Reviews of Georgetown Cupcake
Abhinav
We were recommended this place by many as we were visiting DC. We waited in the line for 10 minutes to get in. The frosting of the cupcakes was great but the cupcake texture pretty average. $20 for half dozen cupcakes felt expensive. No need to try their beverages if it’s your thing. There are far better beverage places.
Food4/5
Ambience 5/5
Service 5/5

As a tourist this place comes highly recommended but sadly I thought the cupcakes were just OK! I loved the variety of cupcakes and even opted for some vegan/gluten free selections but I was underwhelmed by the flavor and texture (which was more like a muffin). The cupcakes are very dense!
happy I got to try it but would opt to go to another cupcake bakery in the future.
Warakorn M
It is an ordinary cupcake , nothing special. It was ok but too sweet. hot beverage was too hot.
The size of cup cake is small compared to the price. The cake is a bit dry and the cream on top is too sweet. Red Velvet was not bad.
Hagar Najib
I am sorry to say that , but it is overrated. When we first arrived and I saw the waiting line ,thought "Oh, must be something so special " .. after almost 30 minutes waiting, I was surprised that is an ordinary cupcake , nothing special. I can't say it's not delicious. But the size is small compared to the price, not worth it . The cake is a bit dry and the cream on top is full of sugar 🙊 .
Coconut cheese cake and red valvet can be the best of what I ordered.
Hope you consider your prices!!

Tho I don't eat cupcake much, this place has pretty good cupcakes. They are not too sweet, very moist, and the size is just enough. The place can be sometimes crowded with a line outside the store.
Matthew Hsu
I heard about Georgetown Cupcakes and decided to give it a try since I was in the area. The line to get in was long. I waited for about 20 minutes. They have quite a bit of variety of cupcakes and all tasted pretty good. The packaging is quite impressive as well. The location is about an 8 minute walk from Georgetown University.
Treasure Island
We occasionally eat their cupcakes as gifts, so this was the first time to purchase cupcakes by ourselves. Fortunately the line was short when we arrived so we took the opportunity. We got Halloween limited cupcakes and 2 of the everyday ones. The vampire red velvet and the chocolate graveyard ones was very good. The peanut butter fudge cupcake was also excellent. However the lava fudge on was not great and was a little disappointed as I was expecting like a lava cake consistency over just a chocolate cupcake.
I would highly recommend going here during the holidays, special events, or to someone who is a first time visitor to DC as there is always something good here. But it may not be worth a very long wait if you are not a cupcake lover.

This is based on mere preference, but I didn't like the texture of their frosting; it was too frothy. My friend liked it though. I liked the texture of the cupcake; it was dense. I was pleasantly surprised by the peanut butter frosting with chocolate cupcake. The coffee cookies n' creme cupcake had a strong coffee taste that I liked. The server could have been more helpful.

Georgetown Cupcake was fantastic. Our bus broke down outside (we think it was destiny!!) of their shop and they handled 33 of us like pros. I highly recommend the coffee toffee and my son loved the Dad Chocolate. We both washed them down with a big glass of Whole Milk. We love whole milk and were thrilled they had that as an option.

Definitely the best cupcakes in town. I tried the pumpkin cheesecake cupcake and it was so good that I didn’t want to stop eating it. Be prepare to make a line sometimes but it’s worthy. This has been one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever tried.
Wendy Gao
I've heard good things about this place but they didn't live up to the hype. The cupcakes were surprisingly dense, almost like a condensed cupcake or a muffin, definitely not light and fluffy. Taste wise, it ranged from pretty good to awful/weird depending on the flavor. The lemon blossom was the best out of the ones I tried, the cheesecake was great - although not really a cupcake it was more of a cheesecake base, and the lavender Earl grey was my least favorite.
Most of the flavors was in the icing and not really the base. The buttercream frosting was really sweet to me, but the cream cheese frostings were pretty good and just the right touch of sweetness. I would consider getting them again, but wouldn't go out of my way for them again.
Renee Kar-Johnson
The best cupcakes I have ever had in my life. The new flavors really got me and made me feel some kind of way. I waited in line for a hour and a half and I would do it again. They ran out of tea so they even gave me a free cupcake. I can’t even imagine why people like baked and wired ;)

So yummy and the only place I’ll eat the frosting off, they shipped it All the way from DC to Houston, and they were in tip top shape! They so yummy and the frosting isn’t that sweet which is good! Tbh totally recommend this place

Be prepared to wait if you didn’t order ahead. To us, their cupcakes were just okay/average.
We visited Georgetown Cupcake on a Tuesday evening. There was a long line outside the door (as currently they only allow one party in the store at one time). It was a 50 minute wait for us (arrived ~5:35pm, got our cupcakes ~6:25pm).
As they close at 7pm, and more people were still coming, one of the employees came outside a little after 6pm to announce that they only had very limited flavors left for the day. It was nice they did this.
The ordering process wasn’t very efficient; the employee pretty much needed to explain to each group of customers about what flavors they still had. If this can be digitized on a display (with counts would be awesome) it would make ordering a much smoother and quicker process.
As for the taste of their cupcakes, we felt they were just average. The bread part was on the dry/firm side. Their size was on the smaller end. Icing was okay; some flavors were too sweet and some were just right (we prefer not too sweet). Other than some flavors being nicely decorated, we felt overall they’re not that special and not worth $3.75 a piece.
All in all, as it’s an extremely popular place, we wanted to give it a try. Now we have done it, will we go back? Maybe not, not with this type of wait line and this price - to us it’s not worth it. I’m sure a lot of people love their cupcakes, whether it’s because of their taste, decorations, or just name brand, but unfortunately they didn’t amaze us. It’s still good to see them become an iconic and successful business in this area and we still hope they continue to do well and serve many many more customers in the years to come.
Surprise Pikachu
I thought they were delicious, the strawberry was my favorite (frosting tasted like the häagan-daz strawberry ice-cream but soft and light, kind of melts in the mouth) and I enjoyed all the flavors. I waited 20 minutes and only went because I was curious to try them. I wonder if all these reviews saying they were just "ok" are just because people over hyped them and expected something magical? They are definitely better than ok, they are very good. I'm not a huge cupcake person but I do love sweets, and I would definitely get them again and recommend them. The frosting was incredibly flavorful and the ratio of frosting to cake was perfect for my taste. They also look very pretty. I think the price is reasonable, DC is an expensive area, and they are well known.
Dan Urban
Amazing cupcakes, huge line! Do yourself a favor and order online in advance. We did that, then waited 30-40 mins in line to pick up. When we got to the front of the line, they told us that advance orders can walk right in to pick up and bypass the line. You won't regret trying these cupcakes!
VC
*Edit: To my surprise the cupcakes arrived only 1 hour late, even though they never sent an email. 3 stars just because they look nice. Customer service should be better though.
I ordered birthday cupcakes for delivery today between 10am-1pm! I haven’t got a confirmation email, nobody answers the phone. I’ve also sent two emails and no response! I’m leaving 1 star because based on the other similar reviews I’m sure they won’t arrive! Customer service alone is zero stars for me.
Jerry Clark
These cupcakes are absolutely delicious, not too overpowering sweet, they are simply just right. My fav would be the Butterscotch Waffle Cone Cheesecake!
Michelle Nguyen
Waited 30+ minutes in line for these cupcakes. The chocolate ganache cupcake was rly dry, but the rest were okay. Don't think it's worth the hype. Maybe the bethesda location is better.
Gisselle B
These cupcakes are so moist and delicious. They have so many flavors to choose from as well as their monthly "special month flavors" that change each month. Also, great icecoffee!
Bethany
CONs: The cupcakes are soso at best and they run about $4.25 each with tax. The vanilla cupcake was heavy and not flavorful. I got salted caramel icing which masked the taste of the cupcake. I got a chocolate ganache cupcake. The cupcake was very dry. The ganache icing was ok. The candy flower decoration was not good. In the end I threw away half of each cupcake.
PROs: The employees were great. They really moved the line, were courteous, and packaged the cupcakes nicely
Amy Zhang
To be frank, the cupcakes were overpriced. We bought 6 for $20 and they tasted pretty medicore for the size and taste. (They're pretty small and dense) I came here with a recommendation from a friend. The cupcakes tasted like the $5 dozen cupcakes you could buy from the grocery store. I didn't like the butter cream frosting it's too sweet and I could taste the large sugar crystals.
I don't understand the hype. But hey, if you have time and money go for it.
Personally, I wouldn't buy from here again.

Mail Delivery: Not a cupcake fan - I LOVED these cupcakes! We received these as a gift. The carrot cake was my favorite, do not hesitate to order! Packaging was adorable and kept everything cool and safe!
Marcel Thor
Really cozy cupcake place. Their cupcakes look amazing, however the texture of the cupcake itself is kinda average and could be better.
Still a 5 out of 5 and recommending this place.
Christopher Jacobs
Stumbled upon this gem in Georgetown. The selection was great and the cupcakes were delicious. The shop was busy but the staff was friendly and kept the line moving! We were in and out quickly.
Just Saying
I received for Mother’s Day from family. My husband was so excited about the chocolate cupcakes and we enjoyed every cupcake with icing very much. What a wonderful thoughtful gift to receive.
Cristina Clark
Pretty good cupcakes and frosting! They really nailed the frosting. I got them for thanksgiving and got a two boxes of all sort of cupcakes. The best is the pumpkin spice cupcake and I don’t even like pumpkin. Some are very sweet but overall very good!
Allen
Pretty decent cupcakes, but not blown away. tasted like the cream was cream cheese based
Good prices for coffee
Glenda Evans
Don’t get me wrong, I love Georgetown cupcakes, but I live about 50 or so miles away, so I ordered them….the icing was all melted and stuck to the top of the plastic cupcake holder, I couldn’t tell what was what. I guess I just need to stick to ordering them during the fall and winter month’s….🥺😢 …
Norah Saeed
I’ve heard a lot about this place and turned out it’s overrated. The frosting was good but the cake was average .
As a tourist, happy I got to try it but for the future It won’t be an option for a bakery.
Danielle Valdez-Street
We were delivered these cupcakes as an anniversary gift from my in-laws. They were shipped across country. Arrived perfect! Packed with ice packs and it sturdy containers. My only suggestion would be a flavor guide in the box for assortment gifts. They do have the flavors listed on their website, so we were able to see what everything was, but some people may not be tech savvy enough to look it up. Lol. Overall, they were delicious and beautiful. Wonderful gift to receive. ❤️
Spiral Tote
My 1st time here and a 45 minute wait. I think it was worth it for these delectable delicious devine cupcakes. The caramel cupcake melted on my tongue.
Karsten H.
The Cupcakes were incredible. The coffee was really nice as well. Do you deliver Cupcakes to Ireland? 😁 …
Johanna Aurea
The best cupcakes if you are in Georgetown area! If you are not from the area and you want to try it, you can order it online and it will be ship to you. ♥️
Charlotte Rhea
i recommend it! we were trying to do georgetown cupcake tour so of course we had to come here. it was sooo good! the cake part wasn’t incredible but the frosting was amazing! i normally hate frosting lol i got red velvet which was so good. bc we were walking around the frosting kind of melted but it was still amazing!

Traveled from NC to visit VA and Georgetown Area and shops. Georgetown Cupcakes is a usual stop for us this was our third time. Unfortunately not pleased at all with the service or the cupcakes. We wondered whether the store was open at all! There were no lights on inside the store. The employees were not friendly, dressed sloppy not even business casual. When our cupcakes were ready, no one said anything, no thank you. Cupcakes were small and texture was dense. Frosting was good, however one doesn’t cancel the other, was not an experience worth making a special trip back for again.
Shipra Kanjlia
I dont understand the hype...even if there was no line, the cupcakes were surprisingly dry and the frosting did not taste like any special. The chocolate hazelnut one especially was dry. The "fudge core" inside the lava one was more like a quarter tsp of fudge. The red velvet was probably the "best" but it was just alright. If you consider the line, it's totally not worth it in my opinion. It's been over a year of COVID--I think they could have come up with a better system to deal with the perpetual line outside, like someone taking orders while people are in line or a quick online ordering system (right now you have to order before 5pm the previous day). Many smaller cafes have come up with such systems so Im not sure why Georgetown cupcake is not able to, considering all the business they clearly get...maybe to keep up the hype.
Jackie Ojo
The cupcakes were Ok, nothing spectacular and i am a self proclaimed foodie. It was good but I’m not sure i would wait outside in the cold for them. It was a nice experience though and the cupcake wasn’t too sweet. I got there around 7/8pm on Saturday and they were sold out of most flavors so i only got the vanilla.
kali not kali
When you wait outside in line for 30 minutes, walk in with a hello and the staff literally says nothing…??? It was silent in the store so you know they can hear you. 😂 The cashier was not in the mood for even average customer service. They need a better way of reducing the line. A booth outside maybe and the people inside bring the boxes out?
Now….the cupcakes. We’re unique & some dry but overall a good cupcake. I got the banana split, strawberry sundae & blueberry cheesecake.
Tonya Johnson-Jenkins
STOP HERE! DO NOT PASS THiS PLACE UP! ❤️ These cupcakes were delicious! 😋 Those with a sweet tooth rejoice! Get there when the store opens or you will have to wait in a very long line. There are so many items to pick from - it’s tough to make a selection. All of my selections were fantastic! Red Velvet Red Velvet yummy. My family and I had no complaints. We can’t wait to come back.
Ido Simyoni
First time we went there, we waited for 20 minutes and by the time we almost got in, we were told that they ran out of cupcakes and it will only be open for anyone who made online reservation (very disappointing since we’ve already waited the line). Second time we went, we waited for 15 minutes , cute store, a lot of options but not even one gluten free option so I couldn’t have anything. My friend took one and said it was just ok and wasn’t worth the wait. I guess it’s a great example of branding and hype but a product that doesn’t really meet the expectations or it’s hype. Few blocks from it you can find levain cookies which wowed us
Misha Coetzer
We waited 1.5 hrs. We were warned beforehand about a wait, but didn't think it would be this long and based on the cupcakes we got it was definitely not worth the wait. Maybe 30mins. If you can order the day before for next day pickup, do it.
Additionally there was massive confusion about those who ordered beforehand and just walking in and getting; people said they thought they had to wait in line too. One guy who ordered didn't even get the cupcakes he had ordered because they sold out. Don't think that's really good planning on their part.
Monica Rivera
Tasty cupcakes, light dough and frosting. I recommend the vanilla one and also the salted caramel cupcake. Some indoor seating available. Good coffee.
Giulia Azzolini Saugo
Their cupcakes are amazing, gluten-free cupcakesI included. For take away I recommend to go during weekday, on the weekends you have to wait in a long line outside.
I also had the opportunity to get a coffee there. Tables were dirty and they did not provide to clean them and I asked napkins twice. Garbage overfull.
Maja Hallberg
Most delicious cupcakes I’ve ever eaten! I recommend!
Alexis Slider
Visited from out West and was super excited to try! The aesthetic was nice, and the selection was amazing, but sadly these cupcakes were way too expensive to be as dry as they were. Icing was delicious but the cake was super dry, which surprised me.
Andrés Gomez
wow these have really dropped in quality :/ what a shame. I used to love these cupcakes, maybe I was young and didn’t have developed taste buds. that or they got worse.
honestly they taste like box cake mix was used, quite dry, no flavor besides sugar and the frosting tastes the same way. nothing dynamic about any of the flavors.
do yourself a favor and walk a few blocks to levain for something sweet instead.
Shelley Gabel
Finally tried this place. I got a chocolate cupcake and it was only okay. The icing was good but the cake was honestly on the dry side. We also had a cheesecake cupcake which was better. Also, they're a bit small for the price.
Kimberly VanderPloeg
I have purchased from this bakery several times over the past few years and the quality has definitely declined. Many of our cakes were over baked and the flavor was underwhelming. I also noticed the size of the cake has decreased over the years, yet the price is almost $4 per cupcake. I will choose another bakery in the future.
Judy Smith
Delicious! Last time we were here my granddaughter was not quite 6. She is 16 and she still loves it. She used to watch the show when she was young and we took her there when we picked up our youngest son from the train down spring break 2012
alfahad91
Worth the wait! Very delicious cupcakes.
Yoonsie Kim
I don't care what people say about locals preferring Baked and Wired, I consider Georgetown Cupcakes the best. If you love simple but great flavors, get the vanilla squared.
Line is usually long so a hack is to order for pickup the day before, or earlier.
Antoinette Richards
Today is my birthday! So my friends and I went to the movies in Georgetown and then we went to Georgetown cupcake to get cupcakes! I haven't been to Georgetown in about five years! But the cupcakes are still delicious, sweet, moist, and um um soo good! The staff were very fast, friendly and kind! The store is also very clean and cozy! I loved my experience today and definitely will be going back in the future! Yasss Georgetown cupcakes are still tasty yum! I bought half a dozen vanilla birthday cupcakes! 😘😘🥳🥳
Gav Hitchenor
Georgetown cupcakes always has fun themed cupcakes and great decoration. The delivery and gifting ordering is very easy and the presentation is great. Giving four stars because the line is usually very long and the cupcakes are definitely very hyped up. The cupcakes are very good but not the best cupcake I’ve ever had as many will claim. Overall will recommend but definitely not worth waiting in line for.
Ali Asghar
Their variety is great and they seem to always have what is on the menu. During our visit there was a long line and the line stayed about the same length for the entire time (>1hr). Service was great, staff was very pleasant and in good mood even with the never ending line. The menu does change and it posted online and on a large board in the shop. You can place an order on advance also but the day before pick up only. They have gluten free and vegan options also but very limited. I was very pleased with their care for people with allergies as she offered to even change their gloves before handing those orders. Cupcakes are made well and attention to detail from piece to piece to maintain a standard. Shop was clean even with high traffic and rain.
Madeline Coats
Had a good experience.
Loved the cupcakes- they’re definitely more about the fancy frosting instead of a good tasting cake. It’s definitely hyped up, but still good.
Line moves efficiently, it was out the door around 1:30pm on Sunday afternoon. Labor Day weekend.
We tried 6 flavors - pictured below.
Carrot Cake
Caramel Apple - has a filling
Oreo cheesecake - actual cheesecake with an Oreo crust bottom
Milk chocolate vanilla
Salted Caramel
Vanilla

Omg I was amazed!! Never had a cupcake so delicious in my life!! Went to visit my sister-in-law in Virginia and this was one of our stops from our sight seeing expedition. We were not disappointed. It definitely left us wanting more. Sadly we didn’t have enough time to go back for more before we left. But we were pleased to find out that they ship to our state. We had the holiday flavors. Chocolate Lava, Rudolf Red Velvet, Birthday Cake and Peppermint something cant recall all the names but they were all amazing. My husband doesn’t like sweets and they had him wanting another as well as the rest of us!! I’m now placing an order to get one for the holidays!!! Thank you Georgetown Cupcakes for the awesomely delicious experience!!
AMP Residential
THANK YOU Georgetown Cupcakes! We had our first company wide virtual conference today (usually held yearly in-person) with 13 Watch Party Locations from Detroit to Fort Myers and many cities in-between. Our cupcakes arrived at every location in perfect condition and everyone LOVED them! Ryan in your corporate services department was a pleasure to work with and we are so pleased with the service we received! Thanks for helping us celebrate our employees!
Allison Scully-Taylor
I would drive 4 hours to DC just for these cupcakes. They are the best cupcakes I've ever had. A little pricey but worth every penny. The way they make their icing is amazing. When looking at their menu online, it looks like they're cupcake flavors change from day to day. Line was out the door but moved quickly. A little tough to find parking, we ended up parking on one of the side streets and walking.
MI SEON Kim
Best cupcakes ever! Waited about half an hour but was worth enough!! I bought 4cupcakes but came back for another half dozen right after one bite. I've never liked cupcakes but it changed my mind. Cream was very tasty and cake was super soft! Definitely want to come back again.
Lucia Simone
The cupcakes here are moist and rich! The flavors are well balanced and not overly sweet. Before coming, I had been longing to try this store for many years. It did not disappoint. The price of $3.50 per individual cupcake is well worth it because you get a quality product. These cupcakes are some of the best in the world!
Meena
Excited to try this place out. After long wait of 1 hr got to know that most of the cupcakes are sold out and only choc & vanilla left. Tried them tasty but dried out. I would recommend going on a weekday than weekend
Katlin B.
Ordered local delivery. Very impressed with the swift delivery!!! Also got the gluten free dozen for the first time & they are so delicious! I am so happy they have this option. Thanks! I would love to see you take on a GF and Dairy Free Recipe!
Mark Leong
The Red Velvet is a must! So so good! Probably one of the best red velvet cupcakes I've had. The chocolate ganache is great too. The cupcakes are a bit small for the price but definitely worth it for the taste. Lines go out the door so prepare to wait. I waited about 15 to 20 min. Even so, I eould go back for the red velvet!
Demy Ocampo
I love Georgetown cupcakes however, I always use to buy from the SOHO location back when it was open in NYC. I notice that the flavors specifically the frosting here at the original shop is much stickier and almost reminds me of marshmallow thats been melted. I was not a fan. I was so surprise to see that the frosting here was so much different from the frosting they used at the OLD Soho location. Not gonna lie I was disappointed because all i wanted was to bite into my cupcake and have the same yummy feeling when i bit into it as i did with the soho location. Unfortunately, it was not the same. I would recommend that Instead of these cupcakes i would say check out Baked & wired down the street. They frosting was way better than the one here at George town cupcakes. Im unsure if the SOHO location was not following the original location frosting recipe or if theirs been a change in the recipe the last year. Im unsure but i just know that I was disappointed and didn't get the same yummy feeling as I did when i used to buy at the SOHO location.
Adriene Liggins
Order them every February!!!! My favorite flavors are in February, red velvet cheesecake, and strawberry cheesecake. I prefer to just order them because I don't like waiting in the long line and trying to find a park, very busy out there.
Megan Wilcox
The cupcakes we got were amazing and delicious. We stopped by around 3 pm to avoid long lines, and the service was very quick. The staff on duty barely smiled and didn't seem friendly. They were also a little impatient when foreigners were ordering. Overall, a good stop if you're in Georgetown and have seen their show.
Ana Bundy
Regular cupcakes. Very pricy-paying for the brand. We were ordering cupcakes for the event. They were ready to pick up on time and the girl even asked if I need help to bring boxes to the car. It was very nice of her.
Good service, took one star away for the high price.
Rob Macdonald
We stopped in after walking around the university. The place was very busy, lined up out the door. It moved fast. The store is so well laid out and visible from the street. The group of us tried a few of the different cupcakes. They were over the top. The best one was the peanut butter. But all of them were good. They have a large variety of flavors. I am sure you can find a favorite!
There is minimal parking in this part of town. So good luck if you try and drive here.
nivethitha jayaraj
Waited in line as expected but it was worth it. The caramel cheesecake and red velvet were my favorites, both true to the flavor but not overpowering and sweet.
The sea salt caramel and chocolate lava were the second best I liked. Apple caramel and the chocolate ganache were good but too sweet to finish in one sitting.
The only downside to the flavor choices is there was nothing on the fruity or balanced side to offset the sugar/ decadence from the other chocolate /caramel heavy ones. A tad expensive for the size of the cupcakes.
Eli A. Nunez
It’s worthy to be more than a half an hour in a queue to get a gluten free strawberry lava fudge cupcake 🧁 that was delicious 😋. Try to get there early in order to have more options. On Sundays they close at 8:00 pm. 100% recomendable. …
Rutuja Bawne
I have been here like million times. It is just amazing.
They have new Halloween flavors. All tasty and cute. It is always cheap to buy in dozens.
There is lot of 2 hour parking on street near by.
Mrs. Knight
Mouthwatering, moist, dense and surprisingly light deliciousness! The cupcakes are WORTH THE WAIT - how ever long the line is!!! If your going to wait outside in 33 degree weather don’t leave with less than a dozen! Caramel Apple, Strawberry, Vanilla Birthday, Double Milk Chocolate and Pumpkin Cheesecake have tasted spectacular! Just praying when I purchase their mix from William Sonoma they will taste just as good, fingers crossed!
Jeff Hansen
There's alway a great selection of very good cupcakes. Wish they had more gluten-free options. Still a great place for a treat!
Vikki Fraser
I received a dozen cupcakes for my birthday from my employer and I was so impressed with them that I turned around and ordered a dozen for my mother in Michigan for her birthday. Hers arrived beautifully as did mine and we are both impressed with the quality and flavor of the cupcakes. Thank you for making a shipping option available in 2020 when coronavirus makes it difficult to send presents.
D P
First time going here. I'm not a big sweets person but my goodness are these some good cupcakes.
The taste, texture is on point. Love the variety they bring. The prices are reasonable as well.
Also during covid-19 remember to order ahead of time. They only accept online ordering. Also for Georgetown try and go early in the day or later. Not during rush hour. Hard time parking.
Pat H
Heard so much about this place being amazing. As I’m in line looking at the menu online, I notice that the cupcakes are jus plain old cupcakes. No filling, nothing amazing with the toppings, just cupcakes. However, I had family members who lived at home (3 hours away) that were hard set on these things.
As we were waiting for our iced coffees, I ate one of the chocolate ganache cupcakes. Literally the most lackluster cupcake I’ve bought from a “fad-famous,” type of place. I’ve had Wegman’s cupcakes that blew my mind in comparison. A grocery chain, yes.
They are boring normal cakes for the bases and very spiritless tops.
I will NOT recommend this place to any family or friends. If you want pictures of the cupcakes, they’re website is spot on. Will post cake pictures later.
Sutinun R
Cupcakes look super cute! but for me the taste just so so. Long line waiting.
Bri M
First time ordering online due to COVID and it was so easy and convenient. Ordered at four and scheduled for a six o'clock pick-up. Customer service was courteous and friendly. My order was ready and I was in and out of the bakery in less than three minutes. Smelled like freshly baked cupcakes in my car which was delightful. Cupcakes were delicious, moist and simply heavenly. Best birthday suprise for anyone.
A Smith
The hour long wait we a bit much and there was no email confirmation or signage saying to walk right in if your ordered in advance. Luckily we just got out of line and walked in. Also after baking this past year during the lockdown I'm not a big of a fan.
Chanpen Tee
Cupcake is delicious. It's not too sweet. There are a lot of flavor.

I placed two different orders I had one shipped to Florida and the other a local delivery both arrived undamaged and were very tasty! Definitely recommend
Jada Carr
I've had cupcakes from here before but never fresh since this place is almost 2 hours away and I normally taste at an event locally.
Well this evening I was happy to be able to experience my cupcake fresh!
We got there late and all they had was Vegan Apple Cinnamon.
That was perfect for me because I can't eat the other stuff anyway! Ooh baby! That cupcake was so freaking yum !!
Sadly we got there too late to get a hot tea so I took my cupcake to another establishment to eat while sipping hot tea.
It was so good.
I definitely look forward to visiting again in the future, earlier in the day so I can try another delicious vegan flavor as well as one of their hot teas.
The great reputation earned by Georgetown Cupcake is well earned !!
Bethany Hart
Absolutely worth the wait. The line goes fairly quick. The staff was very kind. An experience you do not want to miss while visiting Georgetown
Delainie Maynard
Really wish we picked up more of the red velvet cupcakes. They were the best I've had in a long time
Richard Chapman
Overpriced cupcakes but it's a Georgetown staple. They are good though. $42 for a dozen.
Carmina Ng
Came here three times in one day
Ten people waiting outside the store in my fist visit, thought that I can come back later, but found around twenty that when I returned. I gave up and left in the third visit when the line was over thirty outside the store!
Returned half year later in hot summer while not much people waiting in the line and had a try finally. A bit too sweet for me~

My wife and I stopped by Georgetown Cupcake while we were in DC. We arrived there only to find out that they're taking pre-orders and online orders only during the pandemic. Fear not, we ordered online for half a dozen cupcakes to be picked up in an hour later. The cupcake frostings are pretty good and enough sweetness in it that I'm not sick of its sugar content. THe varieties of cupcakes are plentiful, choosing which cupcakes to get were pretty difficult as all of them looks good. I wish I can get all of them, hence their price is astronomical for cupcakes =( I'd come back and try more cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes!
Anthony Scott
I have heard from several people the DC cupcakes is a novelty because of the Cupcake Wars show. Well they are completely wrong. The cupcakes are very delicious and more moist than most cupcakes I have had. The only downfall was that there wasn't many unique cupcakes flavors when I visited; however, what was there was very good. It is a must go!
Munera A
Red velvet 100/10
Mocha chocolate chip 1000/10
Chocolate birthday 8/10
Most of the cupcakes we tried were so yummy actually!
Kenny T
Line was quite long, but I promise that it's COMPLETELY WORTH IT!! The BEST cupcakes in the entire area!! *Follow me on Insta: @foodieswain
Sarah Slack
There was no line and a huge assortment of different kinds of cupcakes..making hard to decide! We settled on peanut butter/chocolate, butterscotch/waffle cone, vanilla birthday cake, chocolate ganache, mint chocolate. These cupcakes are delicious...my kids thoroughly enjoyed them. $20 for half a dozen. Must try when in DC!
Doug Kahn
LOVE LOVE LOVE! We must have gotten lucky the day we went because there was nobody in line! (Usually it’s down the street). Lots of different flavor options for the cupcakes and they even have a rotating variety of vegan cupcakes. If you are a regular, consider ordering your box ahead of time so you can simply go in and pick them up.
sunita panigrahi
The cupcakes are to die for. We have to wait for almost more than 30mins. You get 7 cupcakes for 23$. Rainbow cupcake was my favorite
Ronald Wilson (Bronxvinylfunk, on IG)
Me and the Lady I used to date made it a thing to find a cupcake place in whatever state or country we visited. Gave our relationship an extra yet fattening purpose.lol. This cupcake place was tasty and unique. The crazy thing is I've been to the D.c. location twice. I've been to the Mercer street location in Soho NYC once and they're cupcakes I did not like. Smh D.c is on point. Pics are 2015
Nadja E. Solis
Always a long line, always worth it. The best cupcakes I’ve ever tried, they have such fun flavor combinations with just the perfect amount of sweetness. A must see if you’re in the area!
Mai Vang
Online orders can walk in, so no need to wait in line. I was still trying to decide which cupcakes I wanted, so I did not mind waiting in line. They serve two customers at a time, which is posted at the door, but honestly its busy and can be hard to tell how many individuals are with one of the two "group" of customers waiting to be served. One of the girls was rude about asking customers to wait outside. I was happy with the cupcakes and would be willing to come back to try other flavors when I am back in town - but hopefully they'll have better customer service at that point in time.
Brittany Crawford
I stay away from here as much as possible. The cupcakes are too freaking good. The Baileys is to die for, although the red velvet is delicious too. All of them are good. Eat them all.
David Jones
Tasty, aesthetic cupcakes. Definitely pricey, and there is a big line if you don't go early. Advisable to order the day before.
Tina P
This place did not disappoint. I ordered the red velvet and chocolate s'mores cheesecake cupcakes. The chocolate was a little too heavy for my tastes, but that's just a preference. The red velvet was divine, light and fluffy, I loved it.
Emily Counsellor (PamperingPanda)
The cupcakes were sweet, but not too sweet! Also a wide variety of flavors which was nice and they even had milk for my boyfriend who can't eat a cupcake without it! Not a whole heck of a lot of space to sit down but people leave pretty quickly so it's not much of an issue! Deeeeelicious!
Wei Hsu
The most popular cupcakes in Georgetown. We waited for two hours. That’s crazy but fun!
Samantha Yuan
My mom recommended this cute shop, have to order online, no on site order.
Cupcake is very nice, not too sweet, great moist and soft texture, buttercream also very tasty and wasn’t too sweet! Went back the next day cus it was so good!
Sanka Illangakoon
Visited the cupcake shop on our way to Georgetown and it was a delight. Freshly baked cupcakes of various flavours is just what I had in mind and this place offered it with tasty goodness. Would have preferred some more seating but I would recommend to anyone.
Carille
Ordering takes a while and there's frequently a line to order. But the staff was friendly. I ordered Red Velvet Swirl Cheesecake and Ruby Chocolate Raspberry. I enjoyed the raspberry cupcake. The cheesecake cupcake had a Graham cracker bottom, red velvet cake and cream cheese frosting. I thought the ratio of Graham cracker to cake to cream cheese was off, which turned the cupcake more into cheesecake than cake. But I do appreciate the variety of different flavors.
Lana Farouq
Be prepared to wait a long time. I ordered 4 cupcakes. The chocolate cupcake and chocolate ganache cupcake were soooo dry. Really disappointing. The mocha cheesecake and the peanut butter chocolate were great
Jordan Levine
While waiting in line to get in to shop, we were offered free lemonade and a yummy cupcake! I was so excited to visit this bakery. My favorite was the shark week cupcake they gave us while waiting. It was so delicious!
David S
Cupcakes were delicious and worth the wait. There’s was a lineup when we got there, but it seemed to go pretty quick. We decided to go there for desert instead of having it at the restaurant. Will visit again.
Judy Kim
Yay! Finally got to try this place! Visited around closing time, and many of the flavors were sold out but the remaining ones were still good. Brought them home from DC and they were good 2 days after. Would have been perfect if not for the airport security going through my carry on.
Ronald De Leon
Cupcakes are the best and offer a variety of tasty flavors. My wife loves the Valentine’s Day dozen that came in a nice heart shaped box with personal note. And we loved sampling all the flavors together.
Faria Zahura
Their cupcake is undoubtedly one of the best cupcakes ever. It is so soft and delicious. There is usually a long line outside the store. It is not that big inside to seat and eat because there is a lot of people. We had chocolate mint fudge and salted caramel cupcakes. Both were good, however, I felt that the frosting is too sweet for me.
Kajal Makwana
It’s MUST try place in Georgetown.
Usually the lines are pretty big but fat moving. The shop is open until 10pm but they serve the customer who are in line by 8pm. You can even order online and pick up in store. The store is small but it has varieties of cupcakes. I really like gluten free strawberry lava fudge, red velvet, pink rose, lovendar, and I forgot the name but it has orange flavour base and that taste amazing.
Angela Evans
Excellent fresh cupcakes. The only problem is that they have only one entrance with a line wrapped around the building. You have to wait for almost an hour to get a cupcake😏 …
Operations Manager
There’s a reason there’s a line at Georgetown cupcake’s. Nice that they have vegan cupcakes. Great place to stop when you are in Georgetown. best to order online versus waiting online in front of the shop in the hot sun.
Lamar Hannah
It was good. I will say the best cupcakes to me were the cheesecake cupcakes. The chocolate squared was a little dry my only disappointment. Overall good not mind blowing.
Toni Parga
Beautifully displayed, so colorful, so many varieties. They were filming their cupcakes of the month. You are encouraged to go online and pick your favorite. We tried 3 - Strawberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Ganache, and Red Velvet. The frostings were delicious!
Blossom Kim
pretty nice and cute cupcakes.
But there were so many people!!!!! I had to wait almost 40 minutes on weekend. The menu is different everyday, you should be check it.
Sadly I know after long waiting, they have an app. You can order using their app before 2 days and just get your cupcakes without waiting. I will use the app next time.
Also the cupcake box is not strong. I moved very carefully but it broke.
Ummay Aiman
Taste is good. Sells various types of cup cakes. My favorite ones are red velvet and chocolate. They open at 10 am on the weekends. This is the most popular cup cake shop in Washington D.C. It is located in Georgetown which is a famous area in D.C. They only have a few tables so you might share table with others. I do not think they have many outlets. Do check this place out when you are in D.C
Steve Channell
This is one of our favorite places to get cupcakes. They're amazing!! They have some cupcakes that are there every day, but then they have daily specials which are only there certain days of the week. My favorites are usually the seasonal specials, which are flavors that compliment the season. They have extremely creative flavor combinations, as well as classics, and if you're lucky, you may be on the "cupcake cam" and seen on the tv show "Georgetown Cupcake!" Do plan to wait a while in line, especially if you go on a weekend! Totally worth the wait, though!
A P
In town visiting family and we decided to stop here for a late afternoon dessert. The cupcakes in this location are phenomenal and heavenly! We ordered a total of 6 cupcakes - Peanut Butter Fudge, Lemon Blossom, Vegan Apple Cinnamon, Baby Pink Vanilla, Coffee Cookies and Crème, and Coconut. Each cupcake was moist and each had a unique flavor and taste. Definitely recommend the Peanut Butter Fudge and/or the Coconut cupcake. Service was great and the line outside for people waiting to get inside was long meaning this establishment is definitely worth it!
Nosferatu Dracula
Steep prices, slow service, less than helpful staff.
3.50 per cupcake is pretty steep.
Icing isnt smooth, has the consistency of granulated sugar.
The girl running the register today was anything but kind, helpful, or happy to be there.
It took about 8 minutes to get the cupcakes after ordering (only ordered two).
The chocolate cake tastes super good.
I wouldn't go again, not worth the time/cost.
Michelle Cruz
OMG. That is all this review needs. OMG, DEE LISH US. Just go over there right now and pick up one of their treats. I had the chocolate ganache. Not overly sweet, moist and cute, the whole cupcake experience. And just the right size so you aren't left with that guilty feeling. The place is cute. White walls with dozens upon dozens displays of colorful and scrumptious looking cupcakes. Everyone seems happy to be working there. I wonder why that is...hmmmm...!
idea2208
Really it was the best cupcakes I've ever eaten in my live . The cupcakes are unique and super fresh. The service was great and quick even though they had a long line all the day.
Chris Jurica
I'm a land surveyor in Texas and just finished a survey for a client from Virginia who owns a lot in Blanco, Texas. The job had its challenges and after going over it her she surprised my family and I with a shipment of cupcakes from here. My family loved them! A+ for for taste and presentation! I look forward to sharing these by mail with others in the future!
Sandra Cunningham
It was okay. The wait in that long line over an hour was just not worth it. Would never do it again. Cupcakes were just okay. Only 1 cashier. The other girl was boxing. They were not in too much of a hurry to serve their customers. Word of advice.....customer service is most important especially when your product is just okay.
Peter Gan
The queue was not as bad as I imagine. The huge variety of cupcakes here makes it difficult to decide. I went with my favorite chocolate and peanut butter. It was good.
Fay C (BlogABookEtc)
If you haven't heard about Georgetown Cupcakes then it is definitely time that you get to know!
The cupcakes were OUT OF THIS WORLD.
Incredibly tasty and although slightly over priced totally worth it. There seems to be a taste for everyone.
Maryam Shahid
I absolutely love Georgetown Cupcakes! They make the perfect gift and they are always wonderful quality. I've ordered from them several times over the years, sending cupcakes for mother's day, birthdays, graduations, you name it! I also attended a wedding in Texas once and the groom's family (who were originally from Maryland) ordered Georgetown cupcakes for the wedding! Customer service is great too, on one of the occasions (my sister's graduation) that I had ordered the special cupcakes they came smooshed with melted dry ice, my sister called Georgetown and they rectified the situation by sending a replacement. 👌 They truly care about their customers! Will continue to order from them!
Brian Griffin
One of your must-do tourist things while in Georgetown. If you live here it a fun outing. The cupcakes are great and there are usually 15 or more choices at $3.25 each. The staff is super friendly and fast. Do expect to wait in a line, it's a hot spot..... but you're going to wait in line for everything in Georgetown.... might as well reward yourself with something sweet.
Audrey Arnold
Cupcakes were so good, but the employees could definitely work on being more friendly
BAYOWORLD
Initially I only went here just to see what the hype was about.
The place has a pretty slow wait (maybe cause it’s busy due to the “hype” or “popularity”)
The staff even though pretty “friendly” did not do the best helping with a suggestion (saying everything is good, doesn’t help me make a choice on which cupcake to try).
Also the cups cakes are MAD expensive and I don’t think the prices are reasonable.
HOWEVER at the end of the day the cupcakes I tried were great!
*I believe you can preorder and have cupcakes delivered!
**you can order coffee!
***they have vegan cupcakes!
Simone Krolikowski
Such a cute place! We got there when it first opened so we missed the line, they had one vegan cupcake option- apple cinnamon. Very good! Inside is so cute seeing all the cupcakes and pink boxes. Staff was friendly.
Whitney Baum-Bennett
The cupcakes were good, but slightly expensive. We went there with a vegan friend because they have vegan cupcakes, but they were out! I wish they would post on the door if they were out of specific cupcakes for dietary restrictions (vegan or gluten free) so you don't have to wait 30 minutes or more in line to be told they don't have them.
Linda Aung
Lack of customer service and overpriced cupcakes almost $50 for 12 cupcakes. Taste just like any other cupcakes so go somewhere else for the same taste, look but cheaper.
Parth Soni
I visited during the cherry blossom festival so obviously there was a long queue for ordering cupcakes + many cupcakes were unavailable (but cannot blame them). The people are nice and they help you with the selection. Cupcakes lived up to the hype. Five stars!!
lee songme
Many people prefer "Baked and wired" , but I prefer this. I couldn't finish baked and wierd's cupcakes because they are too sweet and too big. However it's true these are a bit expensive.
Sherin Samir
Amazing, delicious and perfect, its my favorite cupcake absolutely, you have to try it and eat 2 as a minimum per time, I like double chocolate birthday and coconut 🤗 …
Nicole Selkov
I've tried several cupcake shops featured TV. Usually I find them overrated. However, these were well worth the wait! Moist with tasty frosting thatbwasnt overpowering sweet. Only complaint is that the design and flavors seemed basic.
Mohammed Alabdullatif
Long line but deserve the wait!! One of the best cup cakes i have ever tried.
Paul Tolar
Delicious and beautiful fresh baked cupcakes in a large variety of flavors. They offer daily and monthly special flavors in addition to those available on a daily basis. Small shop but well organized and spotless with friendly and efficient staff. Be prepared to wait in a line that forms outside (but moves quickly). Finding parking can be tricky.
Kali Harris
One of my favorite places to go when in Georgetown!! Always greeted by friendly staff, and always a new flavor to try! Most recently, enjoyed the elderflower lemon! Highly recommend!
Charlotte Dumaresq
Georgetown cupcake has the absolute best cupcakes I’ve ever had. They are decadent, not too sweet, and the frosting is incredible. Also their coffee and tea is excellent. There was a pretty significant line but it didn’t take too long and was 100% worth the wait. I highly recommend going here if you are in the area.
Shenna Garrow
This is my FAVORITE cupcake shop on earth!!! They live up to their reputation, including the unfortunate long line on the weekend but it’s well worth the wait! My favorite was the unicorn cupcake in the picture below. Definitely spend my time waiting and make sure your cell phone has for battery LOL. You will not be disappointed and make sure to get at least six different ones because you will love all of them! - Shenna Johnston, REALTOR, Virginia
M Ali
I was not as impressed. My wife was talking about this place for a while and I was expecting more. Also parking around there sucks. Being from the south and living somewhat in the country I am used to parking my car in open spaces. I paid $6 to park in a parking lot and I tell ya two cars can’t be next to each other especially while turning. Cup cake tasted decent. Service was average not impressive.
Bule Story
^_^ BuleStory review for Georgetown Cupcake, Washington DC - The cake was sweet, nice and pretty delicious.Their cupcake were sooo super cute, if you got the white frosting usually it’s a cream cheese but not all tho but mostly the frosting was sugar, it still good anyway .... if you had a special occasion and you think you need a cake, then this cupcake can be your choice.
Nate McClintock
Vegan apple cinnamon was amazing and better than some vegan options at other local dessert places. Highly recommend this place!
Praveen Potluri
We ordered a coconut, a vegan apple cinnamon and a strawberry. The texture was so soft and the frosting was perfect. It was not too sweet which was a nice touch. Also make sure to order a day before so that you can avoid standing in the line. Because of Covid they do let only one person inside and as such the lines tend to be long. If you order ahead you can walk in to pick up your order. If I ever visit Georgetown, I would definitely get these cupcakes again.
Lara Yotti
These cupcakes are amazing!!! Well worth the wait eve though I have to say it went very fast! The women working there are fast, efficient, nice and keep the line going! ♥️♥️
Sonia S
Yummy. We had the Key Lime, Cookies and Cream, Red Velvet, Rainbow, Peanut Butter and Unicorn. They were delicious and my White Mocha was delicious! The Key Lime was flavourful and light tasting. Glad I came all the way from Ontario, Canada for these delicious treats. I smushed them a little.
Carol Ramirez
I loved the key lime, salt caramel and the cheescake cupcake... omg!!... tip: is better and no wait time if you do an online order to pick up. ;-)
Jessica
Don't let the long line out the door scare you...it moves pretty quickly. We got the salted caramel and peanut butter chocolate cupcakes and they were great. A little pricey, but certainly worth a visit.
Gian Marco S.
Delicious CupCakes, would definitely recommend as a desert!
Will definitely come back.
Only drawback is that they wouldn’t take orders in store because of covid, so we had to order on the phone right outside of the store. A bit annoying given the summer heat.
BradJill
Georgetown Cupcakes is a foodie hotspot in the D.C. area and place well worth seeking out if you love your cupcakes. Opening hours are 10am to 9pm daily (close at 8pm on Sundays). There are queues which form well before opening time so be ready to allow some time if you want to experience Georgetown cupcakes.
This is the flagship Georgetown Cupcakes, also referred to as D.C. Cupcakes. There are other branches in NYC, Boston and a couple other cities in the States. However if you have tried, heard of or seen them on the tellie, this is the original bakery and shop.
We've had their cupcakes a few times in recent years and they have always been very, very good. You can purchase individual or groups of cupcakes which are packed nicely in their signature pink boxes, which are nice for travelling. As such, if you are D.C. for a few days and visit early in your trip, you can purchase a few extra to put in your hotel and enjoy during mornings or afternoons for the next couple of days.
There is an expected variety of conventional cupcake flavours along with Daily Specials and seasonal Monthly varieties as well. All are listed on the official website if you want to think about which to try during your visit. There is a large cupcake menu on the wall that you will see just as you enter the shop. Cupcakes are on full display behind a glass counter as well so you can look and think over which to purchase.
I've really enjoyed the majority of the cupcakes tried, particularly the pumpkin spice, vegan apple cinnamon, salted caramel and chocolate ganache. Others with different taste preferences will likely prefer others. Definitely have a look at what is available prior to arrival. This will help you order and receive your cupcakes in a more timely fashion.
Leslie Leavitt
Adorable little shop. We loved all the cupcakes we bought. Red velvet, salted caramel chocolate chip, lemon cheesecake, chocolate², chocolate coconut, and bunny funfetti! Delicious
zachariah zachariah
The attraction of Georgetown Cupcakes is the hype based on the reality show it had. When it comes to the actual cupcakes they are not worth the hype. The cream top of their cupcakes are very good and is something I never had before but the cake part is very dry and harder than I like. I think they could do better on making the cake part of their cupcakes more softer and fluffy.
David Abercrombie
The cupcakes are delicious, the shop is very small, the service is good, but wait outside is at least 10-20 minutes.
Patrick Young
We waited over an hour in line for the 6 cupcakes. They have a wide variety of cupcakes which is nice, but I would say they taste only marginally better than cupcakes you can buy at the grocery store. Admittedly confused by the hype, but to be fair I’m also not as big on pastries and baked goods as others are.
Sunshine Taylor
The cupcakes are heavenly but the customer service was lacking. A warm welcome would have been an added bonus to this experience and perhaps more gentle boxing of the cupcakes. My sister asked the associate if she could put the cupcakes in separate boxes because we were parting ways after we exited the store. Yes, the associate had already started putting our order of a half dozen cupcakes in a large box but a slight change in plans should not result in aggression to the point where I fear the cupcake is going to crumble. The cupcakes looked so good, I planned to get back in line to purchase cupcakes for the rest of my family but this experience quickly changed my mind. This encounter lead us to Sprinkles a short walk from Georgetown Cupcake, where we were welcomed with a smile. Because of this warm welcome, we decided to patronize Sprinkles as well where we purchased nearly a dozen of cupcakes. I will visit the location in Bethesda next time. Fingers crossed that I receive better customer service.
Rohan Brebion
The big question is it worth the long lines? My short answer yes if you are going to buy at least few types of cupcakes, the queue looks under 30 minutes, and the weather is good. I really liked how many of the cupcakes have a filling or a cream injected into their core; take the hot chocolate cupcake for example it had a very light almost milky/frothy center that complemented the dark chocolate cupcake. Make sure you have napkins btw!
Bho Johnson
I had high hopes for this place. As it is very popular. People stand in line for over an hour just to have these cup cakes . I've been here once years ago maybe around 2013 and it made a great impression! I raved about this place after having what tasted like great quality cupcakes ... I came back to get some this year 2022...waited 20 min and the choices were very few and the quality was like regular store bought cup cakes ...I could have bought these from Walmart. I'm a gourmet quality bakery type person . So this was definitely a huge let down . I hope it was just an off day for this bakery or has the quality taken a cut?
Abby Quigley
These cupcakes are AMAZING!! They are also priced really well and have an incredible selection.
TOP LEFT: Chocolate Coconut
TOP RIGHT: Butterscotch (highly recommend)
BOTTOM LEFT: Keylime
Shiwani Kamath
Decadent chocolate and other delicious flavors. Designs are impeccable. Best on the first day, I do not recommend keeping them longer than a day for the best taste. Lines are long if you don't have a pre order. Wait times can be upward of fifteen minutes. Many choices. Staff aren't too helpful as they're rushed. A bit expensive but worth it. If you keep them overnight, take them out of the fridge 2 hours before eating .
Chiara
Worth the wait! I’ve never had a bad cupcake from here.
Elizabeth Mensah
Georgetown Cupcake has become a victim of its success. I live in the DC area and have been visiting this place for over a decade. Their cupcakes and their service used to be great. Now it feels as if they are stretched and their systems haven’t caught up with their expansion. On my past two orders for parties, they got the orders wrong and/or didn’t deliver without contacting to inform why. It’s cupcakes, so obviously no one was injured, but it is annoying when you plan for something and you feel like you’re getting the run around because someone goofed. Their cupcakes are still pretty good, but given the number of other great spots in the city, I’ve decided it’s just not worth the hassle anymore. So here’s saying goodbye to a great 10 year relationship GT cupcakes. It was good while it lasted.
siddhartha gurijala
As a local i always feel these cup cakes are over hyped. Honestly they are good cup cakes as good as the once’s i get elsewhere. Nothing super special about this place. If you are in the area and crave for some cup cakes please try them but there is absolutely no reason for someone to come all the way to George town to try them. 🤷🏻♂️ …
Elissa Gervais
These cupcakes are so tasty! We stopped in to pickup a small cupcake in celebration of our son’s first birthday. We picked the chocolate birthday cupcake and it was so moist and delicious. If you are looking for cupcakes, this is a great choice.
Jane L
Georgetown Cupcake is mostly for tourists but that's ok. What I like about it is that it's a DC business that has kept up its hype for over 10 years! That's impressive. I go for the free secret flavor of the day and find it totally worth waiting in short to moderate lines. The cupcakes all taste great. I don't think I've ever had a bad one.
There are a few tables inside but mostly this is a to-go type place.
Anthony Stewart
Naturally, these cupcakes taste better than the supermarket variety, but they they are small, definitely overpriced and absolutely overhyped. Not my first choice, but definitely not my last.
novannoir927462
It took a little over an hour in line to order, for a small moment when a customer left angrily saying there were no more specialty flavors left I was crushed. However, since I waited so long I decided to stick it out and buy whatever they had. To be clear all the flavors are great, but I really wanted a Key Lime Cupcake. When it was my turn they had it and I was over joyed! Tasted as good as I remembered. Thank you Georgetown Cupcake, for providing service in trying times. The wait is long and well worth it. Also thank you for providing a safe environment not just for your staff, but for your customers too. I know now I can order a pick up and it is easier than waiting in line.
laura ospina
If you plan to go there for cupcakes make sure you preorder them. They are currently not selling any cupcakes to walk-in customers. We had to place the order a few hours in advance and then make a special trip to Georgetown from Downtown DC....kinda annoying but so worth it.
E D
Designer cupcakes that actually taste good! So popular it’s a must visit when in DC. I love the variety of flavors, from classics such as the birthday cake and red velvet, to monthly specials such as s’mores, lavender early grey, and pumpkin cheesecake. I’ve never had a flavor here I didn’t like! The coffee is OK, but definitely better to be had across the street at Peet’s. It’s usually busy with a line out the door and little seating inside, but worth the wait!
Peter Stinson
Fantastic cupcakes. Supremely nice staff. I eat gluten free, and the GF lava chocolate was awesome. Moist. Delicious. Couldn't have been better. Monday evening: still a line, albeit fairly short.
Noor Safadi
This place was with the wait, prob just waited 10 min though. I think I have tasted almost every flavor they have to offer..... the chocolate Gnoche is my least favorite. Other than that so rich and fast- especially with a cup of tea!
Susan Davis
National Shipping Georgetown Cupcakes, I had to leave a 5 star review, in this instance, if I could leave 10 stars I would. National Shipping is the best, my good friend was celebrating her baby girls 1year birthday, and the cupcakes arrived on time and in superd condition, she said she was so thrilled, the cupcakes were matching her display table and they were beautiful. THANK YOU for a great experience. I APPRECIATE and give National Shipping for GT a 10 star review.
Jesus Cisneros
Highly recommended from a friend and seriously delivered. I ordered the chocolate ganache and it was delicious. My kids ordered the cheese cakes and they we so good too. Highly recommend ordering ahead to avoid the lines but it’s a must have.
Ray Toth
Excellent cupcakes! I had the gluten free chocolate birthday cupcake and would never know it was gluten free. It even fooled my discerning wife! She had the lemon blossom cupcake which was also very good.
Fiona Yeung
Always heard of this place from the TV show but assumed it would be over hyped but it was actually SO GOOD! It's about $3.50~ for one cupcake. The pumpkin cheesecake was amazing with an actual Graham cracker bottom! I went on a Sunday evening and there was about a 5-10 minute wait. Definitely would come again!
Dc Celebrity
Absolute perfection... perfect cupcakes 🧁 might I suggest you order in advance to avoid long lines for a quick pick up #ThankYou …
Josh Rees
Georgetown cupcakes lives up to the hype. The cupcakes are amazing and they have a huge variety. I would definitely recommend coming here and buying a dozen....or two.
Nikki Kancey
To say we LOVE their cupcakes is an understatement. But their sanitization protocols are UNMATCHED. only 2 parties inside at a time. All staff with gloves and masks. While you wait outside, they hand out FREE lemonade and cupcakes for shark week. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 …
Navi Oraa
Manager was very understanding when it came to an accidental order mishap, I would definitely come back and order again for more big events!! The cupcakes were lovely and delicious as well ☺️
Jaime Tant (Ginger In OH)
They live up to the hype! I waited in line 20 minutes while my boyfriend drove around looking for a place to park. By the time I got inside, I knew what I wanted! The hummingbird cake was so good I wanted to cry. The red velvet was smooth and the icing creamy. Salted caramel and cherry cheesecake can’t even be described , they were so good. This is another tradition I’ll begin every time I visit DC
Jess G
Line was out the door however we waited less than 5 minutes to get to the counter to order. Great customer service. Cupcakes were delicious and worth standing in line in 30 degree weather.
Russell Palmer
Line was annoying out the door... But luckily the service was quick and friendly... Oh yeah... And key lime cheesecake cupcakes!!! Yes! Only reason for the 4 star is because half a dozen will set you back $18+
Jase Tiojanco
Delicious cupcakes! The peanut butter fudge was my favorite. Try to check their FB page for their 'secret cupcake' to get one for free.

Came back here for the first time in seven years during a visit to the DC area and had to get cupcakes! The cupcakes are amazing and they have a wide variety of flavors! The only downsides are the location is off a very busy road, there is usually always a line, but it goes by fast, the cupcakes are pricey (but they are worth it) and there is very little room to wait for your order or to eat. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by and get a dozen for $36 (+ tax), it’s worth it every once in a while.
LifewithMarch
They have varieties of cupcakes to choose from and they are so good. It was worth the visit.
Annie Lee
I got there around 6 or 7 pm, and it didn't take too long to wait in line.
Service was nice and smooth, and it offers a great variety of favors you can choose. Frosty is a bit too sweet but tasty overall.

The sister duo of Katherine and Sophie who started and own George Town Cupcakes have created an amazing business for all who have a fine-tuned sweet tooth.
What I like best is that we are able to select from a wide assortment so we can purchase our favorite flavors. Because George Town Cupcakes is so popular with local residents, go early in the day to be sure they haven’t run out of your choice cupcake variety. This is also a good tip for avoiding long lines during its busiest hours.
They also offer several themed pre-packaged dozens such as a Birthday Dozen, Graduation Dozen, Mother’s Day Dozen, Holiday Dozen, Rainbows & Unicorns Dozen, etc. This also shortens the wait time a bit as their staff doesn’t need to hand select and package the order. Actually, it was a pleasure seeing the care that they took to select one of their amazing boxes and see how they protect each cupcake as they package them. My favorite?: The silky ganache cupcake.
What really is helpful is that they offer gluten-free cupcakes and I wanted to provide a treat for someone really dear to me that needs this. Most amazing – the flavor of their gluten-free products is just as tasty!
A few hours before the event’s guests were to arrive; I get a confirmation message from Georgetown Cupcake promising when they would have my order delivered by: “Deliver by 4 PM”. The delivery was punctual and the deliverer was polite. The cupcakes tasted very fresh.
Naturally, being in the famous area of Georgetown, parking can be an issue. But the area is so unique and fun to visit, we don’t mind the walk after finding a parking spot blocks away. I wish we had one in the Twin Cities!

Great customer service! Great job staff! Cupcakes are absolutely delicious!
Martin Wright
Worth the drive (I'm from Texas) and the wait. Fantastic cupcakes, expect nothing less. Best thing to come out of the DC area, period.
Joanna F
Really really good cupcake - try their caramel cheesecake one and you won’t be disappointed.
Alexa Giovanni
Our cupcakes were awesome! I had the mint chip and a strawberry cheesecake cupcake and was equally impressed with both. Definitely recommend! (Littl pricey, totally worth it.)
Amjad
The place is too small we had to wait 15 mins till we got seated in but the cupcakes were so good they have so many options i personally think the red velvet was the best

Where there is a smoke there is a fire, so, where there is a line there must be something special. This review is based on my personal experience and feedback from friends. The decoration is top notch but the cupcakes themselves are not special. I don’t know what the hype is about but you should definitely give it a go.
Madi Johnson
I know they were part of a reality TV show, and that must be a contributing factor as to why these are way over hyped. First off, these joints are 3.50 each. When I watched the show a while a go they definitely looked bigger, but now the cupcakes are very small (arguably a mini) I had the lavender and earl grey cupcake. The cake itself was moist, but just tasted like white cake, I couldn't taste the lavender or the earl grey. The frosting kinda tasted like earl grey. Overall it was not that fulfilling of a cupcake, and most certi not worth 3.50. My suggestion is to patronize cupcake places that use real ingredients and give you value for your dollar.

The best cupcake I have ever eaten in US!
I have had chocolate, red velvet, and cheese cupcake until now.
The cake is so sticky and soft. Also the cream is not sweet that much.
I love it :)

Peanut Butter Lava cupcake (pictured at left) was amazing; the peanut butter frosting tastes like it came straight out of a jar of JIF but is super light. Strawberry Lava cupcake was a little disappointing. Cupcakes are a little small, too (think grocery store size), and have lots of frosting, but they give you a nice to-go box. All things considered, it's a nice place, but I prefer Baked and Wired.
Diego Murcia
Great variety, and delicious. My favorite was the key lime cheesecake cupcake
Mark S
Can't get enough of this place. Even though there's always a line outside, it goes by fast. And totally worth it 😊. Anything with cheesecake in it is to fiee for. My favorite here is their salted caramel and cookies and cream cheesecake cupcake. And when in season, their blueberry cheesecake cupcake is like a taste of dessert heaven. …
Mike Meachem
Ordered for the family who loves these. I liked my cake. Lime flavor was incredible icing and the topper were so so. Key lime
Lizzy M马利
Has this place changed owners or management or something? Came here three years ago and had the largest, most delicious cupcakes ever! Came back yesterday and had normal sized cupcakes with alright texture and flavor. Cupcake was a little hard, frosting was good though. Overall, not nearly as good as I remember. If you’re into dark chocolate, definitely try the chocolate cupcake (The only place I found that serves proper chocolate instead of water down chocolate for their cake and frosting flavoring, I have to give them that), the salted caramel was good too, I think I got cookies and cream the first time I was here. There are a lot of customer service changes that could be better, but overall a solid place to go if you like the touristy stuff. I’m going to try Baked and Wired next time, if they give me my huge cupcake and taste better I won’t be back to this store.
Mary Lemirande
Amazingly delicious cupcakes and worth the 20-minute wait in line for them. My favorite was chocolate squared. Very polite employees as well.
Aditya Gundamaneni
Awesome cupcakes in entire DMV area so far. Loved all the 4 varieties i bought
Charles Breeding
The cupcakes were delicious, as expected. The icing tastes like ice cream and that's the best way I can describe it. And I mean that as a total compliment.
Eduardo Ramos
OVERRATED. Customer service is lacking. Cashier was rude and being a little baby because customers were leaving the door open while waiting to make their purchase. It's not the customers job to manage the door. If you are concerned about the door, then put an employee at the entrance and have them control the flow. The cupcake selection is nice. Again, this place is overrated.
Genie Fae
Fantastic cupcakes and both vegan and gluten free options. There is usually a long line but it moves fast and is definitely worth the wait!
Lindsey Smith
Really decent. Good cake and great frosting. Worth a 15 minute wait in line but I sat there for about 70 minutes. Guess that's why I bought 6 instead of 2. Had to eat them all for some carb therapy to get over that wait.
Anyways, I feel like people say this place isn't good as a way of feeling cool and contrarian. It's good. "The other place is better" is a stupid comment. Go to both places. Eat both cupcakes.
Mrs. O'Neal
Icing and cupcakes OH MY!! If you love buttercream icing and cool flavors, then this is the place for Y-O-U!! Even the pickiest dessert lover will love this place! It’s right on the corner, staff is friendly. I give it four stars only because I gifted two dozen to my daughter’s daycare and they didn’t have a tag with all the flavors that I could give the teachers for reference! The staff member told me just to go to the website(but that’s not an option for the teachers) the cupcake it self is almost like a pound cake, thick the flavors of the icing isn’t to sweet or overpowering. Prices are pretty high one is 3.50 before tax. A dozen is 36.00 so it can add up pretty quick!
Ardian FuGaA Kurtolli
Wow! I stumbled upon this gem by accident! No waiting time (well 5 min is nothing) and got served by an Albanian girl! What an coincidence! The 🧁 was amazing really! Best I ever had! …
Gary Butler
Line outside of the door. I ordered online so I walked straight in to pick it up. There was an computer error issue with my order but the young lady corrected it quickly & professionally. Cupcakes are delicious & the staff was excellent.
Edward Parsons
Well DAMN! Arguably the best cupcake in DC. I walked to Georgetown Cupcake from Fort Myer just to see if I could get in...I did and it changed the standard in which I hold cupcakaries to. Georgetown Cupcake has set the bar so high, I am unsure I will be able to look at another cupcake with anything that resembles emotion. There is another cupcake place that was on Cupcake Wars, but they are a far cry from the quality, taste, or passion that Georgetown Cupcake has for craft of cupcaking. I will be back to stand in the line!
Weining Guan
Really brightful shop at a corner of Georgetown. Long queue of people cuz of the renowned cupcake. The cake itself, however, is a bit too sweet for me
Tiffany David
This place has really went downhill....I normally order ahead of time but didn't. I waited in line for about a hour because to me they are worth the wait but I was wrong. I was so disappointed 😞... the cupcakes were dry just like the customer service! My 5yr old daughter wanted some hot chocolate and they said they didn't have any milk products available. She doesn't eat cupcakes so the hot coco would have made her day after standing in the cold with me. A overall bad experience. I hope they get back to the previous experiences we are use to!
Dawn Sisk
Amazing atmosphere, delicious cupcakes! It was the 1st time I had been and I was not disappointed at all. A bit pricey but definitely worth it!
Lisa Stevens
Love coming here whenever we're in the area. The service is quick and there are plenty of selections to choose from (the vegan red velvet's my daughters favorite!) I would say that their frosting recipe seems to have changed, as its gotten teeth chattering sweet, but nonetheless, they are cupcakes so we don't mind it too much.
Karen Conradsson
So I'm not even a fan of cupcakes like that, but ever since I started working down the street from this place I can't stop eating them!! They are my favorite!! Not to big and not to small, and perfect on the sweetness!! I'm definitely spoiled being walking distance. Always order the night before as they always have a line that's usually down the street.
Jaden Antal
Cupcakes are amazing, tons of variety!
Coffee is great as well, and pairs very nicely with the food!
Laura Purkey
Truly just the most perfect cupcakes you could ever ask for. They’re like the Goldilocks of cupcakes—everything is just right. A lot of bakeries tend to overdo it with sweetness and toppings and size, but Georgetown Cupcakes doesn’t. I am amazed at how good some of the more unusual flavors are. Love the variation in their menu too. Just perfect
Gaurav Chadha
Very famous cupcakes! There’s always a waiting outside their shops! Very popular joint
Danielle Markham
Cupcakes are amazing, but be prepared for a long wait to get them and limited space to eat.
Mo Maz
The best cupcakes ever. I’m not a cake fan but Gt cupcake always has me coming back
Freddy Zuarich
Are really good cupcakes and if you’re in Georgetown you should go there! However sometimes you have to wait around 15 min or more in the line to buy.
Pyke Diaz
Great cupcakes! Be sure to bring patience we are in cue for 45 mins just to try 6 cupcakes :)
Lisa Sherwin
I sent each of my two daughters a dozen of the Mother's Day cupcakes. They said how delicious they are and how nice the presentation is. They are both NYers and they said Georgetown Cupcake is far superior to Magnolia Bakery! Thank you for the quick delivery!
Jay
I question the validity of reviews that say these are the best cupcakes ever given that these taste like they were made right out of a box. Theres a long line here and it certainly is not worth the wait. Don't get me wrong, these are decent cupcakes they are just overrated and you could make similar cupcakes at home with no trouble. Baked and Wired just around the corner is miles better
Patricia Alleyn
Delicious!!! But if you’re planning to eat there you should know it’s really a small place with 4 tiny tables.
DONGHUN LEE
Nothing special and long line to take a order. Recommend the Oline pre-order
Priyesh Patel
Very very very long line. Walked passed at around 7.30pm.
We went back again on a Sunday around 3pm and the one was reasonable
We got 2 cupcakes so came to about $7.50 total.
They were nice and moist
Pon P
Small shop, allowed only 2 parties inside. It was a sweltering hot day when we visited. The cupcakes are delicious, but I would recommend other places for beverages.
Alexandra M
I was very excited to try Georgetown Cupcake. The hype alone is amazing. They have a large variety of flavors. They are very good, but not "exceptional". A lot of frosting and a seemingly small amount of cupcake. A solid 4 stars.
Kelli Padgett
I love the cupcakes from here!!! I had a cupcake with peanut butter icing and it is the best I have ever had!!!! Cant wait to go back!!
Audrey Fisher
My husband recently received an order of these cupcakes from a co-worker and oh my gosh they are absolutely the best cupcakes we've ever eaten!! If I could I'd buy these every month, they are so good! Super good quality and the vanilla flavor is absolutely amazing.
David G
Loved the cupcakes (both the frosting and the cake were to my liking) however there is often a long lineup for it. Thankfully I went on a rainy monday morning and there was no wait. As good as those cupcakes are, they are not worth waiting more than 10 mins.
Gabriel Felx
Nice experience at this shop as always. Yes it could be very crowded and you have to wait outside, but it's worth it. You have a lot of choices of flavors and different packaging size are avalaible. If you visite the city it's a little bit outside the downtown area, but it's located in a really nice and high end area.
Tim S
Amazing cupcakes. We watched the show and had to stop in and select a half dozen different cupcakes to try.
Mayesha Sahir Mim
Delicious cheesecake cupcake! Worth waiting in line
다인
THE BEST cupcakes i’ve ever had. The staff was very friendly. There was a line when i was there, but it did not take long at all. I would definetely visit this place again when i go to Washington DC
Luis Mosquera
Came from visit to DC, my wife Is a huge fan so her expectations were so high as she Is a bakery and pastry chef, great flavor. We loved it... now the challenge Is verify if flavor Is the same in NY.
Je Kalis
The cupcakes were so delicious... Just the best honestly. Going to that shop really made my trip. And I loved their tv show when I was really little so... It was a match made in sugarholilc heaven.
Manuel Martinez
Place is excellent and cupcakes are quite amazing and delicious. Very good desert option with friendly staff located in a great area of DC. Would certainly revisit. Would certainly recommend the Key Lime pie 💯 …
ty jenkins
Cupcakes never disappoint me now for the holidays they have holiday cupcakes....yummy
Felipe Nogueira (PePeTD)
Remeber being a kid and the excitement you would get for dessert after eating some nasty brocolli that your mother forced down your throat or you would not be able to eat said dessert? Well that is the excitement I get everytime I go to George town cupcakes :) you will not be disappointed.
Julie Jahanpour
We absolutely love Georgetown Cupcake for sweet treats for celebrations and to ship for special occasions to friends and family. The only thing that would make them 5 stars for us is if they had more fruit flavors available in pre-set mixes and as individual options. They cater to chocolate lovers and other similar creamy flavor-lovers but I would love to see more lemon, raspberry, pomegranate, lime, even lavender or other herbs and spices added to liven it up a little. 🥳
David Tenbarge
The wait is worth it. So much variety, and they all tasted amazing.
Brian Hicks
I feel Georgetown Cupcake is the last one standing in the DC cupcake wars. And the quality is still pretty fantastic. Always a crowd pleaser when you show up to the party with GT cupcakes. Pro tip - order a box of cupcakes in advance and you can skip the line to pick them up. You’re welcome 😉 …
Christopher Yandell
decent cupcakes, but HIGHLY overrated. not the biggest fan of the icing.
Ian Harris
Waouh, really hard to choose between all these awesome cupcakes!
As in most US sweets, for me it would be much better with -10 or even -20% sugar, but loved trying this popular place nevertheless
Fátima Yataco La Fauci
Amazing!!! I tried lemon cheesecake and salted caramel and they were simply great.
Teresa Cory
Delicious cupcakes. Need to work on staffing. One customer with lots of questions slowed the line to a stop. Young man behind counter tried his best but customer wasn't getting it. Also the shop wasn't taking cash. Need to post that at the door.
Shahin Allard
Worth the wait in line! Best cupcakes I've ever had!
Jhonny Sanchez
One of the many places where they hype outlives the taste. Don’t get me wrong, these cupcakes hit the spot, but are definitely not worth the 1 hour wait in the long lines.
I like the fact that the employees keep a clean working area and try to organize the lines and crowds as best as possible.
Igor Starinskij
Heavenly cupcakes and high quality, fragrant tea. Not much indoor seating but a few tables outside.
Schroeder's Handyman service
Wonderful place to visit had so much fun cupcakes were great
Julia Near and Far
This is the second time I've been to Georgetown Cupcake. The first time I went I had one of the best cupcakes I've ever tasted. It was a specialty cupcake something along the lines of a cheesecake cupcake. This time I ordered more traditional cupcakes, ie vanilla with buttercream frosting. The cupcakes were moist and the frosting was smooth and creamy.
Winnie Huangxoxo
The blueberry cheesecake is very tasty!!!! Love it! Every time I come visit always stop for their cupcakes! So good
Christine P
I don't even feel like I have to say it, but I'll say it. THESE CUPCAKES ARE SO GOOD.
I will be dreaming of the salted caramel cupcake for the rest of my life. Until we meet again...
Got a half dozen, will rank them:
1. Caramel - salty, oozy, soft and sweet. We each got one. I wish I had 100 more.
2. Vanilla Birthday - everything in the world that tries to be birthday cake flavored is trying to be this.
3. PB Fudge - I didn't eat it, but my boyfriend deemed it worthy. Fudge filled.
4. Chocolate - Dense. Thick. Fudgey. Icing. Hardcore chocolate.
5. White chocolate raspberry - Wildcard I picked out for myself, not my favorite combo. Very raspberry-y, fluffy icing. Good, but not decadant, wouldn't get again.
Abi O
Great array of flavors and super sweet staff! The vegan carrot cake was amazing - the frosting was light and not too sweet, and the cupcake texture was dense and perfectly moist. One the best vegan cupcakes I’ve had.
Abir Chowdhury
Honestly not the best cupcakes in town but oh just so pretty lol !
Toni Snow
So yummy! Best cupcakes in any town.
angela natilla
Definitely the cupcakes may be worth the wait but the wait is excessively too long there were only 25 people in line but the two guys is the store serving were working at the speed of 2 client per hour. A sleepy cashier and a second filling boxes even more slowly ever have seen something like that the business is loosing customers thanks to their lazy employees
Talking about fast pace of US life ! 🤣
Dayoung Son
Famouse cupcake place! Should visit if you were in georgetown! Soft & sweet cream on the cake!
ABC-Computers-Repair
Even the cupcakes doesn't look like before employees and the employees has the same spirit to serve the costumers we still stopping here for some good cupcakes good part is no more longer line or maybe because is the cool season ??
Brandon Rosenblum
The caramel apple is really but you can only get it in November and there is a long wait
Julieta Catalina Villalba Arias
The best place to eat cupcakes. This one cost about 3.25 dollars and all the different things that it had was delicious. It's a must to go and try this cupcakes.
Calvin Tran
I actually hated cupcakes before Gerogetown Cupcakes. Now I crave it from across the country. Thanks Gerogetown Cupcakes. Also I've had sprinkes before didn't enjoy.
j J
Do you all even answer your phone?? I just spent over $50 for shipping cupcakes to me, and no one has gotten back with me about the tracking number and I need those cupcakes by January 13th. I have reached out to the distribution center and they are not answering. I've reached out to the actual Georgetown location and they're not answering! I do understand that you are a very busy establishment, but you are going to have to answer your phone if you going to carry a business like this! This is not professional at all.
M Bish
Was a cool experience. We ordered a day before which worked out good as there was a 1 hour wait down the street for walking. Pretty hyped up and talked about place, cupcakes were okay
Sarah Balz
Super good! This place was a must visit on our trip to DC. Crowded, but the line moves quickly. You can call ahead as well. Cupcakes are super delicious and pretty as well.
Sun Sh
Mouth watering cupcakes with many choices to satisfy everyone. Wont regret at all.
Ilana Hale
I’ve tried them twice and although they were very good cupcakes, they don’t hold up to the hype and difficulty in getting them. Between the expensive delivery fees and the hour long line, it’s only worth it because of their marketing and exclusivity to say you did it. There are just as good of cupcakes at other places that won’t be a pain to get.
Joshua Felstead
Absolutely delicious cupcakes. The line is long and it's pricey, but they are really yummy.
Reed Pettibon
Just order enough for 1-2 days or they will dry out. Within 1-2 days they are divine.
Pranit Trivedi
They're amazing and baked fresh. Worth the wait in the line for the tastiest cupcakes ever had. There are so many options in the menu which makes it a crowd pleaser. Just like their cupcakes even the place is sweet.
Aaron Moya
Yummy cupcakes!! So yummy that there was a line down the street. It took the staff a bit to get us all through, our group, but the cupcakes were good.
Chris Burke
Not sure why so much hype!
We were visiting DC from Texas during TG week. decided to give this place a try since one of our friend had recommended.
First they are only allowing 1 party at a time due to which you have to wait in a line that will take 45 mins plus! The cakes are dry, way too sweet, not much of actual cake & overpowered with icing.
Hands down, we have a lot better cupcake place called Craves in Houston.
Alena L
It doesn't happen to me often that I really like the dessert
IT'S AMAZING
a lot of names to choose from too
A couple tables available with the outlets in the wall. AC. No restroom.
Felicia Beharry Misra
So many flavors to choose from...tasty cupcakes. The line eventually went out the door.
Don Redford
My wife love cupcakes so she heard about this place so we went. We were impressed!
Che G
Waited over an hour just to see what the hype was about. Their cupcakes were not all that. The store had 4 workers and only two were managing the orders. They shouldnhave had a system in place where they take the orders of the people who were standing outside, in the cold, so that their order would be ready when they got in. The only cupcake I like d was the vegan carrot and Key lime pie. All the other ones were ok. That line was not worth it.
JennyLovesGogi 제럽고 (제니럽스고기)
All staffs in the store were very kind. Though I waited for such a long time, it was worth it.
