pretty horrible. I tried the quesadilla a few years ago and it was great, but the sausage and French toast were beyond saving.
My favorite vegan bakery in the world. Hands down.
They get it! They get the cake-to-frosting ratio right, and the frosting is light and whipped. Best cupcakes in the city, no question!
Everything they bake out of here is freaking delicious and the service is one of a kind. They have a great selection going on and the people here are super nice.
No it's not! Folks don't realize how expensive it is to offer the public the very best! The cereal in a typical box of cereal probably costs 5 cents... but the box of cereal costs around $4.00! The cereal is made from the cheapest crop bid, milled and processed to death (with steam and chemicals), then "enriched" with cheap, artificial vitamins, then various sugar syrups and additives/chemicals for color, moisture, puffyness, (artificial) flavor, pourability, and preservation. Real food that helps, not harms, your body COSTS a lot more to produce. It boils down to one's priorities. Everything that goes into our mouths should augment our health... we eat to nourish our bodies, not just to fill our tummies.
Good cookies and pastries. Vegan friendly. Nice hot and cold beverages. Good selection of breakfast items as well. Recommend it.
Solid selection of sweet, vegan-goodness, that both my dairy-free wife and I loved. We'll gladly visit again whenever we're in town!
Soo good! A bit pricey but worth the portion and price
Great vegan cakes which even a carnivore will love! Try the Boston creme, probably the best cake on the menu!
loved all the vegan things! the cookie dough was great and so were the doughnuts! very cute place
LOVE. The Sweets are better than the Eats, but most of the Eats are amazing. Can't go wrong with their cupcakes, though, that's for sure...
what a great place! the pancakes are awesome and they definitely know how to make there coffee!
the employees are nice and welcoming.
I will definitely come back
Great vegan eats and baked goods. Brunch is also available on weekends! Try the chorizo tacos or buffalo chicken wrap
Eat here all the time and am always pleased. Its so wonderful to have a reliably awesome vegan restaurant for any meal you like.
Donuts and crumb cake and sweet and salty cookies are the best. Try the chorizo tacos if you want some substantive. Mostly friendly staff.
The food is great! I got the breakfast and it is soooo good. I also got donuts and they are tasty.
Delicious TLT sandwich and cupcakes. Very cute vegan cafe for a quick bite or a take out lunch.
Vegan cupcakes? Yes. It's worth it. Great atmosphere, and the frosting is a velvet paradise!
You must order online - our Baker was very patient and super friendly!!
I love the baked goods that come from here - I'd probably eaten a half dozen cupcakes on various occasions, before I found out that they are vegan - it's totally unnoticeable.
A Columbia Heights institution. I'm not at all a vegan but I love their sweets and food verbally. Vibe is great and staff nice
Vegan that goes beyond anything you'd expect. Best items are the Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcake and the Vegan Mac & Cheese.
Nice spot to grab a vegan bite! Delicious food. Definitely worth it. Desserts are on point!
Fun place with a lot of variety for vegan options. Also a great atmosphere to eat there. Love their consideration for community too.
These guys are the best in the area. They have the best customer service and their pastries are just amazing. I’ve been coming here for the past two years and I’m yet to be disappointed. Best place in the area.
Would be nice a way to donate money separately to the charity of the month. It would also be even better if they had more appealing flavours for the charity cupcake, besides chocolate and vanilla.
Omg! You must get vegan treats from this place! Yum!!! The breakfast sandwiches are delicious, too!
Fantastic eats for the vegans in your life. Cookies and cream cupcake is always a hit in my home.
The quesadilla is slamtastic!! And the chocolate chip cookies are to die for, just can't believe it'has NO dairy!! yummmmm
Great brunch. Amazing vegan cupcakes!!
Great local bakery and cafe for a treat. The menu offers some really fun options. Truly a beloved DC small business.
Must stop for plant based/vegan food in DC
By far the best Vegan bakery in all of DC. The people are friendly and the cupcakes are divine!
Best vegan sweets I have ever had. They made my wedding cake!
Excellent vegan cupcakes and cakes and other sweet
Beautiful spot. So glad that they are there. A fixture. Also they have gluten free cupcakes and even some of the meals are -as well.
Great Vegan Bakery-Deli with a selection of both sweet and salty goodies for those on the go and those who come to sit and eat.
Favorite vegan place. The specialize in vegan pastures but sale an assortment of other things such as vegan nuggets, vegan jerky etc. Wonderful place.
Great cupcakes. Vegan menu is a bit limited but the food is good.
I strongly recommend you try them out when you have chance. They have an awesome selection and everything here taste amazing.
Delicious cupcakes and quick service!
Small shakes for 7$. - I had a Chai shake. It was good, and it was gone in about the sips. I always Ferrell they are doing me off.
Food was just okay. Bakery items are excellent, service is awesome and other vegan items offered in store are great!!
Great atmosphere! Amazing food! Thank you for providing awesome vegan pastries!
Best pastry shop ever! Lots of specialty vegan snacks and breakfast items that are all delicious.
Great baked goods and it's all vegan. Over priced and the staff is not friendly for the most part.
Cute little place with very delicious cupcakes
Great food and unforgettable desserts, best vegan mac and cheese I've ever had!
INCREDIBLE! Friendly staff, and delicious! I still dont understand how they do it...
Cute simple spot with vegan sweets. I'm not vegan but I enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie.
Yummy vegan treats, friendly service, good coffee. All around love this place.
Very good place , they have delightful pastries and delicious tacos. I highly recommend Sticky Fingers.
Consistently amazing vegan cupcakes and treats, especially inviting with entrees on the menu now.
Love coming here! Food is always great. Iesha gave excellent service, like I always get here.
Friendly staff, delicious brunch, lots of sweet treats. A must stop for vegans.
Whether or not you're a VEGAN this place is awesome! And you should be a vegan. Good for you, great for the planet!
Great gluten-free finds, tucked away in columbia heights. I stop here whenever I'm in the area.
The desserts were delicious. Will return to try the breakfast options.
Great place! Many delicious vegan options and friendly service.
The food is amazing!! I had the tacos and quesadillas and can't say which were better. Both were oh so good!
The wheat free cupcakes are amazing and the decor is adorable. I highly recommend!
Had the cinnamon buns so delicious. Very helpful staff, will definitely be back soon.
Surprisingly good breakfast burrito, and I'm not vegan. Good enough for me to come back for more.

This is the best vegan bakery you will ever visit. Don't miss out!
Great treats and dishes, fresh food and friendly service make this one of my favorite spots.
They also offer brunch on the weekends. I like their cookies and brownies more than their cupcakes.
I had a cupcake from here and it was objectively delicious. A bit pricey, but delicious.
Sticky Fingers is the best place on earth. Anyone who says otherwise can go kick rocks.
Nice, but their milkshakes are overpriced for a small cup. I paid 8 bucks for a kids cup.
The bunnyhugger carrot cupcakes are the best! They are the only reason that I go to this shop.
I wasn't able to tell that the deserts here are vegan. The food here is rich and flavorful.
The Sticky buns are the best...I cone from Baltimore just to get them!!
Get the chocolate chip cookie and the Oreo donut! Also the staff was great.
Such a wonderful bakery experience, and tasty food! Great customer service!
Fun and off-beat place. Seating sucks (unless it's outside). Great service. Great eats
Love the quesadillas,They were so tasty
Expensive but oh so worth it. The double chocolate fudge cake is sinful.
Absolutely delicious!! I'd recommend the Reuben, stews, and desserts
they have a nice selection of things there but im not sure it's a very wide selection. the geometry of the place is odd as well
Local landmark that always has some great selections and sweets. It hasnt changed in ten years.
Only some of the dessert is hood and tasty but some are just simple and some nasty
Great vegan treats! Well worth the stop
Awesome food, friendly staff! Love the brunch specials!
Good food, but disorganized kitchen. Put our order in 30 minutes after ordering because they "lost the ticket".
Everything is so good! I can't believe it's vegan!
The BEST EVA!!! From cakes to breakfast, you can't go wrong!!
Great local spot with some fun stuff, including a bunch of glutton-free options.
Great brunch and treats. Even gluten free ootions.
